I have been to my share of Paneras. I think if you pick the drive thru locations it takes forever but I did a rapid quick order at this location at 5:45 pm and by 6 my food was ready. I don't mind a longer wait than mcdonalds or something because it means it's not just sitting under a light waiting for me to order it. It was dinner time and the employees were very busy and the manager was doing a good job of trying to keep everyone happy by walking around making sure people got their orders that came up. I couldn't eat what they gave me and I had no other options available. 5 hours later I walk into return to get a refund. The manager asked me if I ate anything else in the bag (I ordered a pick 2). No, but why ask??? I let him know I had to go out of my way to bring it back. He credited my card and that was it. No sorry. No store credit to use next time. Not even a friggin cookie. I've spent a LOT of time in various Panera locations. It is a great place to bring a laptop, grab a cup of coffee and a pastry and get some work done. And if you end up staying longer than you planned I love the ability to order food directly from your table! I don't have to worry about walking away from all my stuff. The food and staff at this particular location are amazing! I've seen a lot of the same faces in the year I've been coming here. They are professional, polite and make you feel welcome! I am a HUGE Panera Bread fan and always will be; however my experience at this specific location yesterday was disappointing and this email is just to inform you of how unprofessional this looks to guests coming in. Last night two young girls around the age of 17/18 came in with no shoes on with a Starbucks in hand for one of the employees working. The employee currently working behind the window where guests pick their food up began to take pictures of the two girls and the Starbucks cup with her food handling gloves on. That was annoying but I wasn't inclined to speak to a manager at that point as I know and understand what it is like to have a lot of young employees. The part that made me want to speak to a manager was when you could tell things were getting disorganized due to the fact these two girls are laughing and playing around with the employees that were "working." Orders were popping up as ready but guests would go to the counter and there would be no food there. I sat and continued to watch them as these girls were yelling and laughing with the employees when one of the girls started throwing food at this male employee. Please keep in mind this is happening where our food is being prepared/boxed. There was a young guy cleaning and doing a great job ignoring the two girls as he was working (I wish I knew his name) who I ended up asking him to speak to his manager. He went and got the manager for me and the guy that came over just so happened to be the guy letting the girls throw food back there and laughing with them. I knew when I saw him that it would be a pointless conversation as he was already a part of the problem. I let him know how unprofessional it looks and how I get that they are young girls but that he is clearly the MOD for a reason. I did not catch his name but i was there around 8:15/8:30pm Sunday evening (5.13.2018) He proceeded to keep cutting me off with apologies; which is fine. Three stars at most. I would personally not recommend this place to anyone for a quick breakfast ,or really anything else. I had breakfast with my kids here and the food was bad, and I am not someone to exaggerate bad but this was bad ,It was cold and tasted stale. They do have a microwave for people to have access to but it's one microwave and there was a line to use it. Who goes out for food with the hopes that the restaurant has a self serve microwave. Great food and great service. This place makes me happy on the inside and their staff seems to always be in a good mood. I like them for breakfast or lunch and there's really nothing on their menu that isn't delicious. Some favorites for me are the quiches, any of their fresh breads (yay ciabatta and foccacia!), their "muffies" which are muffin tops (cornbread is soooo good), and their potato soup. We moved to McKinney from the Austin area and have been long term customers of Panera Bread. At other Panera Bread locations you can actually order breakfast right up until 10:59AM without any issue. On weekends the other stores would even say whoever is in line before 11AM can still order breakfast. For some reason the McKinney store posts that breakfast is available until 11AM but actually refuses your order starting at 10 minutes till 11AM....on a Saturday. I've done the curbside pickup multiple times due to COVID safety precautions. It's so easy, I place an order on my app, and can then easily pick it up. I love the half and half plates as well as the seasonal foods that come out. There are plenty of healthy options. Of all the times I've come I have only had one problem with an order. I got a $.50 bag of chips, a pickle spear that closely resembled a toothpick, and a half sandwich that I actually ate in 8 bites. Don't believe me? Look at the pics I took! My sandwich was bread, 1 slice of chess, 1 slice of salami and about 4 pieces of arugula. Panera- you truly suck. I will never be back again. Its truly unfortunate you treat your customers like this now. You've lost a customer for life. Looking at the pictures on your menu and what you advertise with- it's almost a scam. Today, Panera let us down. My wife placed an online order through the app for delivery. She ordered a French baguette unsliced loaf, but after the delivery, we found that the item was missing. I tried calling in multiple times to speak with a manager so they could get us our missing item, but the line kept going busy or someone placed me on hold for 20 minutes. Went to this location today for lunch and got utensils that weren't even washed or checked by the server before they reached our table. They were sticky and crusted... My fiancée got an apple that was HALF rotten and facing up on the plate, that went unnoticed by the chain of people who took care of the food before it got to our table. When he asked for another one, the server laughed as if serving rotten food is funny. Came for a late lunch, 2:00pm, and placed my order on the kiosk. There were maybe 10 other customers in the dining area. After getting my drink I walked around searching for a clean table-most of them were filthy with crumbs and leftover food. After finding a clean table I waited for my order (13 mins total). My sandwich arrived-I ordered half of a turkey sandwich with spinach and no onions. I received a full turkey sandwich with lettuce and onions. I asked the server to check if it was mine and told her what I ordered. She returned with the same sandwich that they had picked the onions off of and said I could just have a full sandwich. The lettuce vs spinach wasn't worth it as I was in hurry. Would not recommend this Panera. read more

