Really disappointing experience here. My fiancé stopped by Sunday evening to pick up food, and it honestly felt like we were interrupting the staff's hangout time. Several employees--including who seemed to be the manager--were standing around eating and not paying much attention to customers. To make things worse, a big portion of the menu was unavailable. There were empty avocado containers, no fresh super greens, and the brown rice was poorly made, so we had to settle for whatever was left. The pita chips we ordered were also extremely over-salted--basically inedible. I understand places get busy or have off days, but with that many staff members present, the lack of attention and quality was frustrating. Definitely not the experience we expected. read more

Cava itself is a fine brand, but this location wasn't. My friend and I couldn't eat most of our bowls because the brown rice was so overcooked it was crunchy, hard, and brittle. I absolutely love CAVA everywhere EXCEPT the University location in McKinney, Texas which happens to be closest to my home. Having lived in the area for about a year, today was my third visit after having previously told myself I would never come back. On the first two visits the restaurant was in disarray. Not very clean at all (dirty tables in the lobby, trash and spills in the drink station, and food all over the prep line. The food is NEVER fresh. After visit number two I called back to speak with management and was offered a refund for my entrée because the rice was so hard it could've cut my tongue. I went today (months later) with high hopes of change, but again was utterly disappointed. I ordered a chicken bowl with pita bread. The girl behind the counter was obviously disinterested in her job and even less in answering questions about the components of my order. Then less than five minutes after purchase, I dug into the bag, and the pita bread was room temperature. It was not heated at all. Then I opened the bowl and the chicken was cold. As if it had been recently taken out of the refrigerator cold. I called the restaurant to speak with management and no one ever picked up the phone. It just rang. It's official. This will be my last time visiting this location. The entire crew (except the young man cashier who helped me) including management needs to be replaced. I am so disappointed. I was in late this past Sunday about 9 pm. It was just as Andrew reported below. Employees were rude and the place was a mess. No food available. It was if they were mad we walked in to order. I ended up leaving without ordering. They had ran out of almost everything they said and it was an hour or more before closing. I will never revisit this location. This was my 3rd experience at Cava. No matter what time you go all the servers are very rude. They're always in a hurry. They're very sloppy and sometimes the ingredients are not there. They seem to be rushing you out of there. I love the food, but I can only take so much of the rudeness. read more

Fair warning we did go an hour before closing but this store had little to nothing available. By the time we left there was still 40 minutes until close and we were baffled on what they were planning on serving if someone did walk in. I got a mixed bowl with greens and rice. The only protein left was either the braised lamb or the meatballs. I went for the braised lamb since the meatballs didn't look too appetizing. I should have just gotten veggies since the lamb was just outright salty! They didn't have any toppings available at all or Tzatziki or peta so it wasn't ideal! Frustrating Experience I placed an online order for pickup at the drive-through, expecting a quick and easy experience. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting 15 minutes--not because my order wasn't ready, but because the person ahead hadn't even completed theirs. My food was ready, but I was stuck in line. When I got home and unpacked everything, I realized my side of hummus was missing. I drove back to CAVA to get it, hoping for at least a simple apology or some acknowledgment. Instead, I was handed a tiny portion of hummus with no "sorry," no compensation, no effort to make it right. The food may be good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Let me just start by saying, I never leave a review for places, unless it's over the top amazing experience. This might be one of the only times ive ever written a bad review but when I came in for a quick stop for lunch, I had a bad experience. They were out of half of the stuff, not prepared, I asked for cucumber, they were out (of course) and there wasn't any in the back either apparently. so when I asked for it to be replaced by something like avocado, since they were completely out of something I wanted (and half of the other stuff), they told me no and that's when someone went back and cut cucumbers which I had to wait for and then when they finally finished that, they gave me a half ass scoop of them (like a laughable amount) and then I was asked what dressing i wanted and of course they were out of that as well. i love Cava, the food is amazing, but this particular location has gone downhill in the past year. I usually can't go until around 6pm and every single time I go they are out of multiple ingredients. That is unacceptable when the restaurant doesn't close for another 4 hours. The staff is not friendly at all, the place is always a mess and it's just been bad experience after bad experience for the last several months. I will not be back to this location which is unfortunate because it's closest to my house. This place needs new/better management FAST! read more

I love Cava! Offering highly customizable bowls and pita wraps, Cava has delicious Mediterranean food suitable to a wide variety of tastes. This particular location is fairly new, and I have enjoyed it both times I visited. My order, placed online ahead of time, was ready upon arrival. The restaurant itself has seemed fairly clean, although there was an odd situation on my last visit where staff members wheeled off the garbage cans to empty them and did not put a replacement in place for a little bit. Apart from this minor oddity, I have no complaints. It's an excellent spot to grab a quick bite. read more

I've become a regular at Cava. The food is great always fresh and healthy! Kacey is amazing super outgoing. All the team members are super helpful with all details regardless of who they are, Jazmin is always great prepping the bowls; Carmen is awesome as well, ringing up the orders, I always ask for warm pita, and everyone is super nice going down the line with all the ingredients. I have used the mobile order and drive thru window 3 times now and the associates act as if it's an inconvenience to come to the window. Food was really great to be coming for the first time. The prices are high! As everywhere is. With that being said, the customer service has got to be one of the worst. With the amount of workers they had working, no one came to help her, we were second in line. It took the 5th person in line to come for someone to come help, and didn't know what he was doing apparently, he needed to go and pull 3 people out the back to figure it out. Hot mess of mismanagement. Came to pick up an order. Waited over 10 minutes in the drive through with my husband without being acknowledged. Had to go inside while my husband waited in the drive through and saw the drive through employee (?) standing out of sight of the window on his phone. I watched (unacknowledged) for at least five minutes as two girls worked their butts off and three guys walked around like they hated life and were in a competition to see who could move the slowest. Went back to my car and my husband had to honk to get their attention. Waited 5 more minutes then left with no food. I won't be back. read more

I was having a spectacularly bad day, tears flowed. I needed feel-good food as well as healthy food. Many customers in front of me but line moved well. I told salad maker to make whatever he thought I would like. He didn't hesitate, took on this unorthodox challenge, and out it came, delicious and healthy. I treated myself to some root beer. Everything was fresh, absolutely excellent, and the place was nicely busy, clean, and employees very sympathetic and polite. Ate my food out in the country while watching some cows have their dinner. I figured it was a one time slip up as the store is new, and agreed without issue. This was around 6:30 pm on a weekday. Decided to try again today and the bowl I received had uncooked, dry, hard, crunchy lentils. I think they were raw and never actually cooked. They were inedible. Food is good, prices a bit on the higher side. Portion sizes are too small for the price. This location is new, our experience wasn't as pleasant as we expected. Tables were filthy dirty, all tables. Food all over the floor, including preparing area and also used gloves on floor. Containers for utensils super filthy! We had to ask for new forks and they weren't really happy about that.
