    Chicken cobb salad.
    Pamela S.

The Chicken Cobb Salad was just okay. The portion size was decent, and the ingredients seemed fresh, but nothing really stood out. The chicken was a bit dry, and the overall flavor felt a little flat, even with the dressing. It wasn't bad, just not as tasty as I had hoped. Probably wouldn't go out of my way to order it again, but it'll do if you're craving a salad. We sat outside (by choice), which was nice at first, but the experience was disrupted by loud cars passing by frequently. It made it a bit hard to relax or hold a conversation. I would like to point out our server Alicia was very attentive and super nice!

Our family of six enjoyed a truly exceptional dinner experience at the Eproson House last night. The outside seating was just perfect. Every meal ordered was outstanding, and the service, from the moment we arrived to checking out, was impeccable. We will definitely return and encourage others to try it out!

The service levels are inconsistent. We were there for dinner and it took 30 minutes to be greeted by our harried server. The soup was like wallpaper paste and inedible. The main courses were decent and I've always liked the cozy atmosphere and history behind the place. I'd stick to the bar for some snacks and drinks here.

Chicken Parm. Very flavorful, but would have loved more chicken!

Food? Delicious a bit soupy for the pricing but 7/10 delicious. This is the second occasion I have been and the environment is fairly casual/relaxed which is nice so I will give them that. The service? In my brother in laws words who owns several bars around the Bay Area, "horrendous" last time I was there my steak was medium well to well and I asked for it medium however they disagreed which I thought that was odd because I've had lots of medium filet mignons, and they were not very nice about my polite feedback. This recent occasion I don't think we were greeted after being seated when we had reservations and there was for 20 minutes for drinks and we were ready by the time that happened. Only then did I get one refill. So if they were to work on the consideration of their customers this could be a WONDERFUL restaurant! Plus I have not been but I do hear the bar is awesome. Hoping for the best for this restaurant they are very promising.

The host was lovely and made us feel welcome immediately. He had the most amazing earrings and was delightful. The server was equally attentive. The food came out quickly and was very delicious. It was a delightful surprise. Overall. Unexpected to be so good in this small backwoods sort of area. Beautiful town. Beautiful meal.

How anybody messes up soup is beyond me. This is the roasted pepper soup that was inedible

This is the fourth time we've been here thinking that we were going to have a nice dining experience. Each time we've been there's always been a problem with either the food the ambience or the service. And here we come yet another time and we're very disappointed. I ordered the soup of the day, which was a Bell pepper soup and I asked the server specifically if the soup contain mushrooms because I cannot eat mushrooms and she said no mushrooms. I began eating the soup which was completely disgusting in its own right with little chunks of something inside and absolutely no taste whatsoever. In fact, it didn't taste like peppers at all. Then to my surprise, there are sliced mushrooms in the soup. I was disgusted. I also ordered a side salad and the salad was just lettuce like the kind of lettuce you get from the plastic pack at the market. There was no vegetables included like carrots or tomatoes or croutons. It was just a boring plate of lettuce. The chicken piccata comes in more of a bowl so that it's sitting in a bowl of cream sauce. It's more like boiled chicken as as it sits in the sauce and has no char marks to it because it was probably poached. Another time I tried the Barada appetizer and the cheese was so soft. It was like watery milk. After this last experience, we were so disgusted. We just told the server we had had to go.

We really enjoyed the prime rib steak; was juicy, perfectly grilled and tasty. Side dishes with the rice, steamed veggies done right. Ordered calamari strip for extra $ . The clams was also nice & came with bread. Loved the huckleberry ice cream! The staff always checked on us and very accommodating . Love the historical building and bar with live band ( Saturday Night ) was fun to watch post-dinner.

Ribeye ... ordered medium rare but not!

