Cashier got it right but kitchen messed it up two days in a row. WTH is going on with the staff. Then I order a cookie and the bottom of it looks like someone was picking at it. Didn't know you sold hollow cookies. For $3/cookie, it needs to be a presentable looking cookie. I go to this Panera all the time and I feel that while the staff is friendly they dont work as fast and efficiently as they should. It always takes me a long time to get my bagel toasted. Today it took me over 15 min. for a bagel and a latte. the Latte is only filled up just over half way in the cup. I pay $4 for this and it's not even filled up all the way! This place is terrible. They messed up my order and gave me something else which i had to drive for 20 minutes back and forth to get it. After telling them they messed up they didn't even care much at all and apologized at all instead they kept on asking stupid questions when we already told them. They do not value customers at all. We had to wait 15 min more for them to give us our correct order. I got creamy tomato soup btw and while i was eating at the end i found CHICKEN there, like WTHHHH that was soo nasty and grossss. I will never go here or recommend others going either. They need to learn how to apologize when it's their mistake and make food worse properly. Yelp 100 Challenge 2017 2/100 I am being generous by giving this place three stars. It is the closest Panera for me. I have been here several times, usually for breakfast. This was my first time ordering online before hand, and I was surprised to find out there is a limit of two same flavor soufflés per order. I tried to order over the phone and was told the same thing. I don't really understand why they limit pre-orders, as they could just make those in addition to their customary amounts in the morning. I ordered for 8:30 AM, but when I arrived at 8:40, my order was not waiting on the shelf. I had to ask about my order and was told that it was still in the oven. I had to wait over 10 minutes more for my order. What is the point of ordering ahead of time if they can't get the order ready at that time? I was late because of this. The reason I'm still giving three stars is because the food is actually pretty good. I agree with the other reviews that said they do mix up orders a lot. The staff are really nice, I just don't understand why there are so many issues with order delays and mixups. read more

I love Panera. I love the fresh and healthy food, I love the free wi-fi, I even love this particular location. Why 4 stars and not 5, then? Last night, I decided to drop by because I was craving a hot drink. I ordered a chai tea latte to go; simple, right? Well, after about 3 minutes of waiting, the girl making my drink asked the cashier whether I'd wanted it iced or hot. When she realized that I wanted it hot, she said something along the lines of "Oh crap, I already put ice in it!". [PAUSE] At this point, you could easily just make a new drink, right? [UNPAUSE] The cashier heard and called out loudly, "Just take the ice out and make it hot!" ...WHAT? I won't even go into how absurd that suggestion was, but please, at least be smart enough not to let the customer hear! Anyway, I wait another couple of minutes, and I think, "Okay, if they're taking so long, they must have made a new drink." I finally get my latte along with an apology from the girl, saying that it was her first time making one. Hey, it's all good; I understand, and I don't mind waiting. What I DID mind was when I finally got in my car and took a sip, I realized that the "hot" chai tea latte was room-temp at best - they didn't even bother microwaving it to "make it hot", as the cashier had suggested! COME ON, GUYS. Ugh, I love you, Panera, but (a) simply taking out the ice in an iced tea/coffee will not make that drink hot again, and (b) please don't treat your customers like idiots. Ordered half a steak and white cheddar panini but when my order came it was a chicken sandwich with apple, which was what my brother ordered too. So they ended up giving us 2 of those and my panini was nowhere to be found. I didn't tell them cause the chicken sandwich was good anyways lol. However when I looked at my receipt again to see if she charged me for the panini, it says that she put in a chicken sandwich with kale. So I don't understand how a panini turned into a kale sandwich when I didn't even mention any kale at all. I was so confused. Minus 2 because of this. My 3 stars is for the food. After a grueling workout date with my new P.I.C. we decided to head over to Panera Bread for dinner and some healthy venting and gossip. Never going to a Panera Bread location I didn't know what to expect, other than bread...which is kind of a given. Oh and that they had 'sandwiches & stuff". Walking in I was greeted with a bounty of the my life's greatest passion and my body's worst enemy... carbs. Bagels, muffins, cookies, baguettes, pastries... The sight took my breath away, no joke. Wanting to be "healthy" I chose the half salad half soup with a side option. I chose the chicken caesar salad with the low fat chicken tortilla soup with a side of a baguette. I guess for dinner with your order you