A little pricy for the portion sizes. But great food, and an awesome atmosphere.

I don't have to go across the street for a soy latte at Starbucks anymore because I just found out that Panera Bread makes an awesome caffe latte with almond milk (Panera's offering is a better non-dairy tasting alternative to what Starbucks serves). Thank you to the Manteca Panera staff that prepared my latte this afternoon! You've made my commute more bearable today : ) I'm now an even more frequent Panera customer because of your non-dairy alternatives. Drive thru staff were friendly & proficient today. The drive-thru wait wasn't too bad (they do serve healthier food than most foodchains so wait times may be a little longer, but I can see past that). Prices are commensurate or a little more reasonable than Whole Foods deli & coffee bar. read more

The staff here is great, food is okay, overpriced but that's not a single locations fault. The thing that gets me is how they mess up our on-line orders. My kids soup was checked off by DS but when we get home, there's no soup! Not the end of the world, but this is my kids soup, not mommy or daddys. So now, we have to make her dinner, or drive 20 minutes back to get something they checked off, just sucks all the way around.. So here we are, Sunday night, making a separate meal while our food gets cold.. I called and the manager apologized, not her fault, but man, how hard is it to check and get it right?? read more

So excited it's finally in town across the street from my work. I went the opening day, bad mistake. I looooove panera, but you think the first day they would OVER prepare. I went and they were practically out of everything. I was ordering at the tablet and the manager was telling what they still had available after finally selecting something. I waited for my order. They told me 3 different times my order had to be changed because they were "out" of my order. Really disappointed and when I got home the sandwhich they gave me was sloppy and the salad wasn't even the salad I ordered. I was really disappointed. I'll be back in a few months to see if they improve. read more

Yay! Panera is now in Manteca ! Nice comfortable atmosphere inside and I love the patio outside! Same yummy food that all Paneras have and so great to have healthy options as well as coffee drinks and pastries! read more

My family used to like Panera bread a lot, as there are lots of options and healthy choices. Now, I cannot say we are happy we their service. Many times we have had horrible customer service and bad food from their stores. Today, we ordered in-store pickup, and when we got home and pulled out the food, we were extremely disappointed. The Cobb salads that we got were barely filled half way in the container and the tomatoes were pink and old looking. It was a sad excuse of a salad. On top of that, they barely gave us enough salad dressing to cover two pieces of lettuce. When tasting our sandwiches (turkey BLTs), we noticed the bread was stale and tasted like a shoe. The turkey had such a strong and nasty flavor that we could barely take a few bites. Overall, a very disappointing and miserable looking, and tasting, meal. read more

This was my first time ordering from Panera. I attempted to order directly from my iPhone app for pickup, but the app kept getting stuck. So I went into the store instead of drive-thru, since I wasn't even sure what Panera offered and I didn't want to hold up all the die hard Panera customers jamming through drive-thru. There were three cashiers and all very busy helping customers. So I tried my luck with the digital kiosks. LOVE IT. That was so easy and I was able to customize my sandwich and pay with my gift card. Then I moved on over to the waiting area for my take-out. Cindy seating while I waited not even five minutes for my food to be ready. Very friendly staff. I ordered a Roasted Turkey Panini and added tomato and avocado. SO good! I also swapped out the chips for a fruit cup. It's a tiny fruit cup, but the fruit tasted fresh. I'll definitely be back to try to soup....when it's not 100 degrees out. read more

As I was waiting for my to go order I was watching the servers, there was two males that were not being very sanitary. They were putting their arms across the serving area while talking to the cooks, running their hands through their hair, looking at their cell phone, just thought it was not to cool when you are serving food. This is the worst place to order lunches from for a large group. This is the third time I have tried it and I will never be coming back. I usually order a rapid pick up online and everytime there is a system error at the restaurant. I have a very demanding schedule and they do not have anything prepared at the time promised. Less than one Thumbs Down. Stay away! Have eaten at other Panera locations,LA San Diego,San Francisco. The food Sucks!, my wife loves the brand. She ordered the 1/2 sandwich &salad. Her Mediterranean chicken was on the wrong bread,and then the correct bread was toasted( not requested). I ordered the 1/2 Roasted Turkey with avocado & bacon. The bread was dry,and thin mayo on only one side. The Turkey was a bland lump,no flavor.the bacon was puny,the avocado was a lump of 1/8th of the avocado. I had to ask for more mayo- oops no mayo,so they brought a container of spicy brown mustard, no knife to spread it.. spent $21.00 ..could have gone to Applebees across the street. read more

