No soup today. On the road, I wanted something that I can eat while driving. I decided to get a couple of breakfast sandwiches and a pastry. I got the ham and cheese croissant and a Asiago sausage and egg bagel. I really didn't need two sandwiches since each were both filling. The bread for both was warm and each sandwich was okay. Very clean, spacious dining room, complete with a fireplace, which was especially nice yesterday when I was there and it was cold and raining outside. I ordered through the kiosk, just inside the front door, which I found intuitive and easy to do. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on ciabatta bread and it was amazingly fresh and delicious. I also ordered coffee, but would have preferred the option of getting my coffee cup (for the self-serve coffee station) before waiting for my sandwich to be prepared. Prices are reasonable, even though in my opinion coffee could be offered for a little less. The sandwich had so much bacon, I was shocked. Probably had 6 strips on it ; really generous with the bacon. Also appreciated that they have real cheese instead of that American "cheese"nonsense that many places offer. I feel that post pandemic and the rise of self service food ordering kiosks makes this fast casual dining experience no different than a McD. What's up: On our road trip and we decided to grab a quick bite and drink at Panera. Doing a quick search, we found this place (it was also near the Tesla chargers). Parking: We parked at the Tesla chargers and walked on over. This place also has plenty of parking nearby. Environment: Pretty quiet when we arrived for breakfast. We placed our order ahead of time using our Panera app, but you could also order at the counter or use one of their order kiosks. The left of the building is the dining area and there were plenty of open spots. Restrooms are also located in this section, not too far from the fountain drinks station. You'll also see the Rapid Pick Up cubbies not too far from there. What was ordered: - Hot tea (it was a cold morning and hot tea was just what I needed) - Asiago Bagel (soft and warm cheesy bagel) Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. Things are pretty much self serve. Used the drive through on a trip north. Spent over 30 mins in the drive through with maybe 4-5 cars ahead of us. The employee at the window said they were short staffed. I don't blame the employees but rather Panera and management for poor... management. I repeatedly asked the manager how they planned to compensate for the extreme wait and she said there was nothing she could do. She did follow through on a discount after I suggested it, and I hope every car behind us received the same. There were people getting out of their cars to come see what the hold up was. We tipped the driver through worker to reinforce our issue isn't with the staff that showed up the day after a holiday, but I hope Panera figures this out. We also had to go inside to get silverware that was left out of our order and noticed the restroom had a stall without TP and another stall with a small roll left. Stopped by heading southbound. Sandwhich was ok, alot creamy verde spread.. so it didnt really feel like a grilled cheese sandwich as much. Just more of the verde spread lol. Pulled out the chips and noticed it was popped, but there were tears at the bottom of the bag, chips are stale. Likely someone just said screw it and threw it in the bag. Stopped at the Kelso Tesla supercharger on the way back to Seattle at exactly lunch time, so we decided to get something at Panera Bread, which is not one of my favorite spots, having never found anything excellent in the past. Decided to get a flatbread Margherita pizza and a caffè latte. I have to say that the flatbread was not bad at all, I really enjoyed it. Maybe that's because my expectations were a bit low, but I really liked it, I ate the whole thing. Tomato sauce is fresh and not overly seasoned, very simple, mozzarella is fresh and the flatbread is very well done. I imagine that the flatbread is precooked, since I got my food pretty quickly, which makes it even more surprising. Caffè latte was so and so. I keep giving this Panera grace and extra chances...mostly because I really like the employees. The employees have excellent customer service...they are friendly, kind, and they are prompt. The management at this location however is horrendous! Whenever I get the unfortunate circumstance to order from a manager...they are rude, self-righteous...and have no customer service. The prices are NEVER accurate and always change even though I get the same thing every day. The manager today hung up on me after blaming her employees telling me she will have to "retrain" them. Recently went here after a long day running errands in Longview. I was super unimpressed with how they operate this business. They had very few employees working so there was basically no customer service we were directed to the tablets to place our orders. We had a very long wait to use one as several were not in working order, we considered leaving but decided to be patient. We finally got our order in which took a significant amount of time. They brought it out to us and we ate the food we were disappointed in the quality and the price was outrageous! We will not be going back anytime soon! I enjoy Panera but this one is very poorly managed. Went to order a veggie sandwich but was told it would have no lettuce or onion because they were out. Got a pizza instead (margarita)... they put it out and say "we didn't have any basil and I didn't know." Granted this pizza only has tomatoes, basil and cheese... frustrating.
