Best Crab Rangoon I've ever had. I moved away and still crave having a meal there. Hot Wok isn't comparable.

This is a busy place for take-out, although they have a decent sized dining room. You order at the counter. Portions are large. I had way too much food for one person. I had the triple Mongolian. It was good but an excessive amount of onions and so much sauce it was nearly soupy. The fried rice didn't have peas or carrots (which is a plus for me) but it wasn't overly flavorful. Overall the food was just ok. I wouldn't get the same thing again. They have Pepsi products in the fountain and bottles in the fridge. read more

Stopped in for a quick and inexpensive dinner. I ordered the General Tso combination with fried rice and my wife ordered the Orange Chicken with fried rice. We dined in because we don't live in the area. Our food was served, and I say served in the loosest sense of the term, in the take out containers. We also had to ask for the drinks we paid for. Opening the containers revealed the same looking contents, soggy chicken and dried out fried rice. There was absolutely no difference in the General Tso and Orange Chicken, it was the same soggy chicken. General Tso Chicken is supposed to be dark meat chicken, fried, crispy then tossed in a sweet and spicy saucy, not chicken scraps that had been fried 12 hours earlier then subjected to drowning in a sweet sauce with zero spice. The rice was dry, lacking any flavor. The egg roll was also a disappointment, as I could have prepared a better alternative with a trip to Aldi and an air fryer. The crab Rangoon was the only small bright spot in this meal, but then again, I've had worse, I've had better. The true insult was the cost of this meal, $40.00! Someone with a cookbook, an air fryer and some groceries could make a better meal with less money. Neither one of us finished our meal and without regrets left the poor excuse for a dinner behind without so much of a thank you from the proprietor or their help. If you want to spend a large sum of money with equal regret, then this is your place. read more

Omg. If I could give this restaurant a 100000/10 I would this food is amazing. I got a beef lo mean bowl and it was an amazing proportion and I ate the whole thing !!! The driver was good as well. This was alright- I either loved or hated what I got. We got fried pork dumplings, crab Rangoons, general tso's with fried rice and sweet and sour chicken with pork lo mein. The fried pork dumplings and sweet and sour chicken are a MUST!! The dumplings are warm, crispy, like getting a warm hug, and the sweet and sour chicken is crunchy but large chicken breast pieces. The crab rangoons were good! They have an awesome amount of filling, I'd get them again but if I could tweak anything there, would be to add more crab, as I could really only taste cream cheese. The general tso's was alright, along with the fried rice. The pork lo mein was a huge let down. It was soggy, the noodle shape was a little weird, so overall, we didnt eat it. Additionally, if you are dining in, it is quite confusing about how to get your order. We were never instructed if we needed to wait for a number to be called, they were bringing it to us, etc. They were calling out numbers so we weren't sure. My boyfriend went up to ask and waited ( awkwardly and ignored ) for a couple minutes before they told him they'd bring it to us. Not sure if they forgot about our order. We went on a sunday around 5 so perhaps they were busy with to-go orders. Personally, I didn enjoy dining in though. I placed an order here on 5/31/23 and my egg foo young was the worst I've had from here the gravy was watered down and had no taste to it. It was just horrible. My order totaled about $21 and they offered me a $5 credit or bring back the rest for a possible refund. No Way, that SUCKS! Don't order from here they don't stand behind their food! read more

This is solid food - better than *** Maybe not **** but a def **** They delivered. Late Sunday nite not a ton of options. Food came in half hour. Very hot. Broccoli beef gravy very good and fried rice. Chicken wings had a good sweet sauce and egg rolls were crispy and crab rangoons I didn't order but were tasty. Average crap bland greasy fast food Chinese for reasonable (not cheap) prices. Massive portion sizes will make you fall asleep at your desk. Minimal spice, so if you are sensitive to spicy stuff, you may confidently order away. Their menus on the back wall/counter are needlessly vague and generally without prices. I have been there half a dozen times and I still don't really understand what is a combo, what is a lunch special, or whether there is really a difference, other than one nets average crab rangoons. Just pick something, and get what you want with it. If its lunch time, you will likely spend less than $10. They might pack your 'for here' items in a to go package. They might tell you to sit down and they will deliver your food - but no napkins or plastic forks. Reading all of the above, it is easy to understand why this place gets one star. It is not easy to understand why I keep going back, however. read more

Quality is above average, considering their price and the fact I consider them as a fast food spot. They have their fan favorites ready to go (think Panda Express), else you can order off of their menu. I have been getting calls at least once a month from a delivery driver for an order I didn't submit. I have answered the phone multiple times to tell them they have the wrong number and ask that they ensure that they let the person making these orders know they need to update the contact number listed with the order. But alas, I still get a call every time they're trying to deliver an order that is not mine. This is two Fridays in a row now. Please do something about this. It's terribly inconvenient for me to keep getting these calls. I don't even live in Bloomington. read more

I was that the hospital across the street and really needed a quick bite to eat when I find this little restaurant they have a sign saying lunch special $ 4.95 so I thought I would check it out. I was pleasantly surprised the restaurant is clean and up-to-date it's a very nicely decorated the help is a wonderful informative very friendly while I was there I was talking to the counter girl and the one of the owners of the restaurant who grew up in the restaurant cuz his family is owned it for 28 years was telling me about the restaurant and I found this an extremely charming place and I can't wait to go back. I ordered the walnut shrimp with white rice which was really really wonderful the recipe they have is excellent and I am a Chinese food snob and I see that they have kind of like a buffet thing where you order and they serve you right then and there and the food looked wonderful broccoli is fresh and frozen all the vegetables are nicely cut the shrimp are huge I mean like three bites per shrimp it's humongous it looks fresh nicely cut nicely served food I think you will find it a pleasant place to try. read more

I really don't understand the lack luster reviews! I love this place. I've eaten Chinese in 40+ States and a number of different countries...everytime I'm in Bloomington/Normal, I come here. The first reviewers comment about the rice was right on. I've never gotten so much rice with an order. The meat options I got also had a strange taste, and the ample rice was not even very good. The food is not prepared to order, but rather sits in heating trays waiting for some one to order it. It's flavor reflects its treatment. Service was confused at best, unfriendly as worst. I tried to order from the menu but the basically ignored my order and just gave me the rice with two items. I came here for dinner and the restaurant had two other people in the entire place. I really like this place for SUPER FAST chinese food! I dont even call till I am 1/2 way there because of how fast it is. They usually say it will be ready in 5-10 min! It is one of two places I regularly go to for fast food. I dont really know what happened to the ones that didnt like it but I have NEVER had a bad meal here! read more

The food ordered was hot and tasted very good. I didnt know what to expect when i walked in and the already prepared food just kind of turned me off at the counter. Any place i go to that has food prepared like that at the counter and they just stand and stir it under heat lamps just doesnt look appetizing to me. TODAY, 08.25.21, I made a mistake and gave the delivewry driver 3 twenties when I should have given him 2 for my order, when I called for my money back - even thought I had given him a tip - when he came back first he tried to lie about the amount of money I gave him, then he threw me a 10 and started to curse me out - he called me Black, a Bi&ch, said he should have not given me back anything (which would make him a thief) and that he would tell the owners not to deliver to me again... I am sorry that they have employed such a person, I like Hot Wok but I don't trust the delivery person - yes I called the police and the resolution is what it is .... too bad this dirver has lost them a customer. I'm a regular at this place, but after trying different dishes I only go back for the dry chili chicken. Everything else has the same taste and slimy starch thickened texture.
