I am surprised that the reviews are mixed. Every restaurant struggles through tough times. We ate here in the late afternoon after a movie and it was not busy. The food was great. I had the Pad Thai with pork and my wife had chicken curry. The Japanese old-fashioned is a great cocktail and I am PICKY about balance. Our dishes were great and we had plenty to take home. First let me say I was surprised to see the poor reviews from some of the Yelpers given our lunch was so good, the service was not super fast but then when you have to prepare each order as it comes in, that takes time. The place is lovely. There was only one server who seemed to be doing it all but she did a great job and was very nice. when i asked for tofu as my protein she asked if i was vegetarian or vegan to make sure there was nothing in the dish that I shouldn't have. Props for that. I had golden cashew which apparently can be vegan when modified. golden cashew is made with garlic, chili, vinegar, and our signature house sauce. Fresh vegetables are sautéed and the dish is finished of with your choice of meat, roasted cashews, and a side of steamed rice. Delish and I was able to bring some home for lunch today My friend had the Saigon Crepe Gluten-Free. VM. Also known as Bánh Xèo, literally translates to "sizzling pancake", is named for the loud sizzling sound it makes when the rice batter is poured into the hot skillet. Our Saigon Crêpe is a Vietnamese savory fried pancake made of rice flour, water, and turmeric powder. It is stuffed with bean sprouts, carrots, onions, and a choice of chicken and prawns, or tofu. There was a METAL BOLT in our food. Not to mention the few bites we had were terrible. We ordered on DoorDash and when I called to complain she said, "this has happened before!" We ordered to go. This wasn't our first time. The massamon curry was disappointing, it lacked flavor. The fresh roll's didn't have any shrimp, chicken or pork as described in the menu and they didn't come with peanut sauce. The pho was pretty blah. We won't recommend this restaurant. My kids and Grands love this place! Great food and great service. One of my favorite dishes is the swimming Rama with chicken.

The food was excellent, they have a spice rating 1-5 and you can request additional spices (dry, paste & oil). A little on the pricier side but the individual portions are a good size. If there was a negative, the appetizer was smaller than expected, especially if you are going to share. Some of the appetizers look like they can be single meals that you just need to order side of rice with. The staff was polite and attentive to making sure drinks were refilled and dishes picked up. They even placed the food into to-go containers for us. Careful when you come during the day as the window coverings are not on all windows and can be blinding when the sun is out. Sat near the bar, not loud or unable to chat at our table. We will be coming back and trying other dishes. read more

I really want to recommend this place, but the staff is incompetent. We've given them three attempts, and they've failed every time. Spend your time and money going to a place that understands the importance of customer service. Restaurant owner, if you are reading this, you've got to prioritize hiring staff and customer service. Waiting 10 minutes for water, to take orders, is insane. There are just too many good places in GH to deal with this kind of poor service. Do better. And consider moving your front door. It's wild there is no staff in the please wait to be seated area. read more

I live in Nashville, but every time I come visit my family that lives in Gig Harbor I want to eat at LeLe, their caramelized chicken wings are the best wings I've ever had and I don't like chicken wings normally but there is something Soo delicious about them, I get them as my dinner. The food is always fresh, always polite service and I think good prices for the quality of food you receive. This is not some quick service frozen to cooked Asian restaurant, it's family owned and cooked fresh all the time. They honor special requests well and have never messed up an order to go or eat in and we are an extremely picky group. I highly recommend LeLe's to anyone looking for some yummy non typical wings and some great Vietnamese dishes! read more

