Just ok. Didn't have high expectations for this Panera. I was just excited to potentially have fresh-ish food in as fast drivethru fashion. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich and it was dry. Even the mayo was spread lightly which would have made it taste better imo. The drink cup wasnt fully filled and the lemonade tasted watered down. The visit was around 4pm so I'm not sure if the lunch rush got all the good stuff. The overall layout of the pickup and dining areas is really terrible. If you want to use the kiosk to order, they are located in the dining area right beside dining tables. The kiosk ordering process is cumbersome and confusing to say the least. The dining area tables and floor were dirty. Where you pick up your meal is hidden behind a wall with a sign board to show your name. But it's pretty much hidden, so you must move to a place where you can see that board. There were a large number of people occupying tables that were not dining here.. they were all utilizing the free wifi...and using their own cups to take the coffee and/or soda...someone needs to manage this activity. Even if you can overlook the physical issues of this place, the food itself was really NOT good. Too much bread, minimal amount of protein (meat or chicken), and just flavorless. Usually they're nice here, the curly haired woman at the drive thru window was very nice but the woman inside at 6pm 04/15/2025 was extremely rude. I ordered a steak sandwhich whole, and the drive through lady asked if chips was okay, I said can I have the baguette (since that IS an option as stated on menu). She said sure. Once I get the food I drive off and noticed right away they gave me chips. Since I'm still literally a few feet away I go inside, I say excuse may I have the baguette instead of chips I asked for it. You can tell she wanted to say no, she goes "umm it's going to take a min there in the oven , one moment " literally 10 seconds later she goes here you. While I enjoy Panera food, quality of service in drive thru and pick up has diminished. Very slow in the drive thru for 2-4 cars. 20 min. Wait prior to 12pm. Not the first time this year. Pick up has been tried as well prior to 12pm thinking it would be faster or ready at time chosen. Probably the worst feeling is when you go somewhere and feel like they don't want your business. I came in and offered a salad and said I like extra dressing and asked for six extra (which I always do because their little dressing containers are always like 1/4 full) and she said I'm not going to give you that many. Very poor customer service. I go to many different Panera restaurants - Tracy, Fremont, Livermore and when I order the French baguette they have to problem toasting it. But it seems to be a very difficult ask here in Manteca, they refused to toast it saying they don't that in this location. First, I want to share out that I think Panera has good food , and that is why I eat there sometimes . Recently , I was in Manteca , and went through the Drive thru to get lunch - it was 1:00pm ,and there were only 4 cars ahead of me . The drive thru was extremely slow . I ordered 2 sandwiches one turkey & cheddar with everything on it & one turkey & cheddar sandwich plain with lettuce only : a simple order. The cost of my order $23.58 ( a bit pricey too ) The whole drive thru order process took me 40 minutes to get to the pick up window where I continued to wait & wait for my food! I mentioned to the staff that the drive through service was really slow - their response was oh we are busy ! Really ? This is a fast food place at lunch time . Then, after the very long wait I drive away & go visit my father to have lunch with him - only to find out that my order was wrong! I had 2 sandwiches with everything on them. Just Bad! So, I called the Manteca Panera manager , and she kinda said sorry & she also said there was nothing she could do about it & that yes the drive thru line is very busy . Well, I guess it's called Panera BREAD for a reason. The sandwiches are extremely expensive and they are 95% bread. The filling is practically non existent. We ordered three sandwiches and they all came that way. Pick a lane. Either A. Keep your pricing as is but actually fill the sandwiches properly or B. Keep these the way they are and cut the prices SIGNIFICANTLY. If you go with option B your new marketing campaign can be "normal prices and we promise your sandwiches will always have SOME bits of meat inside of them!" Take a look at these photos and see for yourself. Wish I had taken more from side because that's when you really see how pathetic this is. One last marketing suggestion this time regarding the graphic design for the "Panera bread" logo: make it look like a huge sandwich seen from a side angle. Make the word "bread" huge in massive pillowy letters and put the word "Panera" in the middle of it but so small and thin than you can hardly see it. I will provide a few examples you can share with the Panera BREAD C-suite here shortly. Possibly consider this logo as something to use as a bridge towards a complete rebranding, losing the "Panera" part all together and changing the name to just: "BREAD" read more

I am so over this location. Manteca on Yosemite. Twice in a row I ordered on the app to go. When I got home the sandwich's were so messed up one was not edible. Missing items and soggy. Basically meat dry bread and lots of mixed greens. No cheese or any of the other toppings. Today I took a chance. Ordered a BLT. Take a look at the pictures and you will see what I'm upset about. If you order for take out from here I would check you order before you leave the parking lot. I basically after I re-worked the sandwich I got a half with 4 tiny thin slices of bacon. I just checked the cinnamon roll I got as well. So dry it's literally hard to pull apart and frosting is cracking and all falling all over. read more

"Fast lane" kiosks out of order and then had to wait at an empty counter for at least 2 minutes before someone took my order. I could see someone counting paper plates or something with no effort to acknowledge I was standing at the registers. Someone finally took my order, and it felt like it took forever even though I knew exactly what I wanted. I'm glad I asked for a receipt because while I was w a i t i n g for my order I finally asked about an update when I saw someone and she asked if I had my order which I saved my receipt so voila! And she was kind enough to tell me to look around the corner on the pick up shelf. Would've been nice to know. read more
