Ordered soufflé and it was good but the bacon and egg on ciabatta was all bread with one skinny pice of bacon that was cut into 3 pieces and paper thin eggs folded once. Didn't even cover the whole sandwich. You could barely taste anything other than bread. The seating is uncomfortable and not at all inviting for a place to enjoy your meal. The booth tables are so low you have to hover over your food bent over. I have gone to Panera all over since they opened and have never experienced that. Our first time trying it yesterday, first thing we noticed was how expensive everything was. Everything pictured on menu looked good so we decided to try their advertised meals. Well, food absolutely did not look anything like pictured and tasted like hospital food. Spent nearly $40 on overpriced hospital food! I was actually in shock of the quality. Me and my husband stopped by Panera bread for lunch today. Seeing a line of cars at the drive through we decided to go inside to eat. Upon placing our order at the kiosk we then waited for our order at the only clean table inside. We saw stacks of plates at the dish deposit and no one to clean tables. Once our order came up me and my husband were greeted by what I assume was the manager making sure people got their food at the front counter. Our meals were two sandwiches, very large and not cut in half. I had to search the front for utensils for a knife to cut out sandwiches and my husband had to ask for a drink cup that he ordered with his meal. Now onto the food. The sandwiches were lacking in everything a sandwich should have. My husband ordered the chicken cordon blue. My husband reported little to no sauce, hardly any chicken and one slice of ham with lots of dry spring mix. He says if there was more sauce it could have made a better sandwich but because of the little to no ingredients it was like eating bread with flavoring. My sandwich was a ham sandwich with Gouda cheese. Also lacked sauce had a piece of thin ham added and lots of spring mix. When I bit into my sandwich it was hard and dry, very hard to swallow. We both did not finish our sandwiches threw them in the trash and added our dishes to the dirty dish tower by the receptacle. We are making a promise to never coming to Panera again due to the lack of meat, sauce and lack of cleanliness. The meal also set us back 32$. Total waste. Never again. read more

I have been to many Panera Bread branches but this is the worst. I know they are new but the staff have no idea what they are doing. Service is unbelievably slow and food is not up to the usual standards. Really bad all round. Will need to improve significantly if they are to succeed. Perhaps bring some experienced staff from other branches in for a while. read more

I have visited this location four times since its opening on November 24, 2023. I've gone through their drive-through, I've ordered via mobile, and I've dined in. I cannot speak more highly about the food quality, the service, the cleanliness and atmosphere of the location. The employees are friendly and kind, which is much appreciated considering the stressors of starting new jobs at a new place during a holiday weekend opening. The food is stellar. I don't know of any other place in Redding that I could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner with such variety and freshness. The cost is on par with other businesses (fast food chains charge similar for less quality of meals). It's a nice place to go to grab a box of fresh baked goods for the office, a catered lunch, or just a singular snack. The establishment has offered employment to a variety of people which is a definite plus for our economy. If you went once and weren't thrilled, I encourage you to try again - it's worth it. I'm thrilled that Panera chose to establish a franchise in Redding and I will continue to be a loyal customer. read more

Food was good. Service was good. Place was dirty. Floors needed to be swept, employee walking around the lobby stepping on garbage instead of picking it up. I really want to like you, Panera Redding, but, compared to my past excellent experiences at Paneras elsewhere, you need to step it up. Our soups were lukewarm and our sandwiches were just alright. But for $36 for lunch for two, there are just so many other lunch spots in Redding to go to. Our order was also incorrect because, I believe, the server at the counter was growing more and more impatient with my elderly friend's slowness to order and pay. I use to be a huge fan of Panera bread on the east coast. So I was really excited when I heard they were building one in Redding. I've gone 5-6 times in the last 2 months and every single time my order is wrong and/or 10+ min wait (drive thru) and/or they are out of stock. Cashiers don't know what's on the menu. A week after opening and I am concerned about the success of this location. I love Panera, I went at least twice a week in Oregon when I lived there. I was so excited to see it come to Redding and happily waited an hour in the drive-through on day four after opening. However today I ordered takeout and went into the dining room to do so. I ordered and paid for a full salad, received a half, the blue cheese was missing from the salad, my salad was drenched in dressing that should've been in a separate container for takeout so it was soggy, it came with chips though I ordered Bread. I inquired about the bread. I was told they were out and they would not substitute it with a different type of bread. Even when inquiring about the bread I was met with a snippy reply. This is week one and they seem to have lost the big picture. After all I wasn't standing in line for free food! I had paid $13 for a salad. The dining area was full of people but the chaos came from behind the counter. The term "too many cooks in the kitchen" came to mind. more isn't always better. A positive was that the store manager was working with his team. I called about my experience and was treated professionally but the response was trying to comp me with food. What I really wanted was some reassurance that they would follow up with the staff and identify what led to so many errors so I will feel comfortable coming back.