Topline feedback for fellow Yelpers: Beware that if you dine in the restaurant, they may deprioritize your order over take out orders and still charge an excessive automatic gratuity of 30%. Will never dine here again. We recently dined at Lele and were very disappointed with our experience. Despite making a reservation for 6 ppl and arriving on time to a mostly empty restaurant, we waited over an hour for our food with no updates. When we went seeking our waiter to inquire we were told that our meal was delayed/deprioritized in favor of a large volume of take-out orders. This could have been avoided if the restaurant had provided a realistic estimate to those ordering take-out based on incoming orders, yet they passed the wait time onto those of us dining in-house. To add to our frustration, we were surprised to find a 30% (!) automatic gratuity added to our bill with zero prior notification. While it's common for restaurants to add an 18-20% gratuity for large parties, this is typically noted on the menu or website. Either way, a 30% charge is excessive, especially considering the wait we endured. When we tried to inquire about this, there was no one available to assist us and my elderly parents were fading and wanted to leave ASAP so alas, we just signed the check and fled. We wanted to share our experience as a caution to others and in the hope the restaurant addresses these issues for a better dining experience for others in the future. read more

I had spoken to Tucker about bringing a group in for dinner in a few days. He introduced me to Claryssa who would be working that night, and we had a few laughs together. Our group arrived and we had a lot space off to the side. Music was perfect and not too loud for conversation. We were greeted by Claryssa who took great care of us during our visit. We took some friends to Lele's so they could experience the fantastic food and service we have enjoyed in the past. Arrived early for our 5:30 reservation and was seated promptly. The service and attention was second to none. All of our needs were fulfilled graciously. We ordered Phat Si-Lo, Swimming Angel and two Curry dishes. Had dinner at Lele in Gig Harbor tonight and the food was delicious. We shared a more than ample size appetizer, the Saigon Crepe and they accommodated the vegan option with well prepared tofu. The vegan Swimming Angel, with perfectly grilled tofu, spinach with creamy curry coconut sauce was soooooo good - generous portion but I ate it all! I sent this to the restaurant last week, and since they have not responded, I am reviewing it here with a mod or two. Instead of leaving a review on social media, I decided to give you one using email. All my past reviews were on Social Media and were positive; however, this one is not. I have ordered this dish, SPECIAL SPICY PHỞ (Choice of meat, bean sprouts, carrots, onions, and special chili powder), maybe 15x, and 90% of the time; they get it wrong. It is always missing the onions and carrots. I have been there twice in the last four days, and both times they got it wrong. This last time which was last night, was terrible. It was missing the Onions, Carrots and it had no extra spice. I also ordered it at a heat level of 5, which had zero heat. A few days ago, it came out at a heat level of maybe two but was only missing the carrots. Last night, despite having no heat and missing the essential ingredients, it tasted diluted. Was there a different cook the previous night? The percentage of the components was minimal at best. My wife ordered the Pad Thai, which should be a staple, but it lacked flavor, and the portion size was too small. Again I asked whether a new chef was there last night. We won't be back for a while and hope you will correct the abovementioned issues. I think an email is better than a review online because this is unusual for your restaurant. Pre Covid your restaurant always got a 5-star review from me, but now it is close to 1-2 stars. read more

Last night we had a reservation for 6 adults for 5:15PM. We arrived promptly and were seated. The entire time we were there there were maybe 8 people in this huge restaurant. After about an hour they took our drink and food order. Saw no one in between time. After about another 30 minutes we got our drinks after we went to the bar to ask where are order was. After about 2.5 hours from the time we got there we received our food. No one checked on us in the interim. The food wasn't warm with little flavor. When we asked why it took us 3 hours to get our food they said they were busy with take out orders. Didn't leave until almost 8:30! Won't be going back and won't recommend. read more

