It was a Thursday. But we were seated right away. It was quiet. There are several tv's and light music. The restaurant was clean and lots of beautiful touches to the interior. Aubrey was ready for our drink order and gave time for food order. They have local brews which we love. We did not get an appetizer but could have made a full dinner with the yummy options they have. We had a family group of about 20 (made a reservation) for a late lunch at Alex's. Our table was ready. We had two members of the group with mobility issues and the staff opened a side door for us making access very easy. Although our group was large and a neighboring group was equally large, staff were friendly, flexible, and service was very smooth. Food was delicious and the menu offered gluten free options (yay!) that I was also able to enjoy. All members of our party enjoyed our experience and look forward to a future visit! read more

I ordered a small Greek salad, house pizza, and a sweet tea. Salad was decent, tea was great. I expected more from the pizza. It was pretty mid. The worst experience I have ever had. The pizza was wrong when I ordered it and was the worst pizza I've ever had. My grandma loves this restaurant and when she went this time, she said it was the worst experience. She got the lasagna and it came out cold and we sent it back to the microwave and two other peoples because theirs was wrong and got my plate back and it was the wrong person's so I would have been eating off of somebody else's plate. I've been going to Alex's for as long as I can remember the food is always fresh and the overall atmosphere is super home like that being said the pizzas can come out a bit greasy. I'm not into Greek pizza. The pizza dough used for calazones too is heavy and dense. The gyros are ok. They used to have a chicken dish with spagetti that was my favorite. They took off the menu so I really don't go here anymore. read more

Located in downtown, Alex's Pizza is a Rolla staple so I was eager to go and give it a try. It did not disappoint. Immediately entering the restaurant it gave a very family friendly feel. For it being a Friday night we were seated quickly and service was amazing. To start we ordered the cheese balls, and they were your average cheese ball, but when I return I will be opting for a different appetizer. I had a hummus and olive gyro for my main meal. The lamb was seasoned well and I really enjoyed the tzatziki dipping sauce. The portions given are quite large so you definitely get bang for your buck. We found a pizza place in Rolla, because our mission is life is to try a pizza place in every city, town, and hamlet we visit. To start our lunch, we tried the spicy feta dip, which is something we've never seen before. We love feta and thought, how bad could they mess it up. Well, the answer is, apparently, not at all. Not even a little bit. It was awesome. Served with soft pita triangles, the dip spread easily and tasted outstanding. It was similar to a spicy pimento cheddar cheese spread, and just as delicious. We are definitely going to make this at the house. We both got 10" pizzas. I had the Alex's special, which had bell peppers, onions, and Greek sausage. The crust is thin and crispy, and they cut it into squares. The sauce was good, and my only complaint is they put one bit of sausage on each piece, instead of all over the pizza. But other than that, it was delicious. My wife got her usual pepperoni and green olives. The pizza are plenty for one person. A 12" pizza with an appetizer could probably feed two people. We enjoyed our lunch and the service was excellent. Also, they looked to have a fully stocked bar, if you're into that sort of thing. read more

We sure do love this spot! Their pizza is so amazing. My family loves the House Special, they are obsessed with the sausage on it!! I recently fell in love with the Mediterranean pizza! They have the best selection of vegetarian pizzas around! I love how the crust is braided over cheese. That bite is sooo good. And do yourself a favor and order the feta dip with pita. I believe this place prides itself on being Greek and obviously pizza is not from Greece. The crust was a bit undercooked. The sauce too sweet. The sweet tea was good. Alex's is a long term favorite Greek / Italian restaurant in downtown Rolla known for twisted crust pizza, gyros, salads and the like. I'm not a huge pizza fan here, despite this being their main stay. I enjoy the salads, dishes and sandwiches along with toasted ravioli, etc. Long established family restaurants are my favorite, this one in Rolla is not to be missed. The old photos of the St. Patrick's Board Court are also fun to look at on the walls. read more
