Pay by weight fresh Brazilian meats! There are 3 different prices for vegetables and meat, some vegetable and mostly meat or just meat. The price is is very reasonable. Each day they rotate different sides/vegetables so you can check online for that. I really liked the pork and chicken sausage and the garlic steak. The sirloin was okay, but next time I would try the bacon wrapped chicken! The person in front of me got that and it looked super moist. Of the sides, I liked the kale mixed vegetables that had plantains and beans. I also liked the side that looked like potato salad with crispy potato on top. The cheese bread was okay. I didn't care for the fried yucca; it was kinda dry. Great fast and fresh food.

Amazing Always! Rice, beans, chicken sausage and wing, Plantain, Fresh fruit and vegetables.

Amazing Always! Amazing Always! Amazing Always! Gotta have Panela De Barro every time I'm back home visiting.

Came on a Sunday afternoon. They have take out containers and plates depending on if you want take out or eat in. Grab what you want from the buffet. They have pao de queijo, sweet plantains, rice, yucca fries, beans, fries, salad, etc. Then bring your plate/container to the meat station. Tell them what you want, and then bring your plate/container to the counter to weigh and pay. I usually get sweet plantains and "rare" garlic steak. I've also tried their bacon wrapped chicken, sausage, pork, rice, fries, pac de quejio. It's reasonably priced by weight and I can get full off of $7 of food. The meat is constantly over heat so how well done your meat is by chance. Typically when I ask for rare, the meat is cooked medium. If you don't specify, they'll give you overcooked dry meat.

My plate during lunch with different salad and meat.

This place is great and I love it. Price is very affordable. 7 of us came for lunch and ate so much meat and dessert and cost ~$125. Love the Brazilian meat options!! Personal favorite is the garlic steak, bacon wrapped chicken and the sausage. Dessert are amazing too! Definitely will come back.

The food was delicious. It's Brazilian buffet a really simple but tasty buffet. In here you can find Brazilian beverages like cashew juice and their sodas. If you go there at 8:30pm you can take food home in a lower price I think they're trying to avoid wasting food and that's a good thing. The staff is nice to costumers and that's great. This place isn't fancy but delicious. I had white rice, feijão preto (black beans), farofa and plantains.

Ok quality food. Meats are dry and too salty. (Maybe better during lunch?) Pay by weight and reasonable price. No alcohol available. Nice staff. Overall

The food is delicious though I would love the Resturant to reduce the salt content in most of their meats. Am not sure if it's a Brazillian cultural thing.

Panela de Barro is a cute, unassuming Brazilian buffet place tucked away on Waltham's Newton Street. It wasn't on Yelp, and I couldn't find any reviews anywhere, so I'd avoided it -- it looks kind of blah from the outside, there's not much convenient parking, it looks like it could maybe be expensive, and it's far from the main dining drag on Moody Street. This was a mistake. Let me tell you: PdB is a worthy destination. Format is a self-serve Brazilian buffet, with everything pinned at a very reasonable $6/lb. Buffet selections rotate daily, with brazilian BBQ (you know, the kind served off of SWORDS) always available. Yeah, that means you're talking $6/lb for a plate full of steak, chicken wrapped in bacon, fried plantains, crispy vegetable ceviche-style salad, spice-rubbed chicken wings, black beans, fish stew, you name it! Quite a selection. I'm not an expert on Brazilian cuisine, so I can't speak to authenticity -- but considering my co-worker and I were the only people in there not speaking Portuguese, I'm going to go ahead and say it's probably pretty spot-on. What I can say with certainty was that it was absolutely delicious and I am currently very full of tasty meat. Pro tip: go ahead and serve yourself from the buffet, then go over to the register to weigh it. You pay when you leave, or you can fill up a Styrofoam container and rock it takeout style. Bonus: After leaving, one of the employees (presumably the owner) came out to our car and asked if we liked it. "Delicious! We'll be back for sure!" I replied. Friendly people, cheap, awesome, meaty food. Get over here!