I've been coming here about 1-2 evenings a week for the past 6 months and never had a bad experience. The staff is great and the food is outstanding. I usually do a "pick 2" meal. With that you can order any two of a half salad, half sandwich, cup of soup, or half flatbread. Some of my main go-to's are the broccoli cheddar soup and the strawberry poppyseed chicken salad. I've tried almost everything on the menu and none of them disappoint. I usually go with my boyfriend and it ends up being about $20 for both of us. I think that is a pretty good deal considering the quality of the food and the convenience. Also if you order a meal with a drink you can add a pastry for $.99. We usually split the chocolate pastry. It's worth the 490 calories. Tip: if you go often, sign up for the rewards card. We get a free item or discount every few weeks or so. read more

The employees are unusually sullen here - I'm guessing that it's partially management's fault - but it doesn't give a nice first impression. Also, anytime after 7pm at this Panera, expect them to be out of most of the bakery items. Overall - not horrible, but this is not my favorite place in the area at all. Instead of this Panera location, I highly recommend Paradise Bakery on Stacy Road!! It's very much worth the extra 5 miles down the interstate. My mom ordered one of the promotional salads, and after tasting the dressing realized it was sweetend with Splenda, which just so happens to make her really sick. I'm surprised by all the negative reviews about their poor customer service. I just stopped by Panera for my rapid pickup order and expected to be in and out without any employee contact. However, when I grabbed my order an employee walked by and asked if everything in my order was thee and correct. I said yes and thanked him and was on my way out. As I was walking past the cashiers counter I caught sight of the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies and couldn't resist ordering woman. The cashier gave me the cookie for free! #Score! And then on my way home I remembered I forgot to change my side item from chips to baguette when I was ordering online and quickly checked my bag and saw they gave me 2 sides! This review is not for the store, which has always been outstanding in regards to my Rapid Pickup order - never skipped a beat, it is on their new seasonal Watermelon Feta Salad. If I didn't add chicken to mine, I would have given this salad two stars and preferred grass for lunch instead. I wish they would do an arugula and lettuce blend and added a protein as a standard, but they didn't. What is in the salad you ask? Well, you get arugula (duh), watermelon chunks (uh huh), a sprinkle of grains, a teaspoon of almond slices, oh and don't forget the dressing, oil. The watermelon chunks are refreshing and delicious, but the rest is plain, plainer, plainest (only two out of three are actual words)! After you add chicken (or any protein), expect to pay around $12 for this salad. Stick with your green goddess, it's got more flavor flav! and costs less. read more

Good food, friendly, need to be consistent on wearing gloves handling food. I visit this location about 2 times a week to buy breakfast pastries. On occasion, my family and I get their chicken and noodle soup or broccoli cheddar soup. In my experience, their food has always tasted fresh and been prepared well. The staff is friendly and courteous and the place is clean. It doesn't take long to get food if you order. The thing I think they need to work on being consistent on is wearing gloves when getting pastries and breakfast items out of the display case. 75% of the time, the person at the counter just walks over to the case and handles the food without gloves. Last week, the lady picked up a soufflé with her bare hands with her thumb on top of the egg portion. I asked her to please put her gloves on, but customers shouldn't have to ask that. There is a box of gloves behind them and after handling money, etc, they should put gloves on to retrieve and handle the items. I think the chicken may have been bad and the Chinese wonton soup smells like wet dog, and tastes just as bad. Seriously, I can't recall one time in years where I have actually had to spit the food out. I can't articulate (without taking another bite) about why it is so bad, it just is, and I'm the guy that can eat anything.
