We waited 40 minutes in the drive thru for our order (2 sandwiches and a small mac). We attempted to check our food before leaving, but Panera had ever so graciously decided to use the sandwich ID stickers without bothering to label which sandwich it actually was. So, given the wait and to avoid holding up the the car behind us (a grand total of two cars in the drive thru) for another several minutes of unwrapping and checking our orders, we headed home. Surely, in the 40 minutes of us waiting they found time to check the order before handing it to us, right? Wrong. We ordered a whole Bacon Turkey sandwich but were given a half sized plain chicken salad sandwich (containing ingredients I'm allergic too, of course). We also ordered the chipotle chicken sandwich, which somehow came with a whole entire avocado but missing the actual chicken...which was just weird at this point. $28.00 for sandwiches we couldn't eat (plain bread and avocado are usually better as toast eh?) and some cold mac and cheese. Agree with the other reviewer, hit and miss. Panera is pretty reliable so I was excited to see one open by my work, even happier to see it had a drive through. Unfortunately, they got my order wrong and I didn't notice they gave me tuna instead of chicken salad until I got to work. They also gave me an extra unidentifiable sandwich which I assume belongs to someone else. The girl at the drive through looked really annoyed when I asked her to look up my Panera card via phone as well. The second time I went the order was fine so I can't say either is consistent yet Went back today for the first time and while the order was right after the drive thru, did find a glove in our bag. While the food in the photos on the website looked delicious, the actual items are disappointing. I ordered a triple grilled cheese, the steak sandwich, and two chocolate cookies. They both sucked, but the cookies were dope. The one star is only for the cookies. The cheese was dry. I would recommend bringing your own. The steak meat tasted old, dry, and cold. If I could give zero stars I would... by far the dirtiest Panera bread I have ever visited. Came in on Saturday afternoon (not busy at all). Service is horrid my girlfriend when to do grab her own food from where the server is supposed to pick up because the cook and the manager in the back just stare at you like your SUPPOSED to get your own food. Lakisha(Kiki) took my order at the counter and was friendly. She made good suggestions for me and future recommendations. I have waited to post this review because I didn't quite know how to rate it. I have gone here twice and have twice been the first person in the store when it opens at 6 AM, I believe and twice I have felt like even though I received exactly what I ordered, it could have been presented better. That is to say, twice I have ordered a cinnamon raisin bagel toasted with cream cheese and twice, despite being the first person there have received a "just toasted" cold cinnamon raisin bagel. The reason is that staff are still prepping for the day when you arrive first in the morning and when I actually went through the drive thru I noticed that my bagel was toasted and placed aside while the employees prepped "more important things" than my hot, toasty bagel. I actually had to gesture to an employee to pass me my already paid for bagel that was just chilling on the counter while he made up salads. "Get me through breakfast, Dude. Then prepare those awesome salads". Salads looked good but I needed my bagel hot and toasty! The first time I ordered my bagel it was toasted, cold, and sliced weirdly. Will I return........yeah. So good! Highly recommend! I ordered on the app at about 10am, had my order scheduled for 11:10am. When I walked in it was ready! I didn't have to wait at all. I had never done the order online, pick up in store before so I had to ask an associate what to do but she was incredibly friendly and helpful. Don't go here. Seriously! DO NOT GO HERE. You're going to leave angry and disappointed about the service and food. I don't think the employees are to blame. They are just trying to do their job as best as they can but there are not enough of them to get it done efficiently. But I'm telling you to not stop here because it is honestly the worst place I've ever been to. The people in the kitchen are bombarded with online orders, in-store orders, and the drive-thru. You will wait over 30 minutes for them to make it to your order. Once they get to your order they will let you know the soup/salad/sandwich you ordered is no longer available because they ran out of it and will ask you for what you want as a substitute. I work near this location and have been for breakfast and lunch and the process is always the same. So please do not go here unless you enjoy disappointment or like to waste your time. read more

Pretty disappointed- I ordered the new Ten Vegetable soup. This has become one of my favs at Panera Bread, so I've been ordering it quite frequently at a different location in town. I was surprised to find that the soup I ordered at this location looked like it was on the verge of going bad. The vegetables had all turned brown ( the corn kernels weren't even yellow anymore and nor did any of the other vegetables have their usual vibrant color). On top of that, I found a lemon slice in my soup which I've never had in any of my previous soup orders. I took that as a sign that they were trying to either fix the taste of a bad batch or make a effort to maintain some kind of freshness. Either way, the taste was off and it was such a disappointment. Ordered a vegetarian soup and was horrified to find a glob of turkey in it. I took it to the counter and they got the manager. The manager said they don't have ground meat on the menu. I explained it's ground up because I (the vegetarian) have been holding it in my hand for the last 2 minutes. They offered to get me another soup (as if I hadn't completely lost my appetite). They did give me a refund, but honestly that doesn't make up for a mistake like this. If you bother to put a V on your menu for vegetarian, your excuse of "we probably just dropped in there accidentally" is completely unacceptable. While we're here...the food was lukewarm at best and the grilled cheese wasn't grilled. read more