Chicken wrapped in bacon, mixed greens with tomato vinaigrette, veggies, rice & beans... Mmmmm

A hidden gem from my perspective. It's nothing fancy, sometimes a little hard to communicate with the cashier but they are great people and have great food. The Food~ The spicy sausage is juicy and rich with a bit of a kick. The garlic and regular Picanha meat are also soft and tender. The crusty skin with the garlic and salt bits mends well with the meat. Paired together with the jasmine butter rice neutralizes the saltiness and pulls you back for more. The oxtail and soup is also very good. The warm soup with the tender oxtail paired again with the rice is the perfect combo. There wasn't a lot of vegetable options but I'm not complaining :) The Logistics~ There is plenty of parking on the street and also a public parking lot near Blanchard. A party of 4 is considered large for this place and you'll end up taking all the seats. Don't like sticking around too long and the seating area is pretty limited and not the best for private conversations.

It even has a fireplace which I imagine is a cozy addition in the winter. If you're lucky, you might even hear the commuter rail rush by during your meal. The service at the restaurant is great with the servers being incredibly attentive. To start us off, we were given a bowl of cheese bread - these were addictive and super tasty! I had to control myself and turn down the offer of another round because I didn't want to get too full on bread alone. As for the meat, servers make rounds around the dining room with various grilled meats that they cut off for you right at the table. They come by every few minutes so you will never be left waiting long. My personal favorite was the top sirloin! I do wish there were some more exotic options, such as chicken gizzards / hearts as I've had at other Brazilian restaurants. The buffet area had some good dishes. I appreciated the salad section and side dishes to help offset the heaviness of the meat. I do wish that the buffet area was larger and had more variety, but overall I was happy with my food. I did feel that the restaurant was a bit expensive and was a little disappointed to see that there were no free dessert offerings included in the buffet price. I would come back but only for truly special occasions as it was pricer than other AYCE places I've been.

Two of the stalls in the ladies room were empty. The trash near the sinks were overflowing with paper towels. For the price they charge, they should have a server in training walking the floor refilling waters for the customers. Also someone checking the paper products and the trash in the bathrooms is very much needed The only reason I gave 3 stars and not 2 was because I absolutely loved the food So if you can get past the bad service the food is definitely worth it

My fourth Dine Out Boston 2026 Winter visit: Alma Gaucha, the Brazilian rodizio, with colleagues…read more The meat was delicious, the salad station was plentiful, and we ate until we were stuffed... Meat Serving: My favorites were all kinds of beef! The Premium of Top Sirloin and Top Sirloin with Garlic were extremely juicy and tender, as you can see. I recommended medium rare, and don't cook it more than medium. Tri-Tip Steak and Tri-Tip Steak with Cheese were relatively coarse, but had a layer of fat that made them more flavorful. I recommended medium; medium-well would be too dry. Lamb Steak was juicy and flavorful, with no gamey taste, so eat with confidence. Chicken Wrapped with Bacon and Chicken Legs were garlic-flavored, but the meat was a bit tough. Cheese with Honey was a calorie bomb but really delicious; the cheese had a slightly gamey taste, and the more honey, the better. Most importantly, the grilled meats here are just the right amount of salty; only the Chicken Heart and Pork Sausage were very salty. There were various sauces to choose from, but I personally recommend the oily and slightly sour Chimichurri, or simply salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Salad Station: Foods were plentiful and all very fresh and of good quality. My favorite was the Apple Salad, which was like the old-fashioned "fruit and salad dressing" version from my childhood--it was nostalgic and had a wonderfully refreshing sweet and sour taste. The Smoked Trout was tender and had a wonderfully flavorful fat, but considering it from freshwater , I only had a small taste. The Clam Chowder had a rich creaminess that perfectly complemented the umami of the clams. The Bruschetta, with its creamy sweetness from roasted garlic paired with the crispy bread, was a delightful little treat. Side Dishes: My personal favorite was the Mashed Potatoes, fried potato balls with a crispy, airy exterior and a creamy filling. The Yucca Croquette was like a tapioca version of Pão de Queijo, with the same crispy crust and mochi-like texture, but a milder cheese flavor. The Caramelized Bananas were too soft and mushy; cooked bananas always have a rotten taste. The Crispy Polenta was very hard, mainly cornstarch, and had little flavor. Desserts: The waiter's recommendation, the Red Velvet Cake, was definitely on point. It was less sweet and had a gentler sweetness, more suitable for Chinese tastes. If you like it sweeter, get more of the part with white chocolate sauce. The Mango Cake had a very smooth mousse and a rich mango flavor. The Keylime Pie was too sweet and sour, too strong a flavor.

