Jalapeño Popper Smash - wow was this burger yummy! The right amount of spice with a creamy cream cheese spread with cheddar cheese too! So so good the fries were crispy and crunchy just the way I like them. We also got the fried pickles and perfection - a light batter is my favorite! It's more of a bar, nice and clean. First time in Bloomington, Illinois, and I stopped into Smash House Tavern to catch a game for the weekend. What an awesome find! The ambience is great--clean, plenty of seating with high-tops, and a welcoming vibe. I sat at the bar, and the service was top notch. Big shoutout to Jo, an awesome bartender who kept the cold Modelos coming without me ever having to ask. Friendly and attentive staff all around made it a great experience. Food was solid too--I went with the turkey club and fries, which were a good portion and tasty. Prices were really fair, especially for the quality. What makes it even better is the fun extras: pool tables, dart boards, and slot machines. Perfect place to hang out, watch the game, and just relax. Smash House Tavern, Bloomington IL we sat at the bar this night and had a cold beer and food. Service was great, bartenders were friendly. On to food had some wings as it was $1 night, they were good. some of the better ones in B/N and the enjoyed a Chicken Parm sandwich, it was a crispy maybe a little too crispy chicken breast with mozzarella and a red sauce it wasn't bad at all. But the FRIES that came with it were OUTSTANDING. They were shoestring style with a covering of a garlic parm seasoning and they were perfection! Disappointing experience overall. We waited about 15 minutes before I finally got up and asked for menus. Even after receiving them and waiting longer, no one came by to take our order. Servers were coming and going but never acknowledged our table. Eventually, I had to get up and place our order at the bar. The bartender was the only positive - she was very friendly and helpful. While waiting for our food, I noticed the table next to us receive their food. The woman was served the wrong order-a burger that might have been mine- and after she touched it, I watched the server place that same burger back on the service table. Shortly after, a food runner picked it up and brought it to our table, which I immediately returned. Other than running food, no server ever checked on us or took responsibility for our table. The lack of service combined with the food-handling issue was extremely concerning and unacceptable. Unfortunately, this experience makes it hard to recommend or return to this restaurant. read more

Walked in to a clean, spacious restaurant with plenty of seating options; bar, high-tops, regular tables and even some outdoor. Nothing felt crowded, which made it easy to relax. On one wall is a row of dartboards and there are a number of TVs on the wall. The menu had a good variety, with wings, burgers, and salads to choose from. I went with the jalapeño popper burger with cream cheese and glad I did. The fries are shoestring style and tasted good. Although next time I got to see if I can get cheese on the fries. The waitstaff was attentive and quick without hovering. Solid spot all around and I will be back. read more

The food was fantastic, great atmosphere and service! The SOB smash burger was so good, I made it a double! The fries are cooked in beef tallow and are so flavorful! Drinks were really good. They have a great selection of bourbon drinks. Tons of televisions around the restaurant, lots of dart board games and pool tables. Also a nice patio. read more

Outrageously overpriced. $20 an hour for a game of pool! The way they treat staff there is unreal. They don't care about keeping customers and only what's going to make them a few dollars more if that means losing regular customers. Whole place is a joke. read more

I wanted to get smashburger in Bloomington Il because I miss going to the chain store that was closed up in 2017 on Veterans Parkway near HyVee grocery store. I read the reviews on this new smashburger sports bar place and was really enthusiastic until I read the reviews about the poor and aloof service staff, then the guy that watched to server deliver his burger order to a neighboring table then after handling the burger that table realized it was not their order so they sent in back, then the server brought the order that was was mis delivered to the neighboring table right on over to them AFTER the other people had handled the food! Just nuts what kind of dummies do the get to work at these places. I have now decided to just stay away from here and cook at home! This place won't last long with these truth reviews being posted! Food ok. Service, felt like I was an inconvenience to the bartender. For training purposes, an empty glass in front of a customer eating at the bar usually prompts a "can I get you another drink?" For our experience, she never made contact with us again after dropping off our food. Sorry we bothered you tonight. read more

Service was slow. Ordered nachos w/ chicken which were basically bag chips and cheese with a few jalapeños. Paid extra to add chicken which was not even heated...cold. Friends ordered burgers which looked good. read more

It has a LOT of potential. The food is good. Truly. Once we finally got service, she was wonderful. However, it took us going to bar multiple times to ask for someone to come take our order and that took over an hour worth of trying. They need to figure out a way to better manage their sections so they aren't leaving an entire room of people without service. There was a waitress seeing the only other table in the side we were on but she refused to even look towards us (we tried flagging her down to at least put in drink orders, but nope). Again, once someone finally started coming to us it was great. The other thing was the price of the pool tables. I know you need to make money, and I'm glad they have timed tables but they are way over priced. Every single person who walked in to play complained. I don't suspect it'll keep people coming if they are paying $10/30 min table. You may get two games if you're lucky. People also were having to ask others how to even pay. Add in having to pay every so often, people are less inclined to stay longer and spend more money. Have been to several pay by the hour pool places and none run this way. It'll end up costing in the long run. Either lower the price ($10/hr) or have promo nights where the pool tables are discounted significantly. I'd also suggest one or two quarter tables OR having the option to pay for one game, 30 min, or hour. Like I said at the beginning, it has a LOT of potential, but only if they adapt. We would love to be regulars but so far we wouldn't want to go back. read more

First time I had been back to check out the pool table area since it used to be Shooter's Lounge. I was trying to keep in contact when the ppol table area would be open and it took a long time to get a response back when they would be open. Prices to use pool table are $10 for 30 minutes which seems way over priced. Went there in late afternoon and there were no shades on the windows which causes sun to come through and effect vision on the tables. No waitress came back to check on area and we had to go up to bar to get drinks. Maybe the front lounge area is doing ok, but I have not experinced that yet. For those of us who like to play pool there really are not alot of options in Bloomington- Normal and Shooters use to be a great place to play pool. Granted this is a new owner of this establishment, but things need to be improved to draw in the regular croud of avid pool players and possibly league play as well. Hopefully things will improve. read more
