Food was okay. Pad Thai Tasted too fishy for myself Nothing to drive from out of town for. Service was excellent! The place was full and people just kept coming. Loud atmosphere.

Lunch Special 11 - Pepper Garlic Pork with Jasmine Rice

We came to Sonora Thai for lunch. We were greeted promptly and sat at a table, and offered drinks. I got a sweetened Thai ice tea that was delicious, my friend ordered hot jasmine tea. We were also given a small salad with a delicious sweet peanut dressing. We were given a few moments to look over the menu. We placed our order of appetizers: vegetarian fresh rolls, po-pia - Thai style egg rolls, and bbq pork buns. We also ordered lunch specials 11 & 16. The food was delicious, the restaurant wasn't packed but was busy for lunch. The employees were friendly and made sure to check on us periodically if we needed refils and make sure we were satisfied with the food. The restaurant was a good temperature, was clean and well presented. Its been about a year since last time I was at Sonora Thai and we will definitely be back sooner next time.

Stopped at this place in a whim. The whole area is very cute. Small restaurant, typical decor. We were seated right away and ordered right away. Food came out less than 10 minutes. We ordered entrees out of our comfort zone. Chicken satay appetizer was delicious the sauce was so good not to sweet. The cucumber salad that come with it, tasty and refreshing not to vinegary. The yellow curry medium spice was good. I'm not sure I've ever ordered this at a Thai restaurant. The pad see ew was also a new choice, I feel conflicted since I hadn't eaten it before it did seem on the bland side for a Thai dish but idk if that's how it's supposed to be. It was good tho for a plain dish.

Delicious food! Service was ok except for the feeling rushed since they were going to close at 8:30pm maybe next time I will order take out :) but good food! The Thai iced coffee was good too!

cute family run business with large portions. i ordered a chicken soup and my friends ordered pad thai and pad see ew. however our food took around 50 min to come out and the ppl next to us came in after us but got their food first.

Maybe doesn't photograph well, but this fish dish was amazing. Our family comes here pretty regularly as locals & it never disappoints. Something for everyone.

    Lunch menu

Considering all the standard American food restaraunts in Sonora it is great to have an authentic Thai place. It is a family owned and run business and you can tell. They are passionate about what they do. That does also mean they can be a little slow. The curries are all good but they could use a little more spice. The proclivities of the local clientele calls for more mild food, but I want my red curry to have a good burn. The papaya salad has great flavor and full size shrimp. Usually it's served with the tiny bay shrimp but this has a good helping of tender large shrimp. That being said, of you don't like a fishy salad this may not be for you. The imitation (yes, fully vegetarian) duck is probably their best dish. You could fool an meat eater with this, but for the vegetarians, it does not taste too much like meat. If you're like me and can't stand Beyond or Impossible, this is a good choice. The salmon special has great flavor but the chicken tends to be overcooked and there are more bell peppers than anything else. The same with chefs special #1. The chicken was overcooked and there were way too many corns. There are usually only two workers, and one cook, so it is usually a long wait. I have been there twice now when their card machine does not work. This last time I had placed an order for pickup and had to wait for probably twenty minutes while they reset their system and they still couldn't figure it out, only accepting cash or zelle as payment. By the time I finally paid and got out of there my food was cold. I would also recommend eating in the restaurant and not ordering to-go. Usually in restaurant you get enough to eat for a full meal AND a to-go box for leftovers. The leftovers alone are about the size of the entire to-go order. The peanut tofu had maybe 15 pieces of tofu and did not even fill the entire box. If you want authentic Thai food, this is your best bet, but don't come expecting a fast meal. Also, it can be kind of cold inside so bring a jacket just in case.

We were in town for wine tasting and hadn't had Thai food in a while, so we decided to stop by. What can I say...? Same great iced Thai coffee, deliciously fresh spring rolls, and the green curry couldn't have been better. We didn't see too many veggie dishes on the menu, yet at my wife's request, the kitchen made her fresh green beans in a garlic sauce. Thats right - fresh crisp green beans with plenty of "crunch" in a velvety garlic sauce. The prices are very reasonable considering today's crazy economy and we took food home! This is a family run business and the care and attention to customers is worth giving Thai Kitchen your support. We understand that they will be moving soon (just two storefronts away from the current location) and will have more room for more clientele. Judy and Sonny are very welcoming and personable. We wish them great success in the new location and we can't wait to be back to check it out!!!

We've done both take out as will as dine in and have good experiences both times, although they definitely seem to do a larger volume of takeout orders. The inside dining has not been busy either time we were there, even on a holiday weekend. It could have to do with the fact it's not directly on the mainstreet, but it is a quick drive. The inside space would be good for groups as well and also kids. The menu is a mix of chinese and vietnamese cuisine, with some added outlier beverages like boba tea and smoothies. There are vegetarian appetizers as well as entrees. The prices are reasonable for the portion size. We tried the tofu spring rolls to start, and for our entrees we had the Tofu Pho and Szechuan Vegetables. The spring roles were tasty and came with a delicious peanut sauce. The entrees came out piping hot, and they gave us the standard add ons for Pho and had sriracha, hoisin, soy sauce and chili oil to add as well. The Szechuan vegetables had a good portion and came with white rice. Lots of broccoli, snow peas, zucchini and onions. The staff is very friendly and also funny, definitely one of the things we like about coming here. A great option in Murphys and we'd happily come back in the future.

The building itself is lovely, set in the historic Pickering Lumber office built in 1924. Since it was a weekday, the atmosphere was calm and there were plenty of seats available. Everything we tried was delicious. My daughter, who is obsessed with bacon-wrapped dates, spotted them on the specials menu and insisted we order them. Thankfully, they didn't disappoint--the sweet dates were wrapped in perfectly crisp, salty bacon. I wondered if there was an extra ingredient inside the dates, or if their sweetness was all natural--either way, they were outstanding! My man and his daughter split a burger and fries, which they both enjoyed. Planning to share with my own daughter, I asked the server how many toasts came with the avocado toast. She replied, "One." Expecting a small portion, I also ordered a beet salad with goat cheese, tomatoes, and pistachios - so flavorful! When my daughter's avocado toast arrived, it was so large it had to be cut in half. The toast was generously topped with avocado slices and various drizzles, making it look almost extravagant. She couldn't finish it but said it was tasty. I was too full from my salad to sample it myself. Overall, the dishes were great, and the place was nice for lunch. The service was prompt. I have no complaints.
