This a classic panera! They have all of the classics and favorites! This a great location and always has decent parking. The only down side is their are only to people at a register and 4 order tablets. I witness first hand a large group trying to order is a struggle. We go to Panera McKinney about 2 Sundays a month and order the same thing Fugi Apple Chicken salad. I get a full and my wife gets a half. So on Sunday I said to the order taker that we would take our regular order and she to my surprise said OH, a full Fugi Apple Chicken salad and a Half!! I was in AHH. so this is my local panera bread and i've never had a problem til today. i put in an online order for soup and salad and a side of a french baguette. i received two 1/2 slices of bread and was not notified that they had ran out. i went up to the to go order girl and i asked if that was "it" and she asked the kitchen and they just said yeah... not even an apology for not fulfilling my order. not any kind of sympathy from these ladies. don't order to go here, because they won't let you know any changes to your order! read more

There are 2 Panera Breads in the area, this one and the one at Watters Creek on Bethany. I have to say that I prefer this one over the Watters Creek location. Seems they just do a better job with the sandwich and salads. I think I said this in another review of another location, I love the Mediterranean Kale Quinoa Chicken (name may not be accurate but these are the main ingredients) salad!! My go to every time. I also can't ever resist the cookie! The rewards program is also pretty good here. read more

Should've just gotten the whole tortellini Alfredo and gotten the Caesar salad at Wendy's across the street! As it was, I tried the "pick 2" deal and paid $9.40 for cup of romaine lettuce, a sprinkling of shaved cheese, two croutons and 1/4 cup of salad dressing in a box plus a cup the tortellini. The tortellini was good but nothing special. Like I said, order the whole one. Get the salad somewhere else. Unbelievably overpriced. Corner Bakery is so much better but farther away. Came around 745pm. The cashier was really nice and helpful. Me and husband both got the pick 2. He had the Turkey sandwich and Asian salad. I got the Cobb salad and wild rice soup. Food came out pretty quickly. Husband loved his food although his sandwich was a little dry. My salad was not that filling or good due to salad mainly due to lack of freshness. The boiled egg literally looked like someone bit into it or tore it in half with their hands and threw it in the bowl. Avocado had turned Brown as well. My soup was good but had a little burnt taste. Although my food was not the best Panera experience I would try it again earlier in the day to see. Not sure if I will go at night again. Again, all the workers were super friendly. read more

First time having Panera. I recently had wisdom teeth surgery and cannot chew . So I have to stick with soups or simple foods that are easy to swollow. I decided to try Panera because I head pretty good things about it. We did pick up because I did not feel like sitting at a restaurant since I have to eat really slow. And my mouth was in so much pain. But, I ended up getting their tomato soup and Mac n cheese. And let me tell you. I've had it two times in the past week ! And that says something because I don't eat a lot of take out food or American food. I'm always usually craving Asian food . But, their Mac n cheese is soooo good. It's always so hard to find one that tastes good and pretty good on the price . And I usually get tomato soup from La Madeline. But now Panera is my go-to . Especially with my mouth recovering over the next couple weeks . The to-go is pretty fast too. Even considering I ordered a couple items . Most places take 30 minutes even if it is one dish or just a few items off the menu. Which is really sad. But I'm prettt pleased with what I got . I'll stick with to-go though . read more

Ok. If you like bread this is your place! I ordered the NEW steak and white cheddar sandwich, I received a piece of bread with two pieces of meat on it no onion cheese and no horseradish sauce. I also ordered a chicken Cobb salad but received a Greek salad both horrible. My son ordered the Italian combo that came with a 1/2 of a pepper( ordered extra pepper) and a purple onion slice the size of a dime. For $35 it was a joke! Won't be back unless I need some bread to bring home to make me a real sandwich! Very dissatisfied ! read more

We have eaten here quite a few times. They never disappoint. The wait staff is friendly and very professional. One of the things we really like about this Panera Bread is the seating area is divided up in a way that helps keep the noise level down. This particular occasion was a group of 10 people from our office celebrating a special occasion. We were all able to sit at one table and enjoy our conversation. Like others, I typically like Panera, but experience tonight was very disappointing. I called in order to go and was told 10-15 minutes. (1) Order took 25 minutes, not 10-15. (2) As I waited for order, saw my name on the "preparing" digital board, then it moved to "done", but 5 minutes later, still no food. I saw the same experience for other customers where there names went from "preparing" to "done" but no food... technology is great, but it's gotta deliver the proper customer experience... in this case, it simply was frustrating customers. (3) Then, the expediter finally called my name and apologized that they were out of baguettes for the three meals I ordered. Disappointed, I asked for a discount on the order. The manager (apparently also the primary chef at 7pm???) responded by saying "my screen is full with orders... you will need to wait a few minutes." Apparently none of the 3 cashiers at the front had authority to issue a refund, or were trained to do so. (4) After waiting another couple minutes but with no manager intervention and my food rapidly cooling off, I grumpily left without receiving any discount. Manager appears to be working hard (at everything but his job), but had approximately 6-7 employees that were largely standing around. Gotta train and empower your crew to proactively help customers, alert customers when placing an order you are out of product (had at least 4 other people who also got the same message about "being out of baguettes". Unfortunately, reading some other recent reviews about this location, I too will think twice about visiting this location as value/service certainly don't correlate with premium price. read more

Seems like menu changes and how they make staple menu items have changed. The bread for the grill cheese has changed and is half the size of the previous version. The kids grill cheese is larger than the more expensive grilled cheese on the regular menu. Disappointing. read more