It has been consistent for the most part in terms of their food selection, but this time they did not offer Fraldinha or Alcatra anymore on their Dine Out Boston menu. Their cold/hot food bar is better than Fogo's selection by far. It seemed there were more limited meats that came by especially since we were seated close to the entrance of the restaurant despite my card being green the whole time. I would expect everything on the limited menu to show up at least once and the wait time for specific cuts of meat took way too long even with requesting a cut from the staff. Somehow the cheese with honey never shows up either. I went during weekday lunch and the restaurant was semi-busy in the front half of the place up until the end of my visit in which there were only a few tables left and I still didn't get any additional Picanha. They came around with the cheaper alternatives more often. The meats I was served were seasoned well, but the variation in temperature for cuts I got were somewhat off putting despite requesting medium rare each time. There were some perfect temps to start off, but half the time they cut me thin slices of well done meat. That was my table's experience this time around unfortunately. I'd come back again since I've had many better experiences here over the years and I hope this was a fluke and not the fact that it has gone downhill.

DINNERS BEWARE I…read morehave eaten here three times. This was the fourth visit. Every single time I have announced, "I have a food allergy and can only have meat. Is the meat made with anything besides meat? Any seasonings? Any oils of any kind?" And every time I've been told, "No, just meat, nothing else", by more than one employee. And every time, I noticed the pork, specifically, tasted garlicky. But out of trust of what I was told and hunger, I always ate it. And to be fair, meat is delicious. It's obvious why the restaurant is so popular. But that's not the point at all. The point is I asked about seasonings again this time, like always. And this time the guy cutting the meat did say that there's garlic... "ON EVERYTHING". So I specifically asked, "How could that be? I was told every single time I've eaten here that the meat doesn't have anything besides meat." The meat cutter and someone else who I guess is a supervisor clarified for me that , "Yes, everything is seasoned with at least garlic and furthermore, it's all basted in SOYBEAN OIL." Holy crap, that's not even kind of serious, that's EXTREMELY serious. Someone with bad enough of an allergy could have an anaphylactic reaction and DIE. Anyway, I expressed my frustration as politely as I could that they need to be more careful, politely turned away my plate of food and went back to my table to wait for my cousin to finish eating. A couple of minutes later the manager came over and asked me about the situation so I told her the story and she apologized. She was very kind and accommodating, letting me know if I call ahead next time they can prepare food for me the way I want, with just meat and nothing else. That's very nice. During the conversation she made me aware that there were a couple of the dishes that absolutely just had meat and salt and NOTHING ELSE, EVER. To be fair, it wasn't forced on me. I just said, "If that's ACTUALLY the case, then I would just order and eat those two options and I'd be okay with that." She assured me that it was the case and that it was JUST meat, so I trusted it and agreed. Big mistake. I get my plate of meat and go back to my seat and start eating. Immediately, I can taste garlic and seasoning and I find what is unmistakably a caraway seed among other herb bits crusted on the meat. SERIOUSLY?! AFTER ALL THAT? I bring it to the attention of the supervisor and she's just like , "Oh really?" And apologizes. And then we left. Good riddance. Look, everyone. The point of this VERY NEGATIVE review is not out of spite. The last thing I would want to do is hurt a business of genuinely nice, hard working people who are making a living feeding people. But the reality is THEY COULD HURT SOMEBODY OR WORSE with their negligence. I'd like to add that I understand that in a place like this there is likely a language barrier much of the time. That's fine but that's completely not acceptable for food service, not in America, anyway. Employees should be trained about food safety standards and allergy concerns, no matter what. To be clear and fair, I love Brazilian people and culture. That's why we we were eating there. It's not a knock on them or any one group of people. But there are standards here for a reason. Now I'm leaving upset with a low-grade pressure headache, a tight throat, and mild nausea from ingesting what is luckily just a few bites of seed oil and who knows what kinds of seasoning. Every time I've eaten here previously, I felt off afterwards in a similar way. It's definitely not just from a food coma. This NEVER happens to me. I eat only meat until I'm stuffed every single day. And I feel great. I always trusted their word and assumed it was something else causing me to feel that way, and didn't make the connection with their food. I'm writing this review 3 hours later and I still feel sick as described. This review is a warning to others. They DESERVE any negative scrutiny it brings their business. Maybe next time they will be more careful. DINERS BEWARE.
