I feel like, as a whole, Panera has struggled with adequate staffing (in numbers at least). Compared to 5-10 years ago, I used to love eating there and always had a consistent experience including wait, food quality, staff... I know they are pushing their online and/or terminal ordering, having to wait 15 minutes to order when there are two people in in line in front of you is a bit much for even medium-fast food. The ordering clerk was friendly and was very patient with the people in front of us as was the manager we overheard while eating. Unfortunately, there were two errors with the order (a problem with us/Panera lately) and the dining room was a mess with dirty tables and a messy floor. This is while we ate on a Sunday night after 7 pm so I feel like the mad rush and clean-up for dinner should have been over. Again, I think that this is due to not enough staff members or budget cuts. (who knows). The food was delivered promptly but was average in quality. read more

Updating my review- prices- so steep! I can feed my family cheaper at a sit down full service restaurant cheaper than here. Not a typical pick two situation - I got a tiny half sandwich for more than $6 ( you can get a foot long for $10 at Canna cabanas) Panera's wouldn't be enough to feed even a 3 year old. Mac n cheese is great! But again- not worth the price. Employees seem nice. Overall, I won't go back- it's just too expensive for the tiny portions. They have good sandwiches, although they are pricey. Breakfast is another story, if you get a bagel with cream cheese, they won't actually put the cream cheese on the bagel. If I wanted to buy a side of cream cheese and spread it on a bagel myself I would go to Safeway across the street. Lunch good, breakfast do it yourself. read more

Arrived at 7:40 omw somewhere thinking I could grab something to go quickly and still be on time. Ordered a scone and a sandwich. One couple ordered in front of me while I was inside. By 8:04 I'm still waiting for my food and they had not even started making the couple before me's food. Because I'm on a schedule I go and ask how much longer they expect the wait to be at which point they tell me 15-20 more minutes. I needed to leave so ask for a refund. Takes over 5 minutes to get my refund and then am told they can't refund the tip. Not only did they not offer any sort of consolation such as a coupon or anything but they KEEP the tip I gave under the assumption I'd be helped within a reasonable amount of time. That being said, Kathy, the cashier was apologetic however the manager did not seem to think this was that unacceptable. In addition to myself, there were several other people who had been waiting a significant amount of time by the time I left. Extremely disappointed and wish I was warned ahead of time that there was going to be a wait because I would have hopped on over to Chipotle where they consistently are quick! So now hungry and crabby and was late to my obligation. :( read more

This is the most healthy, clean, incredible place to have lunch. Excellent above average employees, fresh healthy food delivered quickly. This is without doubt what I consider the best business model and the most highly rated restaurant available. Although they do need to stop making the 1/2 sandwich with the small ends of the bread and make them with the middle of the bread, a real one-half sandwich instead of a partial fragmented one. Please clean the floor around the beverage area more frequently, it's very sticky. This is a very impressive establishment. And you people taking up tables with your laptop and seemingly intense business undertaking....go home, you are fooling no one. read more

When it comes to Panera, I'm in between. I admit I'm not an avid Panera customer but I admit I like their fare. I've been to some great locations and the service is always good. But this particular branch didn't make the cut for me. Why? Its bad enough that we were served cold soup on a chilly rainy day. But when I asked if its okay to have it heat up, I swear the lady that took it back rolled her eyes on me. The other crew member in the counter kind of like sneered. The older fella who stood next to me whispered in disbelief to his wife. They walked out of the store immediately. So did the soup get heated up, yes... but the service remained colder the the first soup. We didn't even bother eating it. So here's a star for this Panera location and no they don't even deserve it. read more

Best place for an inexpensive and great tasting lunch. The bread is so fresh and delicious, the service always friendly and fast. There's never anything to complain about, the price is great and the Panera card is constantly getting us free drinks and free baked goods. This place is now reminding me of the old Dennis Leary joke about how Duncan now has just enough donuts on display to remind you of the old days when they used to be a donut shop. I am an avid Panera customer. Compared to others I'd say this location has the quickest service. The only thing I didn't like was it seemed like they run out of items quite a bit. I wanted to order a bread bowl one evening for dinner and they didn't have anymore which confused me because they're Panera BREAD. But, I still got my Broccoli Cheddar soup which made up for it. I highly recommend this place for lunch but not for dinner in fear they may be out of an item. I don't think I'll ever stop enjoying Panera, unless they discontinue the broccoli cheddar soup! read more

