    Tequenos - $9.50 3 tacos for $12

Wow, I hate to rate this place badly, after waiting months to try it out. However, it is just not worth the price tag to me. The overall vibe is cute, the table set up and music is fun on the side of the road. The staff was decent enough, even bringing our food to the table after ordering from the truck. However, we noticed that the folks next to us had only received half of their order after waiting for so long. Our order didn't take as long, but did come out incorrectly, which was a bummer. The food itself was pretty tasty, but the prices do not reflect that on the menu. The quesadilla was $17 for a half size quesadilla that left me very hungry afterwards. Overall, I was really looking forward to trying this cute food truck out, but most likely won't be returning as 3 tacos, a small side of tequenos, and a half quesadilla cost almost $50.

Pedro's was great even on a rainy chilly afternoon! I had driven past the bright, sunny food truck so many times on Soldiers Field Road, wondering what sort of good eats lay waiting inside, and was not disappointed. The menu covers many main-stays - while I was initially hooked on the tacos, I knew there was only one thing I wanted to eat. The arepas. I think of arepas as a cross between a sandwich, a bao, and a flatbread, stuffed with some sort of filling, but the dough is made using maize, which gives it a slightly grainy texture. I got the chicken avocado arepa and it was absolutely incredible, with generous stuffing. I liked my friend's pernil one too. I'd come back to try the melted cheese version. Fried plantains were also delicious, nicely fried, the sweet flavor shining through. Too easy to eat way too much of. My fish taco was all right - some pieces of the fish were way too salty - but I liked the toppings. The cubano, with fried yuca on the side, looked good too. Pedro, the owner, couldn't be nicer. When he saw us shivering outside the window, he offered to just bring the food over to our cars. There's maybe one or two tables set up under the tent but otherwise not a lot of space to sit and eat. Ample parking and easy turn in/turn off access from the main road.

A super cute Taco truck on the Newton and Brighton border. Ample parking and outdoor seating. The food is incredible. Pedro is the owner and chef and the man has skills. He's a super nice guy with extensive culinary experience. Pedro's street burger was a cheeseburger on a brioche bun with hand cut fries. So good. The fried Yuka is a must try as well. The tacos are flavorful. Ask for hot sauce if you want more spice. Fish taco was perfectly executed. His steak tacos which are called beef have an incredible sauce on them. Sugar cane juice for the win. Overall you need to hit this place. Outdoor seating with string lights if you come at night. Love it. Pedro is making magic in truck.

Always drove by after work and finally had a chance to check it out tonight. They are located in a parking lot so plenty of spaces to park. They have a few tables with seatings outside. The owners/ staff are very friendly. After ordering, took about 10- 15 minutes for the food to be ready and they brought it out to our car. Super nice of them considering how windy it was tonight. We got the Cubano (comes with yucas) and 3 tacos (spicy chicken, local fish and chicharron). The tacos were good but not a whole lot of flavor. As for the Cubano. From the first bite, I knew it was something I would crave for and be back for. The pictures do not do it justice. The flavors, cheese and pickles went well together. The bread was very soft with a soft chewy-ness. I'll be stopping by again for the Cubano and to try other items as well!

Our experience here was incredible. We have been walking past it for weeks and finally decided to give it a try. One of my friends really does not like cilantro, and has always stayed far far away from anything that has it in it! When Pedro heard us ordering and heard my friend say that he decided to try and help my friend out. He shared his mother's cilantro sauce with yucca fries, and my friend could not stop licking his plate. He was so enamored with it! Pedro came over to each table to make sure things were going well and to see if people needed anything else and the overall vibe was just so welcoming and fun... even when the weather was freezing, it was definitely worth it to be there! We will absolutely be coming back and will never forget that experience. Thank you so much Pedro for teaching us how to be open to cooking and never to shut the door on any food! You make everything taste phenomenal. I wish I had remembered to take a picture of arepas but we ate them so fast there was no time, best I've had in US!

I truly turned around when I saw the truck was open!! I knew I needed to try. And since the arepas didn't even make it home it was so good!!! Everyone was so helpful and kind. They also had a wonderful seating area with a hand washing station and a great smelling fire happening too! I can't wait to go back and try the tacos :)

We went to a soup dumpling class today and had SO MUCH fun learning how soup dumplings are made and learning how to make simple Mei Mei folds and more complicated pleat folds. And then we got to enjoy the fruits of our labor with some lovely mocktails. Delicious! I highly recommend this class. Agnes was a great teacher and both patient and fun. If you can't make it a class, look for their dumplings at your local farmers market or go to their store. I like the classic pork and ginger best, but they also make some more unusual flavors and both veggie and vegan options

Tickets were a little over $30 and you get to eat a variety of dumplings to your heart's content. There was a delicious pickled cabbage side, salad, crunchy onion, and sauces. Drinks available for purchase. They even let us take some of the leftover dumplings at the end of the event. It's a small space so it was a little snug but honestly the vibes among the people there were great. This was an awesome way to eat great food and catch up with friends while supporting a small business. Highly recommend their bottomless dumpling event as well as their frozen dumplings.

Some food trucks are a step above, and Chicken & Rice Guys truck is one of them. It is everything I…read morecould want from a food truck and more! First, the service is lightning fast. It takes less than a minute to go from ordering your food to having the container in hand. Lunch breaks are precious, especially if it's 45 minutes long. Less time spent waiting is more time spent enjoying the blissful break from work. This is to say nothing of inclement weather! Then there is the food itself! I ordered a large chicken on rice with adds-ons of crisp onions and tomato+cuke. The chicken was tender and nicely seasoned, plus there was more than an ample amount. I always root for a place that isn't stingy with meat! The rice was forgettable, but considering this isn't an expensive sushi restaurant where every grain gets a mani-pedi before being sacrificed to humans. As a starch/carb element, the yellow rice was A-OK for the dish. The crisp onions were something I could have done without. Nothing against them; they felt unnecessary for me (not necessarily for you). Meanwhile, the tomato+cuke added some welcome freshness to the dish! Next time I will try to get half-rice, half-salad as my base... if not possible, I will get the tomato+cuke again, even though it isn't free. While ordinarily, I would pillory a place for charging $2.10 for a bit of veggie, though I appreciate this is what stops people from ordering rice and then getting five kilos of diced veggies on top of that! This is good and fine and would be a 4-star review. I would dust my hands off and get on with my day... but then there are the sauces. And let me tell you... sauces and I go together like milk and cookies! When my Uni had chicken nugget night, some would get a mountain of nuggies. Me? Five or six nuggies and every sauce/condiment the university had on tap! But I digress... the sauces added flavor, tied everything together, added additional moisture, and even played nice with one another! Did I mention sauces are self-service? The mint-cilantro-jalapeno was refreshing, flavorful, and had just a little kick! If you like a little heat, this might be great for you but proceed with caution (protecting myself from your lawyers!) The medium/"hot" actually brought some heat! And this is coming from someone for whom Tabasco tastes like salty vinegar! I dare not try the extra hot... I have high heat tolerance, but not that high! The flavor was okay, not mind-blowing, but combined with the creamy garlic, it was heaven! The creaminess took the edge away from the heat and added a whole new dynamic in texture. Plus, my Slavic heart loves garlic! Finally, the BBQ: I found this sauce unremarkable, similar to the BBQ sauce I have in my own fridge. However, I also realize that only some people like heat (or garlic), and I believe food is for everyone. Will absolutely be ordering from this truck again and again as long as it is nearby!