We've been to this Panera location several times and it's evident that the manager cares very much about hiring polite and efficient help. Really, the staff is 5 star. Better than some in much fancier establishments. Courteous to a fault. The food is excellent but I think that's the case for all Panera restaurants. Appreciate the calorie counts clearly available on menu items! Pleasant, quiet, free wi-fi - it really does not get much better than this for a quick bite, a meeting with an old friend, or a place to hang out for awhile. read more

I had eaten here in the past and not been a fan because I wasn't really sure what to order and chose a salad and ended up not liking it because I didn't care for the dressing I chose (didn't see Ranch as an option). Recently my daughter asked to go and I agreed. So glad I gave it a second chance. This time I ordered a sandwich and it was really good. Love Panera but this location is very cheap! Ordered the strawberry oatmeal this morning to go, big mistake. I opened it in my car before leaving and the strawberries were visible old. I didn't have the time but I took it back anyway. Sitting on the counter was an order of the same oatmeal for dine in, obviously much fresher. When the server saw I was eyeing the order she took it from the counter and moved it where I couldn't see it a minute later she delivered it to the waiting dine in customer. The girl that took my oatmeal, didn't give me a new oatmeal but rather threw some new strawberries on top that were no better and said the others must have been cut yesterday. Really, gross. For $5 for a lukewarm oatmeal, old fruit, reserved for a to go customer. Pretty outrageous. On another visit, the were out of baguettes for soup orders. Asked for bread instead, one extremely small slice for a bowl of soup. Place is a horrible. Not even clean. They have seen the last of me, should have just gotten my money back. My bad. read more

Having surgery I am not able to eat anything that is not a creamy texture. We went to Panera after church because we had heard they had great soup. I explained my predicament to the young man behind the counter (Jesse) and without batting an eye he offered to have my soup run through the blender to make sure there were no lumps. Later after receiving our food he came by the table to make sure my soup was the right consistency. The potato soup was delicious, but I really appreciated how kind and accommodating Jesse was. The food here is wonderful. Flavorful sandwiches, great pastries, savory faux-souffles. The orange scone I got today was very citrus-y and fresh, and the four-cheese souffle was wonderful. The drinks are hit-or-miss. Their setup seems to be that whoever takes your order makes your drink, so there's no one who really specializes in creating the espresso-based drinks. Sometimes you get a good drink. Other times, like today, a mocha tasted like black coffee because the drink wasn't stirred, so all of the chocolate settled to the bottom. A latte had no flavor of coffee, tasting instead like hot foamed milk. We didn't taste them until we were on the road, and ended up pouring them out. Because of several instances like that, I'm reluctant to order anything but straight coffee here. If I'm getting an order to-go, I find that I get the food here, but stop at another coffee shop to get drinks. read more

I was waiting for staff to finish with the people in front of me. No big deal. Then a registered cleared up and the girl just stood there. Finally, the manager was standing there and said he could take my order. He did not greet me with a "Hello" or "Welcome to Panera". This set the tone. I proceeded to give my order and he asked me if there was anything else. I asked if they had potato salad. He said no with a tone of "you should know we don't have potato salad". He could've offered an alternative but I guess he didn't know any better. I will say that the girl that gave us our order was very friendly and courtesy. She should have been up front taking orders. I hardly go to Panera and only go because my daughter, who was on break from college, wanted to go since there are no Panera's near her college. I will not be giving this place any more of my hard earned dollars. Restaurants need to realize that people don't spend there money just for the food, even though it's big part of it, they want good customer service. My New Years resolution is to only go to places that have good customer service. read more

What a shame. This has always been one of my good to places, however, since they automated, the restaurant is in chaos. Orders are not delivered as placed, tables are not cleaned, nor is the floor, teas are empty most of the time and the great baguettes are replaced with a roll. Prices have gone up as well. My first experience with Panera delivery. My order arrived within the timeframe they stated. But the price of what we ordered was pretty high. A pick two combo used to be a good value, but now the 1/2 sandwich is very small and the soup was small too. For $9.49 this meal was very disappointing. Also had a large Avocado Chicken Cobb salad. The salad barely filled the bowl half way and there was not any avocado, another disappointment for the price of $9.89. This was the first and last time we will order from Panera Bread. read more

Awesome iced tea - knew that Ordered Italian sandwich with potato salad with a kosher pickle, my son ordered the Shrimp poboy with apple sauce! Win win - great sandwiches and more than filling too! I provide lunches for clients often, last time here service wasn't great. This time, placed order online at 1030 for pick up at noon. Arrived at noon and waited until 1210 and asked when my order would be ready. The young man told me they were working on it and it will be ready soon. Asked again at 1220 same response. At 1232 the same man told me they didn't have my order and needed to see it on the email sent to me! They barely said they were sorry. I will not return. read more

Really disappointed in Panera Bread in McKinney right now. I ordered the greek salad. Not the modern greek salad, the greek salad. I specifically said I do NOT want the modern greek salad. I described the ingredients that I wanted, and specifically said not the one with quinoa. I couldn't not have been any clearer in which salad I wanted and which one I did not want. They gave me the modern greek salad anyway. And charged me for extra quinoa! And it's gross. There is nothing greek about quinoa, almonds and kale. I tossed it in the trash. What a waste of food, time and money! This is second time they screwed up my salad. The first time, I hauled it back and made them fix it. This time, the store was closed by the time I discovered the screw up. Sure the food is good if they can manage to get the order right, but I shouldn't have to stand over them to make them do it. read more
