The selection of shake flavors was amazing!

I'm from Southern California and was visiting my friend who lives in Fletcher. My husband who's been to North Carolina told me I HAD TO go here for a milkshake. I was not disappointed! We went thru the drive thru which took a while, but didn't mind because my Strawberry Cheesecake Shake was DELICIOUS! I would definitely go back if I'm ever in the area again.

Have you heard about Cook Out? Me neither. Apparently, it's a southern-only fast food joint that serves fried chicken sandwiches, burgers, and milkshakes. They had me at fried chicken sandwiches. After returning from Sierra Nevada, we required food to nosh. And this fit the bill on Patton Avenue. For my money, I enjoyed a spicy chicken sandwich with mini corndogs, and a peanut butter banana milkshake. Yeah, definitely not watching calories here. Just went for the tilt and I'm so glad I did. This did the trick after I had some beers at the brewery. While I enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich and the corn dogs were tasty, I really loved the peanut butter banana milkshake, which holy fuck on a stick, this was amazing! I enjoyed every drop of the milkshake as I ate the chicken sandwich and mini corndogs. That held me over for a while needless to say.

Cookout is a fast food establishment that I do wish that we had here locally in Louisville. Because I would go there pretty often. It has great options they're cheap you can go and get corn dogs and hotdogs and fries and burgers and even tacos and things so it's definitely a fun place to check out and I go to a city that has a cookout we stop in and get it because I really enjoy their food

Halfway done with my burger and I had not bitten into any meat yet

I love Cook-Out, but this is probably the worst once I've ever been to. The indoor dining has been closed for awhile due to COVID-19, which is understandable. However our fries were old and the slaw was just cabbage with no Mayo or flavoring. The worst part was I ate half of my burger without hitting any burger patty. It was 1/3 the size it should have been unfortunately.

I recently took a cross country road trip and my route took me through Asheville. We met up with some friends of ours and the consuming of beers would ensue. After a few hours of this we were all tired and weary from our hard fought battle with the duel wielded 30 packs of Pabst. We needed some nourishment, and we needed it fast! We didn't know what to order or what was available. They suggested Cook Out. Being a New England transplant to Austin, I had never heard of this "Cook Out" they spoke of. We hit the road and good times would be had! We showed up at around 3 am and we had two dining options, drive thru and a walk up window with patio seating available. We opted for the patio seating and walk up, which ended up being an excellent choice! Our food came out very fast and it was super fresh. The best part of the patio however was the random assortment of Asheville locals that were all around. Some of these people were hilarious! As far as food goes I opted for the Cheeseburger Tray. This came with the sandwich, 2 sides (I chose chicken nuggets and fries) and a premium milk shake (I chose the Cheerwine Float, if you have never had Cheerwine, GET IT, its a local NC delicacy) I also decided to add a hot dog with extra onions. Having ordered this mass amount of food I easily though my food would be over $10, but I was pleasantly surprised when the cashier said my total was a little over $6 dollars! That's right all this for 6 beans! The food tasted great and for the price hey, you can't beat it! I can't wait to roll through NC on my way back to Austin so I can get me some COOK OUT!

