Arrived on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at around 4pm-5pm. There was a line in the store & NO one was in the front taking orders. I understand that the workers can be busy. However, everyone witnessed all the employees huddled in the back talking to each other & ignoring the people waiting in line. I waited 15 minutes in line to order after the employees finished their conversations. Don't even bother ordering because you'll get in the way of workers important work conversations. I have gone to Panera for years and used to love my experience. However, my recent visit will be my last. I ordered my usual steak sandwich. I took a bite and it tasted like mold and melted plastic. I opened my sandwich and I had very pink steak and the cheese was moldy. The taste was so horrible and I felt like I was going to throw up. I felt so sick for a couple days after. The store refunded my sandwich (not my whole meal) and didn't apologize or show any concern for me. I will never be back. read more

I had the most amazing time at Panera's in Hawks Prairie/Lacey. The new summer strawberry caprese salad with added grill chicken was delicious. I also had the Tuscan grilled chicken sandwich which complemented the salad perfectly. I also must add that the customer service of the young lady Ashley S. was above and beyond expectations. She was so polite to my wife and daughter. She catered to our every need. Thanks for a wonderful experience. If you're in the Lacey area and want a delicious healthy meal....this is the spot. Not my favorite location. Service sucks. We walked in around 7pm and I thought they were about to close because 1) barely anyone was in there and 2) they didn't care about giving good customer service. I asked for a dinner roll and some guy who looked like a manager rudely told me they don't have those. OKAY. You could of just said "I'm sorry, we don't have any more at this moment." I think the staff at this location rather talk to each other than to help customers. read more

I really like having a healthy, quick alternative to the fast food giants littering the landscape of every suburb. We stop into this Panera about once a month or so and really enjoy the food. My favorite is the souffle's. But you must come early as they sell out quickly! My son loves their soups, especially the chicken & wild rice and the baked potato. They make a wide variety of options ranging from many different kinds of bagels and cream cheese, to pastries, soups, sandwiches & salads. They also have a great assortment of drinks to choose from. Juices, large assortment of teas, espresso, smoothies and of course soda. My personal favorite is the caramel latte. If you order it eat-in, it comes in a nice big mug, rich & frothy....yummm! My only complaint about my experiences here, is each time I have been here, there is either a long delay in getting my drink, or when I asked for it 'to go', they gave it to me for 'eat-in'. So be sure to keep an eye on that. read more

This is the first Panera Bread I've ever eaten at, and I used google translate to find out what panera meant. In Spanish (I'm assuming, based on the Mediterranean feel of the place it originates in Spain) the word means breadbasket. So Panera Bread means breadbasket bread. Interestingly, a quick read of the corporate website reveals that it began as a French chain, Au Bon Pain Co. The Spanish thing was a huge marketing re-brand in the 90s! Who knew. Anyhoo, decent soups and sandwiches and salads in a corporate restaurant environment. If you are looking for a corporate restaurant where you can get a decent sandwich or bowl of soup, this is the place. read more

I actually love eating at Panera.... So Panera gets 5 stars overall... but at this panera, I was disappointed. First of all, there was a long line right when you walked in... understandable.... places like this, it's always gonna be busy around lunch time. For some reason, they only had one register open..... and there were about 15 people standing in line... completely uncalled for. So after waiting for around 10 minutes... they finally took our order.... The cashier hands me the buzzer thingy, and says that the food will be brought to me. Since I'm used to the regular restaurant way, taking a seat and just staying put was pretty cool. This was my biggest gripe. The waitress brought our food over and I took a look at my salad. There were crumbled cheese on it, which I just automatically assume it's bleu cheese.... Since bleu cheese has a form of penicillin in it, I started to drill the waitress... not her fault, but it was the fact she argued w/ me about it. I asked her politely if this were bleu cheese.. she said she didn't know. I asked her if I can get a new salad and not take any chances. She tells me that it's not bleu cheese... so this goes back and forth.... I finally got fed up and talked to the counter and changed it out myself. There is no reason why this chick kept arguing about something she wasn't completely knowledgeable about. I really think she should just stay behind the counter and fix up the salads... at least she can be confrontational with the salad and sandwiches... I won't be returning to this particular location... there are better Paneras across Washington. read more

