A restaurant table holds two plates of Chinese food. The left plate contains fried skewers, a bowl of soup, and spring rolls. The right plate features fried chicken, noodles with broccoli, and other fried items. A tall, dark beverage is placed behind the plates, with a napkin and utensils nearby. The table surface is light-colored, and the background shows a dark seating area.

Given this is a b uffet in the middle of nowhere and one of only two buffets in Sonora and/or Tuolumne county, the food is decent going on good. A mom and pop kind of business. The staff is very friendly and knows the regulars who frequently visit the place. I could see staff talking with the local residents, even the Chinese front staff person spoke a couple of phrases of Spanish to the latino residents. I came near opening and the food was fresh and well prepared. Nothing was awfully dry. I was surprised to see sweet and sour pork. Chow mein was a bit bland. Few offering at this buffet but then again all of them prepared well and delicious. At the beginning, was just me and a granny but going towards 12noon, started to fill to 50%. Staff was attenative to refilling my soda whcih is unlimited but an additonal cost to the buffet. I came on July 4th weekend, had an upcharge of $17.99/perperson, dinner all day. Had sushi but I didn't try since I was full. Few dessert options but then again what do you expect out of town with just a couple of thousand residents.

There's one Asian food buffet in Sonora and this is it, and I'm so glad! Always a great selection of quality food with Chinese, Thai and a smidge of American selections. McDonalds charged me 18 bucks for a quarter pounder meal, but for 13 I got to eat a much as I wantedof much more delicious food. The wait staff is always charming, the restaurant is always clean. I've seen some reviews panning this amazing Sonora restaurant, but most, like me, know you aren't going to get a better, more diverse, tasty, large-as-large-as-you-want meal for the price than Mandarin House!

    Sushi and desert bar!

Good Chinese food at a reasonable price. And its buffet style! I eat lunch there at least once a week.

We've done both take out as will as dine in and have good experiences both times, although they definitely seem to do a larger volume of takeout orders. The inside dining has not been busy either time we were there, even on a holiday weekend. It could have to do with the fact it's not directly on the mainstreet, but it is a quick drive. The inside space would be good for groups as well and also kids. The menu is a mix of chinese and vietnamese cuisine, with some added outlier beverages like boba tea and smoothies. There are vegetarian appetizers as well as entrees. The prices are reasonable for the portion size. We tried the tofu spring rolls to start, and for our entrees we had the Tofu Pho and Szechuan Vegetables. The spring roles were tasty and came with a delicious peanut sauce. The entrees came out piping hot, and they gave us the standard add ons for Pho and had sriracha, hoisin, soy sauce and chili oil to add as well. The Szechuan vegetables had a good portion and came with white rice. Lots of broccoli, snow peas, zucchini and onions. The staff is very friendly and also funny, definitely one of the things we like about coming here. A great option in Murphys and we'd happily come back in the future.

Eat in and enjoy them hot and crispy! Service was fast and they hustled to bring my wife's vegetable chow mein (4/5) and my massive plate of combination fried rice (5/5). I had enough left over for another full meal. Several beers to choose from, including a Lagunitas IPA. And of course the rooster Sriracha sauce was there for customers to add heat as desired.

The usual Chinese favorites like kumpao chicken, orange chicken, fried rice and chowmein all find a place on the menu. ***AMBIANCE: Typical 90s style Chinese restaurant ambiance. They used the large tables in the end of the restaurant for meal prepping as well so it was a very non formal relaxed home style setting. ***SERVICE: Can come across as rude but that's the typical on your face Chinese mom style attitude:) ***FOOD: It was umami heaven without going overboard! I mean this is what we come to Chinese restaurants for! Ooey gooey slurp worthy noodles, delicious chicken, delectable and crunchy veggies. Prices are low atleast when compared to the formidable bayarea prices. They have lunch specials as well which is what we went for. They come with soup, entree, carb: half and half noodles +rice or just noodles/rice. They had a hot and sour soup and I downed almost two bowls of it as the kids refused to have theirs. I enjoyed the bits of tofu in it. For my lunch entree I picked the house special chicken. And man was I in for a treat. It was thinly cut strips of chicken in an addictive sauce with jalapeños in it. I savored every bit of my meal. I sampled my family's string bean chicken and garlic chicken as well. The beans were crisp yet cooked through, just amazing!! The garlic chicken was delicious as well but came with a lot of large zucchini pieces.

We debated our options for food before continuing our drive back home and d cided to find a Chinese food place. The Arnold Chinese Restaurant fit our requirements well. My litmus test for a new place is to order beef chow fun. I was pleasantly surprised when they had it on the menu. It's something that you have to have a constant fresh source for it to have a chance of being good. Secondly, even though I forgot to stipulate "dry-cooked", that's how they prepared it. (Proper chow fun is not served with goopy sauce). The seasoning of fermented black beans was perfect! Not something from a jar, but whole, fermented blacks beans full of taste. It was pretty good, overall. The server brought our food out very quickly, hot and fresh off the wok. I had to wait some minutes while it cooled down enough to eat. When I took my first bite, I was very pleased. The taste was spot-on. Their chef knows how to cook. Fortunately, the portion was fairly generous, too, as I realized how hungry I was. My friend had ordered a few different things stir fried, like garlic eggplant and tofu. It looked well-prepared, as well. It was quite a nice surprise that we found such a good Chinese restaurant in Little old Arnold.