I went with my dad to buy some muffins and we accidentally ordered 2 blueberry muffins instead of 1 blueberry and 1 cranberry so we went back to ask if we could exchange 1 blueberry muffin for the cranberry one. And when we went back to ask one of the employees who was clocking out if we could exchange one of the muffins she said " ask her" and she pointed to another employee. This employee said she couldn't exchange it and that she would give it to us, which was kind of her to do but the way she said it was so rude and she just threw the muffin In the bag as if In a rush to get us out but, no one else was in line. It was our first experience with Panera Bread and it was just ok. We expected more after seeing a very nice ad on TV. This store has convenient location right on Westheimer and surrounded by other food places. The interior of the place is nice and has a lot of natural light. But it was dirty - napkins on the floor and tables had dirty plates on them and looked like they were there a while. We placed our order on the machine which was confusing a bit and there was no servers to ask to help us out. We got a couple of sandwiches and soups. So, servers forgot about our food. It was sitting on the counter for a good time and, of course, when we got the food it was cold already. Food runner offered us to change it and gave us free pastry which was nice. When we finally got our order, food tasted just alright - nothing special. I'm happy we've tried Panera but I don't think we would be back there. read more

This is my second time writing a horrible review.. this location needs to hire people that want to be at work. My order was suppose to be delivered between 8:00-8:15 am I get an email saying my ordered has been delivered. Mind you this Panera is 9 mins away from my job!! I called the store and they said they would get in touch with the driver after about 10 mins no one followed up with me. I called the store again and a lady answered the phone and made every excuse in the book for why order was late. She said it was cold out side, first off when you go in for a job especially being a delivery driver you take on every responsibility weather it's cold or hot outside the food still has to get delivered. My problem is don't tell me my food is delivered and after almost 40 mins I still don't have it... I'm currently writing this review and I still don't have my food after being told the driver was 7 mins away it's currently been another 15 mins and I still don't have my food. Delivery that was online 8:15 actually delivered 9:00 and food and drink is cold this is a problem.. Panera needs to do better!!! read more

Went to get a cinnamon bagel at 10 am. I saw there were none in the bin and just a few other buns holding a few other flavors. More empty bins then full, which I found odd for a bagel place. I asked if they were making more of the flavor I was looking for and was told no that is all they had and no plans to make more. This Panera Bread recently opened in this new shopping center. I got two orders of the "You Pick 2:" (1)Small Mac & Cheese with Cup of Autumn Squash and (2)Four Cheese Grilled cheese and BBQ Chicken Flatbread. I also ordered a large kitchen sink chunky cookie BUT they didn't end up giving it to me. I am very sad about that and will be going back with my receipt to claim my cookie. The customer service was not as welcoming as I remember (I used to go a lot in Tampa, FL). The cashier was busy changing the signs to the lunch menu and seemed irritated about having to stop that to attend to guests. The cook had to say welcome to panera. (This did not impact the stars.) Panera has changed their ingredients for the better! The food tasted like it had a lot less sodium. I ordered to eat there so I didn't get to look at the contents, which I recall they provide you or you can look online. The soups used to be very high in sodium. The Autumn Squash, at the very least, is low in sodium (by taste) and seemed healthier. It felt like tasting fall (the season). I would not recommend the grilled cheese sandwich. They just spread shredded cheese you might buy at HEB on thick toast. Leaves much to be desired. The flatbread was really good and came served like a taco. The meat however was questionable; it was either I can't believe this is fresh or processed. It was mixed up pretty good with the white cheese so it was hard to tell. It looked like tofu after a few bites. The mac and cheese was really good. My son loved it. I recommend that and the autumn squash. Definitely will get it as my next pick two because they are both healthier options. read more

They have (I believe) six kiosks. At the time I went, only one was working. Why have them if they don't work? After trying and failing to order at the kiosks, my work group, 5 of us, ordered separately but in succession. Between the time the first and last orders came out, the first three had finished their food when the last two were starting. The food was good, but that was the only positive. Several of the staff also had very unprofessional uniforms and verbiage. I thought it was because it was a new restaurant, but I found out they have been open for a while. Called back, I can hear a gentleman complaining and yelling (I'm sure he had a horrible experience as well). The same lady I spoke to earlier says "Hmm I'm sorry we will send it out...
