Good place to have sandwich, soup, salad, or mix the items to do half and half. Love their Roasted Turkey & Caramelized Kale Panini and Steak & Arugula Sandwich. For salad, I would recommend their Mediterranean Quinoa Salad or Chicken Soba Noodle Salad with peanut sauce. I do like their Broccoli Cheddar Soup and Bistro French Onion Soup. I mainly come here to order their "pick two" items. They have an outdoor patio, but the only view you will see are cars on the street and parking spaces. Limited parking spaces for this store, but can park next to Wells Fargo Bank. So far that I have gone, had no problems with customer service. Helpful with their menu items offered and did have friendly staff to take my order. Quality of the food I ordered had been great. As far as my overall experience, I find it convenient when I want to order a sandwich, soup, or salad. I felt content with what was ordered, but not really enthusiastic of the store however. read more

I came here three times while here for work. The staff was friendly and the quality of the food was whAt I would expect from panera bread So. The three stars are due to the other customers. The customer base is extremely rude to the staff. Happened all three times I ate here. Rude people all around here. Tip: don't be rude to people who make your food. Really. It's taken me well over six months to finally try this new Panera location since its opening last November/December. I'm a huge Panera fan, specifically the 3rd & King location by AT&T Park. I was hoping to have the same stellar experience but after reading some of the reviews, I lowered my expectations. Nevertheless, I hyped it up to my mom, especially the new Shrimp Salad Roll which was simply perfect when I tried it before a Giants game. As we walked in, I was impressed with what they did with the only Blockbuster space. The dining area is split into two sections and is very cafe like with booths and tables. With two ladies ordering in front of us, I was able to explain the YouPick2 to my mom, but I noticed the cashier seemed lost. Is she new? Is it like this all the time? After taking their order, she disappeared to the back and another new(?) and confused employee helped us. We both ordered the same thing: Shrimp Salad Roll w/ Asian Sesame Chicken Salad and a baguette as our site and two regular drinks. With two hours before closing, I feared they weren't going to have any more shrimp, but they did, but they were all out of avocado which is a shame. The meal came out to $31. Pricey. But it's a lot of food. As we waited for our food, I over heard no more shrimp rolls, so we were lucky in that respect. No more than 10 minutes later our order was called and it was plenty of food as expected. I really pumped up this sandwich to my mom and was hopoing to have a similar expereince. After a few bites, it was clearly not the same. No avocodo. And barely any lemon tarragon mayo on the New England roll. The shrimp on the other hand was just fine in comparison. Given that this is the second time I've had the roll, I think Panera should have gone with a different bread as its a little too fluffy for the shrimp and veggies. No need to compare the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad as it was just as good as every other location, but did need some extra dresssing. What do I think of Pinole's Panera Bread? It's not perfect, just like Hilltop. The people were friendly for the most part, but they don't really care what they're doing. It's just a (small) pay check. A sandwich with missing ingredients and a salad that needed more dressing equals to a three star experience. It's been over six months since Panera opened and I wonder if they'll ever fine tune this otherwise healthy and tasty cafe chain. Ambiance/Decor: 4/5 Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Price: $$ Overall: 3/5 Pros: + Tasty and healthy sandwiches/salads + Featured items (summer, spring, etc.) + Desserts + Plenty of open seating + Outdoor patio Cons: - Not up to par to other locations - Pricey read more

SERVICE - Not so great. I stood at the register for a few minutes and I KNOW the worker saw me, but still made me wait for her while she continued to talk with her coworkers. FOOD - I don't know how to rate this given that all Panera's pretty much serve the same food, but I ordered the CHICKEN tortellini pasta and they definitely gave me HAM. Knowing that the food worker doesn't know the difference between chicken and ham is a little frightening. Nonetheless, I love Panera but I'm not so sure I'll be returning to this one :/ read more

I came here for tea and coffee and the new person who works there is very nice but not trained well charged me for soda instead of tea. She apologized but didn't know how to correct it. Someone else who stepped in to help tried to convince me that the tea and soda costed the same but the sign clearly said the prices in big letters and there is a big price difference between the two. I asked for green tea and they made me iced tea. I was told that they had decaf coffee but they had to brew it fresh because they stopped making decaf later in the day. Why would you discontinue decaf when it gets closer to bedtime and people are planning to sleep soon? I waited about 15 minutes for the decaf coffee and and had to explain what tea was for another 10 minutes. A total of 25 minutes lost when I could have been enjoying drinks with my friend. The carpet here is really dirty. Panera needs to work harder on training new staff and cleaning their restaurant. We had to clean up someone else's table in order to sit down. This could have been a nice place but it's not. read more