My husband…read moreand I are originally from the Bay Area and have enjoyed great restaurants all over the world, so we're picky. Compared to other restaurants in the area, including the casinos, I'd give it a 5, but compared to what The Branch is now versus what it could be, I give it a four. To start, we were seated next to a couple with a cranky, noisy toddler. It's a small space to begin with, so there was no place to move to. Not the fault of the restaurant, but it distracted from our experience. The seasonal menu is balanced and not too ambitious or pretentious. To start we both chose the root salad. It featured a nice mix of fresh and pickled vegetables, but my salad had way too many pickled red onions (which I don't care for) that weighed down the greens. The beet swoosh was delicious and I wish there were more beets in the salad. For mains, my husband selected the rendered duck breast and I opted for the short rib shepherd's pie. The duck gets high marks for being tender and flavorful, however it was slightly overcooked and the skin wasn't crispy. I suspect that it had been cooked sous vide in advance and then finished in a skillet prior to serving. Nothing wrong with that, but it was just past medium. My shepherd's pie featured nice fresh carrots and peas, fork-tender short rib and a too-generous blanket of silky, fluffy mashed potatoes. The sauce, unfortunately, seemed under-seasoned and the mashed potato topping wasn't browned (just piped on top). The dessert (dulce de leche cheesecake) was a bit disappointing. The strong spice level of the crust eclipsed the flavor of the filling. A couple bites were enough for me, but my husband finished the piece. One really picky point: the water glasses are mason jars. In my experience, they develop small chips in the rim with constant use. Sure enough, my glass had a tiny ding in the rim that I had to avoid. I would encourage the restaurant to ditch the cute-quaint jars in favor of tumblers. (And, yes, I did mention this to our server to pass along to management.) Service was attentive, friendly and not intrusive. Prices are in line with our expectations of a nice restaurant. We'll go back in few months to check out the new seasonal menu. Definitely worth a trip!

Their happy hour is DAILY from 14:00-16:00. The restaurant was pretty busy on a Sunday, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. Our server was attentive and friendly. For our cocktails, my friend went with the Huckleberry lemonade, while I went with the pomegranate whiskey sour. She thoroughly enjoyed her cocktail, and so did I. At that price point, I didn't expect much, but it was a solid cocktail, although not as strong as what I'd normally get elsewhere. The clam chowder sounded really good, and I couldn't help myself, so I ordered it. My friend is not a fan of seafood, so the chowder was all for me. The crostini was very nicely toasted and I loved dipping it into the chowder. I was also pleasantly surprised by the flavor and quality of the clam chowder. It was packed with a ton of clams, and was perfectly hearty without being heavy. We opted to share the fallen apple pizza, which was the perfect choice. The dough was pillowy and light, and the toppings delicious. I would have liked more apple slices, as it didn't seem like they were very prominent, and for the balsamic drizzle to be more uniform, but overall it was a solid pizza. I took leftover pizza home, and my husband enjoyed it for dinner. We heated it up in the air fryer and that was the way to go. While it was a little noisy in the restaurant, mainly due to a large group seated next to us, we still had a good experience, and the booth seating was comfy. I would love to bring my husband back to try more happy hour menu items next time we visit Sonora! The price point is seriously hard to beat, and Emberz is a solid spot for hanging out and having a good time.

Cute restaurant, like a old house transformed, really only smelled like an old house in the tiny narrow bathrooms Service was absolutely fantastic, everyone we interacted with was so lovely. They all seemed to know everyone who was dining there, we were for sure the out of towners. I had a filet with side salad and baked potato. The vegetable side was well seasoned and cooked well. Basic side dish but done so well I ate them all. The thought that went into making my baked potato ready to scoop out was a small thought but I appreciated it! Even my salad was cold, crispy and crunchy. The bread on the table was delicious. My stake was yummy and loved the jus and mushrooms served with them. Hubs had the prime rib, he said it was one of the best ones he had in a long times he had the clam chowder to start and it was super tasty!!! Glad we had my birthday meal here!

