Classic cheesesteak with hot peppers
Brad N.

I feel like I'm eating at a different place than some of my fellow Yelpers. My wife and I have dined in here twice, and had take out once, and at all times, the food has been excellent. We've stuck to the standards, classic cheesesteaks with either hot or sweet peppers, or both. Once, my wife got the BLT, which was good at the time, but unsurprisingly, the lettuce and tomato don't keep well, and the portions always dictate leftovers for us, so we'll skip that next time. The bread on our sandwiches has been fresh and soft, with no off notes either texturally or taste/smell. The meat and cheese have been tender and well seasoned, and at a good ratio to the bread. The hot pepper can really lean towards the hot side; I almost feel like asking for a third hot and two thirds sweet. :) Bottom line, we've had three great experiences here and are glad to have this restaurant so close to our home. Hoping some of my fellow Yelpers just hit them on a bad day, but it really works for us!

Really enjoyed our first trip to Capriotti's! Really enjoyed the food at Capriotti's. Service was friendly and helpful.

Medium rare on a cheesesteak ???

this is literally the worst cheesesteak I have ever tried in my life mushy bloody meat, soggy bread, and unmelted cheese. How do you even obtain a red center on thinly sliced meat. im genuinely curious. spent $20 for this single over priced sandwhich . Should've took the hint when I seen the place was empty.

Capistrami and grilled Italian

Finally got a chance to eat here and it was so worth it! The shop is very chill and comfortable. Staff were all super attentive and nice! We tried the capistrami and the grilled Italian. A small is 8 inches and cut in half so we were able easily split and try both. They were both fantastic but the grilled Italian was next level good!

rename this place CRAPpriottis! $14 for a crappy sandwich. Got the turkey sub. It has dark meat on it and stale bread. Not only that but it tasted horrible. Wish I took a pic of it before disposing it. I've had better sandwiches at Subway!

The food is quite good and the place was well-decorated and clean. The employees, however, could all use some customer service training if not some basic skills in human interaction. The shop was empty when we walked in and neither of the employees behind the workstation greeted us or said a word as we perused the menu. Finally a third employee came out from the back and stood behind the register. Not a word of greeting. We said "hello" and started giving him our order. When he did speak it was barely audible. The food was pricey, but it was all well-prepared with large serving sizes. Halotus chose the cheesesteak and I had the tuna. Both sandwiches were brimming with filling and fixings. There are soups and salad options on the menu that looked great. Despite the mute employees, we will definitely give this place another try.

"Chopped" salad.

Quick delivery, great fries, terrible flavorless tuna sandwich. Jersey Mike's beats Capriotti's hands down. Just not worth the investment.

The absolute standout was a new special, blackened chicken pasta. Three out of the six of us ordered it, and it was delicious. The penne was tossed in a creamy, lightly tomatoey sauce with sun-dried tomatoes, something between a cream sauce and a vodka-style sauce, rather than an alfredo or marinara, and the blackened chicken was really flavorful, perfectly cooked. Honestly, this dish needs to be a permanent menu item. I had the Caesar salad, it was good, a little heavy on the dressing, and my sister's garden salad was fresh and tasty. For dessert, the banana pudding was fresh and absolutely something I'd order again. Fries Oreos were kind of a fun novelty. Glad I tried them, but once was enough. Service was impeccable: friendly, warm, prompt. We left with leftovers, and since I was heading out of town, my sister was kind enough to take care of mine. Great meal, great service. That blackened chicken pasta was the star of the show. Forgot to take pictures.

I went with the meatloaf since I kept seeing people call it the best thing on the menu, and they were right. It came topped with that house glaze and a pile of mashed potatoes, and it honestly tasted like something my grandma would have put in front of me on a Sunday. We also tried the pot roast, which was fall apart tender, and made room for the cobbler at the end even though we were stuffed. Big portions, fair prices, and the service was warm without being over the top. There is a sweet little story behind the name too if you flip the menu over. This has quietly become one of our regular stops in McKinney and I do not see that changing, especially with the great service and atmosphere!