can add a pastry for 99 cents. Being good we decided to choose only one pastry (when we could have gotten two)... but of course we chose the ginormous pecan roll instead of a pussy ass cookie. The salad was a typical caesar salad, I rarely come across crappy caesar salads except for that one time at Irvine Spectrum's food court.... The chicken came in slices, not a lot, but just enough for the salad. The low fat chicken tortilla soup was pretty darn tasty! AND its low fat and low calorie?! Get out of here! My baguette was really tasty too, not too chewy and hard of a crust with a soft center. Our pecan roll, well, that was demolished, for something so decadent and sticky it wasn't overly sweet nor did it make me feel extremely guilty for eating. Prices are pretty moderate in my opinion, and I would much rather eat here than McDonalds for a quick bite after a workout as they have more REAL healthier options. Although, McDonalds' has that delicious Sweet Tea.... The service was very polite and patient as I seemed to be having a brain fart while trying to order. They did mess up on P.I.C.'s soup order, but easily fixed the problem without hesitation. We didn't realize what time it was or that they had closed 30 minutes ago, but they smiled and laughed as we apologized for being one of "those" people. I've recently visited this location on several occasions, and have found the early morning hours to be perfect for doing a little business before the morning crowd begins to filter in. Typically, between 6 and 7 a.m., you might only encounter a handful of customers in the dining area, and the peaceful environment is perfect for studying, editing work documents, updating your resume, or just simply removing relatives from your Will. But keep in mind, they don't offer an abundance of electrical outlets, so if your laptop battery is running low, you need to stake out your spot early and be prepared to guard it with all of the combat skills of a Ninja Warrior. Unfortunately, I had to relinquish my "Ninja Card" a few years back due to poor inner thigh flexibility and a deadly fear of heights. But don't think for a moment that I don't come prepared. Oh hell no... Anyone tries to remove my electrical gadgets while I run off to the restroom, and I'll KILL YOU! Sorry about that, I was having a flashback from 5th grade Catholic School. Trust me, those Nun's are hell. But that's a whole other review that I'm working on with my therapist. So, back to Panera... As far as the food goes, I'm not really a big pastry or sweets eater, but I have been indulging lately in their "Steel Cut Oatmeal" breakfast. It's the greatest thing in the world. The bowl is always loaded with plump healthy oats, fresh strawberries, a dash of cinnamon, and fresh Pecans, which are selected daily from Mexico's lush and fertile heartland. They don't actually advertise the Mexican Pecans fact in the menu, but if there's one thing that I'm familiar with, and have dedicated my life to preserving, it's a couple of Mexican Nuts. I'm sure that didn't come out right, but then again, maybe it did. Hey, if I offended anyone, I apologize. There's no need to get Teste! Bazinga! That's twice I got you. Thanks Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory). Okay, I guess I'll wrap things up. Truly, I was just getting started, but I understand people are busy and they just want the facts. So here it goes. The service is great here and the facility is always impeccable. Welcome smiles from all the staff members (Even in the morning) and there has never been a time when I haven't noticed someone wiping down tables, or offering to remove the finished plate and utensils from my area before I have exited the property. It's these little things that make all the difference in the world, as to whether or not you decide on coming back a second time, or simply moving on to another establishment while the Feds are hot on your tail. It's a good place to hang out and catch up with friends you haven't seen in a while. Parking could be a pain because there is a couple restaurants near it with the biggest draw being Lucille's right across . Patience is a must when you decide to dine in any of the places in this area. Asian Sesame Chicken Salad - the serving is pretty huge! And the flavor does not disappoint. For several years, a colleague and friend of mine who is a manager of a Panera up in San Dimas has been telling me to try out the menu at any of the numerous locations. For some reason, I've neither been moved enough to pull into a Panera nor had the idea to suggest a Panera for lunch. Well, on a beautiful Monday morning, fate would have it that my 10:30am client would be a last minute cancellation thus causing me to arrive for my 12pm appointment at Panera an hour and a half early. With my book and ipod, I stroll into this location and order a cup of coffee. The day was flawless and the view of South St. and the 605 was perfect (I'm not joking) so, I set myself up on the side patio and enjoyed the breeze and the cars. Had I ended my Panera experience here, the 5 stars would remain, but there's more. At 12pm, my friend arrives and he introduces me to the wonders of Panera. Frontega Chicken