Finally closed! This place was disgustingly dirty. Carpet was worn down and dirty. Seating was dirty and torn. You would walk in and it smelled musty and dirty. As soon as I would walk in, my allergies acted up. I received an email wanted to know how my visit was and I wrote how this place needed refurbishment besides that it was dirty. The lay out of this location is strange. There's a huge wall partition when you initially walk in. I didn't see anyone when I walked in around 7pm. But consistently short staffing has led to long wait times, a shortage of inventory, and a messy dining area cause by -not enough staff. Both the community and present employees deserve better. I've been here a total of six times. Every time it was because I got an unwanted Panera Bread gift card from someone I knew. Their customer service is subpar. Everybody looks like they hate working there. Usually I stand for a long time at the counter while they ignore me and the line that's building behind me. The other day was the first time somebody actually said that they would be with me shortly. The place doesn't look so great. I thought somebody had spilled stuff all over the booth seats but it was because the material was peeling apart. A lot of the tables are dirty and wet and some had been wiped down with a dirty rag and are smelling of old water. All of their baked goods are really dry and taste day-old. The last item I ordered was a pecan braid and it was so tough I couldn't even eat it. Their cookies taste day-old as well, but I did have a chocolate chip muffie that was pretty good. Their sandwiches are small and overpriced. I tried a number of their sandwiches and I didn't care for most of them. Their bacon avocado melt was greasy, but tasty. I ordered a half sandwich and it was smaller than a napkin. Their salads are okay size but seem to lack with ingredients and quality. Their ranch dressing is way too vinegary and their bacon pieces are way too salty. Most of the salads are drowning in dressing. I really wish the food would've been worth it. We had a $50 gift card we received for Christmas, and ordered a family meal to go. We had the 2 flat breads with 2 different salads and a side of mac and cheese. The flat breads were okay, nothing over the top. The salads were fantastic. The mac and cheese was also good, but nothing spectacular. The salads here are always fresh and yummy, and I enjoy the dressings. Next time I'd stick to the steak and arugula sandwich, or the Mediterranean veggie sandwich. I also love the kettle chips. This is honestly just a standard Panera bread. Parking lot area is busy and crowded. The size of the restaurant is spacious and good for at studying. For food, I knew I wanted mac n cheese and was looking at the dIfferent options. I saw there was a regular mac n cheese and one that said Cali mac n cheese. The Cali mac n cheese is mac n chelse with guacamole, cilantro, tomatoes, and onions. After the cashier told me what was in it, I said I wanted the regular mac n cheese. For a $14 dollar meal + drink, I was expecting the usual great quality that Panera has! My Frontega sandwich was missing the greens and the bread wasn't toasted. My "coffee" (if that's what you could call it) was practically milk. There was barely any coffee in it and essentially was a glass of milk. I could have had a cheaper and more filling meal from Starbucks; although they're notorious for overpriced food, an iced caramel latte and a full sized sandwich there would have costed LESS than the half sandwich and the measly excuse of a coffee that I got today at Panera. Heck, 7-11 would have provided more enjoyable (& affordable) food than what I just ate. This is by far the worst Panera's. I've been here several times and the service sucks! There are always late and filling the orders, the ice tea is always old. I took something to go. They didn't put any fork or napkins and I spoke to Joy, the manager and he said..there is a Cardinal ruin you need to put your girls and napkins yourself. I have been a member of the Unlimited Sip Club (formerly known as MyPanera+) since 2019. I usually visit Panera Bread 4-6 times a week to pick up some breakfast or beverages on my way to work. I visited a few Panera Bread locations in the OC, and all of their foods are good & fresh, and their customer service is attentive and friendly. However, the manager and staff at this location ( 2415 E Chapman) are not adequately trained to represent Panera Bread Company. For unknown technical reasons, my Rapid Pick Up order was not on the designated shelf 50% of the time, especially in this location ( 2415 E Chapman). When this happens, I need to wait in line with other walk-in customers and show the order ID from my phone. On June 26, 2022, I visited this store ( 2415 E Chapman) and my order was not on the shelf AGAIN. After an inadequately trained employee handed me a cup, I headed to the soda fountain to fill up my beverage. A discourteous manager approached me abruptly. I was thinking he came to apologize for the inconvenience of my Rapid Pick order experience or the clogged ice dispenser. Instead, he started to educate me about this Panera Bread location (2415 E Chapman) is franchised, so they have their own store policy. He states that no one is allowed to pick up their orders directly from the Rapid Pick shelf w/o verification regardless of what says on their official app or website as follows: (screenshot t attached) "If you've already placed a Rapid Pick-Up order, stop by the bakery cafe and pick up your order off the Rapid Pick Up shelf. The name on the MyPanera account or credit card used to place the order should be on the receipt attached to the bag. There's no need to go up to the register or check in with an associate (unless you'd like to stop by and say hi, of course)....." Customer satisfaction is the end goal for every store manager's decision when a customer issue pops up. The Rapid Pick-Up has been a repetitive issue in this location for months. A competent manager would fix the technical problem and simply post a sign to inform customers what to do when their orders were not on the rapid pick-up shelf to improve the customer experience, not arguing with customers about their hidden store policy for 15 minutes. read more
