Now let me preface this review with the fact that I Actually love panara and would choose it over any fast food establishment. Unfortunately this location has failed me time and time again. About two weeks ago I came here with my family for dinner after a long day at work and no desire to think about what to have for dinner. Everything on the menu was out due to a large catering order earlier that day. They had no white bread, no Mac n cheese, they were unwilling to sub the buttered noodles. It was a complete mess. We ended up paying almost $70 for a dinner that none of us liked because it was nothing we wanted. The kids grilled cheese was made twice and both times is was a brick. Tasteless and impossible for my two year old to eat. They did refund the sandwich after making it twice, but they never offered a free Pastry as noted on their receipts. The other day I tried to order breakfast online and everything was sold out and it was only 9 AM. When I complain to corporate they sent me an email stating they were sorry that I had a bad experience blah blah blah. clearly no one read my email. read more

Was planning to stop at In-N-Out Burger, but the veggie options for my wife is limited to the grilled cheese off their secret menu. Saw this place and figure they might have a better option for my wife and they did. Atmosphere - Bakery Restaurant meets fast food. Very modern and clean feel to the place. My daughter wanted to sit next to the fire place but it was putting off way too much heat for me to be comfortable. Food Drinks - I order a soft drink. I am glad I did not want a Pepsi as that was not working, and they knew it as it had a note on the nozzle. I had the Mt Dew for the caffeine as I still had a long drive in front of me. My Meal Main Course - I ordered the Steak with White Cheddar Panini. The bread was grilled flat with the Panini press. I think I would have liked the sandwich better if the bread was not pressed. The sandwich also came with grilled onions which I loved. Service - Fast food with each item made fresh for you. The best part is real silverware. They give you a pager after you order and you pick up your food after it goes off. With three people I could have used a tray for the three meals. Good place to have sandwich, soup, salad, or mix the items to do half and half. Love their Roasted Turkey & Caramelized Kale Panini and Steak & Arugula Sandwich. For salad, I would recommend their Mediterranean Quinoa Salad or Chicken Soba Noodle Salad with peanut sauce. I do like their Broccoli Cheddar Soup and Bistro French Onion Soup. I mainly come here to order their "pick two" items. They have an outdoor patio, but the only view you will see are cars on the street and parking spaces. Limited parking spaces for this store, but can park next to Wells Fargo Bank. So far that I have gone, had no problems with customer service. Helpful with their menu items offered and did have friendly staff to take my order. Quality of the food I ordered had been great. As far as my overall experience, I find it convenient when I want to order a sandwich, soup, or salad. I felt content with what was ordered, but not really enthusiastic of the store however. read more

I came here for tea and coffee and the new person who works there is very nice but not trained well charged me for soda instead of tea. She apologized but didn't know how to correct it. Someone else who stepped in to help tried to convince me that the tea and soda costed the same but the sign clearly said the prices in big letters and there is a big price difference between the two. I asked for green tea and they made me iced tea. I was told that they had decaf coffee but they had to brew it fresh because they stopped making decaf later in the day. Why would you discontinue decaf when it gets closer to bedtime and people are planning to sleep soon? I waited about 15 minutes for the decaf coffee and and had to explain what tea was for another 10 minutes. A total of 25 minutes lost when I could have been enjoying drinks with my friend. The carpet here is really dirty. Panera needs to work harder on training new staff and cleaning their restaurant. We had to clean up someone else's table in order to sit down. This could have been a nice place but it's not. read more

