I have never been to a Panera I didn't love but this place was horrible. It took about 45 minutes to receive our food, and when we did my sons grilled cheese was as hard as a rock. We knew they were behind in the kitchen but they didn't even apologize while delivering our food or acknowledge their horrible service. In addition the place was filthy. Dirty tables sat dirty for about 30 min and floors were gross. The bathrooms trash was over flowing. The floor in the stall was wet and there was no soap. Walking pass the kitchen I could see inside. Tasty food for the most part. A bit overpriced, but good for a stocked salad. The ambiance is nice in the dining room. There is usually a knitting group and kids studying at adjoining tables. The noise level is always at a pleasant minimum. I would suggest to the manager that the staff spend a little more time cleaning tables and a little less time texting on their phones in the dining area and around the outside tables. I docked this review two stars for the one time I came home with a large chicken Caesar salad and after a few bites I knew something wasn't right so I threw it out - and hit really hit my gut for two whole days. Just left Panera in Cedar Hill for a quick lunch. That place inside is so unappetizing. The floors were disgusting and the restaurant had an odor, the flatware wasn't clean and it appeared to have never been cleaned. Just thinking about how many people ate off the utensils & they were dirty, was enough to make you vomit. My husband and I used the plastic ware instead. They no longer bring your food to the table, you have to clear your table, and on top of that, you're asked to leave a tip (laughable). For the amount of money you pay for the food, at the very least the restaurant and flatware should be clean. No thank you, never again!!! read more

This Panera bread is sloppy now. The bread is hard, brick hard. Bagels, soft dinner rolls, any bread item, is going to be hard. Their bread items are often not fresh and they leave them to turn hard and stale. They run out of items constantly, CONSTANTLY. Don't order rapid order pick up because your pick up time means nothing to them. I gave them chances this is the third strike. I ordered ahead, an hour ahead. It shouldn't take 10 minutes over my RAPID ORDER PICK UP TIME, to scoop some soup in a container. Every time I come here on Saturdays they are out of soufflés It seems that they are sold out by 9 am though the website states that breakfast doesn't end until 11. I placed a Rapid order online last Saturday for a coffee and soufflé. Once I arrived to pick up the order they were sold-out. They did not update the account online to reflect that they were sold out. The manager advised that she would cancel my order. My experience during the last 2 visits to this location included a 30 minute wait for a breakfast sandwich, and for lunch out of avocado so I ordered a different sandwich and a vegan Lentil Quinoa Bowl. They delivered the sandwich and told me they're out of Lentils. I asked for the Edamame Soba Noodle Bowl instead. After waiting quite a while I went up and checked on it and they forgot to make it so I asked for it to go. I got home and it was the chicken soba bowl not the edamame I had asked for. Went to the Panera Bread in Cedar Hills TX today at 6:00pm and requested two chocolate bagels to go, well when arrived home and took the bagels out they were hard as bricks. So I call the store and requested the manager. Once she listen to my complaint about the bagels being rock hard she asked "well did you have them toasted" I replied no she then said "well what do you want me to do"? I told her I would return in the morning for two fresh bagels. I love their broccoli cheddar soup. I frequent this location for it at least once a week. The Mac n cheese is pretty tasty as well. I am, however, sad that they are getting rid of the baguettes and replacing them with rolls :-(. The Cedar Hill location is a pretty good place to have a meal with friends. There are plenty of tables and they are spaced out in sections so it doesn't get too noisy. Certain times of the day it gets kind of packed but they have eased the tension of having to wait in line by adding kiosks and the option of ordering at the table with your smart phone. read more

I didn't eat...I entered the restaurant at 9:15 pm with the prospect of eating, but mostly to purchase a gift card for a friend's wedding. The place was a mess and mostly deserted. A male employee walked up to me and said, We're closed. No courtesy at all. No hours posted on the door. When I inquired about buying a gift card, the male employee turned and walked away without saying anything else. A woman employee said she would handle the purchase for me. I mentioned that it said on the internet that the store hours were 10 pm. She said that was for select locations only. I told her that information was for this location, Cedar Hill, Tx.. She questioned: we have a webpage? Now, she did mentioned she was only there 3 weeks...so I can understand that she might not know about company advertisements. I told her I thought the information came from Yelp.. She said, oh that's information that people post!. The information actually came from a Google search...whether Panera put it up or not...who knows...I would think it would be the responsibility of each location to make sure internet advertisements and announcements for their businesses were correctly posted.. I do hope the restaurant employees are more cordial, courtesy and knowledgeable in the restaurant where my friend's will be using their gift card. Had my friends not said Panera was one of their favorite restaurants, I would have purcahsed a different wedding gift. WHAT THE HECK HAS HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE ?? It used to be nice , clean ,good customer service . I was there last night around 8pm to pick up food I ordered on-line and decided to get two cookies . I stood in line behind a couple who I assumed was WAITING for their order , only to find out after 5 minutes of waiting , they were waiting to actually PLACE their order . No one was at the register , yet employees were walking back and forth , playing around , laughing. What the heck ? Did no one notice customers just standing around ?? NO!!! Well , I stood there long enough to get a good look behind the counter . So messy , unorganized, filthy !! Counters look so disheveled!! Stuff just thrown around , crushed up box just laying on the floor !! This place looked like a mad house .... only it wasn't busy !!! I don't know if corporate Panera knows what's going on here , but I'm sure if upper level managers were to visit this store, people , especially the manager , would lose their jobs !!! read more

I've not had a bad experience here. I always come with my mom whenever I am in town. I'm a vegetarian and get the soup/salad combo. It's always good and I love their baguettes! Great place for pastries and fresh bread. Good meeting spot, good for singles, couples, or groups. Great for breakfast, lunch, or casual dinner. Really disappointed by this morning's visit to this Panera. The customer service and cleanliness of the store were both severely lacking. I walked in and an employee (who may have been the manager) was talking loudly with another person and watched me stand at the counter for at least a minute without offering to help. I had to go to the next window where workers were obviously preparing food for a lunch catering order to ask someone to help me with a bagel. I requested a cinnamon bagel and they said they 'didn't have enough to bake.' (it was only 8:00 a.m.) When the employee gestured to my other choices, I wasn't sure what to choose because they had no labels on the bins. The young man who handed me my toasted bagel told me they were out of knives so he put a spoon in my bag. In addition, I noticed the counter in front of the registers was dirty and the floor behind the counter was even worse. Walking out, the doors had big hand print smudges from top to bottom and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in days. I think they could do much better. read more
