Food was amazing and customer service was amazing. 5 stars all around . Nice and clean. Give them a try if you're in the area .

Italian (Whole)
Nobuyuki S.

This was the first time I'd visited any Mr. Pickle's. I'd heard good things. They were friendly when I entered. I'd looked at the choices the previous evening and asked for the Italian, Whole. I didn't know what bread to order and the person making the sandwich said that the Dutch bread was the most popular, so I asked for that. She pointed to a board with a number of items, which didn't all correspond to the Italian, but I just asked for no mayonnaise. I paid for that and a regular drink for $14+, which seemed a bit much. The sandwich was ready by the time I paid. For some reason, they prepared it for me to go, even though I'd already put my things at a table. Someone came to clean that, as they hadn't cleaned it or some of the other tables. I got a cup of Mountain Dew and sat down. The sandwich was tall, but not particularly big for the price. The taste was good enough, and certainly better than that other place I visited recently. The sweet bread was odd. None of it made me feel like returning later. They gave me a cookie, which was also acceptable, but not great.

Lettuce and tomato sandwich with a few slivers of turkey

The pictures I've attached tell the story. It's insane to charge as much as you do for sandwiches and serve them like this to customers. Gave me a whole head of lettuce and two slices of turkey. Is bugs bunny running this location?

$13.99 salami and cheese sandwich

Ordered a sandwich that was almost 15 bucks, and had a small portion of meat. Very disappointing, I'll have to find a different sandwich shop

I will say that I've always been a fan of mobile food trucks as the majority of ones I've been to…read moreover the years have been tacos. However, I had the opportunity trying out one of the more well-known butcher shops to serve San Joaquin County. This is none other than "Fagundes Meats & Catering" which has been a staple in Manteca for decades. Their actual brick-and-mortar location is off of N. Main St/E. Louise Ave in the heart of Manteca while their food truck ventures out to various locations for a variety of community events. In this case, I saw them serving hungry patrons at the Manteca Watermelon Street Fair that took place during the weekend of 6/6/26-6/7/26. To those that know this business already is that they are famous for their tri-tip. In addition to that, they also have other amazing protein options including rib-eye, brisket, pulled pork, Italian sausage, linguica, chicken, and the order I went with, their pork belly. I ended up going with their "Pork Belly Kabobs" and went for the combo deal which included a side (I went with their macaroni salad) and a drink (I opted for a Diet Pepsi). Total price for everything was $17 (which included tax + tip); not bad especially at a public outdoor event. I will say that the pork belly was quite delicious; a little bit on the salty side but nonetheless still a fairly decent portion in each and every bite. I paired it up with their homemade BBQ sauce which had a sweet yet tangy flavor. The macaroni salad was just average for me as it had too much of a vinegar taste while lacking a whole lot of flavor. Overall, I enjoyed this meal as it held me through the majority of the afternoon. I am definitely curious to try their other meats if I end up visiting their actual butcher shop. Overall, the service was excellent considering I was at a busy outdoor event. The line moved quickly while the prices were quite reasonable, even these days where meat prices have become quite outrageous. With that said and done, I am giving the mobile food truck portion of "Fagundes Meats & Catering" an above average four stars. Hopefully I can make a future visit to their butcher shop in the coming months so stay tuned!

Mac and cheese wasn't at all my cup of tea- too bland for my liking. I've also never had potato salad with black olives in it... That is a "no thank you" for me as well. I'll be back around to try more menu items but for now, I'd say around a 3.5.

Everyone here is so sweet and helpful, and from what I've observed, they know many of their customers by name. You can feel the genuine sense of community. That same care carries over into the food. Everything is fresh, wholesome, and intentionally made. You can tell they care about the food they're serving and the people they're serving it to. For the longest time, I couldn't stop ordering the turkey pesto sandwich because it was that good. Once I finally started trying other menu items, I realized it wasn't just one great sandwich. Everything I've had has been delicious. The coffee and tea are exceptional as well. Manteca is so lucky to have a place like Bean & Leaf. Given the multitude of licenses at stake in such enterprises, I wish to share my recent experience at this location. This morning, my husband and I visited, and we were somewhat disappointed with the quality of our orders. He ordered a vanilla latte with oat milk, while I ordered an oat milk latte with an extra shot of espresso at a temperature of 200 degrees. He also selected a ham, cheese, and egg croissant, and I opted for a bacon and cheese croissant. Regrettably, the items did not meet our expectations. The beverages lacked the desired strength; although the temperature was correct, I was informed after placing our order that they were out of oat milk and had to substitute it with almond milk. Given that we had already paid approximately $30, this was quite disappointing. Despite these concerns, we did not request a discount or refund, and we accepted the substitution that was communicated to us approximately 10 to 15 minutes after placing our order. On a positive note, the staff were very courteous, and the establishment was clean. However, I suspect that the items we ordered may not represent the best offerings on their menu. While the service was commendable, there was a notable wait involved. It would have been preferable to have been informed of the oat milk shortage prior to payment, as we might have chosen to leave at that point. Unfortunately, our dissatisfaction led us to seek alternative options, and we subsequently drove to Stockton to visit Peet's Coffee, where we consistently find lattes prepared to our liking. While we may not return to this location, I do not wish to portray it negatively. It is clear that the establishment has potential, yet our experience did not align with our expectations.

That is a tough act to follow. The Caprese Sandwich sounded really good. I spent a long time trying to decide what went with Sourdough Bread. We lived in San Jose and went to the other coast, so I've never had San Francisco sourdough bread. I ordered the clam chowder and the Caprese Sandwich sounded. I wanted a 4 inch sandwich but they only had 6 and 8 inch sizes of that certain sandwich. Those two and iced tea gave me a total just under $30. Gaaaahhhhh! It's 2025 and after the pandemic but I'm still adjusting. I went to sit and noticed a dirty table and a mess on the floor. I sat at the next table and hoped that they cleaned it. After a while, they brought the food to me. The clam chowder was good and there was plenty of meat. Usually, restaurants cheapen the mix with loads of potatoes and a hint of clam. The Caprese Sandwich was also very good. I don't realize that it was supposed to come with mozzarella, and I should not have asked for provolone. (If you know all the places in Philly or Jersey where I got sandwiches, you'll know I have some experience.) Since I didn't want that much sandwich, I couldn't eat it all, and walking, I didn't take the remainder with me. The staff was friendly but I could not hear them half the time. Some of the buildings are meant to look cool but are not good with noise.
