Almond pastry 8/10
Ro L.

Panera is one of those places that is 50/50 in both service and food quality. Offering pastries, sandwiches, salad and soups, it is a go to when you want a light meal for lunch. Prices have sadly gone up quite a bit. Dining area tends to be not the cleanest of areas. Overall, 7/10z

Family Feast
James A.

Used this location twice to deliver food, and it was good both times. Sometimes getting food delivered to a sick relative from half a country away can't be beat. The first time we ordered via Grubhub so was able to take advantage of some promotions and offers, but this time, the same family feast wasn't available on that platform, so went to the Panera website, where it is still available. It comes with a salad (caesar was the choice), a quart of soup (chicken noodle), a french baguette, and four sandwiches from a limited selection. I ordered Bacon Turkey Bravo, Roasted Turkey Avocado BLT, Chipotle Chicken Avocado, and toasted steak and white cheddar. After mandatory tip, convenience fee, and tax, it came out to $56.43 so about $15 per person which isn't too bad. It was delivered at the time it was promised, and one can follow the progress on the Panera app. The relatives enjoyed the full size sandwiches, and it's good to know this Panera is close by for future needs.

The menu items

I recently visited Panera Bread and completed a "Pick Two" order. I choose the Chicken Caesar Salad and the Chicken Cordon Bleu Blue Melt. When I got home, and looked at my sandwich it only contained ham. I am more than certain that the sandwich is supposed to have more than ham (according to the ingredients). I'm am not sure if the ingredients were unavailable or if it was a mistake but making an item with half of the ingredients is crazy to me.

Chicken and Rice soup, Green Goddess Cobb Salad with Chicken, Chocolate Chip Cookie, and Broccoli Cheese soup to go.
ALLI M.

This was my second visit to Panera today as my first choice in Allen was closed early without notice. Ordered the pick two, broccoli cheddar soup and the green goddess cobb salad with chicken with dressing on the side. Had a $5 coupon that expired today so I needed to use it up LOL. Most times when I order through the app, I get $1 off a sweet treat so I got the chocolate chip cookie as well. Got my food, everything looked great and I started eating the soup and realized it was chicken and rice, not broccoli cheddar. Went up to the counter and the very nice young man apologized and got the correct soup right away. Didn't even ask for the wrong soup back, packaged it to go for me, and included a fresh baguette as well. So nice to get that great customer service. Way to go Panera!

Poor communication and attention to detail caused my food to sit for 20 minutes before speaking up.

Food is never as good as it advertises. Out of items often. Quality of food has gone down.

I am traveling for a wedding and stumbled across Hugs Cafe for a light lunch. The menu looked…read moregreat, so we decided to head to downtown McKinney to grab some takeout. We learned that Hugs Cafe is a nonprofit that employs adults with disabilities, which made us want to support them even more. We had the Reuben, the Peach Gobbler, and the potato salad and everything was absolutely amazing. The jams used on the sandwiches were so unique and sweet, and they paired extremely well with the meat on each sandwich. Every bite was flavorful and clearly made with care. The potato salad was also delicious and the perfect side to our meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service was warm and welcoming, and you could truly feel the heart behind this place. If you're in the area, this is definitely a spot worth visiting as it has great food and an even greater purpose behind it!

Perfect spot for breakfast or lunch -- just don't sleep in too late because they close at 3pm! I grabbed a sandwich, a cup of soup, and a drink for around $15, which felt like a steal considering the good vibes included free of charge. Everyone working there genuinely seemed happy to be there, and the enthusiasm was so strong we actually had to defend our food from an adorably overachieving employee trying to clear the table before we were finished. Honestly, if the whole world had that level of work ethic, we'd all be retired by now. Do yourself a favor and stop by Hugs -- good food, amazing mission, and enough positivity to restore your faith in humanity for at least the rest of the afternoon!

All three of the people that came by to refill coffee and water and to check on us (multiple times) were very nice. We were fortunate to arrive at the perfect time for a Saturday morning, as we would find out in just a few minutes, as we watched the wait list grow. This being our first time, we weren't sure of the seating situation. I walked to the back, where the to-go pick up was located, to find that we can sit anywhere and that someone would come and help us. We did, and they did. I suggest you stop in and give Curuba a try. Very reasonable prices, lots of menu choices, wonderful staff, oh, did I mention the coffee? I love dark roast coffee, "Just black, please". This Columbian coffee is dark, rich, smooth and flavorful with an aroma that hits the senses with every taste. If you're a dark roasted coffee fan, stop in for a cup to go. You'll be back. And even better, the coffee comes from Columbia. They purchase it from a local importer (I believe). They provided the url via QR code. We believe in the "Buy local" philosophy. It's nice to see businesses doing business with local businesses. THE BAD: It's a small restaurant. Making a reservation (Open Table) is likely a good idea. We happened to find it at a slow moment on a Saturday morning. OVERALL: We're fans. I'd love to take our friends and family for lunch, or tell them about our new find. However, there are some things better kept to oneself.

The gentleman practically went over the entire menu with us which was much appreciated . We were constantly checked on and felt really welcomed. My friend got a coffee and said it was very good . We also tried the lulo and Maracuya juice . I highly recommend the lulo if you enjoy tart and sweet ( the maracuya was a bit too sweet for my liking ). We started off with the empanada sampler and Marcilla au gratin . Not big fans of the marcilla - way too much dairy . The sausage itself was good, but wouldn't get it again . Our favorite empanada was the calentao followed by the brisket. The chicken was just ok. We both agreed that our main course, the sancocho de costilla was yummy . If you're looking for a hearty soup that feels like a nice warm hug, I'd highly recommend . Overall, worth checking out . I'd come back to try other dishes and grab something from the bakery .

Bathrooms are cute, clean, and well stocked. What I didn't care for... I received my Mongolian beef early. My husband didn't get his orange chicken for 20ish minutes. I had a few bites but waited, we typically eat together. After 15 minutes, the eggrolls came out hot and fresh, now my food is getting cooler and the hubby still hasn't received his meal. All of this to say, consider making the easier dish later so they can be done together or hold meals until they can be served together. There was a long wait between food delivery, drink refills, and check, but in our servers defense: he was the only one serving, and it got busy for lunch. I may try it again when in the area

Instead, we were greeted with a 15-minute countdown to place our order--followed shortly after by the announcement that the restaurant closes at 2:30 PM, which came after the food was served. From a hospitality standpoint, this felt less like a reservation and more like a timed challenge. If the kitchen and dining room need to wrap up by 2:30, a last reservation of 1:00 PM would better align expectations and allow guests to actually enjoy the meal. Great food deserves a service experience that lets it shine.
