FOOD POISONING ALERT!!! I ate here last night with my son around 4:30pm and got very sick. I got the 2 item plate, with my sides being orange chicken and honey walnut shrimp. My son got just the orange chicken, and was fine, so I suspect it was the honey walnut shrimp that got me sick. Both my son and I noticed our food was not fresh and cold, but we ate it anyway. I am one of those people who hates sending food back, but after my experience I will never hesitate to do so in the future. I was extremely sick all last night and luckily being an EMT, I knew how to take care of myself. After this experience, I doubt I will ever set foot back into any Panda Express for that matter, and that's really sad because my son and I always loved making Panda Express our "cheat meal" I hope management reads this post and looks into this! read more

I love panda express. But this location always always has hard foods it's obvious they don't get too busy, because the very few times that i've gone to this location, the food tastes old. Just because you don't use all of the food, doesn't mean you shouldn't make fresh new food to serve to customers. The orange chicken is always hard and tastes like it's been sitting there for hours. This is by far the worst location in Reno area. Which is very unfortunate considering it's the only location with a drive thru. The service is good, but a manager has got to go try the food here. read more

Decided to order food on a Friday night. Long wait as expected. Drive through is usually pretty busy. Huge disappointment in my entire order being wrong and now going to have to drive back to hopefully get the order I paid for. Was it really too hard to double check what you were giving out before giving it to me? The lady at the counter repeated the order correctly. But gave me the entire wrong order. Just disappointed. Wish I could give one star. Just went through the drive through, we order our food and it was wrong the screen. When we corrected the girl working, and said we need steamed rice not fried rice, she responded with we ordered fired not steamed and it was already made ( even though we hadn't even left the order screen).. We said our son won't eat fried rice, ( as he has autism) and she ignored use. We let her know he won't eat it and she just stopped responding. We both work customer service, this is totally not ok! First time coming to this location and will definitely be the last. Although the inside is nice and clean, the food quality and quantity is horrible. I ordered a bowl with veggies and broccoli beef. I literally had ONE piece of beef. It was all broccoli and mixed veggies. Good thing I got a chicken egg roll. My husband got a plate with orange chicken and mushroom chicken, with fried rice. Order here last couple times and I'm very disappointed with food. I get bigger plate. And my plate looked like small plate. There was literally nothing... food felt like I got the left overs. Teriyaki chicken was dry, overcooked cooked... no teriyaki sauce with the meal. Orange chicken was good but I only had 6 piece and poa chicken like 7 piece of chicken and no veggies or anything. I will rather pay more for my food. But I will not going to pay at all for the food I got last couple times. This place is good for a Panda. Food quality is consistant and staff is fast and friendly. Outdoor seating is nice in the summer but a bit load with the road right there. Walk in customers definitely take a back seat to drive through customers as they feed probably 3 drive through orders for every walk in. Needs to change for sure. It feels really rude. read more

Ordered online and they shorts me a large Spring Rolls and a large crab Rangoon. It totaled 16.00$. Tried calling but never answered phone. I wasn't able to go to store because had grandkids and were asleep. They also didn't give us soy sauce, teriyaki sauce for our large order of teriyaki chicken. No utensils either. Grandkids were upset didn't get their appetizers. The fried rice tasted old. Panda isn't cheap any more so this order cost 80 bucks. Probably the worst Panda I've ever been too. Manager has a couple sticks up his a ss & the employees are all slow & super impatient. Rude to my 6 year old trying to order his own food even though he knew what he wanted. Mmm mm. We love having a Panda Express closer to our side of town. It's surprisingly delicious. My favorite is the Beijing Beef or the Sweet Fire chicken, with 1/2 fried rice, 1/2 chow mein. It seems their most popular size dish here, is a side and 2 entrees... which is too much for me. So I ask for the bowl. This size is one entree and a side. So if I'm a little hungrier I also get the cream cheese rangoons appetizer added on. And that's perfect. Especially paired with the Panda Express Passion Tea. My son and daughter really love coming here for the fried rice and teriyaki chicken. Perfect kids meal and refreshing change from chicken nuggets and fires. There is outdoor seating that is nice in the warm weather. I have to be honest, as much as I love this place sometimes the service is hit or miss and if you don't time your visit just right, when the food is hot and fresh, you're stuck with food that has that-we tried to keep it warm for you taste/texture. On our most recent visit, they forgot to put the teriyaki chicken in the kids meal, so all that was in the box when we opened our to go order, was fried rice. Still-recommend. read more