Fresh and great sandwiches, pricey for half a Turkey, cup of soup and a medium drink. Amongst $11.00 :( But my concern is there was not much soup contents in my cup and I did pay an extra 50 cents for fresh mozzarella which was about 2 very small cuts. The people are friendly. I'm just not sure why their soufflés are always burnt? Every time I go for breakfast, the soufflés are burnt. Adjust the temp or cooking time. You can't tell the different between the different flavors. The presentation is horrible. If I want a soufflé, I simply make a special trip to Stockton to get one or 4! And don't bother with the breakfast sandwiches here. They're gross and a waste of money. Don't let them toast your bagel because they'll burn that up, too! This Panera bread could use more training on food prep. read more

At least 15 minutes wait and something wrong happened each visit.. Got a soup that was room temperature. Promised a call from manager, but they never called. Got a turkey sandwich that tasted "off." Ended up getting sick for a week from it. Bought a baguette that was still uncooked in the middle. read more

I arrived for the first time to place a to go order. The restraunt looked great and the staff seemed nice enough. My order was ready fast. I didn't realize at the time that it was becaus they didn't really fill the sandwiches. I was disappointed in the sandwiches. I had a tomato mozzarella flatbread and it was half empty only a bite of mozzarella. I got my husband the steak asiago and there were 3 tiny pieces of steak on it in a ball. I have had Panera before many times and have always had plenty of meat never a complaint. This was my first time at this location and debating on giving them a second chance. I certainly won't be using them for lunches at work. read more

do not do catering orders or even use this location. horrible service! they don't care about you but just to take your money. we used this location numerous times. its always late and/or missed. the delivery girl is so rude. she will yell at you. was promised discounts and gift card for compensation but never received. receipts were not available. i contacted all managers there including the corporation office and nothing was done. recent experience: 3 days in less than a week were a mess. 1 of the 3 was 45 minutes late. 2 of 3 was 20 minutes late and got yelled at by the delivery girl. i really believed she cancelled my 3rd order for the next day. 3 of 3 the food was never made or delivered. when called we charged full price yet 2 hours later. i called the panera support number and nothing else was done except for had to do a full refund to my clients but yet i was charged by panera. i shouldn't be held responsible for this at all. why should i be responsible for their mistake. read more

I had lunch today at Panera Manteca and while I ate I observed the servers being very attentive to their customers. Especially Kim. She was amazing. Multiple times including me, she met the customers needs before they asked. Whether it be opening a door, cleaning a table, or picking up a dish. My first time ever at Panera in Manteca, I have to say I was less than impressed. Maybe I'm just crazy, but employees should know their processes and should be a little more customer service oriented, especially in a place like Panera. So...I call in the night before and order some bagels for work the next day, the rep says she'll put in the order for pickup in the morning...I'm good with that. I come in the next day, approach the counter...greeted by a smile and a good morning. I tell the counter person that I'm picking up an order. She directs me to the pickup counter around the corner. Here's where it goes downhill. I'm standing at the pickup window...I see a woman working, she turns around looks at me, turns back around and continues to work. No greeting, no "how can I help", nothing. Another few minutes go by then she finally asks me "are you waiting for the bagels", I answer yes. She walks away, five minutes later she comes back with a huge order...I look at the receipt and don't see my name. I tell her that I only ordered a dozen. Second later, another lady comes up and says is the order for Pat. I say yes, and she says oh it's over here..(the front counter where I just came from). As I look back at the other lady and push the box and bag back to her, she gives me a look like...I was at fault for making her stop what she was doing. Nobody once asked me for my name or helped look for my order...which I called in the night before. Teach your employees how to step up and take ownership instead of just pushing customers off. Also, don't let customers stand there and not acknowledge them, that's just rude. Other Panera I have been to have gone the extra mile, this place was just mediocre at best. read more

