Panera is a very reliable place to eat or pick up or have a delivery through an independent service. Their food is consistently fresh and well prepared. Recently I had some confusion over an order which was to be delivered but I was helped by the Manager, Kristen who made an adjustment to straighten things out. Once again, I stopped in to grab a cup of coffee. And again, they didn't have any brewed. Two empty pots off dark roast and light roast. They have this new ridiculous policy that after 2Pm They only break coffee on demand. So you have to walk in, ask them to brew a pot of coffee for you. Does anybody else feel this is ridiculous? Panera used to be our go-to (fast-food) restaurant, used to offer reasonable value and good food. We stopped ordering a few years back as they got more and more expensive, quantity got a lot smaller and quality of food went down. We received a marketing email with a coupon code SUMMER that could be applied to the Chicken Bacon Rancher or the Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad. I ordered the Sandwich, and my wife ordered the Salad. The cost for both with the coupon code applied was reasonable, so we thought, why not let's try them again? Chicken Bacon Rancher: Grilled chicken, applewood smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, and ranch on our Black Pepper Focaccia. This was the most boring sandwich I've had in years. Don't get me wrong; it is very filling, with large focaccia and plenty of chicken. However, mine was missing the cheese and very little ranch dressing and was just bland, very bland. I ate half and gave the other half to my wife. It's not worth wasting calories on such bland food. I would never order it again, even if it were $2.00; however, it is very overpriced at full price. Panera, you can do better. Strawberry Poppyseed Chicken Salad Romaine tossed in poppyseed dressing and topped with grilled chicken, mandarin oranges, fresh strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, and toasted pecan pieces. This was okay at the discount price, but it was a half salad. I would have returned for my money back if we had paid the full price. We did not get a side order of chips. The salad was okay, as stated, but not up to the standard that Panera used to offer years ago. We tried again, but sadly, we will bypass Panera in favor of other places with better quality and better prices. Just picked up two salads from Franklin Panera for lunch, we are not local just passing by. They added walnuts which is not part of the ingredients listing, we are very careful to look at ingredients before we order. We have nut alleges and can not eat them, it would be deadly. We called and they where very argumentative, wanted us to drive all the way back, not possible, we're not local. Then they said they don't even have walnuts, they sure look like walnuts to us, please see picture. I mean I try as much as possible to avoid any Panera, due to the underwhelming food and high prices and bad service. This location is one of the worst I have ever visited. The staff is as disorganized as they come and the inside of this place is dark and dirty, with stuff all over the floor and a weird set up and dining area. They took almost 30 minutes to prepare my order and when I got it, the soup was cold and sandwich was a mess. The staff mopes around here with no clue and the back area where they prepare the food is a mess. The afternoon I came in, the manager was there and she was as disorganized as the kids working in the back, barking orders with no one listening to her. Never again for this location and never again for Panera, I doubt you will see these places survive with poor customer service like this. read more

I went in to get my daily coffee as I am a Sip Club member. Was surprised that I had tyo wait in line in order to get my empty cup. This cost me 15 min of my time only because there were 2 people in front of me. Imagine if there were more in line. Why can't they just leave the empty cups by the Kiosks like they used to? Overall, had a good experience @ Panera tonight. Stopped in to pick a salad up after going to the gym. Called before hand to make sure they take Apple Pay - they do. However, I got there and tried to pay with Apple Pay and it didn't work. Not sure if it was something on my end not workin or theirs, but whatever, no biggie.. just ran home to get my credit card Shawn is the man - make sure you deal with him. He felt bad I had to run home and then back so gave me a cookie and couple other goodies. Nice touch and he actually made my day.. really nice guy. Unfortunately I arrived home to realize that there was no chicken on top of my green arugala chicken salad. Called up and spoke to a nice woman, Jamie, who made the mix up right. Not happy my boyfriend and myself where at the store around 8 I would of expected what I saw is what I got but not so much. I don't complain unless it's horrible. We where there the other evening earlier and still got stale bread and neither of us where impressed. So not like it was a fluke incident. The only thing I got that was good was my drink, I wasn't going to say anything about this because it's minor but they lost my drink too.. Had to remake it but that's okay. Sad when the drinks are better than the food. I don't see us coming back ill drive to the one in Framingham bc ik the food is always good there. It's worth the drive for better food. Very disappointed with Franklin Panera for the second time. Both times I ordered a small hot chai latte with my Door Dash order and the $6.00 + beverage was half full. I thought the first time was a fluke but clearly this was not the case. I don't understand how Panera can justify the price for 1/2 cup of beverage. The service was quick and simple. Everyone of the employees was friendly and efficient; for instance the line started to build up a bit, and another worker hopped on the register to help! However, the layout of the place is very confusing. The placement of the registers is absolutely awful.. You're constantly walking into people when trying to move to get your food. There's minimal walk space.. They don't use the buzzers to indicate when your food is done, instead they just yell out your name. Which is great and everything until you're sitting trying to relax and enjoy your meal and all you hear is an extremely loud woman screaming names every 2 minutes. I really like panera and I think people are generally overly harsh on the franchise. This location is different, it truly earns its abysmal 2-star rating. I've been here a half dozen times and every time I come in they are missing ingredients and more often than not my order is incorrect. Most of the time I get it to go so I'm very frustrated when it's wrong since usually I don't have the time to go back and complain. I know you're probably thinking, "Just eat it with your hand" YOU may do this, but I prefer to use a fork. I know I look like I'm sixteen and you may think were "buddies" but I'm actually twenty-five and don't need to get an attitude from you when I ask you for something you've forgotten to place on my tray. Well first of all. I placed an online order at 337 pm. It was confirmed. It was supposed to be done by 347 pm. I was waiting for about 10 minutes because I get it they get busy very easily. But when I'm waiting there for now 25 almost 30 minutes and it turns out they were never making it. I told the woman and I was so nice about it. I thought it was just because they were busy. Nope never made it. She's like "we are making that now" I was like wow. I've come here a few times do some work. It's a nice area to work remotely on my laptop if I don't have lots of calls to make. Unfortunately it can get a little loud at times, so not the best place to be having conference calls. I usually just get an agave lemonade and some of the chocolate stuffed croissants. WiFi is generally pretty fast too which is nice. But they don't have a lot of outlets, so be sure your laptop is charged fully before coming here otherwise you might run out of power. read more

