I'm always happy with this Panda Express. The place is clean, food is ready, and manager is really nice-- I've even ordered big orders from them for birthday parties before. If I was rating this restaurant compared to other restaurants in general it would be like a 3, but since (hopefully) most people reading this already know what to expect of Panda I'd say this is a 5 star Panda Express compared to others. Saturday July 11th 11am The employee V was very rude at the drive thru she kept interrupting me mid sentence while ordering. We were not greeted at the drive up window and she handed our food without asking if we wanted sauce. We waited by the window for 10 minutes so I could ask for sweet and sour. For the food....the Teriyaki Chicken had little taste and was tough dark meat with gristle and served in big pieces with no knives available. This Panda Express is a joke! TERRIBLE service...the whole place is ran by kids. I was waiting in the front of a line that was long and as I approached the front bar to order I was not greeted. The lady didn't even give me eye contact, she was too busy fixing plates and acting busy for a few minutes before I had to speak up She had terrible communication It was really disrespectful and rude I can't remember her even saying a word the entire time! Then towards the end it was a guy named Ron who wrung us up, he had our order hidden behind a drink dispenser as he tried to charge us. Without me seeing the order, I requested to SEE what I was paying for. Sure enough my side order and sauces were left out. Then he stuffed my $40 dollar dinner in one bag alone. I stood there requesting an extra bag and had to say it out loud multiple times before anyone noticed.... It was terrible And the food didn't taste fresh at all. The messed up thing is since it wraps around the building you have no idea if there is a line up. I was only 4th in line and it took 35 minutes. I should have walked in. Never again. This location is ideal for me but today they almost lost a customer, me. I keep my receipts with my gift cards just in case and today I was told my card " had no money on it..." How many times did that work on customers today? Fortunately I had my receipt to prove funds existed. Food was as expected, since I went through drive thru, my car was great :). I've learned my lesson in the past: always ask what they are out of first- Which I never understand because it's still early, yet they were out of several entrees.. Fantastic restaurant for vegans. This location serves about 10:1 Veggie to meat ratio. It's already overpriced but when I order broccoli beef (or any dish) I'm always super happy find that I got BROCCCCCCOOOOOOLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII and a little beef. I'm not sure if it's because whoever's cooking is eating the meat or the people scooping are only picking veggies but it's so hilariously consistent at this location. Been driving by this joint for months. Tonight I was caught out late and decided it's time to roll into the drive thru. Ordered the bigger plate of orange chicken and some fried rice. We pulled past the order speaker and revealed NOBODY was infront of us. Made contact at the window and our food was waiting for us...$10.06. This amount of food will easily feed three people. I was surprised at how inexpensive the food was priced. I quickly got on that supercharged Rover and we were home in a flash. We sat down at the table and feasted like no tomorrow. As I sat at the table, daydreaming about my upcoming Valentine's Day date with a pretty little Missy, I realized this Panda Express food was TASTY. Don't get me twisted, this Chinese fast food is not like sitting down eating Chinese food from a restaurant in SF China town. We have to remember we are in the Reno suburbs, and it cost 10 dollars. I'm a little confused on the reviews for this Panda Express. My experience was exactly what I thought it would be. Convenient, surprisingly cheap, and it turned out to be tasty. I want to remind the one and two star yelpers. Sometimes I think we are so quick to review a business that we do an injustice to Yelp and the business. Don't get me wrong if service is that poor I hope you contact management and see where that leads us. But expectations must be reasonable. For the betterment of Yelp we need to exhaust all resources available and put a complete review of all issues at hand and furthermore try and correct the problems we witness. Some of you might say Chris G, you only give 5 star reviews. Yes, most of my reviews are 5 star. Sometimes we need to remember that being in the service industry is tough. All employee trainings are not created equal, and most businesses don't have tons of cash to throw around to fix all the issues we document. Additionally it's hard to keep long term employees in this industry. I love panda express food!!! Sometimes: It's the bar for orange chicken and other popular Chinese dishes. This location has a hard time with efficiency and portions. I've been coming to this location ever since they opened, hoping that the one in charge would actually take everyone's feedback into consideration and make some changes. Surprise, it's still the same. Same scarce portions, messed-up orders, slow service, and a lack of customer service. After many visits (20+), I finally felt compelled to write a review. On my last visit a worker at the drive-through messed up my order. I went back through the drive-through and got it fixed. My first mistake was not double-checking my order and my second mistake was not double-checking it the second time. I had a "fool me once moment." I couldn't believe that they could mess up an order twice in a row within the time span of 10 mins. The third time, my husband went into the store to point out that the portions were off (try 1/4 of what we'd get at any other location) and they were unapologetic towards their mistakes and somewhat even gave some attitude. Other times, utensils and napkins were forgotten, service was slow, or the rice was undercooked. There was a short, magical period when service and food portions were outstanding, but that was short- lived. At the end, the negatives at this location outweigh the positives. If Gordon Ramsay made a plan of action for this kitchen: 1. Up your portions 2. Put a donation box at the window for charities instead of asking people for money before every order. Studies prove that people feel pressured to give when asked this way and that they will feel shame if they decide to not give. Some people are just barely getting by and would like to enjoy their meals without a guilty conscience. I do appreciate that panda donates 100% of their donations to charities. 3. Hire experienced cooks or provide more training. 4. Have a person taste the food before it goes out for quality control 5. Train workers on ways to remedy problems 6. Give incentives to workers who deliver great service and work hard 7. Rethink your goals as a business I see a lot of responses and apologies to lots of negative reviews on Yelp, but I don't see any action. That says a lot. You have all the tools you need to be a successful business. You have the cutest panda mascot and recipes that are more valuable than gold. I would take advantage of them before it's too late. I went to the Panda Express located in South Reno off of S. Meadows Parkway and in the same shopping shopping center as Sprouts Farmers Market. This was a clean store, conveniently located location and friendly employees. Went with the half and half rice and chow mein. For my sides I ended up getting the new and old version of orange chicken. I felt like all the new sides were not that appealing. They use to have a sweet and fire chicken with pineapples but the no longer have that. Hope they bring it back. Anyways...pretty standard Panda experience. read more

Needing to grab a quick lunch and having snagged a coupon from the "junk mail" pile, I headed to Panda Express for a buy on get one bowl. The greeting and service were adequate, but no thing more than the bare minimum of friendliness was offered. The customer is just a being to shuffle thru the line of their day which requires they put food in a bowl or plate to earn a pay check. I didn't have high expectations for the food and was pleasantly surprised with the orange chicken. Moist and flavorful. I chose the chow main over rice and enjoyed the amount of onion and veggies in it. The cream cheese fried wontons were ok, tip, I took some home and put them in the air fryer for a couple minutes making them crisp and yummy instead of Luke warm, chewy on the verge of being soggy. Four of our go-to joints are closed we land at Panda Express. Definitely would not have been our first choice. Tonight this restaurant was busy (mostly carry out). However, the place was very clean and comfortable. They even had Christmas shows on the television. I recommend the Teriyaki beef and the Orange chicken. I love panda express. But this location always always has hard foods it's obvious they don't get too busy, because the very few times that i've gone to this location, the food tastes old. Just because you don't use all of the food, doesn't mean you shouldn't make fresh new food to serve to customers. The orange chicken is always hard and tastes like it's been sitting there for hours.
