    Chicken gorgonzola tortellini

Tried Tacoma's version of the Soup Nazi. So good! I tried the spicy ham and collard greens and the chicken marsala. Both were outstanding. I wish the marsala had either a pasta noodle of some type or potato in it. Regardless, it was great. The ham and greens was really good too. Looking for it to be a little saltier, but still excellent. The chicken gorgonzola tortellini is phenomenal. No need to adjust anything here. Also tried the creamy sausage and garlic soup, also perfect. The pozole tasted great, just like what I make. Almost exactly. Props to me for making it as good as this place! Top tier soup take out! So good!

Infinite Soups is always amazing, and today's fabulous lunch didn't disappoint: lemon-pesto tortellini, 3-cheese potato, spicy Thai tofu, mushroom gorgonzola tortellini ... and delicious biscuits. And thank you for your work in the community, especially today's commitment to donating 50% of proceeds to Tacoma Community House. You feed the stomach, the soul, and the community!

Great flavor and solid variety, and I love that their bread comes from local sources. Customer service is hit or miss. My first visit was great, but every time after that, when I've dealt with a woman with long dark hair and black glasses, she's come across rushed, short, and cold. It feels like you're inconveniencing her just by ordering. Those interactions make it hard to want to come back. This makes the ambiance not the best.

I love Infinite Soups and I'm so glad I found this place via Yelp. It's a small little take-and-go counter, cash only. The soup list is on the counter or on Facebook, when a soup sells out, it's gone until next time. Besides soup, they have some cool other stuff for sale, like records. Take as many crackers as you want, honor system. The staff is friendly, and more importantly, Infinite Soups is a good neighbor, meaning they participate in fundraisers for local causes and support other local businesses. But, most important of all, the soups are legit. I'm a soup lover and I've tried quite a few of their soup offering and they have all been delicious! My favorites so far have been the Chicken Pozole Verde and the Spicy Hungarian Sausage, I'm looking forward to trying the Korean Potato Stew. I'll warn you, if you order a spicy soup, it's going to be spicy, they're not playing around! And I like it that way!

One of the highlights of my last trip to Washington was visiting Infinite Soups in Tacoma, Washington. Owners Wendy Clapp and Todd Deshazo managed The News Tribune cafeteria prior to creating Infinite Soups. Their soups were by far their most popular item. They started by selling their soup at a weekly farmers market. They opened their brick and mortar location at 445 Tacoma Ave. S. in 2007. Over the years, Infinite Soups has offered more than 1500 different types of soup. They create an estimated 100 new soup recipes each year. Clapp states, "I think soup is a democratic food, you know? Every culture eats soup. Every income level eats soup. Everybody eats soup!" The soups offered include traditional soups from all over the world. The soups are made from produce sourced from Zestful Gardens, a small organic farm and CSA in the Puyallup Valley, near Tacoma. Infinite Soups offers 17-20 soups that are made from scratch every day. There are four categories available: Creamy, Non-Creamy, Vegetarian, and Vegan. If you want to have the most options available to you, you need to get there before 1 PM. For my first visit on 5/17/24, I arrived about an hour before the store closed. There were just 5 options left, none of which were my preferred Creamy style soup. The young man working behind the counter, kindly offered to let me sample all five, and I did. They were all EXCELLENT! I had a hard time deciding which one to get and asked him which of these was his favorite. He recommended the Basil Artichoke (Vegetarian). I went with it. I got a 16 ounce size. Unfortunately, that late in the day there wasn't any fresh baked bread available, so I got crackers. There is no indoor seating at Infinite Soups, so I drove to nearby Dune Peninsula at Point Defiance Park. Even though the Basil Artichoke soup was Vegetarian, it was fairly creamy. The basil flavor was subtle. It tasted more like a great Artichoke soup. Now that I know about this wonderful business, I'll be sure to visit every time I'm in town. Highly Recommended!!! *Infinite Soups is a Cash-Only business. Service is quick and the workers are friendly. Their bánh mì đặc biệt (deluxe sandwich) and the cà phê sửa đá (iced condensed milk coffee) are my typical go-tos. The sandwich has layers of meat and portioned appropriately. The pâté adds a rich umami flavor and the Vietnamese bơ (mayo) gives it a buttery flavor. The veggies are always healthy and seem fresh. Also their jalapeños actually have a kick unlike most places I've been to. I recommend this staple to anyone looking for a solid Vietnamese sandwich in Tacoma. Great place to chill and have coffee to start your day. They have other foods like noodle soups, stews, and a rice plate. It was crunchy and not too salty or bland. The ratio of scallion, seafood, and batter was perfect. They did not skimp out on the squid. The size of the squid was about one phalange. When I bit into the squid it was chewy, springy, and meaty. It's amazing to me how they managed to make the pancake crunchy despite filling it with so many ingredients. The kimchi and radish were super flavorful and not too spicy! Kimchi was sooo good. Even though the side dishes were limited, I enjoyed the freshness and taste. I also tried the samgyetang (Korean chicken soup) and bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) for the first time. The samgyetang was light and hearty. The broth could have been a bit sweeter. I probably wouldn't order this again though because I like more flavor. Though the bibim naengmyeon was too spicy for me, it was refreshing. It looks rough on the outside, but it is all heart on the inside. You can tell this restaurant has been well-loved in this neighborhood for years. I dug the community vibes and organized hustle and bustle atmosphere. We sat at the counter because it was a full house with many more customers waiting in line to get a table. I'm so glad we sat at the counter-- best seats in the house IMO because we got to chat with the friendly staff and get a close-up view of some entertaining behind the scenes action. I highly recommend the Combo Plate ("Cơm Thập Cẩm" that's comprised of roast duck, roasted pork, and BBQ pork over steamed rice with pickled veggies and their house sauce). Ohmygosh, what a treat!!! Everything tasted so good and the service was welcoming and efficient. It was a lot of food so I took about half of it to go. Including a stuffed sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf that was in a pile next to me and looked too irresistible for me not to take at least one home. This restaurant is a new favorite of mine in Tacoma. They informed me that a more fancy-looking and modern one is located in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle. I plan to check it out one day. Hopefully, it'll be just as great as this OG one.

Food: I'm an American born Chinese kid from California and the food here could go head to head with anything in San Diego or LA. The broth is clean and simple Chinese style soup, not too salty and perfectly reduced. They load the bowls with tons of protein and are very flexible with whatever combination of proteins you want. The cha sui is perfect with just the right amount of sweet glaze and a touch of char to keep it interesting. The roast pork has one of the crispiest skins I've had which you can just let soak in the broth to your desired consistency. The duck is moist, tender, and relatively meaty (sometimes restaurants source scrawny ducks which are mostly bone). The weakest part of dish is the which have that store-bought taste and could be fresher and slightly more al dente. Overall this some of the best Chinese BBQ I've had, as good as any major city I've been. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

This woman knows how to manage a large, hungry group! To perform this with that kind of calm efficiency is a real skill! The whole team reflected the same energy.
