    Chicken cobb salad.
    Pamela S.

The Chicken Cobb Salad was just okay. The portion size was decent, and the ingredients seemed fresh, but nothing really stood out. The chicken was a bit dry, and the overall flavor felt a little flat, even with the dressing. It wasn't bad, just not as tasty as I had hoped. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to order it again, but it'll do if you're craving a salad. We sat outside (by choice), which was nice at first, but the experience was disrupted by loud cars passing by frequently. It made it a bit hard to relax or hold a conversation. I would like to point out our server Alicia was very attentive and super nice!

Our family of six enjoyed a truly exceptional dinner experience at the Eproson House last night. The outside seating was just perfect. Every meal ordered was outstanding, and the service, from the moment we arrived to checking out, was impeccable. We will definitely return and encourage others to try it out!

The service levels are inconsistent. We were there for dinner and it took 30 minutes to be greeted by our harried server. The soup was like wallpaper paste and inedible. The main courses were decent and I've always liked the cozy atmosphere and history behind the place. I'd stick to the bar for some snacks and drinks here.

Chicken Parm. Very flavorful, but would have loved more chicken!

Food? Delicious a bit soupy for the pricing but 7/10 delicious. This is the second occasion I have been and the environment is fairly casual/relaxed which is nice so I will give them that. The service? In my brother in laws words who owns several bars around the Bay Area, "horrendous" last time I was there my steak was medium well to well and I asked for it medium however they disagreed which I thought that was odd because I've had lots of medium filet mignons, and they were not very nice about my polite feedback. This recent occasion I don't think we were greeted after being seated when we had reservations and there was for 20 minutes for drinks and we were ready by the time that happened. Only then did I get one refill. So if they were to work on the consideration of their customers this could be a WONDERFUL restaurant! Plus I have not been but I do hear the bar is awesome. Hoping for the best for this restaurant they are very promising.

We really enjoyed the prime rib steak; was juicy, perfectly grilled and tasty. Side dishes with the rice, steamed veggies done right. Ordered calamari strip for extra $ . The clams was also nice & came with bread. Loved the huckleberry ice cream! The staff always checked on us and very accommodating . Love the historical building and bar with live band ( Saturday Night ) was fun to watch post-dinner.

Potato skins served with ranch and sour cream.

The host was lovely and made us feel welcome immediately. He had the most amazing earrings and was delightful. The server was equally attentive. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. It was a delightful surprise. Overall. Unexpected to be so good in this small backwoods sort of area. Beautiful town. Beautiful meal.

How anybody messes up soup is beyond me. This is the roasted pepper soup that was inedible

The server took a while to greet me but when she did, she was very sweet. I was looking for a meal not to hardy something like a small plate and I was recommended the meatballs. I had some friends there drinking some wine and they told me the wine was delicious and the food was delicious. However, when I did get my food and tried my first bite of the meat meatballs, it tasted very salty, and it looked undercooked. I was not really a big fan of the meatballs. However, I cannot speak for all the other food, which I wish I would've been able to try. If you're gonna come to this restaurant, make sure you're ready to throw down some money. It was $22 for just some meatballs and you get four of them. I had to take them home because I wasn't able to finish them and they were too salty. I would come back here again to try a different dish when I'm visiting. Hopefully next time I can give it a 4 to 5 star review!

We ordered a few things such as as the duck prosciutto sandwich, raw oysters, clam chowder, and the absolute star of the show, a side of the spicy habanero garlic butter! The bread for the duck prosciutto sandwich was amazing. I just wish they put more meat and/or fixing because the sandwich was on the smaller side given the price tag. Tasty for sure, especially dipping the sandwich into the garlic butter. Oysters were super fresh, and wouldn't hesitate to order again. They have a bunch of jams and hot sauces that you can buy to take home, along with pre-packaged habanero garlic butter (which we ended up buying and have been putting on everything we've been eating). Definitely recommend picking up this butter for at-home cooking because it adds a nice layer of spice to any meal without being overly spicy. For the jams, there's so many options and the staff was kind enough to do a jam sampling with us and after tasting we ended up with a jar of their padron pepper jelly. Put it on my sandwich at home, instantly elevated it to another level. Staff from start to finish was a 10/10. Very kind, super attentive, and made us feel very welcomed. Overall, I'll definitely will be back to buy more of the spicy garlic butter and jams!

