The food is always great. We go there maybe once a month. The online ordering thing has a weird glitch that is awkward compared to any other company we have ordered from. When I called to tell them that they left the cookies out of the order, they put the manager on the phone and she suggested we come back to the store to pick up two cookies. It was raining and I really didn't want to get out again so I just wanted a credit on my card. The manager said they had no way to do that but they would put my name on a list and we could just ask for two cookies the next time we came in. They have no way of putting a credit on a card, or do they just not know how to do so? read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Today I placed an on line order for curbside pickup. I arrived 10 minutes early. I received a text that my order was ready and someone would be out shortly with my food. I then received another text that my order did not go through. The manager (Kendrick) comes to my car and apologizes. He then says he could put through my order and asks for my credit card and says he cannot give it to me for free. I NEVER ASKED FOR ANYTHING FREE! He says he has my order details and says it should be about 5-7 minutes. He comes out again and one of my items is unavailable. I said forget the whole thing and got my card back. McAlisters is a great go to when you are out and about. This one on particular is right in the heart of Cedar Hills shopping area and is spacious with plenty of seating. I love that there are so many options to chose from on the menu from pastas to soups to nachos. Plus -how can you beat $1.99 kids meal (that they've recently revamped with more options). I recently had the broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl. It hit the spot with this cold weather we've recently had. Another gem on the menu is the nachos...now it's not your usually Tex mex nachos - it's more like runny cheese, chili, black beans and pico. Definitely worth trying!! It seems to me like the haven't mopped in ages, there's dirty sport on the floor and the counters are sticky and smelly. Ooof. I was kinda surprised. We were hungry after a hike so we ordered food here online and were actually a couple minutes late picking up. I go to the online order pick up register to get our food and the girl there is talking to some guy from smoothie king who hadn't ordered anything. Totally fine! I didn't mind waiting a couple minutes... But then they were done talking and she dipped out before talking to me. I figured I maybe misunderstood something and then waited quite a while thinking she would come back but she didn't. Then some guy asked if I had an online order. I advised yes and he told me he couldn't find my order on the screen and then also dipped out to go clean stuff in the dining area before I could respond. Finally a woman who looked like she might be the manager showed up. I let her know I was waiting for an online order which was apparently right behind the registers on the bar the whole time but she let me know that they were out of the Mac and cheese and asked if I was ok to wait another 15 minutes for it. We were really hungry so we did not want to wait longer and she said to pick another side. We picked a cup of soup and she asked if it was ok if it cost extra... Usually I wouldn't mind but at that point, it was not ok. I had waited quite a while and been ignored by 2 people... So I said no it was not ok and she acted like I was being ridiculous. It's like $1-ish extra for the soup and they were out of the sides we had requested. It's pretty normal for companies to comp the difference at that point. Once we finally got our food, I asked where I could find the cream and sugar for coffee (a very normal thing when ordering coffee) and they acted like I was inconveniencing them. When I finally got to eat my sandwich, it tasted like the inside of a nail salon. The pickles looked squished and questionable. I love this place. I come here about once a week, especially in the summer. The sandwiches are delicious and I love their sides. Tea is amazing and the people are usually pretty friendly. This is my place to visit for sandwiches and I always wish they had one closer to my parents house when I visit them in California so I can share this restaurant with them. read more

I've been a huge fan of McAlister's especially when they had the muffuletta, which they disappointedly discontinued. This is one if their newer restaurants in the area. My first thoughts were Of New York as they have pushed the brink of capacity with all the tables and chairs they tried to fit in what seems a smaller footprint. The customer service was superb, however the quality of food is not what it once was. I dined on the chicken spud with a side of queso and sweet tea with a lemon. The tea is phenomenal as always. But the chicken on the spud has changed. It's no longer grilled chicken strips. The consistency was more like sliced deli meat. The queso was good and was a life saver for my baked potato. All in all I would say my visit is a solid 3 stars. read more

This location is consistently very dirty and very behind on bussing/cleaning tables. Today I had to wait in line for about 20 minutes to order. Once I got to the front to order, the worker was visibly annoyed and unhelpful. After ordering, I went to look for a place for the 5 of us to sit. There were some open tables, but they were all filthy. I'm not against taking out my baby wipes and cleaning off a tabletop, but these tables were still full of dishes, cups, and food. I wouldn't have had anywhere to put those things if I were to take cleaning into my own hands. So, we had to take the only option, which was a 4 top and just add another chair on the end. This made a very narrow walk way. After sitting and waiting for our food for 30 minutes, a worker finally comes to bus the dirty tables. She noticed the chair on the end of our table and moved it (my son, who had been sitting in it, was in the bathroom) without saying anything to us. I told her we were using that, and she said she'd put it back after she walked back through bc she needed the room. Well, when she came back through, she told me it's a fire hazar, and it can't be there. She didn't offer to assist with relocating us to a different table or any solution, for that matter. I asked her where we were supposed to go since there were 5 of us. She said, "groups of 5 usually just push tables together." As if I can't figure that out myself. My point was there were no clean or unoccupied tables to push together. Luckily, a family overheard and offered to scrunch together along the long booth and allow us to sit with them. It was a pretty uncomfortable and unpleasant situation. It still was another 10 minutes before she even got the other tables cleaned off. O arrive a check in jist before 11. 10 minutes latwr still waiting on curbside. O go in and the lady tells me their system is down. I had to request a remake. Nothing offered for my inconvenience. Just a sorry apology. The last 3 times I visited same thing. What is even the purpose of offering a service you don't intend to provide. I gave a tip on my order and for what? I was debating if I wanted a spud to go with my Taco Salad.. but I declined. My GF got the Caesar Salad and Tortilla Soup. Food didn't take long to come out either. We had a young nice gentleman named KENDRICK who brought out our food. He kept apologizing for not bringing out the food the same time as my GF. Chocolate chip cookies are to die for!!!!!! If you are ordering during lunch you might want to order online as they get quite busy during that time.