We're already planning coming back for date night after my husband and I are vaccinated. Everything was taken to go and it was packaged carefully in a big box. They even taped down the lids to the broth. We ordered small chicken and small tofu pho, both w/beef broth: It was a generous portion but very little veggies compared to other places. We added more jalapeños when we got home. Next time I'll ask for a veggie pho with tofu or meat. (Sorry no pics of the pho! we ate it before I remembered to take pics lol) 1 chicken satay: Omg! I loved this the most. It's not on a stick like others but grilled and sliced. Came with fresh carrot and lettuce to wrap and an Awesome sweet turmeric sauce. I think it was coconut milk based. I'm 100% ordering this again! 2 Spring rolls: I just want to say it took me about an hour to get home and I'm sure that's why the wrapping was a bit tough. They are very big! We have been dining at LeLe since they opened. Especially since the pandemic the service has declined to the level of a painful experience. We noted what a previous reviewer noted in that take out orders were given priority. Since the service was poor at last visit also, when we did not have appetizer for 50 minutes I approached the waiter (he was not in proximity during the 50 minutes) and his response was it was "the Kitchen's fault, not his". Food arrived one hour after ordered. Our population is wanting businesses to stop blaming staffing shortages for poor customer service especially since the prices were raised supposedly to cover that problem. The owners are obviously ignoring the problems as they know Gig Harbor is short on quality restaurants. read more

I have never had Thai food this bad in my life. I'm quite familiar with Thai food and have enjoyed it at many other restaurants. I ordered the Phat Si Io (Pad See Ew) with tofu. First there was absolutely no sauce which is the best feature of the dish. Second the noodles were mushy and it didn't seem the food was stir fried at all. And lastly it had no flavor whatsoever. My wife, Nancy, and I have been dining here for the last 1.5 years, during and following the Covid pandemic. Over this period we've managed to occasionally include our daughter, her husband and our 3 year old grandson. Now our "kids" frequently order take out and Nancy and I typically eat at the restaurant following a visit to the Galaxy Theater. The food has been consistently good, and as mentioned in many other posts , generous in proportions. The Pad Thai and Phat Si Io are our current favorites. The wine selection, whites and reds, are solid, as are the draft and bottled beers. There have been occasions when we've had to wait a while for the food to plate the table but it has been worthwhile. The wait staff and management have been prompt, pleasant and attentive. Also meriting applause is the cleanliness of the premises, including the restrooms, which is of particular importance to my wife and daughter. We've noticed a steady uptick in patronage and are pleased the establishment is on a positive course. read more

Just had lunch with girlfriends here. We decided to go somewhere other than the Tides or Anthony's. Excellent service, great food and a nice rosé. Our waiter understood that we wanted to visit, so he didn't rush us but was there whenever we wanted something. We shared an order of two spring rolls, which he had cut in half for the four of us. They were delicious, as was my Vietnamese curry. We each had something different, and we all were very happy with our choices. We'll definitely return! We had a terrible experience this past weekend at this restaurant. I will start by saying the food was very good. However, the rest of the meal does not make it worth it. We were seated quickly. It took over fifteen minutes before we were brought water and had our order taken. But the real problem was after that. After thirty minutes, one dish out of four was brought out. The waitress said to start eating because the rest would take a while. The other meals weren't brought until after an hour from when waited in. The waitress only checked in once during this time. We came close to leaving. To their credit- they did discount one meal off the check but it should have been more. I will not go back. read more

We ate at Lele's about a week ago and something was very wrong with the service. After waiting some time for our orders to be taken we ordered apps and drinks and then nobody came back again to take our dinner order or deliver these. Finally the dishwasher came out and took our dinner order (announcing to us that she was the dishwasher). It took some time again but finally we got our drinks and appetizers and eventually the main courses. However, they did not bring serving utensils, so after waiting for some time we took spoons off another table to serve. They also did not bring any bowls for the soup. Eventually I got up and asked someone for bowls, and about five minutes later she brought three (but not four as there were four of us) and we asked for one more but she never came back. We dumped the rice out of one of the rice bowls and used it for soup. At the end of the meal they did manage to give us a check with no problem but never checked on us once during the meal or afterwards. I wrote to the management about this and did hear back offering us a free appetizer if we ate there again. This restaurant had been recommended to me by several friends, so I visited LeLe's for the first time last week. Our server's name was Claryssa. She was a personable and professional server who took very good care of my group. Her food recommendations were spot-on, and the food we ordered was delicious. I had the LeLe's Special, but the dishes my dinner companions ordered looked just as tasty as mine. We were all pleased with the food, service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. Claryssa's attentiveness made our evening even more enjoyable.