sandwich was pressed between a gorgeous piece of Focaccia. I love Focaccia and it's so often toasted wrong, but Panera impressed me with its toasting skills. Chicken was moist and flavourful. Cheese, greens, and tomato were balanced. You have the option of ordering a half or full sandwich. I ordered the full but when it arrived, I thought they got my order wrong and gave me a half. This goes to say that I'm either a fat ass or the portions are unassuming. Either way, it tasted great. He ordered the half Italian Combo and bowl of Asian Sesame Chicken salad. He said it was great and that these were among his favourites. Service was fast and friendly. Dining are was very clean. Patio seating was comfortable with attractive furniture and a raised glass wall that allows for a great view of the street, mall, and tall trees. Prices are fair. Cafe and Bakery menus are diverse. I normally like Panera but this place was a huge letdown. I ordered a bread bowl and (like other customers mentioned) got half of what I usually get. I mentioned this to the staff and manager, all of whom got really defensive. You would think that they personally paid for the ingredients or some mess. After insisting on my portion, they begrudgingly gave me another sip of soup and I left to finish my meal. Both the manager and staff spent the rest of the time speaking very loudly about me, which is really petty and weird considering all I asked for was some damn soup. Overall, a very poor experience. I still like Paneras but would recommend avoiding this one, both because of the careless preparation of food and portion, as well as the terrible attitudes of the staff. I went here for lunch in the hopes of a yummy bread bowl to warm me up on a cold day. I had the potato soup and an apple as a side. They give you a choice of either an apple, bread, or chips when you order a breadbowl but I was in the mood for something light as I knew my soup would be a bit heavy. While the amount of soup was a bit lacking, it was fairly tasty. It had a bit of a bacon flavor in the soup which I did not prefer but overall I would get it again. At this location if you want the top part they cut out of the bread bowl, you have to ask for it. The cashier was very sweet and the staff was satisfactory. Panera Bread in Cerritos is located in a fairly large strip mall along with a Lucille's and Toy's R Us. Panera is a "fast-casual" restaurant chain that offers fresh baked breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads, soups and various breakfast items. Panera is very similar in look and concept to "The Corner Bakery Café". You order at the counter and then they bring your order to your table when it's ready. Their food is expensive, but everything is freshly made and made well. My favorite item on the menu is their Fuji Apple Chicken Salad. It's a nice salad of sliced seasoned chicken, mixed field greens, romaine lettuce, vine-ripened tomatoes, red onions, pecans, Gorgonzola cheese and apple chips with a white balsamic apple vinaigrette. With your salad you get either a pack of potato chips, a piece of French bread or an apple. Their French bread is really good, so nice and chewy. When you order a drink along with your entrée you get the option of getting a dessert from the pastry counter for $1.00. My favorite pastry items are the carrot cake muffins, cinnamon crunch scones and strawberries & cream scone. I appreciate that all the calories for their food is printed on their menu boards. My favorite coffee there is the Hazelnut coffee. It's nice that they label each pot with the time that it was made so that you can tell how long it's been out. Panera also has a very good "frequent customer" program. You associate your telephone number with their program, and then when you make a purchase at Panera, you give your phone number and you have a chance of getting a free menu item. It varies between getting a free drink, salad, soup, sandwich or pastry. I like the Panera program much better than Corner Bakery, and their coffee punch card, where you get a free coffee for every 6 punches on the card. I often frequent Panera stores when I'm on the road. I like their light lunch and dinner offerings. My one complaint is that some stores seem to skimp on the size of their salads. The lettuce in their full sized salads is usually 1/2 to 2/3 of the height of their salad bowl rather than a full bowl of salad. Their Torrance store on PCH is very generous with the lettuce in their salads, while the Redondo Beach store on Hawthorne Blvd. cuts you short on their lettuce. To justify their high prices, I wish that Panera would be more generous with a low cost item like lettuce, as a corporate policy. read more

