I saw a video on Instagram "If he takes you out on February 13, you are the mistress." If he takes you out on February 14th, you are the girlfriend; If he doesn't take you out at all, congratulation, you are the wife!" Today is Valentine's Day, and I spent the day with my wife and family. We want to eat something simple tonight, so we went to Panera Bread (This is actually our first time at Panera Bread). We ordered sandwiches, soups, breads, brownies, and cookies. The quantities are pretty small, but the flavors are good. To me, Valentine's Day is more about spending time with loved ones than it is about where to eat nice food. I'm really appreciative of the time I get to spend with my wife, kids, and in-laws tonight. Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!

Visited this store to grab my unlimited sip club beverage and got ice tea. Feeling good and also decided to get their new energizing drink cherry lime and their strawberry basil drink. Very refreshing. Ordered on the app and had to wait a long time for my drink and it was the wrong size medium. They were cool and got me a large which was what I had ordered. Even took longer for their new flavored drinks. Some parking in the front.

Food is great [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like to enjoy my food in restaurant but I feel like they have a lot of campers[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . [[HIGHLIGHT]]I just want to sit and eat and it's full of people just sitting there not even eating but on the phone or laptops and every time I come it's it's normally the same people and I only come about once a month if so because of the campers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I feel they should give customers a limit so others who are actually going to eat a place to sit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I hope the managers keep that in consideration

Panera has always been my go-to. However today, my service with them is over. I will be canceling my subscription with them. I had ordered the Ranch Parm BLT salad and first off, my salad lid was NOT CLOSED ALL THE WAY SHUT THEREFORE HALF OF MY SALAD SPILLED OUT. I also ordered the Broccoli cheddar soup (which is one of my favorite soup), but today was UNFORTUNATE. While enjoying my soup, I noticed something on the soup lid so I took a look closer. Turns out, it was a BUG! Now the BUG LOOKED LIKE IT HAD BE DRENCHED IN MY SOUP. I felt sick to my stomach. If you are going to be eating or planning to dine with Panera, I advise you to check your food before eating. Who knows if this has happened to anyone else and no one just noticed it.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Very fast staff, lots of seats but it can get crowded in the early afternoon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came here today to redeem my sip club drink (got my go to passion fruit papaya green tea!) no complaints about that. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom could be a little cleaner as the floor was wet and you could smell strong scent of urine.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I like that the place is quiet enough where you can do your work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Panera Bread on Commonwealth delivers exactly what you'd expect--reliable, fast-casual food in a clean and comfortable setting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The soups, salads, and sandwiches are consistent with the Panera brand, and service is generally efficient. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nothing surprising, but that's kind of the point. It's a dependable spot for a quick, decent meal or a quiet place to work or study with a coffee.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Got some coupons again. Otherwise this place is a rip off sorry. It's like fifteen bucks for any meal item and it's still technically fast food. I appreciate the drive thru though, when I have to order to go because my dog is being barky. Good service and food is normal. Got it on sale so even better. It's not that it's not fresh, I would just rather spend fifteen bucks somewhere else besides a chain. Nice outdoor seating. Easy parking. I dunno. They accidentally gave me a baguette in addition to my apple sub so that was cool.

I ordered togo a Cheese sandwich along with a Vanilla Latte. But by the time I got home all sandwich was stuck onto wrapper was not a good experience, coffee was good. I feel that a wrapper needs to be changed.

It would be nice if the flies did not ha.g out as much, especially on the pastries. Maybe they need to start wrapping the pastries or get an insect trap.

I went with the tomato and sliced beef for $14.99. This came with bean sprouts, which I wasn't aware of, and there was a lot of bean sprouts inside - almost as much as there was rice noodle. Not a fan of bean sprouts but will eat if I need to, but in this case - it totally overwhelmed the dish. There also wasn't enough rice noodle for me. Everything else was good, but that kinda blew it for me. Also got the spicy soup with beef and tomatoes. This is more of a gentle burn in spice they slowly works its way up. It's good if you like spice. Restaurant wasn't too busy when we arrived but got a good amount of customers by the time we were leaving. Workers are friendly. Not sure if I'd be back though. Lots of street parking or a small lot to the side.

The portion rice is very generous, I can never finish and would end up taking leftovers. Parking: they have a lot next to the restaurant, I never had an issue with finding a spot. The only downside is they don't have their AC on during the summer. I remember one time I was sweating while eating and it was very uncomfortable.

It's simple what they do well here, they make darn good food that tastes like homemade food (healthy and delicious), they price everything on the menu very reasonably (especially in these crazy times), and they treat all their customers like family/neighbors. Now that I've given you the why, let's move on to the good food. We usually order the beef noodle soup because of how tender the meat is and the soup & noodles are just perfect comfort food. And we always pair it with veggies (garlic cucumbers or water spinach) and pork dumplings are also amazing. Almost any of their braised meat rice/noodles are just really good (popular ones are braised pork rice or braised chicken leg rice). Interior space is also very roomy and comfortable for big groups or cozy meals Parking is pretty easy since they have a lot in their back entrance and they used to let you park underground as well but the building's new management started closing the gates at 6pm because they're just sad and unfriendly human beings lol but luckily the surrounding area has many places to park.

This restaurant is difficult to get parking because it is located inside a small plaza on the corner of Valley and Garfield. Fortunately, I found a parking space there. The restaurant is not particularly large, But there are many customers dining there. I'm able to speak with the owner, who informs me that this restaurant does not use MSG or other ingredients. Everything is fresh and healthy. After tasting the food and the Braised Beef Noodles, I can tell it's really tasty and light, with no harsh components that make you thirsty and want to drink more water. So far, my family and I have really enjoyed the food here. Definitely will return and try other delicious foods next time.

