The absolute worst Asian American food I have ever been over charged for with standards that leave me wondering why they are still in business. They have an online ordering system which they turn off when they are busy which make the business disapear from the Map! They forward the phone to voice mail. When I got there, no line! I have no idea how the others are but what was suposed to be chow mein was like sticky old angle hair spegetti with a few shavings of some veg for color, cold, stuck together and had no taste and as we expressed our disappointment in the odd menu and being unable to call in the order our portions got smaller. If you are looking for pork fried rice, chicken chow mien or even pork buns, you can just forget it. Ask about everything you assume what is behind the sneeze gaurd. It is not what you think it is. They are chicken only and not much of that. Cost 40.00 for what we could have fed two when the order was for three. The area dose have real Chinese American Restaurants. Real smiles, real food and standard menu's. If Panda wants to keep this store open they need to sweep it out and maybe hire one tolken Asian? Not seeing any people of color behind the counter was disturbing, but the bottom line was the food being cold,dry and not what I ordered. Kept correcting the scooper "I'm not a vegatarian"! They kept trying to add rice when I did not order it and their rolls are vegatarian, go figure! I say pass and go for the real thing as it is only a mile or two. I knew it would be as much as being served with tip and only learned of a real restaurant close by that had sliped my friends mind until we opened up everything. I've tried this place four times since they've opened. Not one time has my order been correct. Last time the orange chicken had so much vinegar in it, it was not edible. They are slow, they don't have a good food selection even in advance of dinner time, when you order online it's never ready when you get there and the place is dirty. Hello, usually i do not post much, but this time I feel I need to. My husband and I work more than an hour away from our home in Sonora. We recently moved and have been commuting. We do not get home until well after 7 most days. And then we still have to worry about child care. Well today we were in Panda the hours of operation say 9:30 and we got here about 8:10pm. There was not much to choose from that did not look like it had been sitting there for hours. We had to wait for their signature dish Orange chicken because there was no more. I don't expect much this late but it was awful and to me it doesn't make sense if your store says you are open until 9:30 the least you can have is fresh food. I need to add that we do not eat out often we did today because I got home extra late because of the weather and my little man needed some food. read more

The food is good. Make sure you check your recept! I got charged for two meals. I got home, never got out of the carI brought the meal back!!! The manager was out side... No one dealt with it! I WILL NOT be back and will not recommend this place to anyone!!!! read more

As far as fast food chains go, one can do worse. The staff at this location was friendly and the place was clean. Like all Panda Expresses, it is best to go during peak times to avoid eating food that has been sitting around for longer than it should. There is nothing worse than digging in to some orange chicken to find a few cool, rubbery pieces hidden among hot and fresh ones. Kudos to the individual lid dispenser. I have never seen one like that before in a fast food joint, it does seem to eliminate a bit of waste. read more

They forgot the "Express" in Panda Express. Also, they are always running out of basic supplies like plates and large cups. They are very poorly managed. read more

Bad service - messed up the order and acted annoyed that they had to fix it. Also, they said they ran out of small cups and would not give any allowance. Had to buy large drink or none. Lastly, in my opinion, the chow mein was crap. read more

I was completely underwhelmed! The food was mediocre at best and was cold. I have never been in a restaurant this noisy it was deafening. I tried it once but never again. Sonora has too many good Chinese restaurants that are great and truly authentic for me to want to return. read more

dumb as a box of rocks, I tried to order an entrée only and could not get a straight answer as to size of portion or cost, they kept pushing for 3 item $9.05 as an answer. When asked for cost of 1 small box the size that comes with the 3rd. entrée on 3 item plate, again I get $9.05. If this is the best that they can offer as customer service and product awareness the future of this business is bleak. Hubby has been pining for good Chinese Food since we moved up here to the area. Got Chinese food in Waterford and it was good food, but so bland we were very disappointed. Kung Pao should have some heat! We were in town (Sonora) running an errand, and it was way past mealtime, so we grabbed some food to go. We were very pleasantly surprised! The dishes were tasty and fresh, we enjoyed everything, and the Kung Pao was satisfyingly spicy. We were happy! So, we will continue to test our options, but it's good to know we have one winner. read more

I like broccoli and beef so much and I always get that as I visit there. There are spoons and forks at the drink section, but I personally prefer using chopsticks and I always forget to ask them for chopsticks at the cashier. So if you ask me for one thing to change have chopsticks at the drink section as you have spoons and forks. Thank you! read more

The Sonora Panda Express continues to be the most inefficient Panda Express I have ever been to. Once again, I arrived just after 11:30am for lunch and they were out of 7 dishes, including the power greens/mixed veggies....AGAIN. How is it possible to be out of so many dishes on such a regular basis right before the lunch rush? I couldn't wait for them to prepare the veggies so I ended up getting a side I didn't really want, chow mein, as they were out of fried rice, plus an entree that also wasn't my first choice because they were out of mushroom chicken. To add insult to injury, the greeter/first server acted as if she was doing everyone a favor taking our orders. She barely mumbled "Welcome to Panda"; I don't even think she finished all the words. And she was nearly rolling her eyes when people asked questions about when items would be ready. Her name tag said Deziray. If I were the manager, I'd counsel her on customer service asap. I really think this store could benefit from a monthly "secret shopper" until they fix their customer service and efficiency issues. read more

I really like Panda Express. I have been to many locations and was very excited to know that there would be one coming to Sonora. Since it has opened I have been there many times at different times including morning, afternoon and evening. The majority of the time I have been disappointed. Many times the food has looked soggy and wilted and or they have only had a 3rd of the entrees available and you shouldn't even go there if you are wanting fresh veggies. Believe it or not these are not my biggest issues. The thing that bothers me the most are the people that work there. The employees that work on the front seem okay but the whoever hires must not know how to read people because the always revolving kitchen crew always seem to have an attitude problem. They make a fuss about cooking fresh food, or food that should be available but is not. I have seen them throw things around the kitchen. They are always frowning and always looking like they are talking about customers. And when it comes to evening service they might as well close at 8pm instead of 9 because they don't make any customers that come in feel welcome which is unfortunate because there is always a rush around that time. read more

On 7/17/2015 I had my last very poor quality dining experience at Panda Express in Sonora,Ca. It's always been so frustrating waiting in line to pay while your food is getting cold on the paper plate. This trip I had ordered Kung Pow Chicken & had just sat down when there was a commotion in the ordering line. A handicapped lady was yelling that the Kung Pow Chicken sample was too hot. I remembered thinking to myself that I had never had something at Panda Express that was too hot! It's always very mild & I like hot food. This poor lady was in such distress that the cashier got her some water, which didn't seem to help the lady. I thought this lady must have never had any spicy food before. I started eating my food & the Kung Pow Chicken was the second item I ate. WOW!! It was like a fire bomb went off in my mouth. It burned so bad that I was having a hard time breathing. I was really in destress & was having a hard time even thinking of what to do. I finally jumped up & got a cup of ice & left the restaurant and my full lunch on the table and ran to my car to recover in private without other patrons staring at me. We celebrated when this place came to town but the food is lousy. We do to Manteca's P.H. often and it is fairly tasty there. We have gone about three times and will now give up. Food is not good at all. Cook has no taste buds or his told to skip the flavorings. Chow mein tastes like straw and rice was blah. I am an expert on Chinese food and this is barely food. The dogs didn't even like it. They gave me a dirty look when I gave it to them. read more
