I ordered dinner to go for my family on the online app. The app notified me that the order was ready for pick up so i headed to the store. When I arrived, i checked the pickup spot for my order and it was there. I opened the bag to make sure everything was in there (it was a large order) and my large mac n chz was missing. I asked if there was another bag coming for my order to which the manager (didn't even look at me) but snapped there was another bag. So i stepped back and waited. After 15 mins of being ignored, i walked back up to the counter and the same lady (mgr) snapped at me that the order "was all there". I told her it was not, and that i was missing the mac n chz. She snatched the bag out of my hand and began to look through it. She was incredibly rude and acted as if I had done something wrong. Eventually she put the missing item in the bag and I left. She could definitely use some customer service training. Disappointed in this visit for sure. read more

Worst Panera in the chain. The food is never to the standards of other Panera's, the dining area is dirty and the staff is grumpy. Please stop asking my family if we all want to eat off of one plate. I have been to this location a few times. The staff is always friendly the food tastes amazing. Normally dont have time to eat during the morning but they recognize this and get the food perfect and to me in less time so I can go about my day. The Panera in Gig Harbor is BY FAR the cleanest and friendliest Panera I have ever been to. I love the new system where they bring your food to you --- they have worked out all the kinks and I have not had any problems since the first week when they switched over. I am a vegetarian - so I love that the menu clearly states "vegetarian" or "vegan" options. This is especially important when it comes to soup - most soup consists of beef or chicken broth even if there is no meat in the actual soup. I greatly appreciate this as I have had bad experiences with soups at other restaurants (not a story for Yelp!). My go to meal is the Pick 2: Mediterranian Veggie + Black Bean soup. I try to be healthy and choose the apple as my side - but let's be honest...I usually go for the wheat baquette because it is soooo delicious to dip in your soup. read more

This was the first time we ordered on line for the curb side pick-up. We ordered 1 scrambled egg, bacon and cheese sandwich and 1 scrambled egg and cheese sandwich, fruit parfee and 2 large coffees. I put in all the required information for the curb side pick-up. We never got the curb side pick-up, I had to go in and get the food and the parfee and coffee were not ready. When we started eating the sandwiches nether had cheese or bacon on it. The sandwich was dry and tasteless. All this for $25.00. What a waste of money and tip for bad food and service. I absolutely LOVE Panera and it's my go-to place...however this location is overly packed at lunch that literally people were roaming around standing as there were no spots to sit and eat. I was lucky enough to snag a spot and quickly ate so these families who were there could sit, but come on. Their food is very good for what they make. That being said, if you want a croissant don't count on them having one at this location. Apparently according to the manager they only get 3 to 4 croissants per day. The manager told me if I place my lunch order first thing in the morning via their app, I'd be guaranteed to get one. However today, I placed my order at 8:01 AM and they were already sold out of croissants. When I placed my order on the app, it said they had croissants in stock but when I went to go pick it up at lunch she said that catering took them all. And no way for them to notify me via the rapid pick up app that they gave my croissant away. So I had to go without lunch today. What is the point of only having 3 to 4 croissants? Why even advertise that you carry croissants if you're only going to par 3 to 4 per day? Poor customer service and inefficient management. read more

I'm normally a big fan of a "Pick 2" at Panera, where you can get a 1/2 sandwich and a salad, or soup (or other combinations of any two). The ceasar salad is always great and the breads are always fresh, but In my last two visits, I've been disappointed with my 1/2 sandwich (sierra turkey). Generally not a chain fan, but it's getting harder and harder to avoid if you want a simple meal - Panera Bread Co has been recommended to us many times and we finally made it in for lunch. Uptown eateries get very busy at lunch hour, we went early and by the time we left it was full. It was bigger and nicer than I anticipated, the menu nicely varied. Biggest thing they have going is that they do offer healthy ingredients! "All-natural, antibiotic-free chicken" was a big draw for me. We've had sandwiches, pot pie, and also ordered two Cobb salads to take home for later - they were generous, tasty, definitely a decent salad - not the best ever, but good. On a 1-10 scale I would have to go for a six, but in my book that means repeat business sometime and I'm rare on anything higher - we'll give it another go or two, lots of items sound interesting. It's nicer than the standard deli and though a little discombobulating, definitely busy for the lunch crowd - a good spot worth trying again. *******All in all it's ok - the order taking people desperately need to learn to speak a bit more distinctly, rather than rapid fire script. I've gone to this Panera since I was a child. My grandparents would always take me there every time we were gonna get dropped off or if they felt like having some Panera. There food is so good I love everything there. They have so many items to choose from. I usually get Mac n cheese but I LOVE THE NEW broccoli cheddar Mac n cheese, and with a salad! Time and time again I give this Panera second chances. I go here probably 3-4 times a month. However, when I do pickup orders (which is almost always) my order is incorrect. I mostly go in the morning for bagels and coffee. Hot and iced coffee are both self serve and brewed pretty strong which i like. Bagels are fresh and dont need toasting. They are kind of pricey though. Chai lattes are ok. Not sweet or spicy kinda bland. The salads are good but im not crazy about their romaine its not leafy enough. I LOVE THIS PLACE! It's absolutely wonderful to have a place close by that I know is going to be good tasting, affordable, and healthy for my entire family. I've been here I don't know how many times, and it is always consistent, the people are friendly, the food is fresh, and the atmosphere is cozy and elegant, plus my kids love it. The baked goods are wonderful, and I love that the restaurant donates breads and baked goods to soup kitchens and homeless shelters. Although I do love Panera, and I really do, I dislike this location for a variety of reasons. First, they're always out of something. Out of soup, out of bread bowls, out of bagels, out of meal baguettes, out of orange juice, out of forks, out of straws...need I continue? There hasn't been one visit to this location where they're NOT out of something. I just feel that this location is really under-stocked or not managed as well as other locations. Second, their baking isn't... really up to par I suppose. I love to stop by in the mornings and get their egg souffles--they're generally amazing. But there's been a 50/50 chance that I get egg shells in my souffle, which completely and utterly ruins my morning and my breakfast appetite. I figured it would be a one time experience, but I have had this happen a variety of times. And each time it happens, I'm already on the road to work and can't just drive back for a different one.Third, calling in a pick-up order is a crock. We called in orders for a family get together and when we arrived to pick up our order, we discovered upon getting home that they not only forgot half our order, but charged us for an extra helping of soup. Needless to say we called back and returned for our food but was not offered any compensation for the extra soup. Instead they insisted we ordered it and gave us the extra soup (the other half of our order was sitting on the back counter...they just never put it in the bag). I love Panera, so I will definitely continue to go for their broccoli and cheddar soup, but not to this location. read more

The food is consistently good and they do a great job at making sure that customers are pleased with their service. On a recent visit, I placed my order and the cashier wasn't very good at taking the order and my order was not correct. After I sat down, someone from the kitchen came and provided me with the corrected items. I thought that was pretty good to make it right. I also like that I can use my Panera card and build up some benefits -- free drinks, free pastries -- along with the other good things -- like free WiFi.
