We ordered via Grub Hub and picked up. Worked great and the food was excellent. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the Fried rice with chicken. Pretty boring you may think, but Chang Thai prepares it so well it's our favorite order. Always well prepared and the service polite, friendly and fast. We were extremely happy with the entire experience.

Panang Curry with chicken 2.5 star

The service was good, the ambience is pretty standard - booths with paper napkins. It is very casual in nature. There were more takeout clients than dine in. The food was excellent, they nailed the 2.5 star not being overly spicy. We really enjoyed the pad thai, I know it is such a basic dish but they did it well! Really enjoyed our dinner.

Outstanding. The service is outstanding. The bathrooms are spotless and the food is without question some of the best Vietnamese food in the Pacific Northwest. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Wide drunken noodles with beef. It always is amazing here every time I come here!

It's amazing every time I come here, the food is made perfectly and the sauce and they make it gluten free options for me every time! Love it!

Based off recommendations we decided to try some nice hot Korean soup…read more Well... when we arrived around 5p it wasn't busy. It was located in a dimly lit strip mall, the only bright store was a boba tea store next door. When we entered there was a weather Matt propping open the second door. However, the edges were raised causing a fall risk. We were greeted by one staff member (didn't see any other one in the front). She pointed us to the corner where the high chairs were located (since we were with our toddler). We ended up sitting in the front side alcove to prevent our kiddo from running a muck. The staff rolled her eyes at us. We ordered the brisket bone soup, seafood soup, mandu and the seafood pancake. The pancake was thick and unevenly cooked. There were cold spots in the pancakes. The Mandus were steaming hot same with our soups. We were used to multiple side dishes with our means but we only got two types of kimchis. The ambience felt more like a karaoke bar than a restaurant. The water cups were dirty and the food was nothing special. Would not consider this kid friendly since the menu was limited and even though there was high chairs there was no other accommodations for young families. The service was typical Korean restaurant. Food delivered and with instruction. Was disappointed they charged us for to go containers without telling us. Maybe this is something common in Lakewood, we're not from around here so maybe we missed the memo. $0.25 a container? Would've brought my own. Overall consistent with other Korean eatery, prices more than other Asian delicacies. Service on par with past experiences. Parking sketchy but plenty of space, ambience was clubby not family oriented. Cleanliness was "ok" Food flavor was as expected, nothing to recommend as a must try.

Such a comforting soup specialty spot!…read more The space is clean, spacious, and the service is quick. * The brisket seolleongtang has a great, rich bone-broth flavor, but I do wish there were more noodles and meat. I honestly wouldn't mind if they raised the price by a dollar or two for a more substantial portion. * The yukgaejang is perfectly hearty and well-flavored. This is something I ate often growing up and it is always perfect here. * Their steamed dumplings and seafood pajeon weren't my favorites. The dumplings lacked flavor, and the pajeon had only a handful of very small octopus/squid pieces. * You only get two sides of kimchi, and they're on the sweeter side. That said, I do like the radish kimchi better than the napa kimchi.

I visited for the first time on Friday around 17:00, and the food was absolutely delicious!…read moreThe parking lot was already starting to get busy when I arrived, with all the spots taken up at Ho Soon Yi. There were only a few tables inside but almost half of them were already occupied with several customers. I was quickly seated for a table of 1. The tables are fairly close together and the noise level is low enough to hear conversations around me. I didn't mean to eavesdrop, but I did hear other customers comment at their tables that the food here is good. There's a few ajummas working here, so service was straightforward. I ordered the kalbi dolsot bibimbap, which seemed inexpensive and came with some complementary sides, and they were nice enough to cut my kalbi into bite-sized pieces for me. I would say, if I can finish my food in one sitting at a restaurant, I am either really hungry, satisfied, or both. In this case, it was both! This is my first dolsot bibimbap after moving to Washington recently, and I am glad it did not disappoint.

We ordered the galbi, bulgogi, galbi-tang, seafood tofu soup, kimchi fried rice, and beef fried rice. Everything was incredibly flavorful, and they included a variety of fresh kimchi on the side. Even with multiple dishes, our order was prepared within minutes. Such a cute mom-and-pop restaurant with great food, fair prices, and excellent customer service. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

They serve rice in the stone pots; the patrons are actually Korean; their side dishes actually taste good. I got the dumpling / mind soontofu, but there were only 3 dumplings. How sad. I should have gotten beef soon tofu. I also got an order of kalbi, which was pretty good. It was served over a bed of grilled onions on a hot sizzling plate. The servers are Korean ahjummas, and they do take their sweet time serving everyone. Actually, there was only one poor lady serving the entire dining room on a Saturday afternoon. Prices were high, that's fine considering how things are right now. But where I draw the line is forcing me to change my tip amount in front of my family because I believed that tips should be used as a reward system for above and beyond service. I tipped a good 10%. But because of my family size and which wasn't stated anywhere on the menu or the facility, I was embarrassed in front of my family and asked to raise it to a minimum of 15%. A shame that this wasn't just reflected in the already high menu prices. Pay your employees instead of having them resort to such atrocious aggressive tactics and begging. I previously refused to come back. But was only here due to a Mother's day request. I will now aggressively push back to anyone that even recommends this restaurant.

This place is consistently busy. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The building is a small house and has enough space for about 20-30 people inside. Probably another 20-30 if outdoor seating is available. You seat yourself or order from the front if hou are ordering takeout. Tables get cleaned immediately as soon as people leave. Service is quick and the workers are friendly. Their bánh mì đặc biệt (deluxe sandwich) and the cà phê sửa đá (iced condensed milk coffee) are my typical go-tos. The sandwich has layers of meat and portioned appropriately. The pâté adds a rich umami flavor and the Vietnamese bơ (mayo) gives it a buttery flavor. The veggies are always healthy and seem fresh. Also their jalapeños actually have a kick unlike most places I've been to. I recommend this staple to anyone looking for a solid Vietnamese sandwich in Tacoma. Great place to chill and have coffee to start your day. They have other foods like noodle soups, stews, and a rice plate. I haven't tried any of them, but it might be something I might look into in the future