Last time I my order was a blueberry bagel please toast dark and blueberry cream cheese. The bagel wasn't toasted and she didn't put in for another time. And they forgot my cream cheese when I looked in the bag, woman had to look at my receipt like I was going to steal a cream cheese. Staff is generally very knowledgeable and friendly. I LOVE the fact they have a non dairy option milk for coffee. They generally have at least two types of coffee besides Decaf. A great selection of sweets. Their cinnamon rolls are delicious. I like their whole grain bagels. They also have a great rewards program so I often get free coffee or bagels. A perfect spot for an afternoon snack or a quick bite when on the go. read more

I ordered the steak Panini with cheese, i think it was also supposed to come with sauteed red onions but did not, and it does not matter. With all the restaurants all over making their game much higher, Panera is serving up really lame tiny sandwiches on cheap flavorless breads. My sandwich did not even have 1oz of some sort of thin shaved beef, it was probably 1/2 an ounce. Really?? and their soups are tired and old, many on the menu for 15+ years. I came in with my mother and very clearly stated that we are gluten free (celiac) and asked if anything was safe for us. We were assured that all the salads are gluten free, so after confirming again we each ordered a salad. It was NOT gluten free! This is a convenient Panera - right off 495, lots of parking, however, the long wait in line, then long wait for a simple order, THEN the wait when you have to go back because they mess up your order, is just not worth it anymore. I see they now have receipts that have a line for 'Bag Checked By: ___' . Maybe this will work, but mine are always left blank, so still nobody is checking the orders, and forgetting the apple, chips, whatever, is now just expected at this location. Love Panera Bread products but hate the service at the Franklin Ma location. My wife and I walk in, there is only one customer ahead of us and two Panera employees are both waiting on her. We go to the sandwich area, decide what we want and wait as a manager and 3 other Panera employees, in the panini area watch us and the other 6 customers that came in while were waiting. Still no one moved until my wife and I walked out. This kind of poor service is common place for this location in Franklin. read more

As the only vegan in my family, and having young kids, it's often hard to find one place where we can all eat. Clearly fast-food burger chains are not an option at all, but that's ok because I'd rather my kids didn't eat at those places anyway. (Read the book "Fast Food Nation" if you're interested in all the negatives.) We like Panera because the kids will eat the turkey sandwich and yogurt, and also get them a fruit cup to share. Add to that a veggie sandwich for me, and something for my wife, and we still get out for less than $25. We actually plan our long road trips around Panera locations. :-) My only complaint is that at all of the locations, they're not great at getting special order sandwiches right. I order mine without cheese, and often have to bring it back. This location is much better than the one in Nashua though, who got it wrong more than half the time. (That rate suggests there is something deficient in their system, since I can't believe that all of their people ignore a sufficiently visible notation in the order screen.) Went here on a quick lunch break since I had been in a meeting all morning and had not realized that it was already past 2:00. Sheesh! Panera is Panera, either here in MA or CA. A stock full of options expansing sandwiches to salads and soups. I liked this location since it was right over the freeway and easy to get to. In addition, the staff there were extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered the turkey pesto focaccia and the clam chowder soup to go, all under $12.00. The sandwich was good, although a bit lacking in meat as well as the pesto (I am the condiment queen) and the chowder was lacking in salt, or my taste buds must have been dead. Why is this location always out of things? Why would they be out of soup at 6:30 on a cold, rainy night? ALL soups. If you order online (isn't that what we're supposed to do???), you can rarely complete the order because the bread selections are always out and you have to call the order in to make substitutions. Dirty tables and rude staff just add to the "charm" of this location. All Panera's, not just this location, have gotten very stingy with their sizes and what's offered but this location is especially cheap. Poor planning and poor staffing are management issues and this is the most poorly run store in the area. Wish there was a Cosi closer! read more
