Came here for lunch twice while visiting Sonora. Had the ramen and a poke bowl and a boba drink. The food had good flavor. The ramen noodles were not overcooked. There was one thick piece of pork belly in it. You can choose your options on a write-on menu. Portions were average size. The ramen was $17 and the 2 protein poke bowl was $16. So happy to have found a place that serve pokè and ramen in the historic little town of Sonora. We tried the Yoshuku pokè and the black garlic ramen. While the ramen was decent, the broth was lukewarm and the noodles seemed to be spaghetti noodles, which is OK but I would prefer the traditional kind. The Yoshuku pokè was very good as it was choke full of ingredients and all different kinds of fish, but it was also expensive ($22), but at least I feel like I was getting my money's worth. read more

Went to Sonora and tried Yoshoku for some ramen base off the reviews. The restaurant has easy access from the main road where you can find parking spots on the street if the parking lot is full. Inside has a spacious and clean layout where you can either dine in or walk up to the counter to order. I tried the gyoza for starters which I was surprised came on a paper tray. The flavor was average but at least came out hot. For the ramen I tried the Spicy Tonkotsu with extra green onions and bamboo which they did not disappoint on the generous portion sizes. The broth was missing something, the tofu was cold and the mushrooms were overly sweet. Liked the environment but wasn't the biggest fan of the food. read more

Husband and I drove from Murphy's to eat here for the first time and we were blow away! I got the black garlic Ramen and he got tan tan. Both out of this world! We also ordered the gyoza (should have ordered more because bomb) as well as Taro milk tea & HOLY MOLY ITS A MUST!!! We will be frequently eating here from now on. Worth the drive. I can't express enough how much I love this place. As a Bay Area native now living in Sonora, Yoshoku offers a delightful slice of home. Each time we travel to the valley or the bay area or elsewhere we try different boba places. If I were to judge boba or even ramen restaurants based on these other businesses I would have never given Yoshoku a chance. Sometimes these other places are good, but *nothing* compares to Yoshoku. We've talked about moving from the area and, quite literally, it always ends up with "we couldn't get Yoshoku anymore...we can't move!" The Aloha Specialtea boba tea is fantastic. We get it half sugar and slush and often get a "couple" extras to take home. We've tried quite a few different things on the menu and have never been disappointed. The gyoza are great. Their curry ramen bowls are in my top 5 favorite foods. Staff are all awesome, service is very fast and always with a smile, and the restaurant is very clean and welcoming. read more

Great ramen in an unexpected setting. I love the black garlic oil soup base and their unbelievably tasty shiitake mushrooms - they have a special marinade that makes them umami yummy. I have had ramen all over the SF area and SoCal and this ranks up there with the best. Their poke bowl are equally exceptional. During COVID times they are take out only but if thing go back to full operation, restaurant is tiny but worth the wait. It has the feel of a "real" noodle shop. Took a chance on this restaurant for my birthday. I wanted to leave as soon as the host sat us when I saw the ordering process: a large, laminated card with small, pictures of unidentifiable bowls of food - little to no descriptions or prices, and given a pencil and a long, double-sided excel grocery list of ingredients - again, with little instructions or pricing. This looks like way too much work for what I hoped would be a relaxing dining experience. I know it's not the server's fault the establishment chose this method so I tried not to be to take it out on her. Losing patience, and in my frustration, I ordered God-knows-what! It was a bowl with a small portion of rice hiding under a pile of segregated toppings. I should have asked for salad tongs to toss this thing before I accidentally took a mouthful of ginger which caused me to drain my very small water cup instantly. I ate as much as I could not having any idea if this meal was going to cost me $24, $43, or $75! The cleanliness and ambiance of the place suggested the lower end of the scale, so I was unpleasantly surprised with the $45 ticket. For that price, I would expect them to do most of the work putting in my order instead of depending on me to figure it out myself. I'm sure the server did all she could so I felt compelled to give her a reasonable gratuity. Perhaps I am too old for this dining practice. You wouldn't think a small town in the California foothills would have some of the best ramen around, but this is probably some of the best ramen within 50 miles. Several different broths to choose from, I usually stick with the flavorful tonkatsu broth. Multiple toppings such as soft boiled egg, corn, scallions, shiitake mushrooms etc. Also get to pick your protein. My favorite is the tempura shrimp... two perfectly crispy light battered shrimp that compliment the soup perfectly. Overall, excellent flavors, fresh ingredients, great service and consistently good. We met some family at the new location for dinner. I usually go for the light garlic ramen but since it's been unusually hot this February I went for a poke bowl. I am so glad I did! It was so fresh and delicious. I went with the spicy tuna and yellow tail with the yoshuko sauce and all the toppings. We already loved the Ramen and now I'm in love with the Poke Bowl.