This is a good Panera location. Sometimes the lines can be long but they always seem to work through them quickly. I typically only come at dinner time. Their food is excellent and mostly healthy. Its great for kids too. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Often they will even offer to take our trays which is a ncie gesture usually missing from places like this. Recently they started bringing your food out to you which also differentiates them. I eat here often (twice a month) and will continue to as long as they keep making yummy food! read more

Prior to this visit, I had only been to Panera Bread once before so I wasn't quite fully aware of how things work here... like meals, side options etc. All I knew was what I experienced the first I visited a different location. When I received my panini half, I lifted the bread and saw only two miniscule pieces of chicken, if you can even call it that. I certainly wouldn't. I paid too much for this tiny sandwich half to have no chicken in it so I asked a passing employee if this was typical--"um... not really... There should be a bit more on there." I was quite surprised that she had to think about it! I certainly didn't pay upwards of eight bucks for a slice of grilled bread with some mayo spread and a tomato slice. After a bit, she returned with my plate. Much better! After this, there was another time I decided to use the drive thru for a quick lunch on the go. They didn't ask me if I wanted anything to drink and what I wanted for my side. When I pulled away, I realized this... then when I looked in the bag, there was a bag of chips. At least they remembered to give me something but I'd like to have an option next time, please. I'm disappointed because I was really excited about Panera bread after my first visit. But having been here three times now I realize it just isn't worth it for how much you spend and service hasn't been all that great at this location. Sad. read more

We usually love Panera, but it seems like lately things have gone downhill at this location. A few times we've gone in and they've run out of sides for meals, which has been disappointing. This morning however, we went in for breakfast. They had one cashier working, and the line was not moving. We finally ordered our meals, and sat down. About ten minutes after we ordered, our cashier came over to apologize that they couldn't make the breakfast sandwich I had ordered (and already paid for) because it was now after 11am. (It wasn't when we came in and had to wait to even place our order.) I was floored that the shift supervisor Daniella would rather refund a purchase than make the food that was ordered. I left let down that I missed out on a yummy breakfast sandwich, but also really taken back at the poor customer service. read more

The food is great. The staff is terrific. The customers are a pain in the rear. I come in with a family of four, kids who are tough to keep seated. Every 4 person booth is occupied by one selfish clown on their laptop who's there when we get there and there when we leave. Don't be a tool, if you're by yourself, pick some appropriate seating. Yes, Panera is a bit spendy....but...it's just so delightful! My husband and I make sure we find a way to go there once a month. I know lots of people are all over the subway $5 subs...but...Panera everything is of a much higher quality. I know this sounds weird...but I can smell the difference. Even in this troubled economy my husband and I feel that when we do choose to go out for dinner, we should go for higher quality than the $1 menu. read more

Horrible business horrible management and customer service I've never been so mad I waited almost an hour for my food that I had ordered over the phone they told me it would only take 20 minutes so I go up and ask where my order was that after patiently waiting and then they said that they couldn't find my order even though I had already paid and then they say they found my order but it was never processed and that they never started on it so they tried to refund my money but they were really rude about it so I sat there and waited over an hour to get some food that I didn't even get it and then they just got there and refunded my money and they said that he could take up to a week to even get back my money that I spent to get some food they were very rude and I will never be returning back to this Panera ever again I wish I could give this place a zero star rating this was such horrible management I've never been so upset over how I've been treated at a fast food place they really need to do some adjustments on their management and their teams because I have never witnessed something like this before I never the one to complain early Saturday views but this definitely was a horrible experience and I will never be returning back to this Panera and there is amazing and awesome but not this one they deathly need to look into the management and the way they treat their customers is not OK read more

I have been to this bakery/restaurant a time or two for dinner with the kids and they run out of bread??? The food is good, affordable, healthy, and there is a great variety. The restaurant never seems to be that clean, I always use wipes to clean off my own table. You are given a pager when your sandwich is ready so it is pretty handy to eat there with kids. I have never had a problem with this location before, until today. My order sat on their counter for longer than needed, and when they brought it to me it was very very cold. When I told an employer about this, she talked to the manager who was very polite. However, when she brought back my remade order she slammed it on my table and walked away without saying anything. Came in at 8pm, everything I ordered they were out of something that was on it. It took four tries tell the thing I ordered I only had to substitute one thing. The manager wasn't very nice when I asked what I could substitute stuff with being very straight faced and I'd say rude. Food took longer then it shoulda to come out. Also they got som weird characters working for them but they were still very nice. As always food was pleasing to the eye when it came out though. read more

