Ordered a combination plate( Roast Pork with vegetables , pork fried rice and egg roll ) and everything tasted good. Even fried rice tasted so good and egg roll was not oily. Buddy got sesame chicken combination plate which was good with right amount of sweetness. The hand made Art work arranged in between glass at the tables where amazing and finest at its best. Pros: ------ Good Food Quick service Good amazing Free ample parking Lot of food options close by Plum market grocery is adjacent Friendly staff

Stayed the night in Ann Arbor for a hospital visit, and was really craving some good Chinese food. Found this spot about 5 minutes from my hotel and ordered the Shrimp and Garlic stirfry combo, and ordered the General Tso's chicken combo with shrimp fried rice and egg roll. Everything was really good and the portions were enough for us to share. Definitely a great gem in the area!

Wish I found this place sooner. A notch nicer than a typical takeout joint. The beef chow fun was good but a bit more "wet" than I prefer. I appreciated the fresh bean sprouts. Lunch special menu available.

Panda House has become our "go-to" Chinese place in town. I still maintain that it's not the best Chinese I've ever had but the prices are right and they're quick and easy for pick up. Most recently I wanted some comfort food and enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, and egg roll dinner combo. It was a ton of food and just $9! That's a wild deal. The chicken arrived crispy, perhaps a little over battered but that's par for the course for most S&S chicken dishes. The fried rice didn't have as much protein as the shrimp fried rice delivers but still pretty good! It's great to have a reliable and inexpensive takeout place nearby. Especially during these times!

I'm VERY particular about my Chinese food. Its a hit or miss going to many Chinese food places. My grandma in law comes here and since I was on her side of town, I decided to get some on the way home. I ordered general tso chicken and shrimp fried rice. My total was $20 (ugh why is Chinese food so expensive). Customer service was pleasant when I came to pick up my food. Once home, I actually did enjoy my food. I wish the prices weren't so high, but the flavor is great.

The host was responsive. The food came out of the kitchen incredibly fast. It had that hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant feel. But that's about it. That's the 2 stars. The hot and sour soup got the taste balance and broth right but the ingredients were a disappointment, too much tofu, too much egg, not enough wood ear and/or black mushrooms, scandalously few shredded bamboo shoots (which also clearly came from a can). The wok hei for the mu shu pork was not good; too greasy and again, the ingredients were really inadequate (way too many onions, zero cabbage, scant protein). The hoisin sauce clearly came out of a bottle (way too sweet and flat) and here's the death blow - thick flour tortillas, not those thin Mandarin pancakes. I mean, the thinness of the pancake is the whole point - it is NOT a "Chinese burrito" (a phrase that is an insult to burritos, mind you). The last dish was ma po tofu. For me, a good ma po tofu is all about flavor balance - do you understand between straight up heat from the chili and the numbing of Sichuan peppercorns? They do not understand, this was so overwhelmingly peppercorn that it seemed pretty apparent that someone just equated "hot" with peppercorn and then added chili oil. Again, scant protein. I usually give a place a couple tries because anyone can have an off day. I won't be back. This is a kitchen quality problem, not an off day.

Not sure, but I was excited to come here and try the food. It was a thousand out of ten. We ordered so much, the server was in shock, but we reassured her we were taking most home. I also feel like I should comment on food waste. I am the leftover queen, and this amount of food supplied ten portions (meals) for us over time and was completely finished. I saw they had two locations, but I decided to try the Ypsilanti location. The people working here were very friendly and helpful. I basically ordered half of the appetizer section since there was so much delicious choices to try. I had the sticky rice shumai, roti with curry, spicy wantons, pan fried pork buns, chicken egg rolls, crispy pork lion roll, and Korean wings (not pictured since I got an additional carry-out for my kid). We also ordered Dan Dan noodles , pad Thai, and sesame chicken. The food was all so delicious. The Dan Dan noodles were the best I have had in a long time. I love that it was not too spicy, the egg was a great addition, and I do like cilantro. The sesame chicken was huge and so crispy. I liked the pad Thai, but my husband was a bit disappointed and felt it needed a little more spice or flavor. The portions were huge, which is how we got so many meals out of the food. I loved the spicy oil on the wantons. The pan fried bus were amazing, fluffy with a slight crisp. the Korean wings had a great flavor and I liked the shumai a lot. I love how chewy the roti was, the sauce could have been thicker, but I enjoyed the curry. Everything was so good, I am not sure what I liked the most. It was an adorable place with huge portions and good prices. I really hope to stop back in again, and yes, I will probably order a ton again to enjoy there as well as at home.

I recommend the soups - I love the beef and radish soup and the miso soup. The bao buns are large and filling. I like that there is an option for contactless order and that there are utensils and napkins for patrons along with free chili oil to pack up in small containers for takeout. Many restaurants today are charging for chili oil and even utensils, which I find to be absurd. There is lemon water for patrons to serve themselves as well. Gai's Kitchen is located inside of Bethlehem Church and when they say kitchen, they really mean it, there's no dine in or host stand to place an order haha. Despite this though, my friend and I were allowed to eat here in the church cafeteria adjacent to the kitchen after stumbling our way into the church and placing our order online, but just so everyone is aware this is for pickup, take out or DoorDash really. Now on to the food! My favorite thing we ordered was the Leshan Beef soup, so comforting, warming, and flavorful! Xiao, the owner, was kind enough to teach us how to best enjoy it which was to first take a sip of the broth, have some of the veggies, then dip the beef into the chili powder. The billionaires fried rice was unfortunately a bit under seasoned but at least the portion size was quite generous. The mapo tofu was very authentic and the numbing spice they used was top notch, although Xiao did mention that they would hopefully be moving towards using a more tender cut of tofu than the medium/hard tofu they're currently using which I think would be delightful. The snowflakes dumplings were good although I question how well the crispness of the dumpling lace will hold up during carry out considering we got to have these fresh. All in all very promising and authentic, I'm excited to see what else might make it onto the menu and how things might still improve from here, they're working out some kinks with the soft opening and they've only been open for 2 weeks!
