So good. If you're worried that a small town can't do ramen, think again. Great food. Good service. They pulled together tables for our big group of 7. No wait. I'd do it again. We had spicy ramen and chicken katsu. Saw a top 100 ramen spots in California and I believe it.

Hits the spot! Yummy ramen, speedy and friendly service, and the only spot in town for boba! Cozy, right downtown, and plenty of indoor seating

Overloaded super poke concoction. Maybe too Americanized super size, but fresh with great individual ingredients

Five star Ramen way out here in Sonora? Yes!! Some sojourner set up shop two blocks off the main drag with some pan Asianesque menu. Eclectic yes, but worthy of the five star reviews. // Tonkotsu Ranen I was so hungry after a day in the mountains, and I was skeptical of the menu. So the server recommended her favorite, the spicy Tonkotsu. The pork was a decent hunk of perfectly tender pork. Pace yourself with little bites or it will be gone in two bites. The topings weee amazing. Perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs, fresh ginger and wood ear mushrooms, and bamboo shoots. All fresh. What is there a ranch 99 market here somewhere? The broth was legit, and the spicy was really spicy. We also had a traditional tonkatsu, and you could really taste the flavor. I can imagine some vat simmering all day back there. // Poke The super poke combo was overflowing with fresh poke. Salmon, white tuna, spicy tuna, scallops, krab. They were all fresh and tasty. Honestly this giant hodge podge of flavor was a little overwhelming. But they sure did not skimp on ingredients. // Pocky At the register they had a nice little collection of pocky. Chocolate dipped, matcha green, plain. Tempting snacks. I also liked that we paid, but the credit card machine did not ask for a tip. I think the service charge is baked into the price, Hokkaido style. Classy! But I enjoyed my service so much I stuffed some cash into the tip jar.

Cute little place with amazing food, excellent service, prices and decor. Made it vegan and the server knew what we could substitute when we asked, she was really sweet. Will definitely be back!

Kongo Ramen - house special - amazing depth and flavor to this unique coconut broth!! Abundant ingredients!!! I usually order extra corn and an additional egg half... but this dish comes with everything! Even two perfect egg halves, pickled ginger, a generous amount of shiitake mushroom and a giant fat slice of pork belly. I got level 6 spice plus a bunch of shaker spices and could not have been happier with this spicy version! They use ghost pepper and it's incredibly satisfying. Excellent service from the chef / boss lady / owner? Kind staff running the boba tea station which appears to be their primary traffic during the time I visited for late lunch. So excited to find this place. Will be back often!

Gyoza is a Chinese dumpling with a mix of pork and chicken. They are sooo good!!

Wow! This place was amazing! The flavor of everything was top notch. We started with the Gyoza appetizer. It is perfect for two people and the flavor is better than any dumpling we've ever had. For the main course, I had the Chicken Teriyaki Rice bowl. If you're a "big eater" you will not be disappointed in the portion size. My wife had the Tonkotsu Ramen and loved it. The rich flavor of the pork broth was outstanding. Overall the staff were very friendly. This place is just off Washington Street and easy to miss but I highly recommend it.

I was in the area for work, and looking at the area, food option is a bit limited. I was surprised to find a ramen place just down the street from my hotel. The service was amazing and the food was a lot better than I expected, especially considering I had to take it to go and couldn't eat it there. I would definitely come back here the next time I am in the area.

The Ramen was very good and flavorful, the taro boba was also really good. The service was great, she was very sweet. The restaurant's ambience was very calm and chill. Over all I recommend.

    Great tasting drinks and boba.

This place was awesome! Super simple menu yet the ramen was delicious. The noodles were the way i like it, firm and the broth was amazing. The place is also simple with its own parking but plenty on the streets. Their boba was also really good. Def better than The Haps. The service was great. The young ladies working there were so sweet and polite. Everyone was. The only thin that could have been better is my bowl could have been hotter. I prefer my soup super hot, but otherwise, this place can compare to some pretty good ones in the SF Bay Area like Hiro Ramen. Will def come back when in the area.

It is rare that a restaurant becomes both the first and last stop of a trip, but we simply could not leave without a second round. Two members of our group are gluten free, which usually makes ramen a forbidden fruit, yet this small town gem managed to pull off what many famous Bay Area shops cannot. I swapped the pork belly for tofu and it was easily one of the most impressive preparations of tofu I have encountered. We also had a group member who typically faces a post ramen struggle with heavy broths, but she tried the miso version and felt great. The building itself is lovely, set in the historic Pickering Lumber office built in 1924. Since it was a weekday, the atmosphere was calm and there were plenty of seats available. Everything we tried was delicious. My daughter, who is obsessed with bacon-wrapped dates, spotted them on the specials menu and insisted we order them. Thankfully, they didn't disappoint--the sweet dates were wrapped in perfectly crisp, salty bacon. I wondered if there was an extra ingredient inside the dates, or if their sweetness was all natural--either way, they were outstanding! My man and his daughter split a burger and fries, which they both enjoyed. Planning to share with my own daughter, I asked the server how many toasts came with the avocado toast. She replied, "One." Expecting a small portion, I also ordered a beet salad with goat cheese, tomatoes, and pistachios - so flavorful! When my daughter's avocado toast arrived, it was so large it had to be cut in half. The toast was generously topped with avocado slices and various drizzles, making it look almost extravagant. She couldn't finish it but said it was tasty. I was too full from my salad to sample it myself. Overall, the dishes were great, and the place was nice for lunch. The service was prompt. I have no complaints.