I've been to Panera Bread hundred's of times, to the one in the city of Whittier, to the Lakewood location and even this one but for some reason, their soups have become watered down. They were not like this before. I also noticed their chip bags have become smaller and their sandwiches. I'm not sure if it's just this location, or all Panera's but it's a let down. I'm not too big into healthy eating that's why I've not been drawn to Panera Bread's story of healthy food options for the calorie conscience but I decided to check it out none the less. This Panera Bread is located in the same plaza as Frostbites, Guppy Green Tea House among a bunch of restaurants on south Street so parking at lunch time is always tight but most times I've managed to get parking on the back side but a couple of times have had to park near Toys R Us and walk. The few times that I've gone I've found this restaurant to be full so it does have a committed clientele. The menu is pretty complex for the first timer but you should be able to figure it out. It basically consists of salads, sandwiches, flatbreads, bowls and bakery items. I was helped by a less than enthusiastic cashier who thought it was a pain to do her job, but she did not give me too much attitude. After this ordering experience I understood why they have set up self service ordering stations and gave them a try on subsequent visits but found them too be too cumbersome to use, so I feel that this aspect of their business needs major improvement. Anyway on my first visit I decided to get a sandwich as that seems to be their primary offering and got an Asiago Roast Beef sandwich ($7.99) and got potato chips as the sides (you can get an apple or French baguette in-place of the chips if you want). Next I was given a beeper (to placed on the table) that was used by the server to find my table once my order was ready. Sandwich was out in almost record time with the beeper pointing the food runner to the correct table effortlessly. A place that has "bread" in its name should be ashamed of the sandwich that they served me. The roll was a soft chewy mess. It seems that the bread was baked hours ago probably early morning and then was not placed in a heated display or stand which caused it to air out and become soft and chewy. Would this not be evident to the person making the sandwich? Or it could be that the sandwiches are prepared and then left out to deflate. Either way it was just bad. The sauce and dressing on the sandwich were not evenly spread out so parts of the sandwich were bone dry and other parts were dripping juices. Lastly the roast beef on the sandwich was again a petite portion to put it mildly. Any two bit mom and pop sandwich place would do a better and cheaper sandwich. The only silver lining is that I've been subjected to worse but this was right down there giving other crap sandwiches company. So after my first visit I was not at all keen on visiting again but they were running an email campaign about some broth bowls that they had launched which looked tempting so I decided to try those out. So it was back to dealing with the un-interested cashier who rushed me through the ordering process for a simple soba noodle chicken bowl ($8.99) with a side of french baguette. Again the beef bowl was out in no time. Taste wise it was pretty good. The soba noodles were cooked perfectly, so had a good bite complete with the slightly sweetish finish. The broth was also flavorful and chicken juicy and tender. The only thing that I can complain about is the portion size. It was a small portion which did not fill me up. They have an option of adding a half sandwich or soup to the broth bowl for $2.99 that I would have got if I was not rushed through the ordering process. The second visit was much better than the first but I was not yet sold. During both my visits I saw that they have a lot of good looking bakery items on display so I decided to go back and try those out. I went around 9:30 a.m. and for the first time saw an empty restaurant. I got a Cinnamon Roll ($2.79) that looked delicious along with a medium hazelnut coffee ($2.09). These were simply terrific. The coffee could easily give Starbucks or any other specialized coffee shops a run for their money. I'm no connoisseur but I know good coffee when I taste it. The cinnamon roll was baked perfectly and even in the center did not feel chewy. It was definitely in the not-too-sweet category but I still loved it. Overall I'm still on the fence on Panera. On one hand I've had a terrible sandwich and on the other a great cinnamon roll. I'll probably have to come and try it out a little more before I'm completely sold on Panera Bread. Till such time it gets an A-OK rating from me. read more

Finally stopped in here for lunch yesterday and it was a much better experience than I expected. My order was taken after waiting in line for a couple minutes. They had three people taking orders so the line moved fast. Got their half salad - half sandwich special. They have two tiers of sandwiches & salads and you have to choose one of the lesser "second tier" sandwiches/salads to get the special price. Chose the sierra turkey sandwich which was smoked turkey breast with chipotle mayonnaise, field greens & red onions on asiago cheese focaccia bread. Also chose the Asian chicken salad. A server had lunch on the table in front of us within 3 minutes - very quick. Everything tasted fresh and the portions were good (although the co-worker I went with said they have made the salads a lot smaller since they first opened at this location). I especially liked the chipotle mayo on the sandwich. