Deep sigh. I usually love the Nick the Greek but the last time. My bowl was incredibly disappointing the rice was very undercooked and the meat was CHUNKY rather than sliced. Even the fries were under seasoned. I'm thinking the cooks were just having a bad day. On the plus side, customer service is always friendly.
A solid late-night option with generous portions and well-seasoned food. Stopped by Nick the Greek tonight with BB after observing the memorial of Jesus' death and was glad to see they're open until 11. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy and service was great. We had a chance to talk with Sam, the sister of the owner, who was really sweet and very knowledgeable about both the restaurant and the menu. We ordered the combination souvlaki plate, which came with steak and chicken skewers, yellow rice, Greek salad, diced tomatoes and cucumbers, and tzatziki sauce on the side. The kebabs were well cooked and flavorful, and the rice was tender. Portions are generous -- we ended up sharing the plate. The Greek salad had a nice tangy flavor with feta, olives, tomatoes, red onions, and lettuce, which balanced well with the rest of the meal. Parking can be a little hectic, so plan ahead. Overall, a solid spot with good portions and friendly service. Looking forward to coming back, especially since the Mediterranean bowl is now a regular menu item!! *Early-Congrats on opening your 2nd location on Lakeshore*
I got the soulvaki I think it's called. It had steak and chicken with salad and fries. Everything looked fresh and tasted so good. The tomatoes were delicious! Since the Dave's Hot Chicken just opened a few doors down, I wanted to choose a healthier option and came to Nick's. They were kind and friendly. Another person who wanted a healthier food choice came in while I was there. Again, everything tasted so good. I will be back. Thank you
Super quick. Convenient, healthy options. I love the kids menu and yogurt selections. The rice is so flavored and my kids love the kabobs. The yogurt and honey is my favorite
I always get delivery from this Nick the Greek and it's always solid. Good portions and they can put the sauce on the side if you're not eating immediately. I like the bowls because it's a good mix of greens, rice, and meat.
Aug 21, 2025 3.5 stars Our first visit. We stopped by for a Falafel Pita and a Lamb Gyro. Lamb has always been a big deal to me and I'm looking forward to this.. The cashier informs that the Gyro with lamb only comes with lamb and beef together. I agreed to the Lamb\Beef. I'll just seperate the lamb and beef at my table. The two items plus a Coke was $30.87. Not bad. The inside of the restaurant was a little hectic with two thirds of the tables seated with to-go food people. There is a man running back and fourth hectically, wearing jeans and an older T-shirt and a backwards baseball cap. I wonder if he works here? Our food is brought to us by the T-shirt man. Apparently he works here. He is hard working and very friendly but in my opinion he shouldnt be working in food service dressed as I dressed while working farm labor. My Wife digs into her Falafel with gusto. She says it tasts OK. I'm impressed with the size and weight of my Gyro. The sandwich is too wide for my mouth so I pull some meat out with my fork. Hum. I can't tell if this bite is beef or lamb? The texture is a little off as well. Sort of a processed food texture like faux bacon maybe or like well done fried spam? I eat further in through tomatoes and a few French fries and more meat. My wife won't eat lamb but wants a taste of my beef. We don't know what slice of meat is what so she goes without. I finish all the meat. Each slice tasted the same as the others. Hold On Chad P. The taste of these slices in my Gyro are bringing back a childhood memory. I was a Teenager-TV dinners- What is this taste on my tongue? YES! SALISBURY STEAK! It has a taste and texture of a 1970's TV dinner Salisbury steak. It seems as if Nick The Greek is serving up a lamb\beef blended together meat product. Big Disappointment. We were thanked for our business on the way out the door by that hard working friendly guy. That is something that too many establishments neglect to do. Good job on that! When I arrived home and looked at the on- line ordering details of this Beef and Lamb item, the description mentions something about this being a blend of meats. Unfortunately this information was not on the menu above the cashier.

Nick the Greek finally made it to Pinole! Located in the Trader Joe's parking lot and with inside seating this is the place to be . Lot of options from shwarmas, to gyros to Salads with different meat and veggie options . I love their Greek salad as well it's always fresh . Service is good and worth the effort. Recommended!
first time ordering food here, needed more explanations !! I ordered the veggie pita, there was good amount of zuccini, onions & mushrooms plus fries ??Tasty but very messy - so much sauce & stuff was falling out towards the end ... We had a wobbly table towards the rear of the restaurant -so annoying, I wanted to put a pita under the bad leg !!! This space is neat & long, Minimalist w/ grey tones & Greek words ... The platter had pita slices on the bottom under the chicken & not so fresh fries on the side... it came w/a small side salad... our food was unceremoniously dumped on our wobbly table, no explanations ( we couldn't figure out who the salad belonged to ?) The food was ok, I might cOme back to try the falafel... The baklava was disappointing - flat, solid & heavy, hard to cut, not light & fluffy like I was expecting, but still tasty ....
I recently had an experience at Nick the Greek that truly exceeded my expectations. We ordered two bowls; one with rice and one without, but unfortunately, I made a mistake with the order. My daughter called the restaurant and spoke to a lovely young lady named Suma. She was incredibly understanding and invited us to come back so she could remake our order. When we returned, Suma was there and went above and beyond for us. She rushed our order and even took the time to step outside to apologize to my husband, who was waiting in the car. This thoughtful gesture meant a lot to us, especially since he is a disabled veteran. Suma's kindness and willingness to accommodate us made a significant difference in our experience. Thank you, Suma, for going the extra mile! We truly appreciate your dedication to customer service and will definitely be back.
It's my 2nd time coming here and love their Souvlaki Plate Combo with steak and chicken. Friendly staff and prices of menu are reasonable. Truly recommend this place to try! :-)
Nicks just recently opened in Pinole and because of my absolute love of Greek food I had to check it out. The people working the counter and the cooks are very friendly and accommodating to changes. They really seem like they enjoy their spot in this place. The restaurant seating area and kitchen look very clean and organized. I had the chicken souvlaki pita and the Nicks French fries. and my wife had the hummus and pita with the yummy froyo as a treat. It was hot and delicious. I will return and try other menu items soon.