Charles Street Dinner House, Mariposa: 2026 Mar 12 (4 of 5)…read more Let me start off by saying that we were extremely pleased with the service, thanks to Dillon (who showed genuine rapport), Tomben (his honest opinions) and Amya (who brought me piping hot water in a beautiful mug and teapot). Their friendly, yet professional attitude make this eatery stand out. (5 of 5) This eatery has a vintage feel and historical charm. We felt we could really relax and take our time instead of being rushed to order, eat, then leave. The atmosphere feels rustic, exposing the past. It was a time capsule for folks who enjoyed that era. FOOD: Sauteed Mushroom Soup: The soup arrived with garlic bread. The soup had an earthy, savoury and nutty texture. The rich, velvety mushrooms were bouncy and cooked well, while the umami-packed broth felt comforting. The garlic bread that accompanied the mushroom soup had a perfect balance of textures - heavily buttered, with savoury garlic flavour. The golden-brown, crispy exterior was not overly toasted and the sticks were enhanced with a touch of herbal flavour. (5 of 5) New Zealand Rack of Lamb: This was my order - cooked medium-rare. The perfectly cooked meat was tender - unfortunately lacked seasoning, but a dash of salt brought this to a perfect 5. (5 of 5) I had a choice of potatoes or rice pilaf and made a wrong decision. The rice pilaf looked like baby food, and the fresh red pepper over-powered the entire dish. I tried a small scoop and was disappointed. Needless to say, I couldn't eat another bite of the rice. (1 of 5) My vegetables were mostly cooked well. They had a bit of crunch and texture but not raw. My dinner came with Tomato Soup. The soup tasted nutty and lemony, with a slight heat - and has a good aftertaste. It was silky and smooth, rich, and velvety. (5 of 5) Scallone: Our other order came with onion soup. My dinner partner had the privilege of tasting one of the best scallone years ago and was hoping to bring back great memories of this special dish he loved. This marriage of blending ground abalone and scallops is a savoury dish formed into patties. It is then breaded and lightly pan-fried in butter. The texture is supposed to be tender yet firm. The temperature was perfect but the patty came out almost like a regular pancake. A chunk of fresh red pepper was also thrown in, perhaps for colour, but it overpowered the dish. The pilaf rice was also a no-no. When the server came and asked how we enjoyed the dishes, I had to be blunt and said, "I didn't like the rice". Our server apologized and immediately offered to remove the rice on both plates and asked if we'd like potatoes instead. My partner opted for the baked potato. (5 of 5) The onion soup that accompanied this order was also a fail. Overall, this dinner was a 2 of 5. We were there to celebrate my birthday, so for dessert, we got Coconut Crème Brulee. Even though it wasn't cooked evenly, the light flavour of the coconut did not take over the mild flavour of the crème brulee. A lovely ending to an interesting dinner... and the crème brulee was a birthday treat, on the house. (4 of 5) Would we return? I think we would. I'd like to try other items on the menu because we feel it our privilege to have met some of the nicest staff in an eatery.

The restaurant is very small, which makes total sense why it's so busy come summer time. I recommend coming in the off season for an easier chance getting a table and enjoying the experience. Sam was our server and he was an absolute joy, he has a great personality and was very present in conversation at each table he served. All of us enjoyed our meals, the food is very good and flavorful. I cannot recommend the garlic mashed potatoes enough!!! These were my favorite item I had, and I've been talking about them since my visit! A mashed potato is my least favorite potato dish, and these were stellar. I also had the chicken club sandwich and it was good, came with lots of avocado on it. My husband went gourmet and had the duck dish and he really enjoyed it as well, said it was very tasty. What else could they do with their very tiny kitchen and 4 burner stove? We are staying in Cold Springs for nearly a couple of weeks so decided to check out the dinner menu online. Boy, was I surprised to see Rack of Lamb with a Cabernet Reduction, Bone in Pork chop with an Apple Bacon Reduction and a Bone-in 18 oz Ribeye among other offerings including pastas, seafood and sandwiches. We decided to give them a try Sunday evening and just to be on the safe side, I made a reservation for 6:30. The dining room is small and cozy. We were seated at a table by their front window, a bit away from other tables making it much easier for us to chat throughout our meal. Riley, our server, presented us menus and offered drinks. I do love a cocktail before the start of a meal so I ordered a cosmopolitan while my husband stuck with gin and tonic. The cosmopolitan was actually one of the best I have had, not too much cranberry, not too tart or sweet, just perfect! We also perused the wine list as we intended to have wine with our meal. I was actually surprised by the wine list as well - great reasonably priced options both by the glass and by the bottle. We were going to order the Crossbarn Cabernet, but Riley strongly recommended the Stack House which was actually a bit lower priced and I am so glad she did because that wine paired beautifully with both my lamb and my husband's steak. The meals were delicious. I ordered the Rack of Lamb, medium rare, while my husband went with the Teriyaki Sirloin, also medium rare. We both started with a cup of very comforting Broccoli Cheddar soup. Served piping hot, the flavor was perfect and I loved that the chunks of broccoli were not mush, but still had a slight crisp. I had mentioned to Riley that I was really looking forward to the Cabernet reduction so she was kind enough to bring me a bit extra. The lamb was perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful and moist. Absolutely delicious. The garlic mashed potatoes were a great accompaniment. Not too garlicky and more homestyle with small chucks of potato. Also delicious. Even the carrots were great and I am typically not a huge fan. Marty's teriyaki steak was also perfectly cooked. The teriyaki sauce was a bit salty to me, but I am sensitive to salt. He enjoyed his meal. By the time we finished our meals, the place was hopping. Although super busy, Riley managed to provide great, friendly service. Our meal was perfectly paced. We felt quite welcomed by everyone all through our visit. I loved all the local photos/artwork adorning the walls of the dining room. The Steam Donkey is proof positive that you can't judge a restaurant solely based on appearance, location and first impression. This little camp ground spot is putting out some simply wonderful food! I will return when I come back to the area!