Panera opened at Hawk's Prairie just over a year ago. It's a nice option for a "cheap, quick" family dinner. I think the food has a bit of a fast-food taste, but I still like it. The turkey artichoke panini is yummy. Tonight, however, I got the roast beef asiago sandwich (since Thanksgiving is tomorrow...) I don't care for their soups much, but my kids adore the cheddar broccoli, and my husband likes the french onion. read more

As far as Panera's go, this place is my favorite one. It has a fireplace, which I like to hog sometimes, and seating's really nice. There's a quiet, comfortable setting in the back and a big middle space (with a long table) if you have a bigger group. My FAVORITE dish is the Fuji Apple Chicken salad. I LOVE that thing so much. I always get it with the option of French baguette (ask for it toasted - game-changer). Over time, the coffee here has improved quite a bit, as well as the music selection. The customer service here is amazing. All of the employees here are very kind, friendly, and sweet - they'll make sure you have everything you need, and almost always with a smile on their faces. It'd be amazing if they had soup early in the morning, particularly in the wintertime, but is that just me? I absolutely love the Autumn Squash when they have it (looking forward to fall, just for that!) Everything is a bit pricier than I think it should be, but the atmosphere is so nice that I'll pay it just to stay a couple hours while I work. Go try it out yourself! And do yourself a favor while you're at it and try the Fuji Apple Chicken salad ;) read more

This is probably the worst Panera Bread I have ever lived near. They are always out of the most common menu items when I go to place an advance order online. It has defiantly made me stop going to Panera as much as I used to before I moved to this area. Oh well. In addition to this a lot of their employees are kind of rude the couple times I have went inside to eat. What was a little frustrating was the fact that it took nearly 1/2 an hour to get two bowls of soup, 1/2 sandwich, and Mac & Cheese. Usually I'm an advocate for Panera. Though the prices are high, and the portions are unreflective of such prices, there aren't a ton of healthy and fast food choices in Puyallup. Today, however, was not so good. After waiting in the drive-thru (which literally almost takes my entire lunch break), I get my $14 half salad and sandwich. I'm starving at this point so I dig into my bag as I'm pulling away and look for my baguette. NO BAGUETTE. Also, no time to wait who-knows-how-long for a parking spot, and certainly no time to go through the drive-thru AGAIN...so I chalk it up this time. Well then...I get back to work, ready to sit and enjoy my meal...minus my baguette of course....only to discover I've not been provided with silverware either. Eat my salad with my hands? Sure, thanks Panera. I'll grab some TP to use as a napkin, since that too was not provided. Also, just opened my sandwich. Now doesn't that look appetizing. I ate breakfast here this morning..... My first time visiting Panera. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese on ciabatta. I was happy that they used real eggs and not egg beaters or powdered egg. The sandwich was heated in a panini press, which made it toasty on the outside but still perfectly chewy on the inside. It was a little skimpy on the bacon but overall a great breakfast sandwich. My family shared a cinnamon roll too. It was tasty but it left an oily film in my mouth which is off-putting to me. My son had a carrot cake cupcake, which was packed full of nuts, raisins, carrots, and coconut! There was a cream cheese treat in the center as well. I think I would probably visit Panera again. It was a decent breakfast.....quick, light on the grease, and tasty. read more

So my kids really like going here, but I think it's just ok...why? Because they really don't offer that many vegan options and the ones they did have, they don't always have on the menu, which is annoying. The staff is just "Ok" in my opinion. They aren't overly friendly or helpful. The last time I went in with my kids, I asked if we could get the sprouted rolls with our meals, and she says, "Oh, I think we have those, but I'm not sure." I replied with, "So, are they available or not?" I mean is it really that hard? So, she basically ignored my request, and then I asked her again about the rolls, in which she said, "Oh, ok, I'll check" Anyway, I only go here for my kids and I usually don't order anything for myself anymore because I'm just not that impressed. read more