On a Saturday evening, my husband and I decided to grab dinner here. Because we parked in the shared parking lot, we entered the restaurant through the back. We were immediately greeted upon entering. After being seated and looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Fish Tofu Congee, $10.50 prior to tax- This meal truly nourished my soul because I was really sick a few days before and hardly ate anything. The congee was nice and hot and thick, just the way I like it. Portion wise, this is perfect for 2- 3 people to share. But again because I had not eaten much for the last few days, I ended up eating most of it (lol, had not realized how hungry I was until I was eating this). My husband did enjoy this congee too. Beef Stew Noodle Soup, $14.95 prior to tax- My husband ordered this dish and thought the soup was flavorful and the noodles had a nice chew. I also liked this dish and thought it was delicious. My husband finished most of this dish. ------------------------------ (Total= $28.10 after tax, prior to tip) Service was friendly. And because the restaurant is on the small side, it was very easy to get a server's attention if you needed something. Although I did speak mostly Cantonese when I was here (I am actually trying to make myself speak Cantonese more), you can order in English. So you shouldn't have any trouble when you dine here. Overall, coming to The Congee was the right choice for dinner and so glad we did. I do see myself coming back here for another meal in the near future. Please note that there is a unisex restaurant towards the back of the restaurant, right next to the back entrance/ exit. The restroom itself had all the basic essentials (running water, toilet paper, paper towels and soap) but wasn't the cleanest. It was decent at best.

They lacked both the expected spiciness and the salty flavor. I believe I had anticipated a taste similar to crispy spicy salted pork chops. The dish featured four generously sized shrimp wontons, all amply filled with shrimp. I did sample the noodles, but unfortunately, I was too satiated to fully appreciate them. I am looking forward to returning for the Shrimp Wonton Noodles in Soup.

We came here on Sunday at around 2pm and still waited around 30-40min for a table All that time waiting in line meant I had plenty of time to read through reviews and strategize my order, hah! By the way, when you arrive, make sure you go inside the restaurant and get a number and hang out until they call your number. It's pretty low tech lolll. Popcorn chicken - this seems to be a crowd favorite. It was good popcorn chicken but definitely not as good as other places in the area. That said, I do agree that it's good value as the portion is really big. Beef roll - ordered it without cilantro since cilantro is not my friend (sorry cilantro lovers). It ended up tasting a little plain and needed some of the chilli crisp/ oil to give it a little oomph. That said, the crust/ roll was good and the beef was flavorful (not too dry). Not bad, but also not amazing. Pork and veggie dumping in chilli oil - this was also just okay. The dumpling itself was lacking flavor but I guess the sauce helps. Braised beef and tendon noodles - If there's one thing I'd order again, it would be this. I LOVE the texture of the noodle. It has the perfect springy bite. Love love love the noodle. The beef was tender and the soup was okay (Good, not great). But the noodles though, if I could just buy the noodles, I would. If I were to sum up the food, I'd say it's not bad, but not amazing. The value is great since portions are generous, but taste wise is pretty average. Was it worth the wait? Absolutely not. I would not wait more than 10min for a table here to be honest. Would I come back here again if it was less than 10min wait? Yea probably if I was in the area.

The hot and sour soup was thick and chunky, just how I like the soup. The scallion bread sandwich with 5-spice beef was distinct. The bread was perfectly baked and the beef was flavorful and juicy. There was both mustard greens and pickles that gave crunch and acidity to balance the meat and bread. The lotus root salad was refreshing while still having a kick from their in-house chili oil. Dan Dan noodles were also excellent. Fresh cucumbers, chewy noodles, flavorful sauce. Hearty portions with enough for a lunch the next day. Also appreciated the speed of service. They also had really authentic and delicious looking cold appetizers like woodear mushrooms and lotus root salad. There was barely a line when we arrived and we were able to order and get a table without much wait. The food all came out at the same time and very quickly. We got their shrimp wontons, Chia Yi chicken rice, and sesame scallion bread stuffed with braised pork belly. I was ready to be transported back to Asia when I saw the dishes but tasting them left me wanting more. The shrimp wontons had very thin silky wrapper which was very tasty, but the shrimp itself was so bland and lacked texture. Most of the shrimp wontons I've loved had a nice bite to it from the baking soda soak but this was just soft dumpling skin on soft shrimp. The shrimp itself could've used more salt and white pepper too, but I suppose dousing it in chili oil helped. The scallion bread filled with pork belly is probably the tastiest dish. The pork belly was well cooked and paired well with the sweet sauce, crunchy peanuts and fresh herbs. The sesame scallion bread however tasted like it has been sitting out on the counter for hours waiting to be stuffed. The bread was cold and the exterior wasn't crispy, there were scallion pieces throughout but you couldn't really taste it. I would recommend trying other dishes before trying the chia yi chicken rice. The shredded chicken was dry and bland, mixed in with mostly soggy pieces of fried shallots. The rice was more flavourful because it was soaked in fragrant oils, but it also left it very mushy and almost congee like. The pickled radishes didn't add much to the dish either. I almost forgot but we also tried their honey lemon black tea and passion fruit black tea. Neither tea had a lot of tea flavor, it was mostly just sweet. The passion fruit syrup was pretty tasty but we both wished there was more black tea. I might be extra critical since I grew up with this type of food, but there are other restaurants in LA that delivers great quality Chinese food. TL;DR: Joy is a well decorated restaurant with good vibes that prioritizes speed of service over freshness and flavour of food.