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Free wi-fi made this a spot for lots of laptop users who couldn't find a table at Starbucks to hang out. Actually the dining area, while clean and comfortable, had that sort of Starbucks-corporate feel to it. On the way out I checked out the pastries and they looked scrumptious. Besides having a great mall across the street, this Panera Bread is awesome because it's really clean, new-looking, and has probably the biggest variety of pastries I've ever seen at any location. They have plenty of toffee nut cookies, which are my favorite! They also have more booths than other locations I've been to. The only downside is the fact that WiFi times out after 30 minutes if you use it during peak hours...so hopefully you're not working on anything important during that time! Nonetheless, I can overlook that for the great food, casual environment, and affordable prices :) I LOVE Panera! read more

I would say food is good a bit on the pricey side, but I like some of there items so I pay. i was disappointed to hear they no longer offer all of the pastries for 99 cents with a meal only the cookies. The cashier made sure to point that out, which is ok, he needs to let us know. We bought 3 meals with 2 beverages and 2 cookies. I asked the cashier for a cup of water, he held up the cup and said make sure its only for water!!! I said of course but it bothered me, and honestly I did'nt enjoy my meal after that comment. Cerritos Panera has been my second home for this past winter. I've really tried to find a laid-back place to study and have some quiet personal office time. Starbucks is good but gets too noisy. And their chairs are impossible to sit in for hours at a time - when you're in the "zone" studying, you don't want to have to leave your seat and walk around every 10 minutes. Tea Station is OK but their WiFi speed is comparable to the days of dial-in AOL Internet. If you've been to Panera, you know that it's the same deal at every branch. But the food is pretty decent, if not surprisingly good. Corner Bakery would be my first choice though, but Panera is more hip and college/high-school friendly. That said Panera Cerritos stands out to me because there are some damn fine Asian women that come here to study... as well as a fair share of Asian MILFs. So if that's your thing, then here's where you can let lose and not feel (as) guilty. Oh, and avoid the place during 3pm-5pm. That's when the high school kids run the whole place. read more

There are quite a few booths, and I've never had a problem finding a quiet little niche to crack open the books to study for a test. The food is decent. I had zero expectations for Panera Bread, possibly even negative expectations because everyone told me that Panera Bread is no where near the calibur of Corner Bakery, which I love, love love! After contemplating for a good 10 minutes, I referred to my best friend, Yelp, for advice on what to order. I chose the Turkey Bacon Bravo Sandwich, which I did not regret! You can order the sandwich with a baguette, chips or apple, and being the unhealthy college student that I am, I naturally asked for the chips. My friend and I waited for about 15 minutes before our food came, and we LOVED the tomato basil bread! It completely enhanced the sandwich with a hint of tomato-y and spice-y flavor. The only thing I did not like about the sandwich was that the turkey tasted like the cold cut you buy at the grocery store. I like it when the food that I order does not taste like something I can easily remake, which is a perfect reason to conveniently buy at a restaurant. Omg so my mom and I rushed over to Panera bread at 9:40 I knew in my heart we were going to be rushed because they were so close to closing. I was pleasantly surprised the whole staff was so friendly. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with welcome to owners bread. The girl Geraldly I know I spelled that wrong. She said take your time and I'll be here when your ready. While checking us out she asked in I wanted to try a sample of the soup. Just all around great service. One of the workers even gave my daughter a cookie. Man when your having a long tiring day is was refreshing to be treated so nice by everyone. I wish I stayed closer I'd go to this location everyday. The catering service is great here. The lady who brought us our food was polite, quick, and discreet, we didn't even know she was around until she left. The food was delivered fresh and organized. We had an assorted variety of sandwiches--I had the roast beef, the turkey, and the ham/cheese (OH COME ON, THEY WEREN'T THAT BIG OF PIECES, OKAY?). Anyways, everything was great... you can tasted the hand-crafted love that was spent on each bite. The catering also came w/ COOKIES... the apple cinnamon is to die for. I'm sure this thing has 1000 calories per piece but it's soooo moist, buttery, and sweet that each bite sent my taste buds to heaven. We were also catered salad but I didn't bother for it so I can't tell you how it was. Panera sure has a knack for fresh bread, they brought us some baguettes--soft and chewy, fresh to the bone, yum. Maybe not the best sandwich I've ever had because I typically prefer something along the lines of a Jersey Mike's... but man, it's damn solid. Do you even realize how important it is to have a Panera Bread in Cerritos?! No really! I've been going to Panera Bread @ Lakewood Mall for many years and when I found out they were going to build one in my city via Facebook, I was ecstatic! Panera Bread has pretty good pastries and their salads are awesome. Too bad they don't carry Tomato Bisque soup..or is that seasonal? This location has lots of space and plenty of outdoor seating for all your smokers. Best part is..free WIFI!! It's a great place to study and do homework =) read more

