Came in today and immediately got attitude from the girl at the register. Before I even said anything, she told me "I'm about to leave right now but I guess I'll take your order," which was just unnecessary and rude. While ordering, she kept rushing me and the whole interaction felt uncomfortable. I ordered an horchata latte and was told espresso was an extra $3 because apparently the latte doesn't even come with espresso, which made no sense. Then I tried ordering a smaller iced drink from the menu, only to be told they only had the larger size available for an extra charge. When I finally got my drink, it tasted completely watered down and wasn't worth the almost $9 I paid. I politely asked for a refund, and instead of just helping me, the guy making the drink argued with me and blamed the almond milk. I get almond milk everywhere, so that clearly wasn't the issue. Then he changed the excuse and said it was because there was no cold foam since I ordered almond milk, even though nobody even asked if I wanted the cold foam or not. We have come back time and time again for the incredible food. It has been a place that we really enjoy until we went on my birthday. We ordered to go food from them through door dash and I sent my fiancé in to get the two sandwiches. The woman working at the cash register was incredibly rude to him and told him that instead of a breakfast sandwich he ordered gelato. She assumed he was a door dash driver and told him he didn't know what he ordered. Finally, I went in and she basically yelled at my fiancé that he needed to tell her exactly what sandwich we ordered because they sold many different sandwiches. I showed her the order that they had approved but she refused to give us anything because she said what we ordered was not on the menu. We showed her it was and she told us there was nothing she could do for us. I expressed that we had already paid and she said that the restaurant didn't get the money because it was through door dash. She called the restaurant owner who did not answer and then basically told us we couldn't get anything because what we had paid for was less than the sandwiches they served. Throughout this whole experience we were nothing but understanding and she treated us like we were trying to steal something. Finally, after at least 25 minutes of trying to get our food we decided to leave without anything. At that point another man who was working there came over and told us he would give us the sandwiches. Not even five minutes later we had the sandwiches and they sent us off. Throughout this whole experience they were incredibly rude, especially to my poor fiancé who was just trying to do something nice for my birthday. We will definitely not be back after this experience. It is understandable that there can be mistakes on door dash but it is no excuse to treat customers in such a rude way. It can quickly fill up - at peak times the seating can be impossible. The pastries are beautifully displayed. The big printed wall menu is a nice touch. Service: You pay first and they either bring it out to you or you pick up. You may have to wait in line awhile, but the employees have always been helpful explaining the items. The food: French cafe sty;e food with a wide variety of beautifully made pastries, coffee, sandwiches, soup, salads (including salmon), and cake. The lunch item I ordered was the chicken pesto sandwich which I liked. But what I like most are their pastries. My favorites include the cinnamon twist which is dough twisted with a butter-cinnamon-sugar filling and dusted with powdered sugar. Hint: If you take it home, put it in warm over for 5-10 minutes and let is cool slightly. It'll be warm and crispy, tender and sweet with a great aroma. Also like the the tarts - cookie crust with different fillings - raspberry, multi fruit, pear, pecan. They're small but rich in taste. There is a wide variety of buttery croissants, like chocolate and apple which are yummy. However my favorite item is their almond croissant. It's generously filled with almond paste in a butter croissant and almond slices on top. If you get there at opening, you might get lucky and it will still be warm. It's the only thing I've ever eaten in my car before going home to bring the rest of my haul home. If the place was bigger, I'd probably come here more often for lunch or even dinner. A very aesthetic French bakery that I'm happy they have in the OC area. I appreciate the variety of menu options and pastries. The workers were very helpful with walking us through the menu. The bread for the sandwiches is well made and they give very generous portions for the price. The scrambled eggs sandwich was very well balanced with the ingredients you were able to get pieces of all of the toppings in every bite. They were also very generous with the amount of turkey that was in the turkey in Brie sandwich. It did slightly overshadow the Brie taste wise, but it was still an excellent dish. Came around lunch time and the place was packed. Ordered the le big maque... which is basically a burger with Brie cheese. Delicious! Loved the fries too! It actually IS a great place to study. I sat at a bar top that happened to have an outlet but I didn't see any other outlets. I stayed until 4ish and the place had slowed down.