I used to love Panera, and I'm starting to lesser so. While they have a great menu, I don't always believe that their options are the healthiest. But, for soups, salads, sandwiches, and pastries, I find there to be a good selection. I also think it is easier to please a lot of palettes here. But on this Panera: 1. ORDERING: Slow as heck. They don't have those "place your own order" stations. Also, I didn't see any handheld menus that could expedite things by stating the ingredients. (Hey, it's great that the overhead menus state "New Recipe" but it only piques your interest. The cashiers are great about upselling but not so great at telling you how to make the most of your order. 2. DINING AREA: Kind of filthy every time I've come here. Also, the layout is super noisy and doesn't give you that "nook" ambience other Paneras have. 3. TABLE SERVICE: I've been to other Paneras where they have those RFID table scanners that tell the servers exactly which table you're sitting at. This Panera sometimes uses the electronic pagers (read: you still have to get up and get your own food). Or, they hand you a printed receipt and still make you get your own food. 4. PARKING: A hot mess. Getting in and out of here on any normal day feels ridiculous. All in all, I generally only visit this Panera when trying to accommodate a bunch of taste buds. Otherwise, it's not really bang for the buck. You're likely to spend more than $10 a head, which makes table service restaurants a lot more attractive. read more

Panera produces some good tasting creations, but they are only fooling some of us into thinking they operate a real kitchen back there. I ordered chicken tortellini, which was damn good flavor wise but not impressive otherwise. Allow me to explain... A SMALL chunk of chicken was just thrown on top of my pasta like a garnish (rather than an ingredient). Check out the pic I uploaded if you're curious how small. Not only that but some of my pasta was warm and some was cold. How many microwaves you got back there Panera?!! Smh Lemonade was good even if it came out of a plastic foodservice container. Fancy!! Hardly worth $12, even when accompanied by some cold hard prisoner bread. read more

OMG!!! super expensive and horrible customer service! I called the phone number to put in my phone order, but no body picked up after 10 rings... So I drove to the store order cup of soup, a turkey sandwich and a steak lettuce wrap... That was over $23 (rip off). When I got back to work, I was pissed! I opened the bag to find a sloppy turkey sandwich with tomato's and onions on it, even though I asked for NO tomato and onion. Then I opened up their "Steak lettuce Wrap".. It was NOT a wrap. This is a uncut salad, not a wrap. I drove back and asked the manager to make it into a lettuce wrap, like I ordered.... She said they don't and won't do that. Apparently when they don't cut the lettuce, they call it a wrap. What a joke!!!! If I wanted a salad I would have ordered a salad. Someone needs to teach these guys how to make a real lettuce wrap! I swear its a total toss up here. Sometimes they have stuff and sometimes they don't. You're a bread shop, how could you be out of croutons for all the salads you offer? Floors aren't very clean. I literally just picked up my food. A half grilled cheese sandwich and this is what I get? The bread isn't even, like they ran out of bread and just stuck whatever piece was left. They also forgot to include a side of bread that's included with the meal, so they must've ran out of bread. The cheese inside is burnt and isn't even evenly coated on the sandwich. It looks like something I can make myself, but even I can make it better. Did they even try? I was really craving tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I tried to call the store to speak to a manager because this is unacceptable. But of course, the line is busy and no one wants to pick up the phone. It sucks because I've been here a couple times and each time, the sandwiches were well constructed. Thank god I didn't tip because this isn't even deserving of a tip. read more

Food is prepared well and I've never been disappointed with the quality. The staff is aways friendly and eager to help me if needed. The only issues that I've run across frequently are the online orders. 30% of the time, I'm waiting longer than the promised 10 min pickup time because of an out of stock item or something they are not able to find. Once that is all figured out, I'll most certainly upgrade the review to 5 stars read more

