I genuinely love Jason's Deli it's one of my favorite places to eat, which is why I was hesitant to leave a negative review. However, I visited on Sunday and was disappointed by what I saw. There seemed to be very little teamwork among the staff. The young lady who was running food was also trying to refill the salad bar for customers, yet employees kept yelling, "Runner! Runner! Runner!" instead of stepping in to help her. Several team members appeared to have nothing to do, but no one offered assistance. Because she was being pulled in so many directions, the food sat longer than it should have and ended up getting cold. It was frustrating to watch because the situation could have easily been avoided if everyone had worked together. I hope management encourages more teamwork. When one employee is overwhelmed and others are available, helping each other out would create a much better experience for both the staff and the customers. read more

The food was not ready when I arrived which is an issue. The food was hot however since it was fresh. The cashier was friendly enough however when I asked about getting some cornbread muffins to go with my bowl of gumbo... I was charged $3.00 for muffins. I also asked for the soft serve ice cream to go since I was picking up my order and was charged for that as well, $1.83. I don't like being charged for everything I need to have a complete eating experience. My two Coca-Colas were missing from my order so I had to bring up they were missing as I looked in the frontal cooler and didn't see them and was told by the cashier they have the Coke cans in the back cooler away from the guest packaged drink area. Instead of getting my drink immediately as asked the cashier went in my bag and pulled my receipt to get proof of my order- how rude! This Cedar Hill location is operating differently from other locations I have been to. I didn't take a photo, however the food service line area needed a serious wipe down and the floors in the service area a serious mop up. We ordered from a different location for delivery and it was pretty good so decided to try this one out in person. The location itself is honestly disgusting. Half the tables were dirty and not cleared. The salad bar was filthy, everything was generally not cleaned or picked up. The food also took quite a while to come out. That being said the food itself was good. I had the club and it was a decent size and tasty. Also had the chicken soup which was good, but on the ticker side, honestly almost tastes like canned soup, but I liked it. Overall it's ok. read more

We've been going back for a couple of years. Not impressed with personnel at the registers, but, once you get past them and your order is correct, things are better and smoother. Food is better than average. Sandwiches have plenty of content. For a while, tables were filthy even after being "cleaned". We carry alcohol wipes and that helps. read more

Update! Spoke to John, manager, and he offered to make it right! Amazing customer service!!! Thank you so much!! Absolutely unacceptable price for the portion you get with in my case the "chicken" tortilla soup. Chicken is in quotations due to I had no chicken in mine. They charge about $8 for a bowl that is about 3oz maybe 3 1/2. I asked for blue chips to be on the side and I got a tiny plastic container with about 4 chips. Now, I have previously ordered this before at this Cedar Hill location but portion although still too small for the price at least container was full to the top and I received a larger plastic container with about 8 chips. I don't understand why it was different this time. I think I received the cup size instead of the bowl size for all 3 soups. I feel I should receive a refund of at least half what I paid which was about $24. I shouldn't have wasted my money but I'm sick and can't do much physically anymore so I thought I could at least not fix one meal that wasn't Ramen or cereal. Date was 3/8/26 @ about 930p. read more

I had not been to this one in 5 months, and today, I just realized why I stopped coming. First, I put in an app order, drove up at my designated time, received my Welcome text and sat there for 10 minutes with zero acknowledgement. That's the third time that's happened. That's a problem and we can't keep using COVID as an excuse. Do better! Don't implement bells and whistles and not use them adequately!! I went into the building and they were busy. I overlooked that a bit because it was lunch time. The manager did let me know that he would be right with me. No problem there. But, another employee came up to the register and saw me and another lady standing there and turned around and walked off. I don't care how busy that you get, acknowledge your customers (Customer Service 101)!!! Second, the lady who walked off came back to the register. We were both still standing there and a third person walked in. Instead of her asking if we had been helped, she goes straight to him and starts helping him. I interrupted and reminded her that myself and the other lady were there before he came in the door. She said something smart but it wasn't worth it to respond. She's already bad at her job. She won't be there long. Third, and THE problem, is that I just spent $34 on two sandwiches and a salad and the portion sizes leave ALOT to be desired. This was the second reason that I stopped coming months ago. Again, let's stop blaming Covid for bad service and food costs. I used to be able to take a large custom-made salad and eat four meals off if it when ordered through the app. This salad is full of greens and contains barely any ingredients that I requested-cheese, bacon bits, Avocado that I paid extra for but didn't get, grape tomatoes (not even on here), olives, beets, cucumbers, broccoli and eggs. It's a side salad at best in a large container. I did not get my pita chips, either. My 1/4 Turkey muffuletta looks awful and I've definitely had better from there. It's the sole reason that I patronize JD to begin with. I can get a salad anywhere. But, now the muffuletta is poorly made so that is the final straw. The manager's response when I repeated what I asked, was he had another employee HELP her. I've always loved going to Jason's Deli ever since I moved to Texas. However, this place has the worse customer service. My husband and I were excited for the corned beef sandwich and salad. First of all, what grossed us out was that they used a home depot bucket to fill up water for the food steamer...without removing the soups. And yes, some water did spilled and splashed onto the soups. The manager, at 9:42 pm, stood there and watched it. Also, we ordered a corn beef and they messed up our order with chicken. We were fine with places messing up our order here and there, but the fact that we told them that we touched the chicken sandwich to make sure they would not give it to anyone else, but instead of taking it to the kitchen, the cashier lady had the audacity to ask the other guy next to us if it was his order. Wouldn't recommending ordering Togo if you like your orders to consist of EVERYTHING you paid for. Which is pretty much everyone I know. DoorDashed from this location and couldn't check the bag since it was stapled closed. Given that we're still in a pandemic, I don't open orders and check them. It's the merchants job to ensure all items are in the bag. Upon arrival, the customer and I found that they'd forgot an item that she'd paid $15 for. I had to go back up to the restaurant, missed out on a $13 opportunity, and spent an extra 10 minutes arguing with some rude lady at the front who didn't want to take accountability for her teams negligence. Food was ok, salad bar was fresh, but no muffins and the few that were left were stale. Got an order of penne and meatballs 20 mins after ordering only bc I stood at the counter for at least 5 mins being completely ignored. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant. The bread was stale and not warm. I refused the broccoli cheese soup as it looked lumpy, perhaps it was not heated all the way through? She tried to mix what was left at the bottom of one pan (burned) with a brand new pan of soup (for a cup) and the result did not look appetizing. I was offered to select a different soup, and had it been any other day, I gladly would've accepted the offer, but declined as my family is observing Lent and there were no other meatless options (chicken noodle or chili). I went against my better judgment to stay and eat because my daughter loves Jason's deli, but about 75% of the tables had dirty dishes, and we had to bus and wipe down our own table. Ordered lunch to go (Nov 25) and I had a good experience. I ordered the "light" portion of the Chicken Club Salad w/Ranch Dressing add red onions with the cheese on the side + a bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup. Everything came as I ordered it except a few more grape tomatoes could've been added as they only gave me two.
