Cashiers constantly get orders wrong and overcharge and the sand which I most recently ordered had so much horseradish it was inedible. Panera is a great place to get food but this one should be avoided. Go the the one across town it's far better. read more

We went there on 10/22/2017, at approx. 6pm. First, the "one line to serve them all" has got to go - the line stretched out the door, and it was raining. Second, your cashier was on thisside of being completely incompetent - couldn't answer questions, couldn't hear names, not asking for my Panera card, etc. Third, she tells us "we're out of a lot of stuff" - and this is NORMAL for this location, as they're always out of stuff. This time it was "we're out of bread," and I think she meant the side rolls for the soup, but she clearly said "we're out of bread." Now, other times when they're out of side rolls, they offer to cut of the white bread loaves for side bread - but not this time. Fourth, we got our buzzer to let us know when our food was "ready" - and it never went off. Why bother giving them out if you don't even use them? So, by the time we got our food, it was cold (and cold French Onion soup tastes like crap, btw). Fifth, the tables all over the restaurant were filthy. I get it's a Sunday night, but it was like someone had crumbled up Saltines, gotten them wet, and smeared it everywhere. Sixth, I find it beyond RUDE to ask for tips at a place that's just thisside of being a buffet. No one comes and takes my order at the table, you don't deliver the food to my table, the restaurant isn't clean, the food is just thisside of subpar, etc. Overall, the service and quality were beyond piss poor. This is probably our last time going to this location of Panera, because they're "always out of a lot of stuff" and the rest of what I wrote above is all too common here. Staff didn't ask if we wanted bread, chips, or an apple with our orders, and we forgot to proactively tell them, so we all ended up with bread. They forgot to give us the milk we ordered with the kids meal. Finally in the women's restroom, the container for used feminine products has NO LID. This is completely disgusting. There's also no clearance between the edge of the toilet and the door which swings in, so my legs were mashing against the toilet bowl as I tried to get out (and I am a skinny chica!) The parking lot is cramped with no signage as well. You think for such a large panera, they would have upgraded their facilities by now. read more

I love Panera and this is probably the worst one I've ever visited. The bread was horrible- like cheap grocery store quality and filled with sugar. The ceaser salad was also pretty bad with Asiago cheese crisps coating the top and kale throughout. Though both of those are usually pretty good, they somehow manage to make it really bad. What happened to the fresh Asiago cheese scraping? Lastly, there is practically no dressing on the salad. I decided to break my diet for this and it was thoroughly disappointing. Went there on Sunday afternoon and was not too pleased with the overall store cleanliness. My table as well as many others were not cleaned. Stayed for about 1 hour and saw two employees bussing tables but I didn't see anyone wiping down tables. I witnessed several guests sitting down at dirty tables. Please train your staff. read more

It was my first time at Panera.Wasn't sure what to order Got that 2 fer thing half a sandwich and a cup of soup But got a surprise the soup was pretty good but my steak sandwich had very little meat on it Didn't think the half sandwich would be a half ounce of meat talk about skimpy on the meat ate half the sandwich before ate any meat then it didn't have any taste But sauce they put on it was good it wasn't worth $5.89 same with the amount soup you get $3.89 But hey you get all the soda you can drink for $2.79. I felt ripped off $12.57 plus tax But I did also get nice piece hard crusted French bread. Tried something different was pretty disappointing read more

Parking is crazy- some one way drives that I missed being from out of state. Basic menu and solid service. Appreciated that they didn't slice the bagels automatically. Not sure how I feel about the calories being on the menu! read more

I am a huge fan of Panera and am always satisfied with my purchase. Although today I went through the drive-thru and ordered three items. I was in the middle of a call and I carelessly drove away without confirming that my order was correct after receiving it. Soon after I checked I drove back through to inform them orders were switched up and they apologized. While I waited in the backed up line the young lady on drive through named Fabiola apologized once again and I had expressed to her I may have to be reimbursed another time because I was almost late to work. Then she asked me to wait a minute and she came outside with my order and a complimentary cookie for my troubles! I am so happy to support such an amazing company that truly goes above and beyond for their customers. :) read more

This review has nothing to do with Panera's quality of food or their instore customer service. So I'm seeing billboards and ads that Panera now delivers. All you have to do is down load the app. Sounds wonderful. I download the app, put my current location in and it says they don't deliver to my area. The billboard I saw was 2 blocks from where I work...on a main busy area of Bloomington IL. Confusing for sure. Sorry I got my hopes up. read more

Panera is the most amazing bakery I have ever been to. They have amazing food and it has an amazing bakery. There has been one time where the staff was very rough with us and I feel like they didn't listen to what I was saying, and it is a tad expensive, but it has delicious food and I am still giving five stars. I would like to preface my review by saying the food is great but the service at this particular location could not be worse. I understand that on occasion, something gets messed up and I am very tolerant of somebody making a one time mistake. However, my orders from this location have been messed up the last three times in a row. If I have had such problems from them for three visits in a row I could only imagine the other stories other customers have from dealing with this poor service. I am becoming increasingly annoyed with this Panera Bread. I'm wondering if the quality of their food is taking a backseat to all the recent changes they've made to the restaurant. Every time I go here, I order soup. That's what I like. But the recent times I've been, the soup is always COLD. I always have to use the microwave to heat it up. The reason I'm writing this review is because of the stupid little sticker they have attached to the microwave, which reads something like "We don't believe restaurants should have microwaves, and if it were up to us it wouldn't even be here. But we realize that sometimes you may like to warm something up." Yeah...how bout sometimes I'd like the food I purchase from you to be at a proper temperature for eating. Then I might not need to use your microwave! However, I will say that when their soup is served hot, it is absolutely delicious! The chicken and wild rice is my all-time favorite. And I love, love their honey walnut spread! I buy it to use at home on store bought bagels. One other issue is the parking. It's super crowded, and often difficult to find a spot...especially after removing several spots to make way for the drive through. read more