Lots of negative reviews on this location, but I had an enjoyable experience here. Dropped by here with some friends before heading into the city around 6:30pm at night. The place was not that busy and we were able to order our food quickly. I ordered the you pick two meal grabbing a Fuji apple salad and the broccoli cheddar in a bread bowl. This is kinda my go to meal at Panera and it was just as good as any other location. Just came here the first time, worse service ever, lil girls at cash register hella rude, the people calling your orders jus as rude, rolled her eyes when i asked if she called my name with a attitude, then when the portions came it was half of a half a cup of soup and the steak panini had barely any steak in it. All the other panera breads bring your food to you and helpful and friendly. Wish i could give negative stars. Customer service is horrible. I paid with a gift card and they clearly have a sticker on the register that said "if your gift card balance is less than $10 get cash back" so i asked for cash back and the cashier didn't know how to do it so she grabbed someone else. The other girl pretty much told me i couldn't get cash back so i pointed at the sticker and she said "yea we'll that's a lie. I've been trying to get stickers off for so long" in a rude manner. She didn't even bother to apologize. Employees really need to be trained on providing customer service. read more

They should close this place. Only one person at counter and you wait for 20 minutes to order and 20 to get order.

This place is the worst for curbside pick up and don't bother putting your number space in they don't get those numbers anyway. I called after waiting for 10 mins and that's what the girl said on the phone she also said she doesn't know how it works when you order curbside. So they don't make curbside a priority and they also don't train their staff on how things work or should. Maybe if there are cars parked in those number spots they should see if they are waiting for a curbside order not just ignore them. read more

Took our order online and showed up to a store full of employees with a hand-written note on the door saying it was closed. Never have gotten a response about that, they still have my money. Good food. Fast, friendly service. Clean bathrooms. All-you-can drink coffee.

I would definitely recommend the soups and salads. The paninis are good, however I find that the cold sandwiches are usually sloppy. Today I decided to try a cold sandwich one more time. My sandwich was made with the end of the loaf of bread flipped over as if I wouldn't notice! The broccoli cheddar soup was delicious as usual, but I was not happy with the turkey avocado BLT sandwich. The service is usually pretty fast even with a long line. My soup/sandwich combination and a fountain drink cost me $11.70. A little pricey, but worth it if you're a soup lover like me! read more

Panera Bread - not the best sandwich... but the soup was delicious! - Sandwiches Near Me - Pinole, California

I ordered a classic chicken sandwich that was supposed to be served hot. It took a really long time to get our order. Finally the transponder signaled that the order was ready. The coffee decanter was empty and the clerk was too busy to see that it was replaced. When I tasted the sandwich it was cold and horrible tasting, like a piece of cardboard. There are too many people working here for this kind of service and poor food quality. I blame the management here. I Don't think that I'll be visiting Panera in Pinole again. The restaurant wasn't clean but that was probably due to the high volume of customers. But that's not really a good reason. Just trying to find something positive about this experience. read more

Stay away! This is the rudest, most incompetent restaurant. Ordered @ 10:15. Was promised my order would be ready by 11:23. Got there at 11:20 - no order. What's worse, the restaurant didn't even have my order (much less have it ready)! Showed them the order confirmation, didn't make any difference. Horrible and unprofessional customer service. Ordered my usual u pick 2 chipotle chicken sandwich with a green goddess salad during my lunch break today but got stingy servings of chicken and a salad container dirty with smashed avocados. The girl at the front was rolling her eyes at me and giving me attitude to get me to leave when I was trying to show her how little chicken was on my sandwich than usual. Another employee offered to make me a new one, I agreed and waited. Employees went to the back, began chit-chatting, and forgot my request for a new sandwich. When the manager saw me waiting she remembered and instead of making me a new sandwich, she offered to have me pay extra for chicken and put it on my sandwich myself. She was trying to be nice but I was done at that point and gave her back my food for a refund, not over the chicken but over the complete waste of time. No point in supporting an establishment that hires rude employees and fails to be considerate of a customer's time. This has got to be the worst Panera location. Never again. They were trying to get me to pay extra for more chicken to save from making me a new one, thinking they were making a profit , but in the end they lost more and future customers. For example, after heading back to work, I shared my experience and showed the picture to my co-workers and they will no longer be visiting there either. read more

Update for today 2/21/19- did an online order and it was ready on the shelf when I got there! Very nice....BUT...... We ordered 3 soups, 1 salad, 3 sandwiches.... and it was put in the smallest bag! I grabbed the bag and walked to my car. As I stretched out my arm to put the bag on the seat, the bag ripped in to 3 pieces..!!! How? Anyway, I went back in and asked for a new bag at the counter. I said, "Can I get a new bag, mine ripped in to 3 pieces." The girl looks at me, bends over, and rudely hands me a beautiful big bag with a handle. Why wasn't my HUGE order put in this bag from the beginning? Weeeiiiiird................