Read my review of the Kietzke location and you'll see I'm actually a fan of Panda Express. In fact, as a lover of real deal Asian food, PE is my guilty pleasure, and I've always been impressed with the fresh and lively atmosphere of the other location, the friendly staff, and the tasty food that somehow NEVER runs empty on the line. So I was excited when the South Reno location opened, and I literally laughed out loud when I saw the low overall rating. How could it be as bad as others had reported? Well, my first time in, and it was sadly just as described. The first thing I noticed was that this store was designed a little different than the others. More modern, minimalist, and actually kind of cold. The biggest thing missing in my mind were the coolers packed full of fresh produce, which to me was a signal of so many things and translated into a strong perception of freshness when looking at the food. The second thing that jumped out at this location was the empty hot line, and on top of empty, the dishes in the case didn't exactly look like they were just put out. I know some sell out fast, but I've always known PE to always be on top of this, making sure when one goes out another is dropped in almost simultaneously. Lastly, observing the staff for a minute, it was pretty obvious they weren't communicating at all, and that's likely part of what caused the issues in the case. The first person to contact guests in the restaurant also wasn't exactly friendly either, and that set the tone for the whole deal. It's funny, my wife suggested we use the drive-thru and I told her part of the fun is seeing all the fresh food in the case and watching your plate be put together. Had we used the drive-thru we would have been sitting there waiting for the food to be made, and I can't imagine how long those that were there had to wait. I ended up making some selections I wouldn't otherwise have due to the limited availablity, and all in all, the food was good, but not what I have secretly craved in the past. So to make this long story short, this place needs training bad. I want to love it, but at this point I'll gladly drive the extra distance to the other to avoid this experience. I eat lunch here more often than I should... sometimes five days a week, recently, and the service is always good and the entire staff is always friendly. I've seen a few difficult customers going through the line ahead of me and the employees have never failed to be courteous no matter how ridiculous the customer's issue was. Well. Panda Express is Panda Express. I know what to expect and nothing more. But I'm just really pleased to have a panda express in the neighborhood. We all know of it, we all love greasy noodles, and we sure as hell love orange chicken. Besides the somewhat typical bouts of chorro that come with overeating beef broccoli, I was pleased with the service I had. My GF was not to pleased to find big chunks of cabbage stalk in her noodles. I love any kind of asian food and will continue to return to the express way to find my inner panda. I went to Panda Express around 1 pm on a Sunday and the food was fine, but despite it being lunchtime, they were out of chow mein. I was told I would need to wait a few minutes for them to make more chow mein, which was fine, but you would think they would have the chow mein prepared ahead of the lunch rush. Once the chow mein was ready, they ran out of orange chicken so I then had to wait for them to make more orange chicken. I did notice that folks who ordered after me were given their chow mein/orange chicken before I was. I was told I would need to wait "a few minutes" but it ended up being about 15 minutes. Given the long wait for a place that is usually very fast (and was not busy at all), I expected to be given a coupon for my next meal or at least a free drink while I waited. Finally open! We have a few Chinese places near us, but nothing fast food like this. The location can be a bit challenging when it comes to parking during peek hours. The location is open and bright and bigger than some I have been too. The staff is friendly but the cooks seemed rushed. I ordered my usual vegan tofu and eggplant and it took them about 15 min to get it done. I love that they don't have one sitting and waiting already... However 15 minutes it's kind of ridiculous to deep fry some tofu. Don't get me wrong I'll totally be back ... the food was good and Hot and the staff was very apologetic. Horrible food, quality, service, and portion. Got the two items plate with fried rice, mushrooms chicken and kung pao chicken. The rice they use to make the Fried rice was undercooked. Fried rice was super dry and also very very bland(no flavor). The two chicken item that was totally different from each other tasted exactly the same and very salty. Kung pao chicken doesn't taste anything like kung pao chicken, mind as well call it peanut chicken with all the peanuts thats in there. Asked for soy sauce and two hot chili sauce ended up with no soy sauce but all chili sauce. The manager at this location needs to hire a better chef that actually know how to cook. I went today around lunch and there were 3 people in front of me. I was in and out in maybe 5 minutes? And there was only one person working Drive Thru, one in the front, and one cook. We live in Sparks, NV and have a wonderful Panda Express here in Sparks on Los Altos. We unfortunately ordered from one of your newer places yesterday and had a bad experience we thought you should know about. We were taking some food to a friend that's recovering from a back fracture. My wife ordered on line from the Panda Express located at 547 S. Meadows Parkway, Reno. When we got to the restaurant 40 minutes later our food was not ready. I was told we were waiting for the Chow mein. I waited almost 10 minutes and when the Chow mein came up the girl behind the counter served a gentleman that came in after I'd been standing there for 5 minutes first. When I asked about my order, I was told we were also waiting on Orange Chicken. After waiting for almost 15 minutes (don't know why we ordered ahead) our order was ready. My wife had ordered a bowl with Chicken with green beans on rice. When we took the bowl top off we found exactly 3 small pieces of chicken and 4 beans... Hardly a portion at all and certainly not what we get at the Panda Express by our house. I had ordered orange chicken. I don't know what was done to the chicken but it was way over cooked and hard. This location hasn't been opened for that long so I wanted to try this place. I ordered just a few items at the drive up window and the wait was over 30 minutes. How is that possible? I understand this place isn't a regular fast food like McDonald's but they should have a better process to operate faster at drive up and be more efficient. After over 30 minutes of waiting they informed us that they ran out of the chicken teriyaki that we ordered and on top of that they got our order wrong too! I'm not expecting top notch service at this place but I was hoping it would be at least fast and efficient. If you are hungry and in a rush, do not use their drive up. They usually do OK and I do appreciate having a panda express on our side of town.... But it's always questionable. I waited 15 minutes in the drive-through to find out they did not have any teriyaki chicken which is the third time I've heard this this year. Not a big deal as I ordered some thing else.
