Overall a yummy place for lunch. I usually order to pick up and food is good, but half the time something I order is out of stock. I've also learned to double check the bag to make sure everything is there because it is common for something to be left out, or sometimes a replacement is placed in bag for something they are out of and they don't let you know. I love Panera Bread. It is one of the easy places to go to get healthy food. However, if you prefer something a little less healthy (and crazy delicious) they have options for you too. I have never tried something that I didn't like here. At this location the staff has always been very nice and helpful, even when they are busy (which they often are). I'm in Panera Bread at the Cedar Hill, TX location. I'm amazed how popular this place is. This location is filthy. There are areas you can see that never get cleaned. Cleanliness should be a priority, even if they need to hire someone full time just to keep the place clean. The busboy doesn't cut it. The food is fresh, but is never satisfying. I payed over $8 for a small bowl of pasta with a lump of chicken on top. I get way more food at a Chinese restaurant that's cheaper, more satisfying, with leftovers to boot. On top of that, Panera offers you a side of a whole apple -- not sliced, a stone cold piece of baguette -- not heated, or their version of bad potato chips. Not satisfying, nor customer friendly. I really don't know why this place is so popular, except for the fact that we live in a society of people who don't cook. read more

This has to be the worst Panera there is. I came on January 29th at 10:30. First I was told that it was only breakfast which I understand cashier said lunch would start when they switch the signs out at 11:30. Me and my fiancé went ahead and ordered breakfast since we didn't want to wait. Most of the things they had on their menu they where out off. Our daughter was hungry so we picked something quick. We ordered their soufflé, avocado egg white and spinach sandwich a tea and a strawberry banana smoothie. This location has to be losing money. If the owners want to know why, they just need to come observe order fulfillment. It is absolutely horrendous. All the staff seems to be in a trance and rudderless. The manager is no better as he aimlessly bounces around doing various jobs instead of coordinating and directing his staff. It's a train wreck. So much so that 2 toasted bagels took 40 minutes and that was with me finally sending the waitress into the kitchen to prepare them for me (as it's not hard to slice a bagel and toast it). 3* is really for my Frozen Mocha and broccoli cheese soup. My wait for it was 25 minutes and I received the soup first. I had to ask for my mocha. Maybe they pass over it because it was very busy. I've never been to this location and maybe haven't been to "Bread" since they upgraded it in a whole. Pagers and you can speed up your order by placing it yourself at these screens off to the side. Fancy. I would however say that the make out of the place is off balance. Why? The waiting (takeout)and drink fountain areas are in the same area that they pick up the orders to deliver to tables. A lot of excuse me- passing through people while they either waiting on their to go order or getting drinks. If I had a tip: for the consumer be patient and stand to the side because they have to deliver the food to the dine in customers. Tip for the business: why give pagers if your taken the order to the customer? Do they tell you where they're sitting? Seem like you had to guess where people were sitting. This normally my go-to location for Panera because I do love this place but today 11/25 around 2:50pm I had a mobile order that took more than 25 minutes to make (which the app tells me it should be 5 minutes), all I ordered was a small Mac and cheese and the bread that comes with it. I also got skipped twice meaning the people that ordered after me got their food first and to top it off I ended up with a very dry piece of bread! All the staff seems to be messing around I saw the same people come from the back just to get drinks. It was the worst experience I've had with Panera which makes me sad because I do love this place. Like other Panera locations, the food is fresh, is always good, and the prices are okay (although kinda pricey for what you get in my opinion), but it is always consistent with great customer service. Anyway... ---- The first time I went to Panera Bread was when I was visiting family in Minnesota. I had never heard of it before, but a cousin recommended the place and I was pleasantly surprised when I visited. When I heard that they were opening one in Cedar Hill, I was eager to try it once again, hoping it'd be similar to my experience in Minnesota. Panera Bread has the feel of a casual "hang out" cafe, with plenty of tables, chairs, booths, etc, to plop down on and relax. The staff is quick to bring you your order, and more importantly, you never feel rushed to eat or leave after you eat - browsing the Internet with their free Wi-Fi, reading, or working there after your meal seems perfectly natural. I would say the average meal at PB would run between $7-10. The sandwiches are pretty good, with a large assortment of meats, greens, and especially bread so you never have to get the same sandwich twice - I say that, but my favorite is the Frontega Chicken that I usually fall back on if I can't come to a decision. =] The soups are the real reason I come to PB - my personal favorite is Baked Potato, but the Clam Chowder, Cream of Chicken & Wild Rice, and Low-Fat Chicken Noodle Soup are all very tasty. All sandwiches also come with either a baguette or kettle-cooked chips. As far as drinks are concerned, they have your usual carbonated fare, a good selection of juices, and make espresso drinks as well if you're interested in a latte. Wi-fi didn't work. We skipped over about 6 tables until we finally found one that was free of crumbs, spilled drinks, or leftover food, and even then the table itself was so wobbly my husband had to put his foot on a part of the base to keep our food steady. And the customer service was lackluster at best. The latte? Meh. I've had better at airports. While we were standing in line getting our order, the gentleman behind me was checking out the stack of cookies on the counter and muttered to himself, "This one's not completely cooked." In a word: stayawayasfaraspossible. By the way, this isn't at all a reflection on the Panera Bread chain as a whole. I've been to the Panera Bread in north Irving, north Arlington, and Plano, and all were uniformly pleasant experiences. Great service, good food, good coffee, and clean surroundings. This particular one, though, is more reminiscent of a stale diner in a town that's seen better days. We don't eat out much because there are so few healthy choices out there, but Panera Bread is one of our favorite places to go. We love that they use antibiotic free, no hormone chicken, whole grains, and REAL food. My favorite sandwich is the Mediterranean Veggie!!! And the apple with your meal is a real treat. They'll even cut it if you ask. A nice bonus is to see calorie counts on menu. I see some of the other reviews had bad service... I've always received good service at the Ceder Hill location and even had an event catered where I was very impressed with the high level of service. Rapid pickup is a joke. Ordered and arrived at the empty store only to find that they hadn't even started my order placed 15 minutes prior. They were not busy and just standing around laughing in the kitchen. Had to wait a total of 20 minutes for 8 sliced bagels. Ridiculous. There's nothing rapid about their pick up. Additionally, for the 4th time, rapid pick up order was incorrect even when the receipt was "checked." Not a great day at Panera and I will not return... I'll admit they were having issues because of power outages but when 3/4 people behind me in line were served I start to question if they forgot about me. I walked around to ask if they had my order and no one acknowledged me. Not good but then when someone walked out of the kitchen I asked... he asked the women who didn't acknowledge me and they said it would be a minute. Worst experience EVER from a Panera. Kitchen couldn't keep up with orders coming through the kiosks and the order line. Took 45 minutes to get cinnamon roll because it was ordered with a breakfast sandwich. So, via kiosk, no one working to get the pastries to kiosk order. If you order cinnamon roll with breakfast sandwhich at register, they would hand you the cinnamon roll when you pay. Kitchen got behind so customers started 'claiming' orders that were not theirs. So orders being closed out . When the cooked food arrived, it was barely warm from sitting in the window. HORRIBLE!! read more