I never was interested in going there for years since it's been there but decided to try it tonight. Firstly, the ramen place holds maybe 40 at most and we had to wait a while before we were seated. They asked if we had a reservation but didn't think that it would be needed since it's not like a fancy restaurant and I don't know many ramen places that takes reservations. Since we didn't , we got seated on the bar which is fine. For it being in Modesto, they try to get the anime vibe with toys and anime art around. I'm no ramen expert but I've tried over a dozen ramen places in Tokyo, Vancouver, Japan town in LA, San Francisco, Oahu, Seattle just to name a few cities. So we got first the spicy garlic edamame. Not bad at all, had a kick to it and was edible. From a scale of 1 to 5. I'd give it a 5. For the main entree, I wanted the garlic tonkatsu but the waitress said they ran out.... Ok, for a Saturday night at 6 pm, running out of a ramen and they've been in business for several years now?!? never had that happen before in any ramen shop I've been to. So me and my wife both got the Ichiraku ramen which was a miso broth with pork belly. Price $23. I added 2 more pork belly at $5 more. Oh, the waitress mentioned no bamboo shoots and no fish cake........ ok, never had that happen before in a ramen shop. So while eating edamame, I kept track of how long it took we got our ramen.... It took 30 minutes before we got our ramen... definitely atypical to wait that long wait but I guess it's because they offer a lot of items besides ramen. Presentation was fine, the pork belly was seared on one side with a blow torch since I can taste that searing. . It just had green onions, 2 seaweeds and 2 soft boiled eggs which I was impressed the yolk wasn't overcooked. The noodles I chose was thin and was good with a soft texture. The miso broth was average Over all, it was an okay ramen. Me and my wife both didn't finish our bowls... definitely unusual since we love ramen but somehow, it didn't fulfill our satiety to finish and be content. I can tell you that of all the ramen places I've been to. This is average and doesn't compare to Ramen 101 in Modesto that I've ordered many times before my first time here. Sadly, I can only give it 3 stars because the ramen was average and not in the same league as other ramens I've had in other places and cities. And if me and my wife couldn't finish our ramen, that's a tell tale sign it was just okay. Plus, the place is called Konfucius Eats, doesn't have a Japanese name for a restaurant since "Confucius " is a Chinese Philosopher lol. In fact, I didn't see any Japanese or Asian cooks... just saying that's atypical to the other ramen establishments I've been to. For Modesto, it's aight. I just can't see myself going back here for a long time. Lastly, they are open Tuesday to Saturday only .

I am sad to leave this review because we had good service and our food came with decent timing, but unfortunately the food was not all that great. We ordered the black garlic ramen, kimchi fried rice, and some spicy edamame. The black garlic ramen was bland, neither the noodles nor the broth were rich. It honestly tasted like watered down instant noodles. The kimchi fried rice was decent, but the kimchi itself didn't taste like it was fermented and just dipped in. The edamame was almost good, but was too salty. All-in-all, I don't think that it is worth going to, unless you want to taste and see for yourself. Some things to note, highly encourage reservation ahead of time. We got there an hour before closing on a Sunday and even though there was a table open they almost didn't seat us. It is small on the inside with limited tables so I would not say it's great for groups. They stop serving about 30 minutes before the posted closing time and don't make exceptions. We ended up ordering a Jenni role which had tofu/cream cheese/cucumber inside and avocado/panko/doke sauce outside and it was seriously amazing. Although there were only two veggie roll options on the menu I could easily eat two of this roll alone. Things only got better with the curry. I assumed the curry was going to be Japanese style, but they are actually more thai style yellow and panang curry options. Unfortunately the Udon and Ramen dishes are not vegetarian as they are made with fish broth. But the yellow curry was perhaps the best yellow curry we've ever had (and we are a bit of curry snobs). The sauce was lighter than a traditional thai yellow curry and it had a delicious sweet finish. The veggies were tasty and fresh. When we come back to Murphys I will certainly be going for this curry again. I do wish they had a few more vegetarian options, but very glad the ones they do are outstanding.
