What a great little place! It's like old school hometown place of people to have a cozy breakfast and hang out with friends. Today I had a pancake breakfast with a side of eggs over easy. My wife had a waffle with a side of bacon. All the food was outstanding. My Overeasy eggs were perfectly over easy, the pancakes were fluffy, my wife's waffle was pleasantly loaded with whipped cream, her favorite. The bacon was not overcooked or undercooked. It was perfection. The best part overall was the staff. So unbelievably friendly and seemed genuinely happy. If I lived in the area, I would make this irregular breakfast. Stop for sure. A solid place for a classic diner meal. First, parking was a problem. I was about to give up and go somewhere else but then someone pulled out. The staff were very friendly. My coffee cup never got below half full. I ordered the seafood omelette with hash browns wmd English muffins. For the most part nicely done. Seafood omelette is a combo of dungeness crab and bay shrimp. The ratio between the two was way slanted to bay shrimp. Probably would have been better to get the crab omelette. But it was good. Just the right amount of cheese and the select of cheese pairs well with the seafood. The portion of hash browns is good. But WAAAAYYYY under salted. Which i can understand so that people can control their salt intake, but until i salted the potatoes they were very bland. Also the cook on the potatoes could be improved. You can tell they simply cook a portion on one side snd maybe flip then done. They don't chop/mix of the crusted portions into the center to better distribute the nice formed crust. We have dined here for years! The food is served in generous portions and is always great! Most of the waitresses have been here for a long time and know their regulars by name. They're always super busy, but somehow manage to be cheerful and engaging at the same time! Pancake House is a very busy place with a bustling dining room. Early morning means breakfast! My friends and I were making our way down to Oregon in the early morning and decided to stop for breakfast here at Longview before entering Oregon. It's located next to Burger King on California Way in Longview. There's a small lot to park at but once the breakfast rush hour comes, the entire lot was filled and people were making their own parking around the lot LOL. There's also street parking around the area too. I got the Meat Lover omelette with a Marionberry Rollup (substitution is only $2 extra!). We were at a restaurant called Pancake House. Definitely had to try one of the pancakes! The roll up was basically three huge crepes with marionberry inside. WOW! The roll ups were filled with marionberry and basically its jams. Bit too sweet for me (near the middle-end) but suuuuper good! There was an initial crunch when it first came out but eventually lost it as it sat out too long. The omelette was filled with ham, bacon, sausage, and melted American cheese. Yum! Wasn't too salty and super filling. There was an option to sub the American cheese for another cheese, which I should have since I started getting sick of it LOL. The amount of food was crazy (peep at pic) and for a really good price! My group also enjoyed their meals! A friend got the corned beef hash (he enjoyed it a lot! but for some reason, he only got all bread, was not expecting that), and my boyfriend got the bacon and eggs combo with toast (forgot I had bacon in my omelet, so I stole a piece which I did not regret LOL). Great restaurant to stop by for breakfast especially on the way down to Oregon or up north of Washington! Great portions with great prices and service. We got our food around 8am, missing the HUGE breakfast rush around 8:20-ish. Definitely recommend before that time or a couple hours after. read more

Anyone who gives this joint a less than five star review truly does not understand the joys and charm of the old time hometown diner. The only thing missing was an egg cream, but that's not a PNW thing. This NY girl gets it. What it does have is great, friendly service, excellent food and local flair. The characters in this place made me smile. Seating is close! You will hear your neighbors conversations and if you're lucky, they'll include you! My husband gave the chicken fried steak two thumbs up. Said it was one of the best he's had. I had the senior plate with a side of one biscuit and gravy. I can't believe I ate everything!! The senior plate was perfectly portioned and the biscuit and gravy sublime. The gravy was not greasy, as is often the case with sausage gravy, and I told my husband I could tell I wouldn't get heartburn splurging on it! So, so good! If I had one criticism it would the brown and serve type sausage. They were still tasty, but some real, casing style fat sausage would have been so much better. But I am being nitpicky here. Next time I'll just get the bacon. Don't be deceived by the tiny parking lot and the older looking building. This is a "dive" you don't want to ignore. Sure, you may need to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth it. (FYI: we were seated immediately.) read more

I don't review often but...We stopped in on our road trip and it was an easy off the interstate stop. We had chicken fried steak, eggs Benedict, BLT and the all American breakfast and it was fantastic. Eggs were cooked so perfectly and the gravy had great consistency and flavor. I seriously would drive an hour just for this breakfast. The service was so good on all levels. A great family atmosphere with enough sound barriers that we could still have our own conversation without others overpowering.