I hate to give only two stars, but the service I recieved during my last catering order, really lacked professionalism. Panera food is great, and comes highly requested, which is why we order from them for our meetings. I placed my order online, and even called a day ahead of our meeting to ensure that everything was status quo. The young lady that answered the phone assured me that everything would be there & on time. Fast-forward to meeting day & working lunch hour: the food has arrived on time, but not all items in my placed order made it to our conference room!! I asked where the cups & utensils were, and the delivery girl said " You didn't order drinks, did you?" to which I replied " No, but I did request flatware & drinkware with our order; it should be listed on the order." she takes a look at the order and sees exactly what i'm talking about..."Oh, you did request cups...Sorry..." Never was there an offer to bring those requested items back... It's shit like that, that will cause your business to lose high marks & recommendations... Today, I called the location to get a total bill in order to include the charge on my expense report...THEY CANNOT FIND THE ORDER!!! WTF?!?! I just keep getting calls back saying "we just need a little more information to find the order..." How much more info do you need, when I have given you the order number, my name, the date the order was place, and the method of payment!!?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm done with this Panera... read more

Very inefficient and poorly managed location. I ordered online for curbside pickup. I arrived at 6:22pm for my 6:30pm pickup and checked in with my car station number and even turned on my flashing lights as instructed. I waited for another 15 minutes until 6:45pm and still no one came out to deliver my order while I see at least 7 other cars who arrived later than I did get their orders delivered. I had perishable groceries in my car and had to get back home in time as I had guests coming. I finally decided to go inside to find out what was going on. Sure enough, my order was just sitting on the counter. I was late for my appointment that day because of how incompetent this Panera Bread location is! I wasted almost half an hour for a curbside order pickup. It turns out that this was not the first time this happened here. When I got home to tell my family what happened (and why I was late), I found out that my son had the exact same experience when he picked up an online order for curbside pickup - he did everything right too - checked in and noted his spot and even turned his blinkers on but waited in the car for over 20 minutes! I wouldn't even waste my time giving a bad review here on Yelp, but this happened twice!!! Two for two experience! (When I order food online for curbside pickup at other restaurants like The Habit or Panini Kabob Grill for example, they do a great job of efficiently delivering the order to the car with minimum wait time.) PB is overpriced too considering the quantity and quality of food. Not a good value at all. Among other things, the soup was only 2/3rd's full and the container was not even big enough to begin with. The sandwiches and salad servings are quite small too. (You're better off going to Corner Bakery - you'll get more value for your money.) We were just completely turned off with Panera Bread .... I will be removing the Panera Bread app from my iPhone. read more

Parking is a pain, plus its a one way that gets clogged up quick. Great customer service, AWESOME french bread, and their green tea is amazing! Pretty much all the sandwiches I've had there are yummy and pretty healthy tasting. If you want a little grease, get their kettle cooked chips. Not bad! I recommend signing up for their MyPanera card as you'll get a bunch of freebies within the first few months of visiting. Also, you get free stuff for your bday automatically! read more

Panera is the same every branch, it is the staff and their service that makes them stand out. today actually one of the staff gave exemplary service. I have had 23 yrs in customer service and i noticed how he handled all tables with customers. Multitasking asking if all were okay, and listening to his diners. The key to service is anticipation of your customers needs-- and he excelled in it-- he saw me approaching a table that had leftover plates from a previous diner while he was still serving other clients. He said to give him a second and he will be back to clean the table. Quite great service to JACOB, i noticed his name and this was 9th of dec 2015.
