Pro-tip: Don't bother to order ahead online. They already have your money and will prioritize all the people waiting to order (who haven't paid yet) over you. I ordered three plates and two bowls online at 6:48pm on a Sunday night and the auto-reply email optimistically said the food would be ready at 7:01pm. I got there at 7pm and there was a line out the door of people waiting to order, so I went inside and found a large group of people waiting for their online orders. Bad news: The line of people ordering food moves at a steady pace. The online orders evidently get filled whenever someone has a little time to spare. After 15 minutes, I asked about my order and they said they were out of honey walnut shrimp for one of the plates, so I immediately told them they could substitute orange chicken. After another 15 minutes, I asked again and they said the server was still working on it. After another 15 minutes, I asked yet again and was told that now they were waiting on a new batch of teriyaki chicken for one of the bowls, an item I'd watched them serving to the in-person orderers for the past 45 minutes. Finally, after nearly a full hour, all the in-person orderers were gone, and they were able to start cranking out online orders. They gave me my order with not even a hint of an apology for taking an hour to fill a pretty simple order. I don't blame the likely underpaid serving staff for this. They don't set the policy and it's obvious that management has told them to prioritize the people waiting to order and pay over the people who have preordered and prepaid. It's also apparent that the physical storefront isn't really designed to support online orders. There's a shelf where completed online orders are supposed to go, but they don't use it, just piling up the completed orders, in-person and online together, on the counter near the cash register. There's no signage or display to give online orderers (or the servers, I suspect) any hint of where their order is in the queue. There's also no one whose job is to shepherd online orders from start to finish; they just get mixed in with the in-person orders with the predictable result that they get set aside over and over again while an in-person order is filled. Next time we feel like ordering out, we'll just order real Chinese food from a regular Chinese takeout place and skip Panda Express' Chinese not-at-all-fast food. Edited to add: Oh, I just found out that they screwed up part of the order, as well. One of the plates was supposed to be orange chicken, mushroom chicken, and chow mein. Instead of that, we got two little red boxes: one of orange chicken and one of Beijing beef. With no real system for tracking the completion of online orders, it's to be expected. read more

Greg saved me -- a man with a peanut allergy -- from choosing a platter with peanuts (I know, I sound stupid right). It's a Friday night at dinner time. Some lady is losing her shit complaining to the cashier about the line. I think bc the staff was smiling too much which must mean they aren't working hard. I think she was lost, not realizing she was at Panda Express, mistaking it for a 5 star michelin, in which case, she was severely underdressed. We just got home from getting our food. Opened up our containers and were very surprised to see that none of the sections were fill up except for the rice. I ordered Beijing Beef with potstickers for an online pickup order, and I received Beef with Broccoli and no potstickers. This is a fairly new Panda Express. I feel like this one is much smaller compared to the other locations. The layout seems to be a bit odd. If there is even a small line to order food (about 3 customers), then the line will begin to go out the door. I wish there was more tables inside for customers to enjoy their food. When I came here to grab dinner, I noticed a lot of the entrees were almost all out. It seemed like there was only 1 or 2 scoops of each entree. The only one that was completely full was Orange Chicken..lol. It will be nice if the majority of the entrees were ready for the customers. Came to this location last week and had a bad experience in customer service with a server by the name of Nanci. I often come to this location because it's close to where I live and every time I come in me and my man notice that she is so rude and makes our plates in a really sloppy manner. She literally throws the food on the plate and the contents splatter everywhere and she isn't kind at all she practically yells passive aggressively at people and rolls her eyes. I get that everyone has a bad day at work or might not like their job but at panda you get paid more than most retail or food places pay you. I've gotten paid less at jobs and I never took my frustrations out on customers no matter the situation because it isn't the customers fault for whatever I am going through & them eating their keeps you employed. Today I decided to call the location because the last few times we came she was very mean and didn't even give us good portions and I just don't feel like the way she treats customers is okay. I asked to speak to the manager on the phone and he immediately asked if I just called a few minutes ago ??? I told him "I definitely didn't call a few minutes ago are other people calling about her?" and he kept insisting I just called and complained about her.... so I asked him again if other people have been complaining about her service as well and he didn't really answer that question instead asked for my name and number and what day and time I came in. No apology, just annoyed I dared speak to him. They get them to me and I get the order home. I ordered a shrimp dish and was given one shrimp and a few veggies. The orange chicken sold with it was a proper portion, but I was screwed on the shrimp. I should have checked the whole order after the staff member's reaction. This is a newly opened location in a small strip of new restaurants. Inside it's bright and clean, with a full view of the kitchen area. As you'd expect, the fare is Americanized-Chinese. I find it consistently tasty. I've yet to try any of the new bacon-infused dishes. As the new residences are built up in the area, i'm sure this area is going to be packed from dawn to dusk. As an explorer of franchised fast food anchored plazas around South Bay, I'm somewhat of a Panda Express enthusiast so I know a thing or two about the different locations. This one did the job overall. We stopped by during the lunch rush and they were stocked full of food so there was no waiting for certain items. When we were helped the first thing we were asked is if we wanted a sample which I appreciated but declined since I have my go-to orders. The staff were very quick about everything including cashing me out...and not offering a fortune cookie!! Usually at the other locations I go to, they always include a fortune cookie in the bag with your to-go order. I had to go back and ask for a cookie which kind of messed up their flow but since I'm not a prophet I needed that cookie to tell me what my future held! The food was what you'd expect from your average Panda. I think the chow mein noodles might have been a little soft but maybe I was being picky. Not a very good Panda Express location. Few weeks ago I came in around 9:00 and the young man with the glasses didn't even say a word to me while serving. I think this Panda gets a bad rep because it is so small and is fairly understaffed. Given its size and the resources available it's okay. But when we got home and opened our meals we were surprised to see that the containers where not filled all the way. I ordered broccoli beef and got 4 pieces of beef about 1" each and then maybe 4 pieces of broccoli. The teriyaki chicken was not even filled all the way.