Visited last night looking to enjoy some dinner on a cold evening. The service was OK but not friendly. The staff was more interested in talking among themselves than helping the customers. The place was dirty. Tables were not cleaned. Staff were out on the floor visiting with friends but not doing the minimal to keep the place looking presentable. The restrooms were dirty. I've been here THREE TIMES NOW where they have been on out bread on a chilly night. REALLY? You are Panera BREAD. I'm not usually one to write reviews, but this is ridiculous. They also have been out of broccoli cheddar soup? before. I could see this maybe happening once due to a huge crowd or something but if your bread is baked daily can't you just bake some more?!? I have been consistently disappointed in my experience at this Panera location. I'm a huge fan of the food that is served, but the customer service has been terrible. During Christmas, when I wanted to purchase gift cards - the cashier told me I needed to come back at a later time. The visit after that, I ordered a Thai Chicken broth bowl and go the Thai Chicken Salad. It was good and I just ate it without complaint. Last night, I was in the drive-thru and the cashier couldn't get a gift card that expires in 3 days to work. Rather than offering to figure it out or get a manager, he just said "sorry, I can't get this to work" and asked me for alternative payment. I asked him a few questions about why it wouldn't work and he offered absolutely no help or alternative. I was late, so just paid and moved on. His rudeness and unwillingness to offer any help in that situation was the final straw. The sandwich I got was tasty, but if I had been choosing it on appearance, would have thrown it away. It looked like they dumped the pieces together and threw it on a plate...and I paid $12.00 for that and a side salad! I have no other way to express my frustration during my last 3 visits, so am resorting to angry yelping. I will be spending my dollars elsewhere. I've always enjoyed Panera Bread's salads and soups and my family enjoys their sandwiches. But the Normal location has problems with their drive thru. Every time I go there, I get back to work with my lunch and something is missing. The egg from my salad was left out. This time, they forget the chicken on my Fuji Apple Chicken salad. How can they forget main protein items in their salads? I contacted Panera corporate regarding the egg that was forgotten and they gave me $5 towards my reward card. I contacted them again regarding the chicken that was forgotten and I'm sure they'll email me soon as they do reply regarding your concerns. But I don't want anything from them. I'm just not going back there again as I'm so disappointed. This Panera does not have beef either and they always forget to ask for my rewards card. Every single time! I will give my business to Jason's Deli for now on. I've NEVER had these issues with Jason's Deli and their servings are much, much larger, they give you a pickle with every sandwich along with chips and a mint. Also, Jason's Deli has a fresh salad bar all you can eat for under $9 or one trip for under $5. Panera in Normal and Bloomington - get it together! A salad and cup of soup for $16, no drink and you get to your destination missing main ingredients. Bad business. read more

While on the road trip we stopped at this location for quick bit at 7pm. We decided on Panera, two out of three of us wanted to try the new Broth Bowls. They were out of broth. It would not be a big deal if the broth bowls were not their new hot item, spot light of all their ongoing commercials, big posters on every window. Then you go to the cashier and you get "we are out of broth" and keep staring at you with indifferent gaze. Didn't even try to pretend to be apologetic. I've only had their bakery items, not the meals like salads or whatnot. The cinnamon crunch bagels are great, but that's because they are nearly 10 ounces and chocked with sugar and fat. I also enjoy the asiago cheese bagels, and whenever they have the peanut butter banana nut special bagel. I ate a scone a long time ago, and it was OK - definitely not worth the astronomical price I paid. The booths are large and comfortable, the music is not so loud, free internet, large tables available too, clean. I would simply suggest going in the morning, because the bagels do dry out by evening, and there is rarely a cinnamon crunch bagel left in the evening. They also have a tendency to overcook the bagels (pre-made nightly or weekly - not from scratch every morning), so one should point out the least cooked bagel for pickin's. Bagels ran $0.75 a year ago when I was in there last, and 18 with cream cheese for somewhere around $10-12. Sometimes the service can be slow as well, but be aware that until Illinois forces them to change labor practices, those poor counter people make $6-6.25 an hour to start and raises don't happen for at least 6 months. read more

Stopped in because I hadn't had Panera for awhile and went here mainly for Bagels when I was younger. They have since transitioned into a large menu that is somewhat confusing. I ordered the chicken soba noodles with a turkey bacon sandwich for just under $13 and had a seat. Not but seconds later I was called by my name across the room to be told that they were out of the soup I ordered and was given several other options none of which included a protein and was then told you can go get your money back if you like. Settled for the edamame soba noodles took a seat and then was called back up by my name seconds later to pick up my order. Food was just ok nothing special definitely lacked flavor in both soup and sandwich. I still am confused as to why they gave me a buzzer when they yelled my name across the dining room twice. It appears as if they have a lot of ppl standing around, maybe they should bring the food to the table? Overall the atmosphere is nice, customer service is a bust, a little pricey for what you get.
