Visited for their meatloaf special several Monday's ago and was very impressed! The meatloaf was tasty with a brown gravy which is also perfect on the mashed potatoes. The lunch also comes with corn and a roll. Delicious and highly recommend. Beyond that, what I enjoy about this bar is the friendly staff. Very helpful and accommodating! What a great old, little bar/restaurant. We heard good things about the Friday fish fry and so off we went on a nice, country drive. The place is not much to look at. But the place was comfy with an exceptionally good fish fry, friendly bartender and locals hanging out. The Friday fish dinner choices: fried frog legs (only offered on the 1st Friday of the month), baked cod, or fried walleye (free refills on the walleye!). All dinners come with hush puppy, potato (fries, baked or twice baked) and one trip to the small, basic salad bar. We both went with walleye and twice baked. While waiting, we tried some draft beer and chatted with the bartender and owner a bit. The fish was perfectly seasoned, moist inside and crunchy breading outside. Alongside was a little cup of homemade tartar sauce. It was sooooo good, we were FORCED to pig out and get a second helping of the fish. :) And speaking of homemade, the twice baked potato was really awesome and the bartender says all their food is homemade including chicken tenders. We saw a burger come out and it looked amazing! One of the locals we chatted with told us we have to come back on a Saturday for the steak or BBQ rib special (and the 3rd Saturday of the month is surf & turf). Hands down my favorite place to eat/drink in the Bloomington-Normal area! Yes, it's a little drive, but it's a beautiful one, and one that I insist on making. I love sitting outside across from the silos - it just doesn't get anymore peaceful than this for me. This is a small bar/restaurant. It is very clean and well lit. The salad bar was the regular items and were fresh. The waitress was busy and mostly efficient, but didn't seem glad we were at her table. I ordered cod and a bake potato. My friend ordered the Walleye which was delicious. My cod was good, but was a very small portion compared to the walleye. It is a local crowd and the regulars come early. The special is the pork tenderloin which I will order next time. read more

Awww man, Longbranch AGAIN!? But seriously, where has this place been all my life? I find it difficult to find an amazing tenderloin. I had a tenderloin at the now defunct Two-K's Diner and it put me off to the whole idea of tenderloins for a while. I had one at the Rock and it warmed me up a bit. Longbranch made me realize why I enjoyed them in the first place. I love the whole tenderloin being gigantic compared to the bun. I posted a picture of my tenderloin so search it if you're not sure what I mean. The fires are good as well. My next quest is to try one of their burgers. Once I complete that task then I will review my score. They could earn 5 stars after my next visit! read more

Good food & a great price. Besides steak or ribs on Sat. my favorites are cheeseburger and tenderloin, and of course frog legs once a month on Friday. They also have breakfast during the week and once a month on Sunday it's a breakfast bar. All of the waitresses and barkeeps have excellent service. Come early or be prepared for a crowd. read more

If you want a great burger you have to try this place out. I got there after 2 and the cook was gone but the bartender offered to cook for me. I felt bad and said no but she wouldnt take no for an answer. She said i am not that busy so she took my order, got me my drink, and told me to go to a table and relax. I told her she should be the cook! The double bacon cheeseburger was HUGE and for only $1.00 more you got an abundance of fries. Let the picture do the talking! Last night I drove 250 miles to Colfax to watch my daughter play a Basketball game after they won the big game I wanted to take her and her boyfriend out to dinner to celebrate, it was 9:00 pm everything in Colfax was closed disappointed we drove to Cooksville to see if we could have dinner there when we arrived the waitress told us the kitchen had been shut down for about 40 min. We couldn't believe our luck or bad luck the waitress Hilary said wait a minute, shortly one of the owners came to our table (didn't get her name) said she would open back up and get us dinner. Talk about AMAZING is an understatement who would go out of their way like this??? The Longbranch Again, I can't tell you what this meant to spend a little bit more time with my daughter and her boyfriend before the long drive home. If you are looking for a place with great food and awesome people, please spend your money and time here. Thank you again it really was incredible. read more

The worse food ever. Ate breakfast food and it was terrible. Out of town visitors and do not recommend!

If I could put 0 stars I would. Don't go there if you want to have a go. They cut you off when you aren't drunk. And don't like having fun.

This experience was honestly terrible. I've eaten here one other time and I had the homemade tenderloin which was absolutely amazing. I wish I could say the same this time. I came in after 15-20 minutes after I placed my pickup order as I was instructed to. I went to the bar and immediately noticed my order bagged up ready to go near the kitchen across the bar. I patiently waited around 10 minutes as the waitress was tending to people already at the bar. I started to get a little impatient and it seemed as though the bartender accidentally overlooked me a little while after this which is an honest mistake I understand it was a busy time at that time. I then walked over to the unattended waitress who was standing on her phone in the corner by the drink machine and asked her if she would please get my pickup order as I could see it was ready and the bartender was busy at the moment. She insisted I needed to get it from the bar and so I went to sit back down. I proceeded to wait another 20 minutes at the bar while the bartender tended to everyone but me. All the while this is happening the waitress i previously asked to please get my order has a long conversation with the man to my right literally leaning on the bar 6 inches from my meal that has been sitting there getting cold for at least 30 minutes now. I finally get a text from my girlfriend, whom is waiting in the car, stating "where are you it's been 35 minutes now!" Once I got this text I got completely fed up and stood up to leave. Of course right when I stand up to leave the bartender notices and asks if she can help. I proceed to pay for my food because I'm already mad and my girlfriend would have been super upset if I did not get our food after waiting so long. We tried eating our food, which was ready when I walked in the door and sat in front of me for 35+ minutes, but our tenderloin was soaked with condensation and cold to the touch. The breading had become soggy and cold along with the fries. I was so upset and ended up having to throw away my mean that I waited so patiently for. I wanted to go back in afterwards but my girlfriend thought a review would be better in the long run than a temper tantrum. I know if the food is served hot and fresh it is very special. The service completely ruined the food and time I spent with the Longbranch this time around, hopefully next time will be better :/ read more