Nick The Greek in Pinole surely have plenty of people calling in their orders for pick up. If I was to dine inside I would had been the only person eating. I have to say that the Pinole location is different from Concord. What I first notice about Pinole location is that there is a restroom compare to Concord. When I have dine inside the Concord location I would have to go outside to use the public restroom in The Veranda. The Pinole location saves me from using the restroom at Trader Joe. I had the Greek Burger combo. It was worth the 8 minute wait for the burger. It tasted so good. The fries were great compare to eating the ones at Five Guys. I always get delivery from this Nick the Greek and it's always solid. Good portions and they can put the sauce on the side if you're not eating immediately. I like the bowls because it's a good mix of greens, rice, and meat. read more

I love me a good gyro. This place is a chain so I didn't go in with high expectations but it was a decent gyro. Needed more tzatziki sauce and I could live without the added fries inside but not bad for a chain restaurant. read more

This was a bad experience at Nick the Greek. It was our first time here and I was excited to try their limited edition chocolate shell froyo. My husband got the froyo with honey and baklava. Any topping is a dollar extra so our two froyos were $14. The owner made our froyo and it took about 20 minutes. We sat there waiting because the froyo machine was not ready. She also explained to me that there's something wrong with the temperature and the chocolate wasn't covering my froyo. What I got look like a bird pooped on my froyo. Instead of a hard chocolate shell, I got messy clumps everywhere that made it hard to eat. It was like eating a hard chocolate bar and trying to eat froyo at the same time. Not to mention that it was aesthetically hard on eye that it made it very unappetizing. We also ordered a side of falafels to go. This place is not cheap as two froyos and one side of falafels were over $20. It was a very long wait. As I was leaving, the owner gave me a handwritten coupon to come back for a free froyo explaining that it was not supposed to be like that. She gave me a small sample of how it was supposed to taste like. I wish my froyo tasted like the sample but unfortunately I spent half an hour waiting for a misshapen froyo. :( read more

First off, great food! Now a little more detailed... Nick The Greek is located in the shopping center near Trader Joe's and next to Chipotle. There's plenty of parking but this is a rough parking lot with the Trader Joe's being there. You'll find parking but the traffic flow is rough with the lights. This spot is small and has a few tables and seats inside. You order at the counter and food will be brought to you or you can order for takeout. Great prices for really tasty and fresh tasting food! We ordered the pork belly gyro pita and the beef/lamb pita. The meat was full of flavor and the fresh veggies allowed for a great flavor combo along with the tzatziki sauce! They put plenty of sauce on there which made this sauce girlie happy! Plus a couple of fries are throw into the mix and it adds for a happy bite. Give this place a try! read more

We were very happy to finally have Nick the Greek closer to us, but I was a little disappointed. The meats were good: pork and chicken were all juicy and tasty but the lamb was a bit lacking in flavor. The rice was really dry. The gyro plate definitely seem more worth it than a salad. The Greek salad entree didn't really have much veggies in it, about the same amount of veggie as the side salad! And also the Greek salad was over dressed and drenched in sauce on the bottom. If I go again I would only get the gyros and the gyro plates, those seem like better deals. Service was fine. Restaurant was clean. Bathroom was clean. Easy parking in the shopping center except during dinner time. On a side note, their catering seems to be pretty good. My company catered from them before and everything was fresh and portion size seems pretty good. read more

Food here is always very tasty and love that the ingredients taste very fresh especially on the fries those seasonings are so good. I've had the nicks fries with lamb/beef every time but today I decided to get it with chicken souvlaki and I'm liking it a lot more with the chicken. They cut it a little smaller which I like it makes it easier to eat. Never have to wait long here but I also only really order online and pick up because I normally get it for lunch or for the family dinner for the night. Were craving this place at least once a week at this point lol I had previously given this place a lower rating because of a gripe with portions (one order out of 6 times so it was definitely a one off thing but bought that as gifts for coworkers) and they reached out and very very kindly refunded my order without me even asking, I respect their commitment and it's impeccable customer care/service. read more