The TUSCAN CHICKEN ($38) was a thinly sliced piece of non-marinated, dry chicken with absolutely no extra sauce - just dry chicken. The Pappardelle pasta was stuck together like glue and again no extra sauce. I won't even go into the other entrees and deserts we had. Suffice to say the prices do not reflect the quality of food. They need to get a new cook and rethink their menu. This was our fourth visit, and every single one has been a five-star experience. Our server, Dusty, was outstanding. This was the second time we've had him, and he remembered us from our previous visit--including what we ordered. That level of attention to detail and genuine hospitality is rare. He was friendly, professional, attentive without hovering, and truly helped make our anniversary dinner memorable. Dusty is one of the best servers we've had anywhere. The food was exceptional from start to finish. The medium-rare filet mignon was cooked perfectly and was one of the best steaks we've had. The garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely phenomenal, the loaded baked potato was excellent, and the Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared. One of the most thoughtful touches came from the chef. Since we brought a bottle of our own wine, they served a bread basket with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and beautifully wrote a special anniversary message in the balsamic. It was a small detail that made the evening feel even more personal. To finish the night, we enjoyed dessert out on the terrace by the fire table overlooking the beautiful view. The tiramisu-style dessert was outstanding, and the "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate was another thoughtful touch that made the evening feel truly special. We also want to recognize Mary, the manager. She took the time to come by our table, introduce herself, and personally wish us a happy anniversary. It's obvious she's doing an outstanding job leading her team because every visit has been consistently excellent. We also appreciate The Perch's dress code. It helps create an upscale, classy atmosphere that makes dining there feel like a special occasion every time. If you're looking for an exceptional dining experience in Amador County, The Perch delivers. Outstanding food, impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and an atmosphere that's hard to beat. Congratulations to Mary, Dusty, the chef, and the entire team. But when I went with my mom and decided to go for dinner it was a wonderful experience!! The restaurant is a little on the older side and they have really revamped it and turned it into a delicious one!!! We started off with their pot of melted cheese, French bread, and butter yum! The French bread was warm soft and easy to pull apart. We then got the "all day special" where you get to pick a salad or soup, a plate of entrees and a side. My mom LOVES this deal with their salmon and I got the same thing only with italian dressing on my salad. Perhaps next time I will get the bleu cheese like my mom did. Unfortunately they do baked potatoes but not mashed potatoes so I went with the fries. They were a bit thick with ranch. But to my surprise the SALMON! Was not as thin as it was last time it was a wonderful portion, cooked to perfection, and sooooo tasty!!! Now I understand why my mom loves going here often! As for the staff it was wonderful I didn't get her name but our server was an absolute sweetheart she was also ON it! All while having the entire section so we tipped her well! She also knew the menu like the back of her hand which was nice when I hadn't been in so long and had questions about the sides, sauces, etc. lol The vibe is average. It was a regular week day dinner hour and decently packed! That's always good! People working were all very polite and I like how they changed the look of the restaurant by taking down some of the cheesy decorations and leaving up more trendy ones it looks very nice!!! 5 stars well deserved! I would absolutely love to come back with their wonderful service, cheesy bread, and delectable salmon!!!

In the search for something new, don't overlook the local small business restaurants that have lasted over the many years. Gus's steakhouse is one of those businesses. It's family owned for over 45 years, two generations. That's awesome! As a complimentary starter, they provide cheese fondue, sliced bread, and whipped butter. Fondue, don't mind if I do. Rich, smooth, creamy cheese. Bubbling warm over a little steno flame. Lactose intolerant me couldn't resist and tried some. Mmmm. Then they had an all day special two entrees for $32.95. The choices were plentiful. Choose from the likes of sirloin, cheeseburger, salmon, shrimp, chicken Alfredo, chicken parm, chicken piccata... that's just to name a few. The entrees came with side of veggies, baked potato, and soup or salad. Or choose from the regular menu. Plus on Fridays and Saturdays , they offer prime rib. Well I have to come back to try that. We choose the cheeseburger and sirloin. I ordered the sirloin at medium rare. It came out just like I ordered, medium rare. Tender cut. Flavorful. I liked it! Hubs enjoyed his cheeseburger. I took a bite. Mmm. The waitress was super fun and engaging. She chatted about the place and family as we told her it was our first time. We met Gus (the owner) and his son Dino. Both very cool. The waitress was top notch. Excellent customer service. Plus she was stealthy, every time I looked at my iced tea , it was always full. I swear I was drinking it. It's an old school steakhouse. Big upholstered booths that I sink into when I sit down. Not a bad thing. The vibe is casual, low key, and welcoming. Family kiddo friendly. They even have a separate room with a full bar, not open to the kiddos.