Whatever you do...don't expect any kindness, smiling, holding doors open for customers (after employees come back inside from taking personal calls on company time) and FOR SURE don't politely ask if someone can clean a table. Don't expect the food to come out quickly. Don't expect it to be served in any sense of service or hospitality. Don't expect employees to clean up around the restaurant when there are no customers in line for 30 minutes. It's better if the trash just sits there, and they all flirt with each other or make awkward sounds with each other. I love their their sandwiches, their soups, and salad. I also like getting an apple with my meal instead of bread (for my low carb days)! Their breakfast sandwiches, in my opinion, are just ok. It's not something I would go out of my way to get but I've only had their bagel sandwiches. It's always all squished together.... Another disappointment is their fruit smoothies and orange juice. The orange juice is from concentrate and their fruit smoothies are wayy too sweet and syrupy with little fruit. But I have to give this place 4 stars b/c I have spent 4-5 hours on multiple occasions studying here and the workers never make me feel like I should leave. Yayyy!!! read more

My friends and I really enjoy having lunch/dinner at Panera Bread. I haven't been to a location that I didn't like! I love getting their half Frontego Chicken panini and cup mac n cheese. Their mac n cheese is THE BEST I've ever had in a cafe. It's soo cheesy, thick, and full of flavor. Tastes waay better than anything from a box. See I work nationwide & when my coworker & I come to an area for 11-12 days, we like to have a chain restaurant we can depend on. I rush back to work, & there was absolutely NO CREAM CHEESE! *slowly inhales & exhales reminding myself that I do yoga & should be calm...lol* Oh but there was knives in the bag, which is why I drove off... what am I going to do with these knives? The prices are high and the food is yuck, no TLC and worse of all, the service!! Waxahachie Panera Bread. Sorry but can't find the Waxahachie one on here. Went there and was very unsatisfied with the price and drive thru window service. The person took forever to greet me at the window, forever to run my card, and the pastries were not fresh. I used to take my little ones to Panera Bread in Cedar Hill and we loved the pastries and soups. Very bad experience with Panera Bread on Pleasant Run in Cedar Hill, If I could give no star I would. Went inside to order a pizza on Saturday night, Dish washer named Michael was very unprofessional cussing out the young ladies that work in the front, Was told couldn't make pizza bc wasn't prep for it , way before closing time , and the one that made and prep for pizza was on a his phone in the back. After much aggravation, my daughter brought the pizza home, and before she could get it in the door, I smelled this nauseating smell, couldn't eat it after the smell and thinking about the aggravations we went through to get it. Decided to return it the next day because their was no manger on duty, returned it first thing on Sunday morning, manger on duty said there was nothing he could do about it and he was not going to give my money back, then he says what I can do is call the police. My son told him go and call them. The manger never offered to return my $$$ . Very ugly and indifferent. This is the Manger, just robbed me of my $$$. I love this place. We always have a great experience with the exception of tonight. Tonight the young lady who took our order was less than helpful. They brought the order out wrong and huffed a sigh at the request that it be corrected. They were apparently out of the baguette bread that comes with soups but no one bothered to make that known until the order was brought out with chips. This store doesn't even have salt or pepper! They have five different condiments and four kinds of sweetener but no pepper? The food was ok, but soup was not hot. First of all, kudos to Panera for posting calorie counts on all of their menu items. I'm always surprised at which items are packed with calories, and Panera has now taken the guesswork out of it. This store seems to have struggled with their management in the past, but I have to say today was a wonderful experience, especially since I came from a disastrous trip to the Best Buy (aka the customer is always wrong) across the street. Special requests? No problem. I ordered the wrong salad and when I realized they changed it out with a smile. I am hooked on their baguette that you get with most orders, and today it was right out of the oven - Yum!