I am so tired of this place! The drive thru is HORRIBLE! I always have to check my bags before leaving because it is usually wrong or missing something. I have learned to check the bag(s) before I leave the drive thru. Today (again at the drive thru), I ordered 2 sandwiches and 2 soups. One sandwich was a ham and swiss cheese sandwich with no mustard. When I got the bag, I looked in the bag: 2 soups and 2 sandwiches. Great! But no... When I got home and opened the wrappers, the sandwich had no mustard AND NO SWISS CHEESE! I shouldn't have to open/unwrap my order while in the drive thru! I'm done! I had a great experience at Panera! Their cinnamon crunch scones are my favorite, unfortunately they were out of them for the night, but the drive thru cashier Brandon was extremely nice and suggested another great scone that I really enjoyed. Overall, great experience! read more

Beware of using your Credit Card here at this panera!!!! I called in an order for our work place and had only used my credit card here at this establishment - I hadn't used my card prior to that for weeks. It was a phone order and later that night my bank called with fraud charges with someone trying to purchase video games and pizza using my card. They tried (9) times with our bank declining the purchase - thank God!! Had to shut my credit card down, but I am 100% positive it came from me placing a phone order to this Panera!!! Be very careful not to use your credit cards here - there are THEIVES that work there!!! read more

Amazing business, gives all leftover bread, pastries and bagels to local homeless shelter and non profit businesses! Haven't gone inside to eat yet, but have tried their food and it's so good. They do not use any preservatives. read more

I go here a lot & it's usually on point. One thing that made me want to stay away was that I ordered the clam chowder & while waiting for my food I overheard some workers talking down on the clam chowder. Saying how it was old & how they wouldn't order it. I definitely changed my order. read more

Come here often, the drive thru usually isn't too busy but expect a wait. Brenda assisted me the other day she was very polite & helpful. She recommended some options when I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to order. Next day I came inside to eat with my sister the girl at the register was still training so she had to go grab someone to assist her, my sister ordered the you pick two & the cashier ended up over charging by adding a small instead of the you pick two price (Mac & cheese) only a few cents difference. No big deal, none the less she was very polite & the overall experience was nice. Will be returning just hope the drive thru times become a little more efficient read more

Had dinner inside the restaurant this evening. Our food was OK but the restaurant was filthy. Many tables needed to be cleared, floor was dirty, booths had food stuck between the seats and backs, and trash was overflowing. Overall not a good experience! read more

Panera in my experience has always been good at their customer service and the wait times are really reasonable. Whether you go to the drive through or inside the wait time is relatively similar. I always get their broccoli cheddar soup and Caesar salad, both great! I sign always go here because they are a little bit on the prices side, overall good though. read more

Nice service horrible food. My bread on both sandwiches were hard. Asked for no tomato and when you open the sandwich you can tell they took the tomato off. Our bread for the soups were bigger then the sandwiches itself. Waste of money, never going back. read more

As a St. Louis native, I was so excited to finally have a Panera coming to town. They originated in St. Louis as St. Louis Bread Co., and are a staple of eating out there. This visit on opening day left me pretty disappointed. I hit the drive thru at about 9:45am, and I was the only car. The employee was very friendly, but obviously not sure of all options. She didn't know what I meant when I asked for my bagel bread sliced, and she struggled to get my free pastry taken off my loyalty card. She was very apologetic, which I appreciated. It was the first day, after all. However, my bagel came out bagel sliced, and I found out later I should have gotten a free coffee tumbler since it was the first day. Small things, but still sad. It also took a long time to actually get my food and go - 15 minutes or so - and I only ordered prefab bakery items. I'll be back, but I'll let them work out some things before it happens. read more
