The restaurant is decorated nicely. Our server was friendly, and we got our food quickly. The food was really good! I prefer egg foo young with a thick gravy, and this place hit that mark. Beautiful decor and venue. I was pleasantly surprised to see how authentic it felt to be inside with all of the Chinese decor. Really nice touch, which you don't often anymore. It provides a sense of cultural pride that can be lost in some places. Went here for at friends bday party and we had a large crowd. What I enjoyed the most is that we could pre-order our food, which I appreciated a lot. Having a large group of people can mean a delay in getting food, etc. but they were super efficient and we received our food in great time. What a bonus and reflective of their service. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive even with such a big crowd. Usually I'm fighting to get noticed or anything additional from servers but when we asked for hot chili oil and eggroll dipping sauce, they came back quickly with the condiments. Now, I didn't give them a 5 because our food wasn't too hot, and the hot chili oil was not hot as in spicy. It was good but not what I had expected. The eggroll was OK but the hot and sour soup and the beef green bean was so yummy. Well-seasoned. I also really liked that they have indicidual dinner meals! That is so nice when you don't want to spend so much, or want to get something specific and not share. Lastly, I bought sesame balls- just a nice sweet but subtle treat and they were so good. So delicious that when I got home, I ate the rest! I didn't plan to. Just happened lol! They are located by PLU and a little further than I would go for food since I live in North Tacoma. Awesome place for American Chinese food! We ordered a combination dinner for our table of 3. It included General Tso's chicken, beef with green beans, vegetable lo mein noodles, steamed vegetables with garlic sauce, and spring rolls. Every dish was cooked to perfection with outstanding flavors. The portions were certainly enough for 4 adults, which left us with plenty for leftovers to bring home. Excellent service, very clean with beautiful and ambient decor, and the value and menu offerings made the whole experience well worth it. I'm very much looking forward to coming back! read more

Really good dim sum place! Came in for brunch when they opened at 10, we were surprised to see how many people were waiting for them to open, just goes to show that this place is good. Service is quick and efficient, tea and water arrived as soon as we sat down, order on your phone from a QR code at the table and within maybe 20 minutes the food had arrived. Potstickers and veggie spring rolls were our favorite, the potstickers are very meaty. The daikon cakes have a noticeable oceanic flavor from the shrimp, so you have to be in the mood for that. read more

I ordered the Mongolian Beef and it came with soup, I chose Won-ton and it tasted homemade-fresh. The fried rice seemed ok, it was missing all of the goodies I love (egg, veggies), there were some peas, but it was pretty bland for fried rice. Tons of leftovers as portion sizes here are massive. This place is great! I went with my nephew and his girlfriend while visiting Washington as this is their favorite Chinese restaurant and I can see why. Came in right after opening for a Togo order. Food took a reasonable time. Customer service was awesome! Restrooms were clean. Beautifuly decorated! I HIGHLY reccomend the salt and pepper squid! I've probably been here 6 times now and I think this last visit will be the last. Food is inconsistent, the protein portion is small and everything is heavy with veggies to give the appearance the portion is generous. On my first visit, the food was at least 4.5, but the portion was small and we left hungry. On the next visit, someone forgot the salt, the food was bland and soy sauce just made it worse. Potstickers are also low on meat, so when you bite into it, it's mushy since it's mostly vegetable. On our last trip, everything tasted different, instead of salt and spice, everything was heavy with sugar. On this visit, we asked for no sugar, that said, the food was cold, I really got the impression that they make dishes Panda express style, and keep it warm until served. I could be wrong, but nothing else explains why our food wasn't hot. They also have an Egg Charge. I thought eggs came down in price? Too many surprises here and never a positive one. read more

We never went in restaurant but I have a free restaurant delivery account through Amazon Prime. As a prime member, I am about to order through Grubhub. When our family used this restaurant, we were impressed with the Shrimp Foo Yung and the shrimp fried rice. This was a good quantity of food. The food was piping hot. Just one time they got our shrimp foo yung order messed up and just gave us a plain egg foo yung. It is a forgiving and they gave me a refund. I will order from them again. What I liked is how hot was when it came to my home. I appreciate that and recommend others to try their food. I also appreciate the drivers who delivered my food. When pulling into this restaurant, you want to head stair to the back where the lot is. It's a little tight but not unmanageable. You can also enter the restaurant from the backside of the property. The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the amazing aroma and the exceptional cleanliness throughout the restaurant. My wife and I were greeted immediately when walking in, and seated within a minute or two. After looking over the menu a bit, we knew what we wanted and the server was there in no time to take our order. Service was so friendly and the two person team did a wonderful job of working together to be truly attentive to each tables needs. My worst lunch ever at Forbidden City in Parkland. I had the worst experience at lunch today. My egg flower soup looked like raw runny eggs and slimy. Then I had ordered Almond chicken which I could not cut through. The almond sauce was grainy and had a very bitter taste. When I told the waiter he simlpy said sorry, and left the table. Nobody came out to try to make it better. It was so bad I would not even take home to my dog. I will tell everyone I know how awful the food was. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. If it weren't for the service this would be a one star rating to be honest. Our servers were super polite and attentive. The interior of the restaurant is actually very beautiful and ornate. Very clean and well appointed. As far as the food goes it wasn't great at all. First we ordered a few apps . First the chicken teriyaki for my toddler, but when it came out we didn't know what to make of it. It was skewers of chicken that had been deep fried, no sauce or anything resembling teriyaki. Then came the egg flower soup which was super gelatinous and almost tasted congealed. The potstickers were very run of the mill but not the worst. The vegetable tempura was heavily battered and greasy . As for entrees, the Mongolian beef combo had hardly any beef and it was overflowing with onions. The beef that was on the plate was super chewy, almost like chewing fat. The beef and broccoli was mediocre at best, the broccoli was soggy and the beef was the same as the Mongolian beef, chewy. The orange chicken and sesame chicken tasted basically like something you can buy bagged frozen at the grocery store with a sauce packet. The spring rolls that came with the dinner combos were also super soggy on the inside and nobody ate them. We were hoping for better quality because the Yelp rating was high, but we were sadly disappointed.