We had a productive conversation in which we were both able to discuss the experience and come to a resolution. I am very grateful for the quick response, being open to call, and listen further. Thank you Benjamin! On another trip to Asheville, we will try it again..... ********************************************************** My family and I were quite excited about trying an unique restaurant and seen great reviews, however, our experience wasn't so great! Upon arriving at the restaurant, we had seen some items we wanted to try, but the sanitation grade on the door was a 90, so that quickly changed our food choice and should have changed our food experience for the evening. We decided to try it anyway! The hostess didn't know the menu very well and couldn't answer many questions without having to go ask someone each time. Once we ordered, my brother tried paying for the food a few times and she kept walking away. While waiting for our food, the same hostess "cleaned" a table for waiting guests by wiping the food from last guest onto the floor and leaving it there and continued to seat the next few tables, and then decided to come back and get the food swept up. I guess it's normal because another server did the same thing and that never got swept up. Our food (wings and brisket) was ready. The pan lid was not closed all the way due to them putting all 36 wings that had different flavors in the same container. We continued to inspect our food and the wings weren't hot (fresh), all three flavors in the same container, sauce was clumpy, and wings were very dark and dry looking. We couldn't tell which flavor was which. My husband tried conversing with a young man (tall, dark wavy hair), who couldn't or wouldn't attempt any service recovery with my husband and pretty much told us everything looked good to him leaving my husband frustrated. I located a manager told her what was going on and she evidently didn't have any empowerment from upper management to decide resolution because she had to go ask the general manager to resolve. The general manager agreed to "remake" the order which they did separate the flavors this time and they were warmer. Considering this was a remake the GM brought our order out to us and should have been apologetic, making sure everything was correct and was satisfactory to us. He literally handed my husband the bag and took off. My husband had to make a comment to him in order for the GM to acknowledge him. We definitely would love to speak to a corporate member and or owner, and will make a phone call to them. This was very disappointing, concerning, and a disheartening experience in Asheville!

We went all out with appetizers and main courses, and everything was excellent. For starters, my husband ordered the buffalo chicken bites and I got the fried pickles. Both were perfectly prepared, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The burgers were the absolute highlight. I ordered the "Bacon Crunch" style Juicy Lucy, which came stuffed with cheese and topped with bacon jam, pickles, crisp bacon slices, and potato chips for a perfect crunch. My husband went for the "Lucy Loco" burger, which came loaded with jalapeños. Both burgers had incredible flavor, were an ample size, and hit the spot perfectly. The sides were just as impressive. I had the sweet potato fries, and my husband ordered the fried green beans--which were uniquely delicious and really well done. To top it all off, our server, Carla, was very nice and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. We started with the Dumplings appetizer along with some garlic herb Edamame and it was very good, we asked for eight shrimp and they were glad to adjust for us. Crispy and a nice crunch. It was a nice beginning. The soybeans were fresh and hot with a nice flavor also a good start. Next some Toro and Hamachi Sashimi, both were fresh and flavorful. Along with a California roll, it was true to type, nicely rolled and good flavor. Next I had the Sweet Heart Roll, an impressive presentation and work of art. Simply delicious and so flavorful. This was an excelleny choice. Then the Madness Fries, a pile of seasoned fries with a mound of shredded carb on top. This is simply insane, it was such a delicious bowl and the combination of salty fries with sweet crab. A winner. If I was rating this place on the taste of the burgers alone, it would hands down be 5 stars. These are simply the best fast food burgers that you've NEVER HAD. In other words, fast food burgers reimagined with all the taste you crave, but without the crap ingredients and weird bloaty aftereffects. These are fast food burgers the way they should be. That said, the prices reflect that. The burgers are good sized with two patties, but they run $12 for a beef smash burger or $14 if you opt for the Impossible Burger (which you can get with regular "freedom cheese" and sauce or with vegan cheese and sauce). They offer a "combo" for $3 more, but it's a bag of chips and sour patch gummy candy for dessert. Based on that, my recommendation for now is to just go with the burger and enjoy it on its own. If the owners see this review, here's my suggestion: invest in a really good fryer and do the same thing you've done with fast food burgers, but for french fries, too. I'm sure frying units are a pain with the cooking oil, extreme heat and all, but it would be so great to have the FULL fast food experience reimagined. Service was friendly. Multiple indoor and outside seating options, and you can take the burgers over to any of the areas of DayTrip to enjoy your burger with a beer or cocktail. DayTrip's beer menu even includes a [canned] beer called Boy Howdy that DSSOLVR produces to go along with the Boy Howdy burgers. That's a better combo! This place is so much better than most burger places that even with the relatively pricey burgers, I'll go back. I'd go back more often if they served really great french fries along with the burgers!
