I stopped in this morning to grab a coffee at the drive through. Sat at the drive through to order and no one greeted me. I tried to speak through the drive through kiosk, but no response. I then pulled ahead to the window, per the instructions on the menu board. Three employees on the inside of the restaurant turned and looked at me, and then went back to what they were doing. No one came to the window, so I left. I was considering joining the "Sip Club" this week . . . that's not happening now. I thought there might be some mistake but when I brought it to the attention of a worker, I was assured that this looked fine to her. This was a quick stop for lunch on our trip to NY. This location is a cookie cutter just as all of their other locations. Food was same as you would expect. I ordered an iced coffee with a shot and they were lost. Finally someone realized what needed to be done and went out back to get me the coffee. We order a toasted bagel with cream cheese at the drive thru at Gettysburg PA Panera 1-2x week. It's a challenge in a vehicle because they do not spread the cream cheese for the customer; so we ask for a paper plate. Today the drive thru employee told us cheerfully they don't have any. When we pointed out they are a restaurant (!) she asked her manager (twice!). Response: "they are for catering orders only". We didn't get a plate! read more

I was so thrilled to have Panera come to Gettysburg...and then this place opened. I have given it many chances but each time it just finds a new way to disappoint! The first time I visited, they gave me the wrong order after waiting nearly half an hour after my friends had received their food. The next time, I was given their potato soup after being assured by an employee that there was no meat in it. I've been vegetarian for years and have developed a meat intolerance...which I discovered after a night of getting sick from this bacon-laced potato soup. I visited again for a family member's birthday and ordered the Caprese sandwich, which turned out to be the worst sandwich I've ever had! How someone can mess up Caprese, I don't know. Save yourself. Absolutely worst customer service they make a mistake and screw up your order when you bring it to their attention they have no idea what to do. All they say is sorry but they don't even offer to fix it. They also won't help correct anything they just offer coupons that are only good for certain period of time, and not for the items that I would ever even order. Not good business or customer service. I've been waiting for a Panera to open closer to home, and was very happy when this one came to town. I used the drive-through window for my second visit (our first visit was flawless). The food on both visits was up to the standards I have come to expect from Panera. There's one sort of oddball thing that I found delightful--the outdoor ordering station had the best, clearest, audio from the staff inside that I've experienced at any drive-through EVER. I use drive-through ordering a lot because I often have my dog with me, on the way to or from obedience competitions. It's better than leaving him in the car, even briefly. The young woman at the window was friendly and cheerful; my order was promptly handed out and error-free. This is a recommendation. There was a meeting at church today, which ran into lunchtime. We ordered from Panera Bread, in Gettysburg, a green salad, salad with various fruits and chicken, a variety of 1/2 sandwiches with chips and cookies. The service at the Gettysburg store is terrible. I went inside to order food because I tried to place my order online but the App was not working. I was the first and only person in line. There was no one that the counter to take my order. I waited and waited. No one ever came. By this time another couple people were now in line behind me. The staff was walking back and forth from the kitchen to the bakery area. No one ever acknowledged us. They just looked at us and continued with what they were doing. This is very poor customer service. I was never waited on so I left. There are a lot of other food choices in this area. I got food somewhere else. I will never go there again. Also my passed visits were a nightmare as well. Given the wrong food on a pick up order and next visit they didn't have all of the ingredients to make the sandwiches I ordered. This Panera bread was the stankiest shit ive EVER eaten. I usually have good meals at panera. My friend wanted a blt with avocado and they really ran out of bacon and avocado and then proceeded to ask if she still wanted the BLT with avocado without bacon and avocado. This "grilled cheese" was a cold sliced cheese disaster. I enjoyed my day visiting college campuses such as gettysberg college and was excited to indulge in my panera but i swear this shit stank so bad like soso bad. do not go here you will get cold cheese sammies, and a flatbread without cheese. i will be treating my friends and I to wendys later as this was the biggest waste of $52.99 EVER. read more

We were so excited to have a Panera Bread in Gettysburg, but this place continues to disappoint. We have had to drive back to Panera on 3 separate occasions because they forgot to include parts of our order when going through the drive thru. Once, I ordered the Thai Chicken salad and received a salad container of lettuce, peanut sauce, and wonton strips only. I previously worked at a Panera Bread and I know this is not the standard they hold their employees to. So disappointing. read more

Finally....We got a Panera in Gettysburg! I have been to the newest location several times now and have had NO complaints. My wait time has been minimal even on a busy Sunday morning. My steak panini started on a brioche roll because they were running low on everything, but then they burnt the brioche, so it ended up being on a bagel. There was 3 pieces of steak on my roll and was just not pleasing at all. But, the lady made it all better and gave me a free (0.99$) cookie. (Sarcastic face) my girlfriends salad was minimal if there was even half a chicken tender cut up in the entire salad, and most of the lettuce in her "salad" was stem roots. I went to the new Panara and was a little disappointed. I love the steak and arugula sandwich and the onion soup. I ordered the pick 2, full sandwich and cup of soup. I asked if I could get it on a different bread. I thought it may cost a little more but .... WOW. for a full sandwich and cup of soup I paid almost $20. I was a little shocked but i figured, Ok I ordered it I will take it, I expected the sandwich should be awesome. It wasn't. Very little steak, and the sauce was plopped in one spot in the middle of the sandwich. What a let down. I don't mind paying for great food but to pay that much for mediocre food. my grilled cheese was cold. it was barely cooked. i got about 5 pieces of macaroni in my mac and cheese. the food took way too long for the quality i was given. the apple was rotted. there was no bread. even though it was near closing time, i still saw bread on the counter. my smoothie tasted like a go gurt i could've gotten for 2 dollars at walmart. instead of 5.