The customer base is extremely rude to the staff. Happened all three times I ate here. Rude people all around here. Tip: don't be rude to people who make your food. Really. It's taken me well over six months to finally try this new Panera location since its opening last November/December. I'm a huge Panera fan, specifically the 3rd & King location by AT&T Park. I was hoping to have the same stellar experience but after reading some of the reviews, I lowered my expectations. Nevertheless, I hyped it up to my mom, especially the new Shrimp Salad Roll which was simply perfect when I tried it before a Giants game. As we walked in, I was impressed with what they did with the only Blockbuster space. The dining area is split into two sections and is very cafe like with booths and tables. With two ladies ordering in front of us, I was able to explain the YouPick2 to my mom, but I noticed the cashier seemed lost. Is she new? Is it like this all the time? After taking their order, she disappeared to the back and another new(?) and confused employee helped us. We both ordered the same thing: Shrimp Salad Roll w/ Asian Sesame Chicken Salad and a baguette as our site and two regular drinks. With two hours before closing, I feared they weren't going to have any more shrimp, but they did, but they were all out of avocado which is a shame. The meal came out to $31. Pricey. But it's a lot of food. As we waited for our food, I over heard no more shrimp rolls, so we were lucky in that respect. No more than 10 minutes later our order was called and it was plenty of food as expected. I really pumped up this sandwich to my mom and was hopoing to have a similar expereince. After a few bites, it was clearly not the same. No avocodo. And barely any lemon tarragon mayo on the New England roll. The shrimp on the other hand was just fine in comparison. Given that this is the second time I've had the roll, I think Panera should have gone with a different bread as its a little too fluffy for the shrimp and veggies. No need to compare the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad as it was just as good as every other location, but did need some extra dresssing. What do I think of Pinole's Panera Bread? It's not perfect, just like Hilltop. The people were friendly for the most part, but they don't really care what they're doing. It's just a (small) pay check. A sandwich with missing ingredients and a salad that needed more dressing equals to a three star experience. It's been over six months since Panera opened and I wonder if they'll ever fine tune this otherwise healthy and tasty cafe chain. SERVICE - Not so great. I stood at the register for a few minutes and I KNOW the worker saw me, but still made me wait for her while she continued to talk with her coworkers. FOOD - I don't know how to rate this given that all Panera's pretty much serve the same food, but I ordered the CHICKEN tortellini pasta and they definitely gave me HAM. Panera produces some good tasting creations, but they are only fooling some of us into thinking they operate a real kitchen back there. I ordered chicken tortellini, which was damn good flavor wise but not impressive otherwise. Allow me to explain... A SMALL chunk of chicken was just thrown on top of my pasta like a garnish (rather than an ingredient). Check out the pic I uploaded if you're curious how small. Not only that but some of my pasta was warm and some was cold. How many microwaves you got back there Panera?!! Smh Lemonade was good even if it came out of a plastic foodservice container. Fancy!! OMG!!! super expensive and horrible customer service! I called the phone number to put in my phone order, but no body picked up after 10 rings... So I drove to the store order cup of soup, a turkey sandwich and a steak lettuce wrap... That was over $23 (rip off). When I got back to work, I was pissed! I opened the bag to find a sloppy turkey sandwich with tomato's and onions on it, even though I asked for NO tomato and onion. Then I opened up their "Steak lettuce Wrap".. It was NOT a wrap. This is a uncut salad, not a wrap. I drove back and asked the manager to make it into a lettuce wrap, like I ordered.... She said they don't and won't do that. Apparently when they don't cut the lettuce, they call it a wrap. What a joke!!!! If I wanted a salad I would have ordered a salad. Someone needs to teach these guys how to make a real lettuce wrap! I literally just picked up my food. A half grilled cheese sandwich and this is what I get? The bread isn't even, like they ran out of bread and just stuck whatever piece was left. They also forgot to include a side of bread that's included with the meal, so they must've ran out of bread. The cheese inside is burnt and isn't even evenly coated on the sandwich. It looks like something I can make myself, but even I can make it better. Did they even try? I was really craving tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. I tried to call the store to speak to a manager because this is unacceptable. But of course, the line is busy and no one wants to pick up the phone. Lots of negative reviews on this location, but I had an enjoyable experience here. Dropped by here with some friends before heading into the city around 6:30pm at night. The place was not that busy and we were able to order our food quickly. I ordered the you pick two meal grabbing a Fuji apple salad and the broccoli cheddar in a bread bowl. This is kinda my go to meal at Panera and it was just as good as any other location. Overall, consistent food and a decent staff I would consider coming back to this location if I'm ever in the area. read more

I called after waiting for 10 mins and that's what the girl said on the phone she also said she doesn't know how it works when you order curbside. So they don't make curbside a priority and they also don't train their staff on how things work or should. Went again and got the kid's meal with turkey chili. Found a huge wad of wood in the chili after my toddler spit it out in my hand. I ordered a classic chicken sandwich that was supposed to be served hot. It took a really long time to get our order. Finally the transponder signaled that the order was ready. The coffee decanter was empty and the clerk was too busy to see that it was replaced. When I tasted the sandwich it was cold and horrible tasting, like a piece of cardboard. There are too many people working here for this kind of service and poor food quality. I blame the management here. I Don't think that I'll be visiting Panera in Pinole again. What's worse, the restaurant didn't even have my order (much less have it ready)! Showed them the order confirmation, didn't make any difference. Horrible and unprofessional customer service. Ordered my usual u pick 2 chipotle chicken sandwich with a green goddess salad during my lunch break today but got stingy servings of chicken and a salad container dirty with smashed avocados. The girl at the front was rolling her eyes at me and giving me attitude to get me to leave when I was trying to show her how little chicken was on my sandwich than usual. Another employee offered to make me a new one, I agreed and waited. Employees went to the back, began chit-chatting, and forgot my request for a new sandwich. When the manager saw me waiting she remembered and instead of making me a new sandwich, she offered to have me pay extra for chicken and put it on my sandwich myself. She was trying to be nice but I was done at that point and gave her back my food for a refund, not over the chicken but over the complete waste of time. No point in supporting an establishment that hires rude employees and fails to be considerate of a customer's time. This has got to be the worst Panera location. Never again. They were trying to get me to pay extra for more chicken to save from making me a new one, thinking they were making a profit , but in the end they lost more and future customers. I would definitely recommend the soups and salads. The paninis are good, however I find that the cold sandwiches are usually sloppy. Today I decided to try a cold sandwich one more time. My sandwich was made with the end of the loaf of bread flipped over as if I wouldn't notice! The broccoli cheddar soup was delicious as usual, but I was not happy with the turkey avocado BLT sandwich. The service is usually pretty fast even with a long line. At Panera their Soup is very delicious and I'm not much of a fan of the sandwiches. Their cookies and treats are delicious. Their service is something I'm not so sure about... Sometimes they don't work super fast and smoothly. When they have side conversations it distracts them from their work. I grabbed the bag and walked to my car. As I stretched out my arm to put the bag on the seat, the bag ripped in to 3 pieces..!!! How? Anyway, I went back in and asked for a new bag at the counter. I said, "Can I get a new bag, mine ripped in to 3 pieces." The girl looks at me, bends over, and rudely hands me a beautiful big bag with a handle. Why wasn't my HUGE order put in this bag from the beginning? Weeeiiiiird................ To make up for it, the sweet guy at the counter who got me my blueberry scpne and souffle was really nice and on "it".. he even had me put in my number and I got the scone for free!
