Broccoli Bread soup
Lyubov S.

This place has the best soup ever! I love the broccoli cheddar soup in the bread bowl! It's so delicious and filling. I always come only for the soup. But decided this time to try something els, with my girls. We got the salad and pizza.

Spoiled greens from a turkey sandwich

Spoiled greens on my sandwich today. The people there are nice enough but you can't serve a person rotten food.

A WHOLE grilled chicken Asian Salad.

I ordered an Asian Grilled Chicken salad. What I received was a few pieces of lettuce, 2 wonton strips and 2 SMALL pieces of chicken. A $16 salad. I'll never eat from here again

I did not care for but then again I'm not a Panera bread fan. I have tried numerous Panera's and I've always been let down. I just came to this one for lunch and I had a BLT. I had the same issues that I have every Panera I go to. And that issue is just that to me the food is on the bland side and doesn't really have much of a taste. I know that many will disagree with me on that and I guess I would say if you're a fan of Panera you'll probably like it here and if you don't like Panera you won't like it here. I find most of them to be very similar in the set up and in the food choices and the taste of the food. TruE to form, I really didn't like my sandwich. I found that the bread was very bland and the whole sandwich was sort of tasteless. I'm also really not a big fan of the atmosphere here. It's hard to find a seat, it's very noisy and I have to train numerous Panera's I've come to the conclusion that as a restaurant they're not for me.

The food was alright. But the lady in the back was rude and didn't care to get my dad's order right.

It was elevated Southern cuisine, and we enjoyed it enough that we may go back before leaving the area. The restaurant has a comfortable feel -- upscale, but not stuffy. The service was excellent. The servers were personable and attentive without hovering. At one point, I accidentally dropped my napkin, and our server immediately brought me another one. Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious. Great food, thoughtful service, and a comfortable upscale atmosphere. This was the best meals we had in the area.

The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, while still being very modern. Our server was very charming and helpful - especially with my food allergies. The food was delicious and we were surprised by a nice amuse bouche (romanesco salsa on a homemade tortilla chip) Warning: on the pecan crusted trout the ginger sweet potatoes were VERY ginger-y. Delicious, but make sure you love ginger before ordering!

We saw some exquisite dishes come to tables around us. We ended deciding on the safe route. We ordered hot egg rolls, dumplings and garlic wings as appetizers and followed with chicken fried rice. Three thin egg rolls deep fried, almost like cigars, and sweet and savory sauce. There were 5 dumplings ... just delicious with the soy based sauce. Five chicken wings rounded out the start. We wanted them extra crispy - the kitchen did not execute. Fried rice was perfect - crunchy with plenty of protein, a combination of shrimp and chicken. Portion size was large. Would definitely return. Classic flavors, friendly service and good value. Highly recommend without any reservations. Enjoyed the experience.

Always consistently delicious. My favorites are the B5 with no noodles side of onions and the wings. I seriously wish they would bottle that wing sauce. I would put it on everything.

We had an incredible experience at Asheville Proper and I felt compelled to share just how…read moreexceptional the entire team was. First, a huge shoutout to our waitress Emma. Her personality, attention to detail, and genuine care for our table stood out immediately. She was engaging, thoughtful, and clearly takes pride in making sure every guest has an amazing experience. Service like that elevates a great meal into a memorable one. Michael, the manager, was equally impressive. I watched him throughout the night--expediting, hustling, and constantly moving to keep the team running at peak efficiency. You can tell when leadership truly cares about the experience in the room, and he absolutely sets the tone for excellence. We later learned the head chef was out on maternity leave, which honestly shocked us because the sous chef was in absolute beast mode. Plate after plate came out flawless. The consistency, quality, and presentation were top-tier--you would never know anything was missing from the kitchen leadership. Now the food... simply incredible. We tried all of the sides, and every single one felt like a masterpiece of its own. Each dish had a genius mix of flavors and the same "wow factor" you'd expect from a main course. Nothing felt like an afterthought. I think my favorites were the beets and sweet potato tots. Who knew those vegetables could be lifted into a literal stand alone experience. I ordered the Ribeye, medium rare, and it was cooked perfectly. The flavor, temperature, and seasoning were of the highest caliber--easily one of the best steaks I've ever had, and I've eaten all over the world. For appetizers we went with the Curry Mussels and Bone Marrow. They were beyond belief. Every plate held its own level of excellence. The food: Amazing. The atmosphere: Amazing. The team: On a whole other level of amazing. We were celebrating a business success, and the team at Asheville Proper made it feel like we were truly winning. Highly recommend. I literally believe these guys just gave me one of the top two meals I have ever had! Keep it up, team!

I was grateful to be able to get a seat at the bar, with a less than 10 minute wait. It is honestly worth it! The staff was warm and welcoming, even with tending to loads of customers (this is a true skill and art). The ambiance is upbeat and lively! Imagine a roadside breakfast parlor. I sat at the bar and it was good vibes! The hostess used to live in my hometown (who woulda thunk it) & I met the coolest guy from Boston, who has a golden doodle named Nugget back home. Good vibes all the way, which added to a special experience. He was flying back home after his meal. Now, onto the food (the part you all have been patiently waiting for). I ordered a hibiscus tea as my beverage (warm and refreshing). I also ordered the carrot cake hotcakes, a side of bacon, and a side of home fries. The carrot hotcakes were luscious! They came with hazelnut butter, and amazing syrup!!! These hotcakes were savory and filling! The bacon had an essence of hickory! A perfect medley between crispy and tender! The home fries were seasoned nicely and I doused them with ketchup and hot sauce! This was an iconic and memorable restaurant experience for me! This is coming from someone who has dined in restaurants around the world! Cheers!