The only complaints I have is the persistence with which they pester customers to sign up for a My Panera Card and the fact that they sometimes order customers around in a loud and terse way if they have a line in front of them...a LOUD "Next" and raising of the hand. A little like the way a first grade teacher would line up children to get on a school bus. The fact that this way of dealing with the public is present in every Panera we have been in says they are scripted to do this...AND I DON'T like participating in corporate scripts. I also realize how awful it must be to the counter people having a manager sitting in a back room watching and listening to your transactions...look up on the ceiling next time you visit a Panera. And the phony " how is your day going?" If it is genuine I will respond. Yes, I am an old grump at times. The food is pretty good and the baked goods top-rate. The hazelnut coffee is excellent. I hope my comments are a reflection on the management and not the employees who don' t have much power in a bad economy. So enjoy Panera, by all means if you want a good cup of coffee and a brownie! First Time at a Panera. Lots of choices. Bread and Sandwiches looked good, but I thought I would go healthy and ordered the Thai Chop Chicken Salad. ToGo. It was not a chop salad at all - just a regular salad with the chicken dumped on top. it tasted just average. The assistant manager was extremely sarcastic and rude to not only me, but his employees. The young lady taking my order was struggling a bit and seemed to be new & he talked down to her in front of me and instead of helping her just belittled her. I was so uncomfortable watching this happen that I didn't even realize she charged me a whole sandwich, rather than the half I asked for until I sat down and did the math, and they brought me a whole sandwich. I brought the other half of my sandwich untouched to the front to explain what had happened to the assistant manager who watched the whole transaction and he was very smug and said, "I guess I'll have to take your word for it" I immediately regretted even asking and spent the next 5 minutes trying to keep my composure while he told me "what a good deal I was getting" and proceeded to tell me I should be thankful after he messed up my order? Love this Panera! It has a lot of seating, very nice inside. I put in an online order but they didn't receive it for some reason, they were super apologetic and extremely friendly. They always have great customer service. I love the Greek salad and broccoli and cheese soup. They also have great Mac and cheese (definitely not kraft, even on the kid's menu). This has some of the best service of all Paneras that I've been to. I ordered their You Pick 2 combo which is a salad or sandwich plus soup. I ordered the harvest squash soup plus bbq chicken salad. They asked if I wanted an apple, chips, or bread, and I couldn't decide between an apple or bread, so she just gave me both. I asked if it would be possible for them to cut the apple for me, as I have chipped a filling before on apples, and she said of course. If you order a drink with your meal, you can get a bakery treat for 99 cents, which includes their delicious bagels! My favorite bagel is their Asiago bagel, and for 99 cents, that's a pretty good deal considering how huge they are. She asked if I wanted it toasted, but I was saving it for later. For her to go the extra mile to cut my fruit and offer to toast my bagel was above and beyond. The atmosphere here is cozy and not too quiet or loud. Parking is easy as it is in a strip mall with Costco and Best Buy, but on the other side, so the Costco and Best Buy crowd don't park there (unless they feel like hiking to those stores). read more

I seldom give any time or space to chain or franchise restaurants but I do have to give a very positive nod to Panera. Unlike a few others, I've never had an issue with the service. I like their food, especially the french onion soup. I like the feel of their space, especially the one in Hawks Prairie, and I really like their overall approach to business. Had a not so pleasant visit to one of my favorite restaurants. As I walk into the door and to the counter, instead of being greeted I was met with deep staring of the front staff. I continued to view the pastry items and again, no one said anything to me. Finally lady with two braided ponytails comes over to "adjust" the pastries and again, nothing was said. Finally when I took initiative and tried to get the attention of the same lady by simply saying "good morning excuse me but may I ask you a question", she responded/reacted in way that screams I don't want to be bothered while shaking her head. So I politely told her that her energy was all wrong,never mind, and asked if there was another cashier that could assist me. She apologized, but did not get anyone to assist me. Instead she went on to greet and help the next customer. After waiting two minutes,a young man came over and I asked if he could help me.I really don't want to associate this disturbing event to anything in particular, but I can't find any reason as to why I would be treated in this manner unless this staff is just rude on the regular. I still love Panera Bread and hope that the staff can improve on their hospitality. read more

I went during a non-busy time (late Sunday evening- it was not closing time though)There was one customer in front of me but no customers behind me for about 10 minutes. The cashier was good. We sat down and ended up waiting 25 minutes for our food - a soup and a salad. I got up to get a refill and they are screaming about the size of my salad, they are confused if it is a whole salad or a side salad. I went back to my table and checked the receipt. No doubt about it- it was a full salad. When they brought our food they brought the wrong side items (can't have bread due to allergies). When I asked for chips instead of the bread, she acted annoyed and brought it 4 minutes later like she was doing us a favor. I checked the receipt again- and it said chips for each meal. Careless mistakes and bad attitudes. I'll visit again because it is Panera- but this location needs to pay more attention to detail during non-busy times. read more
